It adds dirt, drag, runner and drift specific cars alongside suvs and pickups. The map would replace Las Vegas on a map of America. There are some graphical errors in cutscenes and the likes, but it has just been released so that is to be expected. It has a blockbuster plot in a regular story. It has derelicts which work like forza's barn finds or the crew's hidden cars and are early throughout the story progression. It has a wild variety of cars, from muscle cars to suvs. Overall a great purchase. The only thing I find wrong with the game is the multiplayer, which lacks online free roam with pals (temporary system in place) and the lack of drift drag and runner events, it also has a level restriction of 275. By the time most players have completed the story the problems will probably been amended. Completion of the story requires a level 350 car in off-road and race anyway, so the level restriction doesn't affect you if you play the story first. The part 'roulette' system allows players to upgrade the car with specific bonuses or attributes to each part without spending standard currency. The shipments are in the game for the sole purpose of spin tokens and vanity items (tire smoke, horns, underglow, nos colour, air suspension) but also give some money to sweeten the deal. The reason the money in shipments feels like a lot is because they are usually opened in bulk. 10/10 Expand

I don't even mind the stupid lootboxes and slot machine stuff that much, but honestly.. this whole game is just a poorly made hybrid of the worst parts of The Fast and the Furious mixed with Forza Horizon with a dash of that feeling you get when you buy a dollar store rip off of something. The story in this game is goofy as **** I literally could not stop cringing as I played it. I know that it's not supposed to be over the top vulgar so that they can keep that T rating, a lot of kids play Need For Speed (I know I did when I was younger), but oh my God who wrote this dialogue? I feel like they hired some 8 to 10 year olds and said "do your best! As long as you try REAL hard that'll be good enough!" It is the most painful, unrealistic, **** I've ever seen in a game. That's not even my main problem though, I'm playing mine on a regular Xbox One and it looks and runs awful. I don't know if it's just my copy of the game, or my console, or what. But there are major issues with it. The load times are insanely long, AI civilian drivers just sit there and are stuck to the road (and you can drive through them?) about 50% of the time, the textures don't load for a good minute and a half if not more, leaving everything looking just awful. There are times where checkpoints don't load properly as well and I've had to completely exit the game and restart it to fix it. I liked the fact that you can customize more on your cars like you used to be able to, but that for me was the ONLY redeeming quality. I can barely give it that because of how much of a pain it is to unlock any customization. Need For Speed 2015 was absolute garbage, and this game is no better. It's safe to say that I will never buy another Need For Speed game. I loved them when I was a kid. Most Wanted and Underground 1 and 2 were amazing. It's sad that developers have no ****ing idea what they're doing anymore.. Games this bad make me want to stop playing video games entirely. In no way, shape, or form could I ever recommend this to anyone. Expand

Some races I really hate to play over and over again to get the upgrades I need to make my car better. But I can finish races well below the recommend level. I also hate that you have to complete challenges to unlock certain customization parts, which really bothers me. But overall, I think this game is great! The car list is way better than the last Need for Speed game. The customization adds tire smoke, under glow, and nitrous color which is a warm welcome considering we haven't had customization as close to Underground 2 in quite some time. Money is easy to get with the new addition to side bets. And the cars are easy to control. I recommend getting this game to anybody looking for a new racing game. However, I cannot recommend at buying this at a full price due to a look box system and the card upgrade system. Get this when it comes on sale. Expand

That said, this weekend I got bored and decided to buy it anyway, and I'm happy I did. I've played 22 hours this weekend (a testament to how fun I find the game) and while I have had some performance hitches here and there, a few crashes and a couple glitches, it's not been enough to make me not want to just get into the game and play it.

The story is dumb and most of the voice acting is terrible. I also don't care for how the drivers sometimes make comments while I'm driving in races, but when actually playing the game the story and voice acting isn't nearly as annoying as I thought it'd be watching videos. I also don't find any issue with the progression, as the only time I've had to grind races is when I've bought a new lower end car I want to build up to be better, and I have NEVER felt like I needed to spend money on crates, as I get plenty of resources by trading in cards, racing or just buying upgrades from the Tuner. If I wanted to avoid any grind whatsoever I could just go and buy a car from the dealership with a base rating as high or higher than recommended for a race, as money piles up easily (I usually have over 1 million in the bank at any time). I also find that you don't always have to match the rating of a race to win. I have beaten races while being over 30 ranks under the recommended level multiple times, although not all race types are as easy to do that with.

I actually also enjoy the card system, as it gives me something to work for instead of just buying the best parts and being done with it, it gives me that loot grind fix (but it's not a bad loot grind). I like the driving model also, it's not realistic, but I can feel the difference between cars and I definitely have to tune some of them to get them to drive the best, like my drift car.

The graphics looks excellent also, and I love the customization system, which was one of the things that pushed me to get the game, as I had loaded up The Crew again for something to play and was frustrated with the lack of choice on visual for some of the cars.

All in all, it's a good game, and not nearly as bad as a lot of reviews make it out to be. I get the impression some of at least the more professional reviewers tried to blitz through the game/story as fast as possible to meet deadlines instead of just playing and enjoying the game, in which case I could see where they might have run into progression issues, especially if they didn't do a lot of trading in of cards they didn't want to just use card tokens to upgrade specific parts you want.

I also wonder how many of the people posting reviews on here have actually played the game vs basing their opinions on other reviews or just hopping on the EA hate train. I dislike the things EA does, and fear for Respawn, who makes some of my favorite games, but people who just blindly hate on a game because of the publisher without actually playing the game (if that is indeed happening) should be ignored.

Need for Speed - Payback should be more honestly named EAs Stockholders Need for Cash - Paycheck. Just like Battlefront 2 you either have to really grind to make any progress, or pay to win. The whole thing is designed as online gambling and should not be encouraged by spending your money on it.

I found this game a much better improvement than previous episodes. Others complain about the microtransactions, but obviously they haven't played this game much as they are not needed at all to progress well in the game. First game in a while where I've really enjoyed progressing through the game as there are various rewards where you can choose how to spend them. Was unsure when I saw the trading cards of performance, but it actually makes it more fun in my opinion. Also, the fact you have to grind more but not unreasonably so, is great, makes it more meaningful when I win a race. Other people I guess want things to be a lot more easier which is a shame as I would get bored very quickly otherwise.
The storyline is better than I thought, still cheesy but there are different race categories, drag, offroad, runner etc. and different sorts of missions which make it fun. The characters are again cheesy, average but it makes it more exciting compared to need for speed rivals where there are no faces at all, and just felt empty. Also love finding derelict cars in the middle of the map and finding their parts to create them.
Multiplayer is also fun, have the speedlists so you play multiple events at a time with the same players, which I really enjoyed from need for speed most wanted 2012.
Visuals are again beautiful, and love the customization options of the cars. Best part is the picture mode, where you can screenshot any moment, so when you are jumping you can take a picture of the car in the air which is really cool.
One thing I think would need improvement is meaningful locations, I do miss places which have cool hidden parts to it or ramps, haven't found them as interesting in this game. But obviously they worked really hard at getting offroad stuff working well instead of being stuck behind barriers.
Overall a solid racing game with great mechanics and scenery, and an enjoyable cheesy storyline.

It was abit grindy sometimes where I had to repeat a race like 20 times to actually win ( Was one or two rally races I found pretty hard), and my car level was just about correct. And yes I played only on hard, even though thoughts did come after repeating a race alot of changing to medium, but I managed to hanlde that pressure and didnt change to medium lol II enjoyed single player. The fact that I had to do it 20 times doesnt neccesarily mean I didnt like it, yes I got fairly mad at times, but in the long run I am quite happy about the face that it was tough. Im upset that there are only like 5-6 story type missions, where in between them there are the same races, but that isnt necessarily bad either tbh, but they could have made it longer. I play on high settings and I didn ejoy the graphics, they are medium yes but they arent bad either, Id say they are good enough for 2017. The cars, the tuning the design I really enjoyed.. and I really hope they will add more cars soon. And they lost some rating from me for adding stupid card system for tuning your car, it was alot better even in NFS 2015.
So either way il give the single player mode a 7/10 rating.

The multiplayer mode, oh my god, I generally never thought that Need for Speed multiplayer racing could be so horrible, the lags when somebody is right behind you, and flips you out off the road, even though on your screen he didnt even touch you, the ridiculous balancing system, and the fact that there are only two types of races and no FREE ROAM.
Regarding the free roam topic, first of all on the official site there was information, before release, that you will be able to free roam with your friends. Then they just edited it out right before release... Like what does that make them? Is that not fraud? If thats not fraud I dont what else is to be honest. Because to be honest that was one of my main reasons of purchasing the game, and thank god that I didnt buy the deluxe version.

    " Multiplayer
Hit the streets and race to win. Take on challengers from all around the world as you compete to be the best.
Compete in Speedlists, which are free events against friends, or challenge other players in Free Roam. There are two types of Speedlists:
Casual: Casual Speedlists are 5-event tournaments. The best player is crowned at the end.
Ranked: Ranked Speedlists track the performance of each player on a competitive ranking system."
My rating for the need for speed multiplayer experience is 2/10. and 2 for the fact that it even exists....
The customer support on EA is absolutly horribe, they have huge topics of people commenting the past week, and they dont even react, they cant even answer any questions, will there be the promised freeroam or not, I would understand if they told us " yes guys, it will be in a months time" Or somethoing, or even " No it wont be, we had problems" at least then I wouldnt have to waste my time waiting for it!!!!!

    Ok story mode.
    Terrible multiplayer.

I like to grind for some things but this grind is far and beyond unacceptable.

The handling is good and the graphics are good, but graphics do have some issues sometimes and the draw distance seems to get messed up frequently.

It's amazing that anyone would give this game above a 3. All of the user reviews that gave this game 9 and 10 are probably some company that EA hired out of India to give fake positive reviews from some unclean computer farm for a small fee. Almost every single person that gave this game a 10 has only 1 review for a game on metacritic....and that's NFS Payback.

EA never ceases to amaze. After this and Battlefront 2s epic failure, I can easily see EA as the top hated company in the world once again after this miserable excuse of a racing game.

Game isnt perfect, but it certainly does not feel like it deserves below a 7. This game not only improved on certain aspects of 2015 but gave a lot more with its map, events and story. Only main complaints should be about no freeroam cops and no online freeroam and in a way the upgrading system. This game is a solid 8/10. Reason im giving it a 10 is because of unfair scores on this game.

    My last EA game ever.
The loot system is really annoying. You cannot finish the campaign without replaying old races /which are not so easy/ or buy, with real money, loot boxes to upgrade your car. The races are not fun, the AI is too aggressive, and too fast at the beginning, only to slow down at the end. The races are difficult cos they want you to buy those loot crates for upgrades.

Last good NFS was the original most wanted. I did not buy this game, I borrowed it to make a review. I do not buy any EA games period!

First hour of the game is boring and made me want to quit. After that it picks up a bit. I was actually having fun. That changed quickly. Those who are giving this game a good score, are idiots. Progressing thru the game doesn't unlock better parts.

Progressing thru the game doesn't unlock better parts. It gives you random "speed cards." You can use these cards to only upgrade the car that you were driving at the time. you can't use them for any other car. This means, you have to grind every car you own from stock to top tier individually. You have to play the same couple of tracks over and over and over. You can go to an upgrade shop but you can't buy top tier cards although you unlocked them already for another car. You can use a slot machine to randomly give you a better card but this takes card tokens. They are not infinite.

Can't people see what they are trying to do here? They created this grind wall to try to make you spend money to get past it!

Why some reviewers are defending this **** is beyond me. There isn't any deep customization. Few bumpers and wing mirrors. Couple spoilers, side skirts and exhaust tips, you get the point. One "super build" option that is just like those full body kits in underground series and in most wanted. It is so obvious that no effort what so ever was put in to this.

If the game would have that deep customization that we were promised once again and it didn't have an idiotic rubber band ai which everybody hates and if it had sh't ton of actual upgrade parts that you unlock thru progression and if it had free roam cops.. this would be a good nfs title. There isn't even local multiplayer option? In a racing game!?

    EA can suck my d'ck!

A disturbing trend, is occuring in the games industry. It seems this year the likes of EA, activision, warner bros are trying their level best to destroy not only their intellectual properties but the relationship they have with the gaming community.

Case in point here is need for speed payback, potentially a great racing game with tantalising vistas to speed through and wreak havoc.

However, EA and a certain andrew wilson, the ceo of electronic arts. Have taken it upon themselves to add progression models that are so tough and boring that you feel compelled to use their quick pay to win loot box system.

Now personally i do not see the point of playing video games if they are not fun, also if a game leaves a nasty taste in my mouth from not only the outrageous up front cost but from the sheer gaul of a publisher to ask for further money when i get the game home. Then number one i will not buy from that publisher again and number two i will encourage all my fellow gamers to boycott said publisher.

Around 8 to 10 years ago DLC became a reality and a lot of stink was raised about them, at the time we joked about things like this "soon we will be paying for outfits and guns and even level progression ha ha" well here we are in 2017 and those things are essentially a reality. People bought dlc no matter how absurd it was, this has given publishers the green light to how shall i say this "rip you off" with micro transactions.

EA last year made 630 million dollars from FUT within fifa, now im sorry but that is a hell of a lot of people and some kids essentially gambling, so when i see public reviewers stating games like nfs payback are great and ignore the naysayers i cry foul and suspect they are either extremely rich and/or Electronic arts employees.

This lootbox microtransaction scenario has to stop otherwise all our future games will be similarly ruined and i fear the gaming industry as a whole with it.

Vote with your wallets and do not buy this or any other game that features such cynical profiteering within its code.

When you play it, you know it's an excellent game! The Ghost Games really listen to their fans, and we basically got a game that NFS 2015 should be. Also, people are bashing the game for it's microtransactions, these are TOTALLY SKIPPABLE, and they only give you some "misc" items, such as: neons, horn sounds, nitrous colour, tire smoke colour, some money, and tokens. The speedcards are getting hated on too, and I don't know why. They are just a normal upgrade system (if not better) that is called cards becuase after finishng a race you can choose one of 3 cards that will give A FREE CAR PART! (and I'm talking about car parts like: engine, ecu, nos, etc.). You don't have to grind really hard either. The grind system is similar to what we've got back in 2005 when NFS MW dropped out. If you don't want to race for better car parts, you can just go to the "Tune Up Shop" which allows you to BUY PARTS FOR YOUR CAR BY INGAME MONEY! YEAH! INGAME! YOU DON'T NEED TO GET YOUR REAL MONEY GET THROWN IN THE SCREEN TO BE ABLE TO TUNE UP YOUR RIDE! Like I said earlier, the real money will get you these "misc" parts (neons, tire smoke colour, etc.) only. These car parts aren't available for "a small loan of million dollars", they are for like 15K-30K which you can easily get after finishing 4 races even from the start of the game! And later you get better money so there is barely any grinding. It's a VERY SOLID GAME that I enjoy every milisecond of playing it! If you don't believe, then just go buy it and try it for yourself. There's no way you'll not enjoy this game, unless you're blind or something! Solid 10/10.

    EDIT:

The visual customization system is hated by some people too! That's also completely iditotic to hate it, becuase it makes you drive, and spend more time on the game, which is good. You unlock these by doing car stunts, such as: "Drive at 282 Km/h for 3s", or "Get a 2x bonus" (from doing car stunts).

Compared to NFS 2015, Need for Speed Payback is in all aspect better. The gameplay is much, much better here than on 2015. Whereas in 2015 each tight corners could mean a crash animation, here the game is much more open and, even if it has a load of nice sharp turns, it never feels cheap or frustrating to hit a wall. In 2015 the walls were way too unforgiving and even STICKY. You hitted a wall just by the sides and your car could make 3 barrel rolls and you loss a lot of time. Here, you can literally grind the walls and it results in much less frustrating errors.

The graphics are still top notch, even if there's no rain effect. The cars look beautiful as ever and the lighting effects are very beautiful.

Yes, there's a grinding mechanism in the game design, but it's far from making it bad. It's different and I get why people are crying over that change, but I personnally don't mind. It's just like in The Crew. For performance upgrades, you can wait for vendors to have good upgrades and then buy them, or you can throw away useless cards to use in a slot machine where you decide one category (part, manufacturer or perk (bonus)).

All in all, I truly think this is a good game. The story is what NFS has always been, so I don't know what people were expecting on that front. The soundtrack is really good and the online is pretty solid. I did 2 speedlist and no internet lag or anything. There's still a multiplayer free roam but it serves as a lobby for people to click ready up to start a new speedlist.

People are heavily bashing this game because first it has microtransactions (but there are microtransactions in almost every game now...) and second because it lacks evident originality.

The game doesn't feel unoriginal at all. It surely borrows from The Crew and Forza Horizon, but hey. Almost every great games of this generation (AAA) borrow from each other year after year.

Horizon Zero Dawn is a mix between Tomb Raider and Far Cry. The story is nothing groundbreaking. But hey, guess what. It has over 80 metascore. But you'll say : but the game's art direction is phenomenal. Well, the Avatar movie looks incredible too.

    7. Wheelie by car is awesome.
    7. Pause game (AT LAST after 4 years).

Ghost games worked so hard in rectifying previous game problems, that they created some more for future. I guess that gives them to make a new webpage before next game hahahaha.....

    CONS:-
    1. Character development is not good (except Mac and Marcus).
    2. Dialogues felt forced than acting.
    3. Point to point escape from cops was like Gauntlet from Hot Pursuit 2010.
    4. No cops in Freeroam (AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH..............).
    5. No freeroam with friends online. ( Another AAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH..............).
    6. Finally, this game was made so that nostalgic NFS fans like me would be ripped off money in its name. They brought elements from previous games only and mixed them together.

There was nothing new about how this game feels overall (I am not TALKING about graphics). Those games were awesome because they were new and felt different, not because they were NFS, duh.

After playing this game, it made me think to play previous NFS games and reminds me how good they were because they were unique. Maybe EA has changed from making a game that is awesome and fun to the game that just gives them money.

If you want to buy an arcade racing game, you have no other choice but to buy this, as there is no other good arcade racing game and I do feel sorry for you who has been waiting for a good NFS.

Loot box progression system is complete garbage tuned to force the player to buy instead of play. Also need for speed just hasn't felt right for a while, it always feels like there trying to make the biggest hit instead of a good fun game.

SMH no need for speed will ever outmatch NFS undercover “wii version”

After few initial hours I was ready to give this game a 7. But soon after I hit PAYWALL. Yes, in SINGLE PLAYER GAME I hit PAYWALL. I was underpowered and game forced me to GRIND (yes, this is SINGLE PLAYER GAME) to get a faster card. And don't get me wrong. When price of 1 part equals 1/3 of ENTIRE NEW CAR You know there is something terrible wrong.

So, unless you want to buy PAYback

So, unless you want to buy PAYback for 60$ and then either grind up or pay more to have fun. I suggest you skip it. This thing should be in free 2 play, pay 2 win game and not in single player AAA title.

NFS PAYback looks nice, it's simple arcade, fun game with loot of features and car customization and BIG PAYWALL. I do not recommend this game. It's almost a scam.

Other than that, you will find that graphic is average, sound too. You won't find here a car simulator, game is far from that. Story is just terrible but that's the problem of all NFS games.

Sence then i have Played Literally Every NFS Game to be created and I can Honestly Say this is By far the Most Disappointing game Of not only the Series but the year of 2017 overall.

Instead of Listening to NFS Fans EA instead seems to have created what they feel is the new "Hot" Thing Right now. Players are forced to Sit through Hours of Cringe-Worthy Cinematics when all anyone wants to be doing is bloody racing.

while at its core the Driving is a Slight Improvement over previous Enrerys in the Series its Bogged down under so much Unnecessary Crap that it's VERY VERY hard to actually Enjoy the racing for what it is. a BS Broken Progression system designed to create an emphasis on Selling Loot Creates. A Complete Lack of Replayability Hamers EA's Need for you to Spend more money home even further. The Removal of by many accounts the best aspect of Modern NFS Games Actual Cop Chases.... Not These On Rails Go where we tell you to Go or you fail the "Race" Nonsense, An open world filled with nothing but Busywork with all of the Fun Striped out for a reason ill never understand.

This game had loads of potential But. ya........ EA screwed this game Hard..... in the Hopes that it in turn will force us (the Players) to Spend as much money as physically Posible.

What Really Hurts me is that EA will take this as NFS cant sell copies.... that its the NFS brand that is at fault..... God Forbid you made a game Players and Fans NEVER wanted.... If you wanted to make a Fast and Furious Inspired game it should have been the First movie in that franchise where the emphasis was still on street racing..... Remember EA.... that thing your games have Always been about.

I Prey there will be more NFS Games.... I Hope they will focus more on the Driving and less on well Everything Else....

For the Love of Got People..... Can we Just Get a Streetraceing Game.... It Doesn't need an "Involved" Story I just want to Race in a game with a proper Progression system where if I find a Car I like I never need to get rid of it to be competitive.

Overall This Version of NFS has alright Racing at its core.... But sadly you spend so little time actually Driving that it's very easy to Forget how good NFS driving could have been if EA focused on that Instead of the Mountains of Garbage they chose to through on Top of This Poor Game.

This game could have been great. All they had to do was build upon the strong base they had in Need for Speed (2015), however, for all of the positives of that game they've essentially wiped them away and changed it. This game is driven towards making you mindlessly grind for upgrade parts or spend real money (on top of the $60+ you've already spent) in order to keep your car competitive.

It's a bad system and is sleazy as hell.

This game is very unique compared to other NFS games in terms of game-play and customizations. It's also really fun to rip through the streets in the 65' Mustang.

-Why doesn't have this game Steering wheel support? NFS 2015 does have it and its basically the same game -The Multiplayer is rubbish, too, why cant you play the game coop like in NFS

Need for Speed Payback is easily one of the best games in some time in this franchise. The open world racing, and multiple racing types, bring a much needed breath of fresh air to this series as the player competes in various events throughout the game. The story, an intentionally campy revenge plot that is clearly inspired by various movies such as the Fast and the Furious and Gone inNeed for Speed Payback is easily one of the best games in some time in this franchise. The open world racing, and multiple racing types, bring a much needed breath of fresh air to this series as the player competes in various events throughout the game. The story, an intentionally campy revenge plot that is clearly inspired by various movies such as the Fast and the Furious and Gone in 60 Seconds is enjoyable both in its levels of camp, and diversity of mission. The racing leagues that you go against during your climb through the story also bring about their own level of depth to the game while also making many nods to the Need For Speed games of the past.

Customization is deeper than it ever has been in the past with many parts being able to mold themselves to others and thus increasing the combinations available to design your own unique vehicle. Coloring and vinyl wrap editing have also been improved making them easier to work with resulting in more varied and impressive designs. You do need to complete activities to unlock all the parts on the cars, but this will not take long in terms of game time and gives the player a chance to explore the world and learn about the activities available in Free Roam.

Multiplayer needs balancing and it would be nice to see the addition of tiers, or level limits, in order to balance the lobbies. There were connection issues during the games early release trial that Ghost is working to correct at this time which should improve the desirability of the online matches. An increase in various activities to complete in those online game modes would also improve on multiplayer.

There is the elephant in the room in that there is no online free roam in Need for Speed Payback unless you are in an online lobby and you do not “Ready” yourself. This is an oversight that was put in place due to miscommunication between fans and developers in which Ghost thought that fans just wanted to get right into the action and not have to hunt for the races. While this is accurate, it does not mean that the players don’t also want to drive about the map with their friends and just have random fun.

Losing police in free roam is less of an issue and is more reminiscent to Underground and Underground 2. The events that do contain the police are point to point races in which the police seemingly disappear when the player gets near the end of the event. Even playing the game on hard these events never feel truly challenging during the course of the game and are the games weakest point. Removing the point to point aspect of these events would make the police chases more varied and entertaining.

Overall this game is an excellent purchase for long time fans of the series and it goes to show that Ghost games has been listening to their fans. A few blunders along the way do keep the game from being a perfect racer and causing the game to come in behind older titles that accomplished what Need for Speed was going for in a better way. Despite these mistakes the game is still a worthwhile purchase with the understanding that Ghost will continue to support the game and polish it’s rough edges.

You just fell in my eyes and in the eyes of many fans. And yes, it's not even about money. For this you do not want to pay, just a disgusting plot, a cliche on a cliche, a very boring world, fairly flat cars, problems with light are clearly taking place. Frostbite can not be adjusted to racing. Cars behave on the road just awful. I do not know who these people are that put the game 10 points. Maybe it's just those who devour any product .... If this game was not in the title of the legendary NFS, she would not have surrendered to anyone. The series has slipped, the worse it just can not be games.

The free roaming areas lack random diversion like police roaming around to avoid or a running into a random pack of cars to take out.

In the end, the remaining side activities like challenge races while a little enjoyable are not sufficient to keep you coming back. Having to go through unfun bits in hopes for some fun is simply not acceptable.

Also, a lot of the cool customization options which used be given as rewards can now simply be purchased by anyone through microtransactions which makes you feel less like you're unique or skilled and that's also not a good thing.

Again they want to force the player to pay to be able to advance fast and win the game with micropayments. This game I do not recommend. You can not enjoy much because you have to repeat the same thing until you get tired to accumulate points to move forward, even if the developer would have put more different races to compensate, but no, you must pay. The EA seeks that its market is no longer that of selling games, but that of micropayments that you must later pay after buying the game. So in the end you pay much more in total than you expected.

I was also extremely disappointed with the fact that cops can no longer chase you around the map.
