The Bright Lord DLC is an arduous affair. Again, Monolith have employed the same "kill or dominate 5 warchiefs" objective as the main component of the expansion, with the same tiresome and uninspired side missions we've seen dozens of times already. If this hasn't become stale by now, I'm sure it will be by the time you're done with this. Several of these missions are also timed for no realistic reason other than for extra tedium and artificial difficulty. At least the game is able to shine a different light on Celebrimbor's motives that's not really displayed in the main game, thus adding a tiny amount of character depth. Otherwise though, it's a pretty subpar DLC and one I would not recommend unless you're a diehard fan of Shadow of Mordor.

For some reason the DLC is never based on the campaign. So I have a 100% main story completion for nothing. I have so many runes I can't use on the DLC!

And now I am stuck with an Elf who is underpowered, half HP, and keeps branding ORCS (which I hated). Why do they focus on retarded Mechanics like Beasts or Brand in the DLC instead of improving executions and stuff is beyond me.

The missions are All based on Time Counter! Yes! You fight Time not Uruks.

That massively sucks specially when they removed Focus.

    Fcn idiots.

Such a shame cause the main story was so Awesome.

    2 Complete failure of DLC.

Either way, it's more Shadow of Mordor with some slight twists, and that's still as good a reason as any to go there and back again with one of 2014's most triumphant titles.

The Bright Lord is good extra content. It does not feel very renewing, but because it is a bit more about spectacular swordfighting this DLC is not forgettable. Using The Ring feels exactly how it is supposed to: epic and powerful. We totally get why Gollum loves that thing so much.

The power of the Ring and the big final battle with Sauron were some nice surprises on this enjoyable expansion. Unfortunately, the overall contents on the DLC and the poor story are far from the greatness of the original game.
