Mar 20, 2016Easily the best LotR game to date. Interesting story that doesn't break the mythos of Tolkien and really varied and engaging combat. Graphics and sound are top notch.
-
Sep 12, 2017Shadow of Mordor is the best Lord of the Rings out there. The game is amazing period. The nemesys sistem is out of the change, the combat is very satisfying like the arkham games and the art of the world is beautiful.

May 11, 2016Unique and challenging something hard to find in the video game world nowadays. You are wasting your time reading a review when you should be playing the darn game!
-
Jun 27, 2016This game is one of my favorites. I love the open world part of it that lets you do almost whatever you want. My only problem with it is there weren't enough story missions.

-
Sep 23, 2016I'm just writing at least 150 characters because I wanted to save this review in a more convenient way to look back at scores that I had given stuff as a user.

Nov 30, 2016Shadow of Mordor is what Assassin's should be...and its a **** Lord of the Rings game...Shadow of Mordor is ridiculously fun. It's a game I'd compare to Arkham City as the combat is very similar, along with the open world which isn't overly big but has plenty of things to do within it, its main differences being you its set in Modor, you assassinate targets and you blow heads up.

Jan 27, 2017With a decent storyline what really draws attention in Shadow of Mordor are its mechanics that are extremely fun combat is fluid and the possibilities to kill your enemies are varied that added to the mechanics of captains and revenge whenever an enemy kills you it stays The stronger the whole experience involving the addictive game causing the player to easily lose hours playing.
-
Sep 2, 2020Combat is excellent. Quick pace and great story that makes minor changes the lore from Tolkien. Spent countless hours just roaming around picking fights with orcs.
-
Mar 25, 2017Very nice game and very addictive this new system called "Nemesis", a revolution of gaming.
The story is the bad thing of the game because is too short and the strong part... again... is the nemesis system, not the history and much less the secondary missions. -

Feb 23, 2021The nemesis system is a very cool idea and the gameplay is good but this game just simply isn't that remarkable and the story in particular was just okay. 75/100

Aug 30, 2017Every LOTR game I have played has sucked. Not this one. Fantastic game, incredible use of the source material. Captain system was implemented very well and is a really novel idea.

Apr 10, 2018What an unexpected gem of a game! Becomes a little bit too easy towards the end but hell of an experience. A few things can be improved upon but that's just being picky. Future potential is enormous. Much better than AC games, yes even Black Flag.
-
Oct 29, 2017This one is a good game, I enjoy the increased depth in gameplay compared to the first game. Graphics are good but not really mind blowing (my version is on console though so :/ ) Like most games these days its sad to see how much these AAA games cost now :(

Apr 28, 2018I was not expecting this to be this good! This game has a hybrid between Batman Arkham series and Assassin's Creed gameplay. Nemesis system is AMAZING! The nemesis system is the highlight of this game making it very fun and interesting since the orcs have a mind of their own attacking other orcs or you. The story is quite interesting too but the final boss fight was the major disappointment.
-
Apr 20, 2018Greata game, I'm writing this review in 2018 so it's logic this game isn't comparable to the titles of 2018, despite it I know that in 2014 this game was on top of the technology. Still it isn't perfect, the story is easily forgetable and it doesn't fit in the universe of lotr. 8/10
-
Apr 21, 2018So fun combat and movement, not bad story. I was looking for Triple A games and i do not regret to playing this game
-
Sep 8, 2020Playing it in 2020 is not as good as it was 6 years ago when the game was released. I found some bugs during missions and some in walls glitches as well but this bugs didn’t ruin my experience at all. I started it Monday the 27th of July and finished it on Friday the 31st of July with a Platinum Trophy. It was fun, I reccomend you to play it. Smash some uruks ;)
-
Nov 6, 2019Very good graphics, good gameplay, good story, a lot of interesting things to do in the game. The orcs conversion mechanics is awesome. Excelent game
-
May 5, 2020This game should've been GOTY , the combat is great due the fact its the same engine as Batman Arkham. The nemesis system is perfect and the story is marvelous, a must play for LOTR fans.

-
Jan 31, 2019I like the game, great graphics and the history interesting, if you like the world of lord of the rings I recommend this game.
-
Apr 29, 2019Plays like LoTR with the combat mechanics of Batman Arkham city. Fantastic game! Great upgrade system, storyline, everything. Totally defied expectations and it leaves plenty of side quests and other things discover for when you beat the main story Andy are ready for more.

-
Jun 30, 2020Interesting at the start, but the gameplay gets repetitive and rather tedious as the game progresses. The graphics are average and the sound quality is expected. The characters aren't memorable and the story gets disappointing as the game progresses. A solid Middle-Earth sure, but nothing special.

Jul 6, 2020Shadow of Mordor scratches the exact same itch that all the Arkham games do. The story is acceptable, voice acting is fine, and the plot itself is mostly sound. For these kinds of games, though, that doesn't really matter; play for the combat and mood, because that is where this game is strongest.
-
Jul 4, 2020Honestly gameplay and the nemesis system are the only things this game has going for it. The story is poo poo. This game is really fun for the first few hours when you are still figuring out the combat, but by the end it feels like a souless grind.
-
Mar 14, 2021I like this game a lot, this and the secuele are extremely good par of games, you have to played.
-
Mar 8, 2021An extremely frustrating, buggy, messy experience running on software that is badly in need of an update. Most of my time was spent annoyed at my character for not reacting how I wanted him to, or taking longer than deemed necessary to react. Not for me, hope others get more from it.
-
Feb 10, 2021Patenting the nemesis system, despite your game being created base on others' ideas. The industry is built on innovating of existing ideas.
-
May 3, 2023SOM is a pretty good game! The nemesis system slaps. However, the graphics aren't the best, but this is compensated by the atmosphere.
- The story is a bit confusing, especially the ending and side missions get a lil repetitive by the end.
- Side characters and even the main character didn't stand out too much, but at least the Uruk's performances were captivating! -
Nov 16, 2020Enjoyed every bit of this game, which builds on excellent LOTR lore and let you enjoy much more than you know about the saga, especially during the last fights. Will surely take the second, Shadow of War. Very well done
-
-
Nov 10, 2020Captured the Lord of the Rings world perfectly. Nemesis system is great. Gameplay is similar to Batman AC which is awesome. Story is pretty great as well.

-
Aug 21, 2021The touchdown for my future love for the sequel of this game was successful, I squeezed everything out of it, the most unique combat system "Nemesis" ❤
-
Oct 14, 2021It is an amazing game, it doesn't care if you like the lord of the rings you will love this games
-
-
Jan 24, 2022An extremely good game, bought it for $5, but I would easily get it for $50. Gameplay and combat are good. Story is so-so. The nemesis system is a nice addition to the game. That's how you create a game.
-
Nov 18, 2022to put it eloquently, this game is fun assassins creed. not much more to say about that.
-
Sep 4, 20229/10........................................................................................
-
May 23, 2022plot of the game takes place between The Hobbit and Lord of the Rings. Talion's family is responsible for guarding Black Gate, Talion is killed by Sauron's servants, but just before his death, Talion's body is taken over by an elven wraith with whom, after reaching an agreement, they plan revenge.
-
-
Dec 24, 2022Answer: 75 characters is between 10 words and 19 words with spaces included in the character count. If spaces are not included in the character count, then 75 characters is between 12 words and 25 words.
-
Feb 6, 2023Okayy. If you like LotR like me than you will definitely love this game! Super ranger stranded and slaying orcs in Mordor? Sign me in! Graphics for its time are good. Story is great. And gameplay is fantastic. And most importantly the game is very immersive. Nemesis system is revolutionary and adds so much fun to this game... 9/10

-
Mar 31, 2023This game is not worth the title game of the year. It's not a bad game by any means, but it's just a typical open-world romp with a LotR coat of paint. The combat is fun, but shallow, and has a very low skill ceiling. Two of the three boss encounters were extremely disappointing and the story has some issues, but you can still have fun with this game.
-
Apr 23, 2023What is the point of stealth when enemies instantly respawn after you walked only 10 feet away lol. Terrible game design.
-
Apr 15, 2023why the **** is this an Arkham clone. I will never understand the obsession with this kind of mindless button mashing combat, its good for Arkham because it makes you "fight like batman". why the **** is someone in a ****ing lord of the rings game fighting like this, and the detective vision is so ****ing out of place.

Jun 12, 2015For people who are alright with playing fifteen hours or so of Helm’s Deep-style carnage, Shadow of Mordor is a delight – and even for people who couldn’t care less about Lord of the Rings, the exciting combat and unique Nemesis System are more than enough to make the experience worthwhile.
-
Dec 24, 2014As a gamer you owe it to yourself to experience Shadow of Mordor if not for anything else other than the Nemesis system because playing a single-player game never made you feel less alone.
-
CD-ActionDec 13, 2014Batman’s Creed: Shadow of Mordor – Monolith’s inspirations are so obvious that you could call their game a rip-off. Its greatest sin though is the fact that it fails to vary gameplay the way Assassin’s Creed or Batman do and offers almost nothing apart from killing stuff and playing with the Nemesis system (which, I admit, has its moments). I got so tired with its repetitiveness that I wouldn’t have finished the game if I didn’t have to. [Dec 2014, p.48]
