A very well-made motocross game that is disappointingly familiar, but thanks to the new physics and better movement of bikes and riders, it's still a class act. [Issue#152, p.87]

This is by far and away the best MXGP game to date, and the result of developer Milestone finally getting to grips with the Unreal Engine — despite the recently disappointing MotoGP 18. MXGP Pro still lacks technical polish and misses the magical ‘wow’ moments that the best racing games feature, but this is now a great platform that they can build upon for the future. The difficulty curve will not be for everyone, but MXGP Pro is all the better for it.

MXGP Pro focuses on gameplay, introducing a series of interesting innovations in terms of handling and physics in order to make the experience more solid and consistent.

MXGP Pro may not be a cut-and-paste job even if it shares similar coding under the hood, yet it isn’t far from it. Though I enjoy this version of the sport more than the version in MotoGP 18, it does little to change the fact that this game serves to check off a small list of requirements that any racing game should have to be enjoyable. Nothing more, nothing less. To create something truly fun, time and care needs to be put into it. Maybe next year Milestone will cut their output in half and its franchises will flourish because of it.

Another big turnoff is a buy-to-own piece of DLC that is a credit multiplier. Memories of loot boxes in other games spring to mind where players willing to cough up money get an unfair advantage over those who do not. Credits are needed to upgrade bikes, etc.

MXGP Pro does not really deliver when it comes to game modes and presentation, but it does have a good approach in physics and the versatility of this racing sport.

While MXGP Pro is mostly an attractive, enjoyable experience, that represents the sport quite well, even avid fans should ponder long and hard over its longstanding flaws before indulging.

MXGP Pro provides a good Motocross experience, but it suffers some sort of content ‘stalement’ and it’s the less technically polished Milestone title to be released this year.

MGXP PRO is pretty much the same game as the previous iteration. Sure, there are some improvements in the graphical department. Physics are at times more realistic than before and the big old playground called Compound is back. Negatives? Load times are far too long, the reset system is frustrating because it's highly inconsistent, the game lacks innovation and we could go on.
