    I wasn't very hyped at first by this Roguelike twin stick shooter, but it's actually real good.

    The goods + Fun, nervous and precise gameplay (even with a pad!) + Awesome soundtrack by Dan Terminus + You can make a save anytime you want if you need to quit the game + Upgrade your robot between each level with the possibility to try any weapon + Daily challenges + Up to 4 players    I wasn't very hyped at first by this Roguelike twin stick shooter, but it's actually real good.

    - It's looking good but some levels seems too dark
    - Kind of repetitive in terms of design

    Neurovoider is a good and solid rogue-like twin stick shooter that lets you play as a robot built to decimate hordes of other robots. The different variations of weapons and armor you acquire throughout is fairly interesting, but tend to be not as equal in terms of usefulness. The combat is very fun and frantic, but the movement speeds don't initially match up to the pace, resulting inNeurovoider is a good and solid rogue-like twin stick shooter that lets you play as a robot built to decimate hordes of other robots. The different variations of weapons and armor you acquire throughout is fairly interesting, but tend to be not as equal in terms of usefulness. The combat is very fun and frantic, but the movement speeds don't initially match up to the pace, resulting in your robot being damaged more than it should and feeling a bit unfair. The three different classes are not really compelling enough to pick based on abilities and rather just based on looks (which is decent).

    The music in Neurovoider is very good with synth music that takes tones referencing original 80s TSS games and putting a spin on it. While the map variation is lacking more larger areas and creatively after the first ten stages, the color palette matched with the music and combat is quite nice. The bosses offer very little in variation, which is disappointing because they essentially all act the same: fill up the room with gunfire that will be intense and fun at first, but repetition brings it down that even its inspirations did far better. There is also co-op in the game, but it is only tied to couch-play instead of the inclusion of a online multiplayer. Unless you have a team of buddies that come over for game night, this largely isolates the game into a solo experience. Considering the difficulty of game and its permadeath rogue style, this is very troubling.

    Despite the issues, Neurovoider does manage to be fun and enjoyable. It is definitely a game only hard core twin sticks shooter fans will play and truly love, while the main public might just not care or give it a shot. Hopefully Plug-In-Digital will patch and update the game to make it more varied and implement more things. If they do, then it would make a far better game then currently.    … Expand

    Fast, retro, addicting, fun, Neurovoider is a twin stick shooter that comes at you with the powerful, violent bass of its synthwave soundtrack. this is a world where humans are gone, and as one of the very last humans out there, you will defeat the enemy by becoming them. Your enemy? A group of robots that have turned the Earth into a flying metal ball. You? A brain powering a hulkingFast, retro, addicting, fun, Neurovoider is a twin stick shooter that comes at you with the powerful, violent bass of its synthwave soundtrack. this is a world where humans are gone, and as one of the very last humans out there, you will defeat the enemy by becoming them. Your enemy? A group of robots that have turned the Earth into a flying metal ball. You? A brain powering a hulking robotic monstrosity with nuclear-tipped missiles and plasma wielding Gatling guns.

    Neurovoider is a lot of fun. Destroying enemies with precision and accuracy is a blast, while the hundreds of customization options will keep you coming back. The action is furious, as well as the boss fights. As a procedural generated rogue like, Neurovoider is firm but fair. Each move taken is a risk but so are the rewards. With three difficulty settings, and couch-cop, the game is very accessible.

    The soundtrack from Dan Terminus is pulsating and aggressive. The visuals harken back to the dystopia cyberpunk worlds of The Terminator and Blade Runner.

    I only wish there were more options for customization and enemy variety, but other than that, this is a must-own for PS4, PS vita, Switch, and steam gamers.    … Expand

    NeuroVoider is a very satisfying romp in the rogue-like genre. It has the challenge and the satisfying gameplay loop. Prepare for some frustration of course, this game can be unforgiving at times. But it looks good and the customization and loot systems are a high point for the game. I enjoyed my time with the game and found myself wanting to keep trying even after dying a lot.

    I enjoyed playing NeuroVoider, but it resembled the guilty pleasure of having fun with something so simple and mindless. The game has tons of options to customize your robot and it was fun to experiment various types of weapons, classes and skills in the early stages. However, the inequity of usefulness in weapon types forced me to hog only the strongest type of weapon available in later stages. It became a routine to hope for a strong and useful weapon to brute-force my way in several stages. The excitement of getting rare and powerful weapons replaced the excitement of actually playing the game. At this point, the game became tedious. Overall, NeuroVoider has both the charm and the silliness of generic shoot'em up games from the 8-bit era. It is, without a doubt, a great game to spend some time mindlessly playing couch co-op with your friends. Yet, this experience is short-lived and transient. Enjoy it while it lasts.

    NeuroVoider shines much brighter in multiplayer. The gameplay stays the same but the difficulty doesn't seem to scale as much and you can now blast through the enemy forces two, three, or four times as fast. The action gets a lot crazier and it can be hard to keep track of things at all times but the simplistic gameplay means you'll have a lot more fun if you play it with some pals. Unfortunately, those pals better be offline ones because NeuroVoider lacks online play.
