Ultimately this is a game that is good but could have been better. Using the Unreal Engine I do think has helped in a lot of ways. The actual models of the bikes look real and are very detailed, and it is pleasing to see real life stadiums created digitally with care. I would suggest most gamers would do well to use the training Compound in the game as it will help you overcome some of the early control issues or at the least get you used to them. This is most likely one of the better games for bike fans out there right now but it could do with more polish.

Monster Energy Supercross 2 is a good sequel. It greatly enhances the career mode and gives it a lot more dynamism. Driving sensations are also on a good path with better feelings and good technicality, despite an arcade side revealed by some collisions issues. Pretty, fun, and easy to access despite greater depth, Milestone's production has been able to capitalize positively on bases that had good potential. It still has to tweak his multiplayer mode to keep the distance. See you in 2020 for a must-have?

Monster Energy Supercross 2 will intrigue veterans of the series with its deeper career mode, rhythm gameplay, and authentic AMA Motocross Championship presentation. Meanwhile, casual racing fans can hop in and have a lot of fun with the easy to learn controls and compound mode, however bugs and long load times will frustrate everyone.

A fun and improved game compared to the first chapter, but something is still lacking in terms of content quality.

Fans of the first game will ultimately love the changes, but the casual rider will have difficulty adjusting to the way the physics work and the actual racing. Learning the track and knowing when to accelerate and brake will require time to master. The online experience needs more of an investment to not only correct but also progress. Also, the game is still based on the previous season, and is missing fan favorite Ken Roczen. Capturing the essence of the sport for the fan is something Milestone has gotten right, but the game still lacks in the most important area, and that’s the racing.

Monster Energy Supercross 2 is a fun supercross experience which touches on some great career options. The game will always leave you wanting just one more race, which is a great sign of an arcade motorcross game.

I see the appeal in Monster Energy Supercross 2. For all the limits concerning presentation and graphical fidelity, you can feel how precise the gameplay can be with all the cranks turned to 11. If you’re looking for an accurate simulation of Supercross, this is going to satisfy. Even though this is a sequel, it feels like a foundation that can be built upon in future games, and I hope that Milestone expands the feature set the next time out.

It takes elements from other Milestone games such as the improved visuals and track deformation, adds a few unique features of its own and provides a perfectly acceptable dirt racing game experience. But, in a world where acceptable isn’t quite good enough, I wish more developers dipped their toes into the bike racing arena to really push Milestone to another level. MEAS2FWCTOVG is solid but uninspiring.

Milestone is obviously on the good path. Monster Energy Supercross has many things to improve on, but there’s at least an interesting Career mode, and more realistic driving.

Monster Energy Supercross 2 is yet another poor release by Milestone that simply has nothing good to offer other than realistic motorcycle handling. As a motorcycles fan, you might enjoy this game, but as a gamer, there is not much here to enjoy.

Monster Energy Supercross 2 is a mostly fluid and enjoyable two-wheeler experience, which hasn't been reinvented, but has been polished just enough to be a decent follow-up. The standard cynicism of incessant iterative cycles still applies here, because if Milestone gave themselves two years for this follow-up, it would be drastically better, rather than the usual half-step. However, at least the studio's commitment to the Unreal Engine 4, and their policy of providing an accessible driving experiences for all skill-levels, ensures Monster Energy Supercross 2 is still fun and engrossing for fans of Supercross, as well as those of the genre at large.
