    If I didn't know any better, I would have thought that the EA Madden team took over this game.

    Add some ish, take it away, bring it back, update some graphics, and call the game "new," or "different."

    I am completely convinced now that these reviewers are paid by 2k sports. Looking at these critic reviews... 90, 80,75 ...... how can you give a game a review over a 5 when even the developers are saying they are working around the clock to fix this game. This game is beyonndddd broken! The shot meter is a disaster. Micro transactions are EVERYWHERE... my opinion????     + Improved gameplay and slight graphical improvement.
    - No update to my favorite and most fleshed out mode, MyLeague
    - horrible horrible microtransactions. Game practically begs you to keep spending money.

    I've loved 2K as a company and developer since NBA 2K in 1999, but it seems they are slowly turning into EA.

    They keep getting rid of features and replacing them with gambling mechanics. Pay to win, loot boxes, and a straight up casino in a $60 game. While for some reason they get rid of Release timing (Normal, Quick, etc.) in rosters... Sometimes I wonder if 2K is actually a money laundering scheme

    The game has many features but unfortunately to access most you have to dish out ridiculous amounts of money, and in most cases pray you get something of value in return. The more time you spend playing the game the less basketball you get to experience in this add/micro transaction filled mess for which players have already had to dish out 60$. Its an absolute disgrace.

    The game play is fine to me but all the other stuff you have to deal with to play the game stinks. If you play mycareer your success will not be based on your skill but whether you grind out badges. Without the badges your NBA player can't beat a 5 year old that has never touched a basketball. I truly believe that if they would take out half of the clutter in this game, all of the fake badge progression and gambling odds and most importantly the attribute boosts, this game wouldn't be so broken. Just scrap the whole boosts logic it undermines grinding and building your character when you can basically pay your way to winning. It seemed as if my player played well when I boosted and played like a 60 overall when I didn't have boost. It seemed like buying boost activates your stats, and if not equipped your stats are actually worse. I honestly think the overall they show us is actually a false representation of what your player truly is rated.the faulty movent mechanics and go back to how it was in 2k19. Update the atmosphere in the park, atleast the things we see in high volume. We would rather have a new environment or several world's to play in, a la NBA Streets, Streets 2.… Expand

    What happens with this game?? This is not a NBA 2K game, its a casino game, not a basketball game. 2K Games has destroyed the best basketball simulator, with a MyGM Mode that is f**** **** We cant select level or minutes. HORRIBLE.

    The offline modes are still plagued with bugs and issues that gave been in the game for 2 or 3 seasons (draft issues, free agents disappearing, contract extension not working...)     As someone that use to spend all of there money in the My Team and recovered after being addicted this year's game gives me outer rage as the My Team mode is designed to get you hooked with its pretty attraction of being there to give you good stuff its not. All those Galaxy Opal's, Pink Diamonds gone start all over and majority takes forever to get anyways. Once you do people would majority of the time leave the game instantly seeing your most powerful 99's. Thinking about it it takes a lot of money to get a great card for your My Team I spent $100 and only got two yes two please avoid and the two cards weren't even that good had to sell them in the auction and grind and hopefully win the one card in my auction.     So refreshing to see some actual basketball in this ONLINE CASINO SIMULATOR. Also great that it is rated "E" for Everyone so my kids can experience the immersive and addictive nature of GAMBLING so early in their life. Graphics are ok for a 2019 game.

    Ever since I downloaded the game the day it was released it's been crashing on me causing my playstation to freeze and restart. This happens every time I play. I literally can't play the game unless all I'm doing is simulating in my league. If there's any actual gameplay it freezes and crashes.

    I've reached out to 2K about this issue, and they've been no help. All they've done is send me automated responses which ignore what I've written and explained. They asked me for video of the issue and I provided it, but they tried to play it off as a problem on playstations side, so they weren't going to help even though the only game this has ever happened with on my console is NBA 2K20. I contacted support at sony and they were great. They helped me walk through the steps that I could take to fix my problem, but the game is still freezing. I sen't 2K another email today telling them that they were wrong and that the issue wasn't with my console and the response I got was the exact same email I got from them the first time I contacted support.

    I spent $100 on the game, but I can't play it. 2K is basically ripping me off. Don't let them do the same to you.    … Expand

There's barely anyone at the parks, the neighborhood is the same as 2k19 it's insulting that they charged full price for a game that's essentially a downgrade of the previous year's version. If you're reading this review, avoid at all cost. If you need your basketball fix, i suggest you keep playing 2k19. That's what I'm doing now.… Expand

    Oh my god it’s so bad, where do I start, money grab, rigged and my career is a laughing stock because it’s 100% micro transaction based. Worst game I’ve ever played by far. If I could go into the negatives I would do it. It’s gotten worse over the years and 2k has only gotten greedier. Please do not buy this game ever. Don’t even think about it

I can still remember when sports titles used to be about solely playing sports, not gambling and shelling out cash and then periodically playing sports.     The worst 2k I have ever played. Players are extremely slow. Players are slowed down on the break. You can clearly tell basketball minds had nothing to do with this game. Just a bunch of computer nerds who have no idea how the game of basketball is played. Never been more frustrated with a video game in my life

    First off to play most of the modes you need to create an account with 2K. Warning signs already but I push on, it then takes 5 tries to create an account as the 2K server kept timing out after entering all my details.
    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game    Actual gameplay is good but so much **** surrounding it that its frustrating to try to play.

    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game you need to sit through about 10 cut-scenes, each of which has to be skipped separately. Then at the end of each game the 2K server times out and I get sent back to the home screen and then I have to go back into MyCareer mode. All this means is for about 10 minutes worth of gameplay there is 20 minutes of **** to work through. Definitely not worth it.
    Had similar connection issues with MyTeam mode. Then add on top of that the casino crap and the fact that everything is a grind to get anywhere its just not worth the hassle.
    The only mode I found enjoyable was the quickplay mode but even then there are way too many pointless cut-scenes like the halftime shows, timeouts, etc that take too long to skip. Half the time I am just mashing X to try to get back to playing the game.

The gameplay is sloppy same dribble moves nothing new basically same meter graphics look the same. My league is the same every year just start using a team to win the finals all their is to it remove the mode and nothing happens to the mode because no one plays my league and play now. The shot meter in this game is so inconsistent you really have to make the shot meter green every time. Now into Mycareer the one good thing my career has to offer is story I feel like if they actually would try every once and a while they would able to produce a good story like 2k17.     I’d skip this one, if you played 2k19,2k18 you aren’t missing very much, updated mechanics and upgraded animations, but not much else. I’d say wait till the price drops don’t drop the $60 on this game.

    The game is same as NBA 2K19. Same park same graphics or worst! The gameplay same. They say the new builder is very good but i say not better than any builder. This only an update NBA 2K19.5 not the new NBA 2K20. So wait the next year and hope it will be better... The game actually a Casino game with some basketball. If you have NBA 2K19 don't buy this!     NBA 2K20 includes fewer innovations than a "copy/paste club", yet manages to still play and feel pretty great. Gambling and microtransactions involved are becoming more and more toxic with each year tho.
