Minecraft: Story Mode settles into a new identity and story with “Order Up!,” one that isn’t beholden to past mistakes.

Season One of Minecraft Story Mode ends on an all-time high with a highly amusing, and more importantly, fun standalone family adventure. The only drawbacks now are all related to Telltale’s own creaking game engine.

Overall Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 5: Order Up! has done a nice job of not only having a well thought out contained narrative, but also opens the doors for future installments.

Telltale is taking steps in the right direction. Order Up! is the best episode so far, and it feels like the series is finally moving forward and getting closer to the quality expected from the studio.

A familiarly average start, but with sharp writing and dramatic set-pieces. [June 2016, p.92]

Minecraft: Story Mode – Episode 5: Order Up! shapes up to be an incredible introduction to the Order of the Stone’s newest adventures, but still manages to fall a little short.

With Episode 5 of the Telltale Minecraft series they are setting up a good base for the next three episodes when it comes to the storyline. All they need to do now is come up with a proper villain, not abandon storylines and ideologies and make the quicktime events interesting and Telltale with have something good on their hands.

Minecraft: Story Mode - Episode 5: Order Up! is the strongest individual episode in this series thus far.

It's a bit weird how the fifth episode of the series sets up an entirely new story, leaving players hanging when they were probably looking for some closure. The episode itself is fine, though input registration remains flawed and the puzzles once more lack challenge. Telltale has made better series in the past than this one and it's without a doubt making better ones as we speak.

I love TellTale and 'all' of the games they produce, but putting so much focus on this cringy machinima like 'game' was a mistake. They have spent so much time and effort to build a fanbase around games like The Wolf Among us, Tales from the Borderlands, Game of Thrones, and the Walking dead; so when they crank out something nobody wants it feels like an insult, Full Review »
