Very nice game with some fine puzzles, good amount of history facts presented from the very interesting perspective, nice animation art too.

“Do you like stories?” This is the question that surrounds My Memory of Us; the cartoonish steampunk adaptation of one of the most horrific times in history, the German invasion of Poland during World War 2. Juggler Games tells a tale of two young friends fighting against the oppressive robot regime towards safety and, hopefully, freedom.

The first thing I want to say and make perfectly clear is that this story is such a beautiful tale of how, even on the most ordinary of days, life can surprise you in wonderful ways. The desire to tell a story for those who may still be left wondering if they will ever see their childhood friends again is respectable, and it is told in a spectacular and original way. From the naïve art style to soundtrack the swells at the most emotional moments, there is a lot to love about the storytelling abilities of this studio. One segment in particular has you climbing a tower of suitcases to find a teddy bear. For the sake of experiencing that moment for yourself I won’t go too much into detail, but that scene made me fully understand the magnitude of the war and helped emphasize the message. I may be sounding redundant here, but I can’t stress enough how moved I was by the time I finished the game. Not to mention the fact that Sir Patrick Stewart is the narrator.

Unfortunately, the biggest setback of the game actually has to do with its gameplay. Platforming and stealth make up roughly 70% of My Memory of Us, so while the story is the more than enough to encourage progression, basic platforming and stiff controls tests how much I wanted to continue the story especially during segments requiring fast button inputs. Although those two mechanics hindered my experience, the same can’t be said about the puzzle-solving. There are a lot of puzzles in this game and they are all well thought out and challenging at times. There were a couple of puzzles that didn’t quite click with me at first because there wasn’t enough context for me to figure out but I’m pretty sure I just wasn’t smart enough to figure it out. Overall though, I would say the puzzles are plentiful enough to keep you engaged while challenging enough to satisfy. There are also collectible memories throughout the world to collect as well. Memories which contain the real stories of real heroes of that time, sharing the bravery and sacrifices made to ensure the fight kept going in the name of freedom.

This game is short but definitely sweet, so I’ll keep my review the same. Although there are definitely issues with the platforming and controls, the story more than makes up for them. I didn’t expect to enjoy this game as much as I did when the credits rolled but once I took the time to read the memories I had collected and stop to focus on the metaphoric scenery, the game had me in tears.

A beautiful story that refers to the history of the Warsaw occupied by Germans (robots in the game). If you like Child of Light or Valiants Hearts you have to play My Memory of Us.

My memory of Us is a beautiful game, with childish story, that possibly needs more drama and emotional moments. Otherwise, It’s a fantastic videogame for everyone that wants to be a spectator of a precious and charming tale in a cold and grey place.

Where the game really exceeds is the beautiful and haunting retelling of the Holocaust as a robot invasion through the eyes of two children that won’t let their friendship be torn apart by hate and prejudice.

My Memory of Us is an exciting and emotional trip through a dark period of human history. Its bittersweet story mixes well with its tense stealth-based gameplay, while clever puzzles flesh things out. Fittingly for a game about memories, we won't forget our time with Juggler Games' project for quite a while.
