    Sony San Diego overhauls almost every single aspect of MLB The Show with this update, with the outstanding March to October and Moments modes leading the way. At least for right now, it seems destined to go down as the best baseball sim of the generation, and maybe as one of the best sports sims as well.

    Diamond Dynasty has enough to keep you coming back for more and this is fueled by the Moments missions. The Show should always be considered as one of the top console exclusive games on the market as MLB The Show 19 is the definitive baseball game of this generation.

    On the positive side, the stellar gameplay that has long been associated with the series is again, even better than it was last year. The slow and steady improvement to visuals continues as Sony tinkers with lighting and textures. Diamond Dynasty continues to grow and it has become the best collector mode in any sports video game. On the negative side, the franchise mode and Road to the Show are integral parts of The Show experience and haven't seen much improvement. Luckily, both were already fun, but how long can Sony continue to deliver such small improvements to key modes? At least one more year.

    New game modes and additions to Road to the Show, along with a revamped defending system make MLB The Show 19 worth its price, even if you bought its predecessor one year ago.

    Thanks to new avenues of play and smart restructuring decisions, MLB 19 The Show is once again a contender that is worthy of your time both offline and on. Iteration has paid off for this series in a big way, and it’s nice to see Sony taking chances with new ideas again.

    If you want a true-to-life baseball experience, this is almost certainly it. But when you get so close to doing everything right, what you do wrong stands out more. With MLB The Show’s track record, I have no doubt that, come MLB The Show 20, they’ll fix the niggling little issues that prevent MLB The Show 19 from being a truly great game — but for now, those issues still exist, and they’re what prevent the game from making the jump from very good to great.

    The Show never disappoints. I consider the release date for the game a holiday every year. Absolutely a fantastic game.

    I'm not a person who buys baseball every year, so I don't have the complaint of it being similar to last year's game or anything. Unlike other sports titles, the game pretty much plays out exactly how the games will play out in real life. You have the option to play through it fast, or play it slow and watch the games.     I would say I have mixed feelings on this because I always square up the ball and exit velo 50 but when I’m late it’s like exit velo 90+ theI would say I have mixed feelings on this because I always square up the ball and exit velo 50 but when I’m late it’s like exit velo 90+ the rating matchups are trash I’m in wild card with a gold lineup and 4 diamonds but I feel like I always get matched up with 90+ overall teams etc i would give it a thumbs up but I would also say just fix the fielding already… Expand

    I love baseball and have been a gamer since pong and asteroids. I enjoyed 18 but 19 has so many flaws I am not having fun with it. Defense is so bad and not just bad fielders, Mays has issues on fly balls. Just had a new one to me and my final straw to write a bad review. Line drive to the wall, batter runs to second base but walks last 20' to second. Center fielder throws ball in and gets him out because he walked. Way too many line drives caught. For me that was it. Will try again in 20, maybe.… Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This game is so unrealistic and way more difficult than 16. Pitching on every level from veteran to hall of fame is around the same. Once the team your pitching for gets ahead, the other team magically starts hitting really good pitches u throw. I threw a couple strikes at 100 mph high and inside and the other team hit them for homeruns. Is that realistic? Batters can’t see a pitch that’s at that speed. Also I threw really good off speeds in really difficult locations to hit and they still hit them. This is on veteran so I can’t imagine how hard the other levels would be.… Expand
