    The cons outweigh the pros in this game so I'll start by listing them up first.

    Cons: -Terrible dialogue in the story that is nothing but cringeworthy and really drag you out of the experience -The story is short and leaves you with almost nothing to do when you're done -Ultra dumb AI that you will blast past in the beggining of every race only to have them catch up to you towards    The cons outweigh the pros in this game so I'll start by listing them up first.

    -Always online which DOES NOT WORK WITH YOUR SERVERS EA. Expect to get randomly thrown out of OFFLINE races because of connection problems
    -Graphically it sometimes looks amazing, but mostly boring and slightly ugly. Now this is not really a problem for me except there are some major frame drops when going from dusk to dawn and occasionally mid race.
    -The city is dull. There are little to no cars driving around and you sometimes have the feeling you're in a Walking Dead Episode
    -NO Wheel support
    -NO manual transmission, which for my part would not be a problem as long as the automatic one works, but it doesn't and sometimes your speed out of a corner is completely ruined due to the fact that the car refuses to shift downwards

    Pros:
    +Great customization on most cars which gives each car an individual feel and will have you playing to upgrade that part, or get to that bumper or body kit
    +Nice tuning capabilities which allow you to play the game as a true arcade game or a slightly more sim racer
    +Good car handling
    All in all this is NOT the NFS reboot most of us were expecting, although it is slowly heading in the right direction. The only thing the devs need to do is to LISTEN to the community and remove the always online ****    … Expand

    The main problem with this game is steering. It's so unresponsive that it takes about 2 second to get wheels from left to right position. It's OK for some truck simulation game (like ETS2), but totally unacceptable for racing game. It makes handling very hard even in normal races like circuit, and in drift it's unreal to control the car.     N4S was one of my all time favorite racing games and THE racer to get, well up until Most Wanted, after that it has been a downward spiral and so in an attempt to get back to the glory days of N4S, EA and Ghost Games have brought us a the latest version of the franchise simply named Need for Speed. There is no doubt that it is a shiny game with gorgeous graphics but unfortunately all this game does is prove that great looking graphics does not make a game. A positive of this game is the customization, you can do almost anything short of rebranding the car, add that to the great visuals and you cant help thinking that you have built a sweet ride, as well it should be but this is where the gameplay lets you down. The potential is there but you cant help feeling that Ghost Games really missed out on a great opportunity here. Even for an arcade game, in my opinion, the handling of the cars, is to say the least, sluggish compared to other racers of the same genre. When it comes to the story you cant help thinking why Ghost Games even bothered? It is poorly written and the acting is just as bad, add to that the constant annoyance of the phone calls even mid race and does not make for a good experience.

    DRM is pretty much a hated term especially in gaming and even though EA claims that always online is for the benefit of the players and is not DRM, the fact is, that it is. Ghost gave a bunch of reasons why N4S is always online and it all points to a better experience, the sad truth of it all is that it is not and none of the reasons that they gave really justifies why the game should be "always online". If you have a poor connection or your internet is down for a period of time the game will be inaccessible.

    Because this is an opinion piece I cannot directly tell you not to buy this game but with other great racing games out there like DriveClub and Forza which offer great visuals with a better driving experience and isnt marred by DRM, you have to ask yourself, why would you want to buy it.    … Expand

    What's up with the dummy accounts in the user reviews? Somebody paid them to do these? Need for Speed is a decent racing game but does not deserve to have 9's or 10's. There's nothing wrong with the game itself; the problem is, it's so normal that it basically makes everything dull. An ok racing game that doesn't leave up to it's predecessors.

    Ok so here are the complaints I have beside the pause button: can't skip cutscenes, messages pop up while racing and game don't stop, default control makes the cars glide on the street, u can own ONLY 5 cars, always online bs. I don't really care about the cheesy storyline.

    It was THE racing game I was waiting for since EA released the first trailer of Need for Speed. It felt like eternity until I could hold the game in my hands. The day I got it I had to play until my eyes burned. After hours of playing I still wasn't sure what to think about the game. The more I played it, the more I got demotivated. Who the hell gets hundreds of calls within a few hours? The next thing that wasn't really necessary was the "no you cannot pause the game. period!" Why the heck can we not just pause the game? Lets move on. What did the developers have in mind when they created the AI? The AI is the most frustrating thing in the game. You can drive like a hero but you will lose! The NPC driver crash the whole time, drive unfair (and I thought that the kiddies in Driveclub are the worst). I got so frustrated while drift train that I almost destroyed my controller. Why do the NPCs drive so slow and as soon as you are a little bit faster they overtake and kick you out that you have no chance to get back to them. This happens the whole time to me. This game still needs a lot of optimization and a mass of patches. I'm so disappointed, frustrated and sad because Need for Speed could have been a hell of a game.… Expand

    I love the customisation. This has always been a staple of the original and true NFS games and to have it make a genuine return here is brilliant. The real life actor scenes are no where near as horrid as i first expected them to be, another genuine positive. Sounds are also done really well for the cars and with a good surround sound setup you can easily pick where your opponents are just by sound alone.

    Ive only played ablut 5 hours so can't speak much of the story... though if you play a racing game for the story then its safe to bet you're probably not in the right genre...

    Where NFS falls down for me is the handling and AI. I might be too used to realistic racers like forza and gran turismo at this point, but for the life of me i cannot get used to the driving. Forever am i careening into walls or running smack straight inti a parked car. The AI rubber banding is annoying as fck. I mean this is quite literally like they all have a massive elastic band strapped to your car that just waits for the perfect moment to snap back and they all of a sudden fly past you without a care. Its indescribably frustrating. The "always online" i find dubious at best... but whatevs.

    All in all, i WANT to love this and i WANT it to be amazing. But is simply isn't for the reasons above. For me i will more than likely end up returning it for a full refund simply becauae i am too furstrated by the AI and driving mechanics.

    It's just boring, plain and simple. The reviews you read about amazing graphics, great car customization and all that are all very true. But then you play. There is a very definite "something" that is missing. The real world cutscenes at first were interesting and surprisingly well-integrated, but within a few minutes you want to punch them all in the face.     I love that the customization is back, and its really the reason why i bought this game despite my second thoughts about it. However, there is a severe lack of body customization for the late game cars (not enough time for ghost games to add these in?).     There is a great game in there, somewhere, but it is severely hindered by always online DRM, no multiplayer hobby or no easy way to get a multiplayer game going aside from inviting friends. I fear for its long-term playability as a result. What is the point of having made an awesome paintjob on a car if no one is ever going to see it? Having random players in the open world adds almost nothing and is clearly just a convenient excuse for the always online requirement. Even then, the game tries to get local players into your world, but if you live in a remote area, your game world could end up being rather empty...    … Expand

    Cons: - No manual shifting - Unlimited auto shifts (every car can shift 8 times???) - No pauze option - Always online - Extremely limited PVP options (cannot race with more than 1 friend) - No    This game is FUN to play.     I think NFS is going to the right direction with this reboot. There are some stupid things they have decided on this game but those are small things an could be patched in the future.

    For me this game is a weak 7. If it had an offline mode, manual shifting and playing with friends i would give this an 8. And more things like crew management, crew vs crew play etc it could have been a 9/10. So much potential. It could have been so much more!

    The only thing I can think of is that EA didn't give GHOST enough time to develop this game to its full potential.    … Expand

    Need for Speed 2015 is developed by Ghost Games after the series took a break for one year, entirely skipping the year of 2014 so that the team of Ghost Games could put all their focus and resources on one big title. Did they deliver? On some fronts, yes. On some other fronts, they didn't.

    The positives? The presentation and graphics in this game are top notch.     The positives?
    The presentation and graphics in this game are top notch. Ghost Games already showed what the Frostbite 3 engine could do in NFS: Rivals in 2013, but this game blows it away.

    Car customization is finally back in this NFS. It's the most extensive customization system since NFS:Carbon back in November 2006, almost 10 years ago. It is not quite on the same levels as Carbon, or even NFS: Underground 2. It is more or less on the same level as NFS: Most Wanted (2005). Which is still good.

    The physics are arcade-y and can be customized to your liking. You can fine tune every single component or you can just slide the main slider if you're not in the mood. You like heavy drifts? Crank that slider all the way to the left! You prefer more grip? Slide that baby to the right. Very NFS: Most Wanted (2005) and Carbon like.

    Great city design and layout. Ventura Bay is a fun city to ride through.

    The Bad stuff?

    First off, the soundtrack.
    It has some great songs and artists like, Run The Jewels with "Blockbuster Night pt.1" a couple of good aggressive EDM bangers and the one decent song off of Refused disappointing comeback album. But that's maybe 10 out of 50 tracks. It's one dimensional. All of the other songs just blend and bleed in one another. One generic D'n'B beat to another.

    The city feels "not alive". Barely any NPC's and traffic to be found in the world. Even the cops are complete pushovers!

    Rubberbanding. I don't mind subtle rubberbanding to keep the player away from slacking off, but it can get outright ridiculous (and at times unfair) in this game.

    Always online.
    Just why? NFS: Most Wanted (2012) and Rivals had the same, if not more dedicated online services and modes than this game, yet those game could be played offline by default. There was absolutely no benefit to make this always online. No new things are introduced. There are too few players in your server to make everything feel "alive" or "dynamic". Plus, they can interrupt your races...great. And when the servers have to go down for maintenance you have no chance to finish your race and cash in your earnings.

    Fantastic.

    Another issue is that there are less events/races in this game compared to past NFS games. This might sound like a nitpick, but the game is slightly lighter on content when compared to past titles. But the devs will release extra content for free with updates, so...

    Overall, Need for Speed (2015) is a fun arcade racer that oozes with style, but is ridden with many annoyances and questionable design choices.    … Expand

    I am a huge racing fan and have played most of the NFS games. This was my first NFS game on the next gen, and I have to say I am just a little bit disappointed. First off, the way I would sum up this game is that it is just fine, fine being the key word. I love racing, driving, anything involving driving and going fast, and the racing in this game does nothing for me. That leads me to thisI am a huge racing fan and have played most of the NFS games. Yes, I am aware this is an arcade style game, and I have played many other NFS games in the past and haven't had these complaints. I'll do a pro/con for this game, as that seems to be a popular way to review things.

    Pros: Well, sadly, I have to say one of the pros for me is that I purchased this for $28 with the gold discount, so I saved myself at least 20 bucks. I would have been pissed paying full retail. Ability to upgrade cars appearance and handing is also a plus, and have been improved since prior installments.

    The "fine" area: Most aspects of the game are just fine, such as the graphics, city layout, and cut scenes. Game looks good enough to not make you bring it up, but not good enough that you feel the need to go and tell people how amazing It looks. Same with the city. Reminding me of Forza Horizon map, with game missions be poorly set up, often finding yourself driving cross map for the next mission. Cut scenes are fine, they add a different touch and this is a video game after all who really cares that much, didn't make me dislike the game

    Cons: Driving is atrocious. I would like to say I am an experienced and very capable racer. This games driving has to be some of the worst I have ever experienced. Even with hours of practice, adjusting the handling settings every which way, the mechanics just plain suck. The controller lags behind your inputs, making weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds very challenging to do cleanly as you never feel in control of the car. YES, I am aware of this supposed to be an arcade racer, but it can be handled much better. Secondly, no pause button kind of sucks, especially early on when you try to read these paragraphs of information they pop out in front of you while you are driving, distracting the hell out of you. Thirdly, the phone calls are yes kind of annoying, but not as bad as the driving. Lastly, the requirement to always be online is definitely a minus, especially when their is no dedicated true multiplayer events, slightly detracts from the overall experience in my opinion.    … Expand

    Need for speed is a game I have looked forward too since 2012 and it is finally here lets start with the positives. The graphics are absolutely stunning not quite the level of driveclub but amazing nonetheless. The car roster and customization is incredible with 51 cars all deserving to be here with more coming with free updates and lots of parts for all (except for the Ferrari 458 andNeed for speed is a game I have looked forward too since 2012 and it is finally here lets start with the positives. The graphics are absolutely stunning not quite the level of driveclub but amazing nonetheless. The car roster and customization is incredible with 51 cars all deserving to be here with more coming with free updates and lots of parts for all (except for the Ferrari 458 and F40) it's great and you can really fine tune these cars. The driving is actually pretty good if you want drift tune to drift if you want grip go for it. Now the negatives. The story is pretty short and can have some cheesy Dialogue, after 5 minutes I wanted to punch spike in the face he is by far one of the worst characters ever. Also the Rep system is pretty cool but its way too fast to level up. Day one one of my friends had an aventador and was level 41 which is kind of crazy. Lastly the always online feature can be a bit annoying even though we have dedicated servers, me and some of my friends lagged out maybe it was because day one but still there was a beta for this. So to conclude Need for Speed is a fine game with beautiful graphics, nice driving and great customization but is brought down my a short story easy progression system and bad servers.… Expand

Need For Speed 2015 brings back the best of the open world driving of the first Most Wanted, and ups the cheese factor.

    Graphically, Need For Speed is one of the prettiest games I’ve ever seen on the PS4. Ghost took the Frostbite engine, which powers all of Dice’s games including Battlefield and the new Star Wars Battlefront, and created a beautiful fictional city with some of the best car models in any game, ever. The beauty of the game is helped along by full-motion cutscenes that digitally add your car into the background of some of the scenes. While live action cutscenes are cool, sometimes the cheese factor with the actors playing to the camera is greatly increased. With Need For Speed, bring along some macaroni noodles, as there’s more cheese than a broke college student knows what to do with.

    When you first meet Spike, he seems like a really pumped guy who only wants to race. But after the third or fourth fist bump from him he starts to get on your nerves. His wackiness and obsession with the Speed king Magnus Walker makes the girls with Bieber fever look normal. That right there is one of the issues with this reboot of the once-great racing franchise. Every character in the so-called “story” is obsessed with the king of their respective discipline.

    Manu, the drifter, is driven by a cool mind that yearns for the attention of Ken Block, the big name for this iteration. While the drifting events are usually very easy to complete if you spend more than two seconds tuning your car in the garage, the gymkhana events that come later on are a test of patience and skill, but mostly your will to not throw your controller halfway across the room after just lightly scraping the wall during a big drift and losing your points. Combining speed and drifting into one event sounds like a great idea, but getting that right balance figured out is way too much work for a fairly small payoff.

    Amy is the builder of the group, focused on creating the best overall cars that work in a number of events. Luckily, you are given the chance to change your setup in between events to find what works best for the different events that you will face going down Amy’s story. The master builder, Nakai-San, a Japanese builder who created one of the prettiest 1972 Porsche RWBs I’ve ever seen.

    Robyn is the Crew-focused driver, where driving with other drivers gets you points. Most of the events in this path line are Drift Trains, where you have to keep up with an A.I. system that takes rubber-banding to the extreme, and more Race- style events. Robyn’s looking for acceptance from the Risky Devil crew, who are all about leaving everything out on the streets and wearing your scars as pride.

    Travis is the most secretive of the group, and also (at least by appearance) the oldest. His story is focused on the Outlaw branch, where breaking every law in the book is actively encouraged. Every one of the races in this branch will in some way run into the police, who are also powered by an A.I. that gives them one hell of a catch-up boost. Escaping the police is easiest if you happen to have a fast car, as even though the police can catch up to any of the cars, you can eventually power past them with brute speed. The head Outlaw, Morohoshi-San, drives one of the meanest Lambos ever built.

    The bosses are hard but fair. If you screw up, whether it be your fault or the traffic that seems to magically spawn in front of you when going through an intersection, there’s almost no hope of catching them to win the races. Luckily, you usually only have to complete the races to finish the objectives.

    The A.I. system that I alluded to earlier seem to have a very fast rubber band attached to you at all times. It can be a good thing, as it allows you to catch up right at the end, but it also means that even in the fastest car that you can build you will have a challenge to win the race. My 1000+ horsepower Lamborghini had a hard time winning races over Amy’s little Nissan 180z. This system can be fun at times as it offers a challenge in the races, but it can get really annoying as well, when you lose races that you should’ve clearly won any day of the week.

    All in all, Need For Speed 2015 puts this franchise back onto the rails headed in the right direction, it just fails to give it the initial push that it needs. Even though this games looks absolutely stunning, the cheesy story and rough systems make this game one that is easily skippable, especially in a month that includes Fallout, Tomb Raider, and a new Call of Duty.    … Expand

    This game looks amazing and the customization is out of this world! Its a decent arcade racing game and its pretty fun. However, the AI for driving could be a bit better and the cutscenes are just so cringeworthy. Also the always online, server problems and not being able to pause is a terrible idea! Overall, its a fun game, but I would not buy this again if I had the chance.

    - You cannot skip the poorly acted cut scenes.
    - Your in game phone is constantly ringing and it is just annoying.
    - The cops do not give a decent chase what so ever. After NFS: Hot Pursuit these police are very disappointing.

    Driving is not as bad as everyone is saying, it is a real arcade racer.

    Short-ish story line, even after the "Eddy" update.

    "Always online" gave me problems a few times and does not add anything to the game.

    Overall: fun arcade game

    Overall, the new NFS is not bad. It is certainly one of the better recent years. I was playing great, I graduated with pleasure to the very end. Carbon loved you'll love NFS2015. The graphics are excellent. Driving model is artificial but pleasant. I would give 8 but there is no normal multiplayer mode. Too bad.

    Since i have just finished the game i thought i would do a review about it. I wouldn't say i was disappointed but i wouldn't say this was an amazing game.

You would be doing a really intense high speed race then (RKO) out of nowhere *ring ring.... ring ring* RAGEEEEEEEEEE!

    Now its time for the dreaded drift train race. I enjoyed doing all different races apart from this one. On most times i was forced to restart the event because of the useless horrible AI that kept taking me out and ruining my drift score. When you're trailing behind the racers they go so slow that you're forced to overtake them so you can build up enough speed to get a decent drift score on a corner but because of this "rubber band" none-sense the AI decide to pick up speed because you're ahead and take you out with your drift score. It got to the point where i just had no interest what so ever in doing these races at all.

    The graphics are unbelievable on this game with the street and car lights reflecting off the wet roads and the rain effects on your car is one of the highlights for me. I haven't really seen graphics this good before on any other game so far.
    For me though one of the great things about this game is the customization on the cars, as a big fan of Forza series and Test Drive Unlimited 2 customization is one of the things i truely love about racing games and Need For Speed just it perfectly. I have already spent many many hours just messing about with customizing the many cars you can buy.

    Overall i would say this is an average game. They are heading in the right direction but many things and features still have room for improvement.    … Expand

The fact you can only race at night also cuts its potential in half, its nice to admire your car and the city in the morning when its lighter, but it only lasts for a few moments. Then once you start racing with said car the game really starts coming together. Seeing your creation in motion is awesome and usually inspires you to go buy another car and do it all over And you will need to in the game. It has multiple types of races from Circuit,Sprint,Drift,Drift Train and so much more, So it can be hard trying to build one car that can do it all. The Driving in NFS is defiantly something more related to a arcade racing game but is still enjoyable. Fans of more realistic driving games may find it hard at first to adjust. The streets you race on seem to always be wet or it's raining so drifting and sliding around cars and corners is easy and fun buy at times in the wrong car or turn things become difficult. Later in the game you can run into some extremely uneven races and challenges that may become frustrating and sadly trying to "Restart" A race just makes you reload to before the race start and then load the race all over again, This becomes Extremely frustrating after only a few times and is a major oversight. The story to the game isn't very interesting and is told thought live action cinematics like previous games and sadly almost every-time the actors are horrible and it's no different this time around. The game also forces you to always be online so you can't pause the game and if you ever lose internet in the middle of a race...well to bad.

But online is absolutly garbage and the events are fun but they get destroyed by the rubberbanding. The customatization is really great just like how the cars sound.     Not perfect but it's a step in the right direction to go back to its roots as a low tier street racer. Starting off with the ol Civics, Skylines and S15s bring back fond memories. The visuals are top notch although the framerate drops still are noticeable every now and then. Just a    Played Underground, U2, Most Wanted (PS2), Pro Street, Most Wanted (PS3) so I know the franchise well.

Performance parts are on par with other nfs games however you some parts require you to complete certain races before they are unlocked. Visual customization is also lacking.     Game play is fun with exceptional graphics, but it is pretty easy to beat most opponents. The AI is lacking especially the cops. I have never once been pulled over. I can completely wreck my car in front of them and still not get arrested. I have even witnessed cops spawning out of thin air right in front of me. Like other NFS games you are able to do races in any order which i like but it does mess with the cut scene/storyline in this game; most of which are pointless.

    The drag train races are very difficult too. For one handling is good at best but if you do these races out of order your car has way more power than your crew who you need to stay by for earn points. This genre of race needs more work to be successful. Other in game experiences that need improvement are map markings. It is near impossible to tell if you have collected or finished something as the icons always appear. The one sure way of knowing is by driving to the location and see if there is a check mark on the symbol or not. This should be added to the map. Another feature of the original game i missed is the addition of shortcuts. They are nonexistent .

    Overall this game is a decent try and revamping the original underground series but it needs some serious improvements to live up to the original. If you judge the game by itself overall its not horrible but its not the best. It is enjoyable and looks great but you have to overlook some of the flaws to get the most out of it. If your a fan of the series its worth a look but not at full retail price.    … Expand

    Unfortunately graphics and decently fun races are hampered down by pretty much everything else. First off this game focuses entirely too much on drifting and hooning to the point where it doesn't feel like a NFS game anymore. Drifting has some of the worst mechanic's ever in any racing game and has one of the most annoying race types ever; Drift Train. Drift Train requires you to stay close to the pack of racers and drift to gain points and if you venture too far ahead or behind you cannot accumulate any points, it's stupid.

    Another huge annoyance in this game is definitely the A.I. I find it to be just as bad as Need For Speed Underground 1's A.I. due to the incredibly unfair rubber band A.I. (and this is apparently after it was toned down a bit.... yeah right!). It doesn't matter how upgraded your car is, the computer controlled cars will always be right there behind you waiting for you to slip up on one turn so they can blow by you and get ridiculous distance on you to the point where it seems impossible to catch them at all.

    It has other small annoyances like awful physics (tap a wall, you wreck while other times you bounce..), cheesy live action cut-scenes, lackluster soundtrack, unfair challenges, and having to online at all times that overall just make the game less fun the more you progress through the game.

    Hopefully one day a patch will be implemented to fix some of these annoyances (especially the A.I.!), but until then I'm going to keep this game deleted off of my PS4 and venture off to other racing games instead. Buy this game at your own risk.    … Expand

    Unquestionably a failure part. My main claim will be to physics. It is unfortunate that EA forces all its studios to develop games on Frostbite. This engine is not suitable for racing. It comes to the fact that on some machines it is impossible to travel. And it seems that such a fate awaits Payback. EA killed the legendary series.

I had no problem beating the game with the Foxbody and the steering was perfect.     Good driving game but lot of problems: In Rivals occasionally you would get stopped while the world loaded in front of you. All the action would freeze for a few moments until the system "caught up". This worked great. For some stupid reason, in NFS it happens ALOT and now you fall off the "world" into blackness which results in another huge load screen. You load the game up and it takes about 1-2 min to load your garage. You then hit escape to leave the garage and its another 2-3 min load screen (around 2 min prob). You get driving which is good.. but don't go too fast or the world stops rendering and you fall off and crash (which ruins your race) as you go to another load screen for about a minute (which came off your time if you were in a race/time trial etc)
    Just strange design decisions and I'm also running on top end system (1080GTX, 8 core 4.2ghz processor, `16 GB RAM) Game was also stuttering every few seconds which would drive anyone crazy who is trying to drive at 200+ mph through city streets.. turned out I had to disable Origin in game.
    Its a good game it just seems like they put alot of intentional garbage in there to keep you from enjoying it. Also there are no more random AI racers in the world that you can challenge. Only people you can challenge now are actual people online. Being online though isnt bad.. hasn't given me any problems.    … Expand

    The driving feels very good in this game. Visuals are preety nice, and campaign at least has better story then Rivals. Sometimes AI is very bad,but not frustrating. But in the campaign, EVERY SINGLE character is so cringe, that is so hard to watch those cutscenes.

Of course, they have let go of the latter option years ago in spite of pure laziness. This mandatory internet connection that has been done is so users wouldn't need to update it periodically I presume. What does this mean for the longevity of this title then? Once the servers are gone, this game is history. They don't care about the nostalgia this game could create in the later years. Even then, what if my internet goes down? Unplayable once more. That's because they knew this game wasn't going to be great.

    It really, really isn't great. For a game that garnered a lot of attention because of the return of deep car customisation, the game quite literally centers around deep car customisation. The soundtrack in this game cannot be altered as well as the controls, so when both is put together having the skip track functionality only triggered by the L3 button, it highlights how diabolical this problem is. Did they not realise the left analogue stick is also used to steer the vehicle? It's a recipe for destruction when I drive at high speeds. Not being able to configure either functionalities to my desire, especially the latter, makes me feel angry and really frustrated. They do more harm than good, genuinely counterproductive if they were going for simplicity. Pausing is also unavailable in the game too, self-explanatory in the sense that it is only playable online. This new culture these developers have started since Rivals in efforts to make their games more realistic is just pitiful. In actuality, all it achieves - and I'm sure they'll keep it in the future - is irritating the heck out of us gamers when we need to take time out for something potentially urgent.

    The problems haven't stopped there. No way. The infinitesimal car limit the developers placed in the garage, is nothing short of laughable. I couldn't believe it when I realised I hit the limit so quickly. A maximum of 10 cars - what a shambolic figure. Again, do they not think about the longevity of the game? Its main selling point as I've said before is customisation, so obviously possessing huge car collections is very much inevitable for a lot of gamers, including me. I put hours into each of these cars to make them rock aesthetically, so to quickly reach the ceiling and be forced to trash them because of this tiny limit makes me shudder, almost in a state of cringe. There's over fifty different cars in the game, give the user a freaking choice whether they want to hoard them or not. Do they really think gamers enjoy trashing cars that they've put effort in modifying over and over again just to barely fit in their next target car? They have no excuse for this. Saving hard drive space on the overall game is not a valid reason - a few gigs to push up the car limit to maybe 25 to 30 would suffice. Nothing short of an abysmal decision by the developers.

    The story isn't as cringy as a lot of the folks here are making it out to be, I mean it is sub-par but I saw that coming from a mile away. It is okay. The calls are really annoying though when I don't pick them up the first time - a way to mute them in the options bar would help. The climax of the story however is incredibly forgettable. Leaves a massive patch of emptiness in me, honestly.

    Positives include the overall gameplay, it is pretty sound so I'm not sure why the others here are moaning about how difficult it is to control the cars. I can't find many problems with it. Tearing streets down with raw speed during free roams are also cool, especially with the night settings carved and shaped beautifully by the gorgeous graphics. It doesn't need to be raining all the time though. Hurts some of the authenticity of the gameplay. Customisation is also fantastic, plenty of things to do again just like the days of NFS Underground and its successor. Body kits, vinyls, the game is stacked full of them. Only issue here is that the availability of the installations need to be more consistent over all the vehicles, being unable to change something as simple as the headlights and taillights for some of the cars with all due respect, is quite annoying.

    Tuning also plays a bigger role in this game than its predecessors, it impacts the performances of these cars a lot more than before. Mostly good, I really like the significant effect it has on the driving mechanics. My gripe with this is being unable to tune anything related to the speed of the cars. Acceleration and top speed are two key components I feel should have been tuneable in the game.

    Function wise, the worst NFS I've ever played. Elsewhere, there are positives to take from.    … Expand

    Sometimes EA Games releases a new series of NFS game which is not as good as previous one and this is the case. This is an attempt to add Underground style to Rivals and that's it. I didn't like the story, too naive and the scenes are pretty boring. Anyways this is something I play right now waiting for the new one.

    Good compaing, exelent tune options, but VERY, VERY BAD community.

    It's a good game until you try the multiplier. The community even worse than in cs. And as you know cs community are bad, but no that bad like NFS.

    But i still think that is one of the beast NFS, because there are a lot of option to do, a lot of settings, to set you car as you wish.

    If you like avoiding oncoming traffic in every race, constantly smashing into cars that show up in every single one of your drift lines like clockwork, or unresponsive, ridiculously difficult to control cars... If your idea of fun is spending hours tinkering with dozens of unintuitive "tuning" settings rather than actually driving, then this is the game for you.

The AI is a big problem in this game especially with their 'rubber band'. No matter how fast and far and how well you're doing, they'll always catch up.     I just paid 10 dollars for this game and it is okay and I'm glad not have paid full prize. This game is okay, very nice graphics and details, very neat! The driving is plain, you don't feel the car that much and I did not like the way the blue lines tells you where to go. It is misleading and it does not allow to take the race lines properly.     This game lack of challenge. So you finish the game and it's like you got a glimpse of what it is. There's no challenge at all. Thankfully once you end this game, you unlock new challenges and those are very very hard, Drifting is the one that got me stuck for hours to get gold in some events. But it's a shame that you have to finish the game to get serious challenge. Online is what you expect and finally the cops, very easy, not a challenge at all, no updates there, this game never needed cops and been added (don't know why - "yeeeay we got cops here") - BAD.    … Expand

I found the gaming experience decent but there are so many better games on PS4 ....I felt that Need for Speed has only one racing track (always rainy, dark, in an urban setting) which pales compare to games like Trackmania Turbo or Forza Motorsport who offer more variety.     La historia es buena pero hay veces que te quedas un poco WTF por las cosas raras que llegan a hacer los coches, y hablando de coches... Pues no hay muchos, la personalización de prestaciones es buena, ya no es una moneda al aire cada vez que vas a una carrera en multijugador, por todo esto no le puedo dar menos nota que a Rivals.

    Need for Speed looks the part, sounds the part, and is surprisingly reverent to real-world car culture. I like the direction Ghost has taken here, and I think it’s the right one, but beneath its flashy exterior it's not quite firing on all cylinders.

    All in all, the game does give you the vibe of nfsu2. Going in to it i expected very amazing visual customisation of cars. Sadly barely few cars had nfsu2 level of visual customisation. I was very saddened by it, but in the end the ones that could be were amazing to tune. Major problem is that this game is online only, the loading times are horrendous and if you want to play in your ownAll in all, the game does give you the vibe of nfsu2. Going in to it i expected very amazing visual customisation of cars. Sadly barely few cars had nfsu2 level of visual customisation. I was very saddened by it, but in the end the ones that could be were amazing to tune. Major problem is that this game is online only, the loading times are horrendous and if you want to play in your own map you have to suffer though 2 loading screens, after that you do forget about it because you load in to a map that looks stunning. Rain falling on your roof when you turn of the engine, just amazing. Cars sound nice, driving tho took some getting used to as I was trying to find the sweet spot of handling versus drift. After a while, when you get more cars set up its enough to have your older ones set up only for drifting. The other IMO even worse thing was the money, i wanted to immerse myself in to car tuning not grinding for money with my old drift bmw on a hard drift track that gave 8k each time i finished it. Story is fine enough, i would have gone for more nfsu2 thing, but more in depth.… Expand

    Nice story with real actors and stars from car culture, pretty cool car customization, nice car physics witch can be easily tuned for grip or drift. Nice looking city, yeah it’s small but it beautiful. Nice ost, and there is a lot free content witch was released after game launched

This game tries to bring back same aspects from the Undergroud, Most Wanted and Hot Pursuit series, but there is some lack of heart during the game, which is something found in the Underground 2 and Most Wanted 2005 for example. You basically can finish the game without major pursuits or stress with the police, the cut-offs to play the live action for the main story are terribly boring... no tension in the history, same boring scenes with no sense during the whole game and unfortunately the addition of all the professional drivers in the live-action don't save that. AI for the events is not that great and the overall history can be easily finished, there are more fun in on-line mode, for example.

    Cons
    - Missing the measure of the distance from my car and the next one (in seconds);
    - Poor variety for visual customization (poor amount of different parts, wheels, spoilers, etc.);
    - All the cars have basically the same performance after all upgrades;
    - The cars have a serious issue to perform the turns in the game.
    - Traps everywhere, every turn, specially when the fun is happening.

    Pros
    - Model fidelity of the Cars, beautiful and stunning (even the Active Aero Spoiler in Aventador automatically moves-up during high speeds);
    - The physics are good and the handling is nice (despite the performing turns issue);
    - Right size and distance proportion between cars, streets, corners, obstacles, etc;
    - City visual and construction (buildings, bridges, highways, etc.);
    - Expectation (you will expect something during the whole game, which gives you reason to play);

    Overall speaking, the game brings some fun, but could be much better.    … Expand

    - ИИ полицейских (они бесполезные, не доставляют почти никаких проблем, если ты не в гонке; заграждения появляются редко, оторваться от копов - дело 20 секунд)
    - необходимость в постоянном подключении к интернету (даже если играешь только в одиночный режим; частые разрывы соединения)

    Может не понравиться:
    = вечная ночь (к середине игры надоедает)
    = тюнинг (на первый взгляд он может показаться очень детальным, но далеко не все машины обладают всеми деталями тюнинга)
    = гараж всего на 10 мест (5 в гараже + 5 на складе)
    = нитро почти ничего не даёт (возможно я не прав, но на настройке "мощность" прироста в скорости не ощущается)

    Итог: атмосфера уличных гонок передана отлично, но управление чересчур непривычное (по сравнению с прошлыми частями NFS)    … Expand

The cutscenes are real-life, which is good, they hold to their roots, but within those cutscenes, you'll not find anything useful, just some cringy scenes with no sense whatsoever. Also what you'll realise is the more the powerful is the car (without upgrades), the less are the appearance options, but this is not the far more irritating thing in this game. The worst thing here which does affect the gameplay itself are the cops, they're slow, you will have to go for a search quest to find them, there will be always one cop in the police station, but there is almost no backup units, most of the time only 1 cop will chase you, before you realise how slow and bad they are. During the whole game, I haven't been in any situation where they almost got me, you have to use the worst car if you want them to catch you. Speaking of bad things, you have to always be online, which can be irritating for those with bad or no internet connection, if you want to play this game somewhere with no internet connection, well..., you can't and yes, if you encounter a bad connection during gameplay, the game will kick you out on the main menu.

    All in all, the game itself needs many improvements, the cops and always-be-online are the worst problems, the background story is bad, and this leaves you with only one thing you can enjoy within the game, which are the graphics, still not used to its highest potential, such a shame.    … Expand
