    Haven’t bought a new 2k since 2016 and won’t do it ever again. 2016 was a great year but this blows. Terrible shooting mechanics, they’ve slowed down the game where diving doesn’t work, they have made the shooting impossible, rebounding goes to better player but not better rebounder, neighborhood is a scam, pro am is a fun concept but ruined by buggy ass **** and my team is pay to me.Haven’t bought a new 2k since 2016 and won’t do it ever again. 2016 was a great year but this blows.     Yet another poor entry into the NBA 2k series this time coming with even more predatory microtransactions, glitches and bugs that have no place being in a released game in 2020, in addition load times are painful and no real rewards or incredibly slow rewards for playing the game, all aimed at getting players to spend more and more money, the one aspect of the game that works perfectly.

    Just disappointed. And to think I have to spend so much for other contents. Why is there gambling here? Good thing about this is that when nba was postponed due to the pandemic, it somehow filled the void.

    The worst NBA ever. Shame.
    The NBA 2K19 was much better. I play My Career mode for many years. This 2K20 is junk.

    - training process in Bball Team Gym is so bad, I can't choose what to train.
    - RPG system is very complicated and bad. Stamina and Speed and acceleration now its not possible to manually upgrade.

    This game gets worst every year. It's not even fun anymore. Character customization is bad. You start off as garbage. Missing open shots as an incentive to buy virtual currency. The defense is terrible. The ai will just run past you for easy lay ups, you and your teams defense is almost non existant. On the other hand they leave you no room to breath.     2k really needs some competition. Y’all are getting too complacent. Outdated graphics, predatory microtransactions, and nothing really new for the past 5 years. Not to mention broken ass servers.

    It’s still kinda fun tho, as a party game or when some of the boys come over.

    this game does not hold up well concidering really damn bad micro transations,but at least it is fun,unlike madden 21,so lets hope 2k21 can be better,but its basically a game for those with psn,there really is not much with single players,this is getting a four instead of five because of greedyness and glitches! i would be having much more fun of the orignal game instead

    This game right here nba 2k20 is not good, it has way too little changes to be called an improvement, but also too little bad things, other than how myleague HAS BEEN THE EXACT SAME FOR 7 YEARS NOW, the rest of the game isn't that bad, it's actually pretty decent not gonna lie, but theres not enough change, and too many microtransactions for me.

    Buggy as hell in My Career mode. Somehow 2k have managed to progressively make this game. worse. The worst bit though is the blatant pay to win and locking accessories and such behind a paywall. For a full=price game it's appaling. 2k have become worse than EA, and that's saying something. There's no reason to buy this game every year. It's now largely a Sims simulator with over-priced bling.

    The game was fun when it first came out. However the developers and their bright ideas have once again destroyed a game and made it questionable to want to play. In the past week I’ve have easily missed over 100 wide open lay ups with players like Dwight Howard, Iman Shumpert, and even Jeremy Lin. Since when do basketball players just run out of bounds for no reason. Until 2k realizes that “any player” should not be missing wide open lay ups, so this game is not worth buying. Honestly, Dwight Howard’s hands are above the basket same with Wilt and Kareem. They should not miss 5 lay up attempts in a row, let alone at all. DO NOT PAY $60 FOR THIS GAME! DO NOT PAY $30! It’s not worth it. I would wait for it to be extremely cheap on sale, or wait for it to be one of the free games on the month.     The game is same as NBA 2K19. Same park same graphics or worst! The gameplay same. They say the new builder is very good but i say not better than any builder. This only an update NBA 2K19.5 not the new NBA 2K20. So wait the next year and hope it will be better... The game actually a Casino game with some basketball. If you have NBA 2K19 don't buy this! Same sh!t.

    I just created an account just to state how mad and disapointend I am about the franchise. This cannot keep going. I wish so hard that EA would come back with a decent basketball video game to give 2K a lesson.

    They killed the myGM mode, and each year it's only less and less customization in every game modes. I already sold my copy.

    Hands down the worst NBA 2K I've ever played. I got it for half price on boxing day sale and even that is not worth it.

    I am a huge NBA fan and this game is a huge disappointment. Don't waste your money on this game.

    I would rate 2k20 a 2 out of 5 stars because first of all 2k20 is not nearly as good as 2k19. The dribbling in 2k20 is garbage compared to the dribbling in 2k19. 2019 was just a way more polished game and way better of a game then 2k20. The way 2k20 flows is very slow-paced. it's like they went down in graphics over a year. It’s way harder to get good at 2k20 then in 2k19.     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've been a 2K fan since the Sega Dreamcast when the game was actually quite good but over the past few years with the addition of "My Team", it's become nothing more than a cash cow with card packs, etc.

    You can't build a decent team without buying packs and the challenge rewards are awful at best. Once you beat "Domination" in My Team, it's pretty much a done deal unless you like playing "Unlimited" which requires you to win 12 straight games to get the prize something most can't do in one sitting.

    At its core is a solid basketball game, but it's plagued by long load times, unskippable cutscenes, and of course the scumbag microtransactions.

    It's a shame. They have the foundations of a really good game here, but they just can't help themselves

    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game    Actual gameplay is good but so much **** surrounding it that its frustrating to try to play.

    When I finally create an account I jump on MyCareer. Before you play any game you need to sit through about 10 cut-scenes, each of which has to be skipped separately. Then at the end of each game the 2K server times out and I get sent back to the home screen and then I have to go back into MyCareer mode. All this means is for about 10 minutes worth of gameplay there is 20 minutes of **** to work through. Definitely not worth it.
    Had similar connection issues with MyTeam mode. Then add on top of that the casino crap and the fact that everything is a grind to get anywhere its just not worth the hassle.
    The only mode I found enjoyable was the quickplay mode but even then there are way too many pointless cut-scenes like the halftime shows, timeouts, etc that take too long to skip. Half the time I am just mashing X to try to get back to playing the game.

    The AI on mycareer mode is absolutely stupid. The computer would make 20-0 runs out of nowhere just to make the game competitive and wide open shots from 6 feet for your teammates misses.... It's just dumb to see Steph curry miss a 6 feet no contest shot while on the other end, low rate AI players make 20 footers with good contest so easy...

    I have fun playing in the park and sometimes rec centre with friends however extremely pay to win and basically requires you to pay atleast 30 pounds or so to get your pro to a high enough rating to be competitive, basically looks like simulated gambling at times in my team etc . My career stories get very stale aswell.

    Worst game they have put out. Defense does not exist. Everyone plays the same cheese way online as well where they know the ai will not pick up the player and slash to an easy dunk or layup. Making changes to your team takes forever and the timer tends to run fast when making changes. Such a horrible game.

    1/10 because this is a great Casino Simulation game but a terrible NBA simulation game. I never knew gambling was such a huge part of the NBA players careers until I played this game. Thanks 2K games for enlightening me. NO MORE LOOT BOXES IN FULL PRICED GAMES!! Why is this rated E for EVERYONE!?

    The badges are dumb, quick draw is such a **** badge, it is a badge that makes u shoot the ball the quicker. Flexible release should be removed because you need it in order to make full white releases. Tje servers suck, a **** ton of glitches, and horrible face scan. 2k18 had a better launch than this

    The game play is fine to me but all the other stuff you have to deal with to play the game stinks. If you play mycareer your success will not be based on your skill but whether you grind out badges. Without the badges your NBA player can't beat a 5 year old that has never touched a basketball.     What happens with this game?? This is not a NBA 2K game, its a casino game, not a basketball game. 2K Games has destroyed the best basketball simulator, with a MyGM Mode that is f**** **** We cant select level or minutes. HORRIBLE.

    Fix the sharpshooter badge! It’s broken. Also, none of the problems of past 2k games such as it forcing you out of bounds/backcourt, stupidly contested shots, and how you can’t actually do anything permanent for your player at the Gatorade gym. Terrible game

    Broken game mechanics, microtransactions, lack of quality and authenticity to basketball, their too focused on monetizing the game and surrounding the game with advertisements, which would be fine if the game wasn't fundamentally broken. Full price game with free to play mobile microtransactions, little improvements from one game to the next, game is the living example of how a monopoly can work.

    Players so slow and stiff. Jumpshot is ridiculous! You need to be green or not— despite a shot being close to the shot metre being full, you will get a very flat, very out of rhythm jump shot. They put so much ‘realism’ in the animation that even the fundamental movements look like amateurish. Worst 2K ever.

    Where to start? The AI in this game, a rather important aspect I'm sure you'll agree, is so comically bad I have no idea how it shipped at all, and    Oh my. This is the single worst sports game I've ever played. And I've played several Maddens, mind you, so I have low standards. I don't play any of the modes involving whatever gambling folks are complaining about, so I won't get into that.
    Where to start? The AI in this game, a rather important aspect I'm sure you'll agree, is so comically bad I have no idea how it shipped at all, and is worse by orders of magnitude than anything even Madden has ever produced. You'll play indie iOS games with better AI. Don't believe me? Just watch a replay, any replay of any possession of your choice. The players are absolutely brain dead. They will routinely forget where they are, or simply step aside meekly as opposing players approach, or wander off drunkenly, or run away from the ball on some unknown errand, or slide around in a kind of spastic freak-out. This is only one of NBA 2K's bizarre issues. Under the rim, the game is entirely, and I don't use the word lightly, broken. Any and all players, 7 foot centers included, if there is any player near them, will halt their own progress to attempt hilarious reverse layups or globetrotter-ish nonsense and miss every time. Similarly, dead eye three point shooters have next to no chance of making shots if they are contested. I watch as much basketball as the next person, and I'm pretty sure there is no magic lid on the basket if your shot attempt was challenged by a defender. This is of course because NBA 2k's shot contest system is incredibly lazy and poorly conceived from the start. There is no factoring of ball physics, trajectory or leverage etc. (i.e. the actual shooting of a shot), everything is instead determined by a dice roll and shot contest %, leading to a set of canned animations as outcomes. Play this game for a few hours and these rolls become quite transparent, which is, when you think about it, an embarrassing place to wind up after 20 years.
    What's interesting is that NBA 2k has a lot of frills. It far surpasses other sports games in presentation, is certainly superior to Madden in GM depth for myleague etc., and it looks excellent. None of this matters though when the gameplay is so completely, irrevocably awful.
    I would be included to say that I am stunned that a developer that continues to put out such rubbish retains their official license, let alone one that has had 20 years to improve. But then look around, these yearly sports titles with exclusive licenses are simply cash cows that spit shine the same garbage year after year. It's just that even relative to its sports game competitors, NBA 2k and especially 2k20 does a pretty laughable job of concealing its contempt for its audience.    … Expand

    NBA 2K20 is the worst NBA game series ever. It has too many problems wtih shoots, fundamental moves, fade away, off dribble shots and so on. All are terrible. I have been playing this 2K series since 2006 (NBA2K6) and i played all series on each year but believe me guys 2K20 is the worst. I’ve been still playing 2K19 which is the best ever.

So many easy jumpers missed with the sharpshooter emphasis that it was only possible to score if it was a literal perfect release. I tried so hard to love this game and its mechanics but it is so terrible to get better that I flat out deleted it off my console and returned the game for credits to preorder The Show 21. If you love basketball, this game is phenomenal. But if you love progressing with realistic adjustments, buckle up and be patient, you’ll be here a while.… Expand

    If you're an offline gamer like me, don't buy it! MyCareer, you have to be online. The only thing you can do is Play Now, or MyLeague. That's it. Even if you are online, there still isn't much you can do. They could of at least made the MyCareer able to play offine. MyCareer was the only reason I got the game, and now it feels like a waste.     Yo, this is just a DLC for 2k20 which was also a DLC for 2k19 lol. Honestly, the only thing different is the new shot meter. They made the amazing 'innovative' decision to add a shot-stick option which just doesn't work. Major regrets buying this.

    Game really throws you in and it is very difficult to understand any mechanics or even keys to play with and what they do. Ui of menu is not so good, I have been in trouble to find where can I play some kind of walkthrough. Eventually after I learned some basics I had trouble to draw with easiest AI. Microtransactions everywhere. Poor singleplayer mode.

In modalità carriera la valutazione della partita è fatta completamente a caso. In generale il gioco è veramente pessimo, buono solo per una partitella fra amici.

Overheated my ps4 on menu screens. Just buy NBA 2k11 for $1 out of a dump bin and make your own players, that’s your only option as a basketball fan.
