There’s simply nothing to not like about this DLC. It continues an already great story, adds weight and characterization to an already established Spider-friend, and, as a bonus, awards two of my favorite costumes in the bunch. If you’re looking for more Spider-Man to play, and I mean, why wouldn’t you, Insomniac continues to provide ample reasons to swing around New York. Beyond just swinging. Which is still fun, btw.

Compared to the first DLC, Turf Wars is much more combat focused. Overall, I didn’t like it as much as the first DLC, not because combat isn’t fun, but it’s gotten quite repetitive and tedious. Still, I suspect part three, arriving next month, will strike a better balance overall, as it completes the City That Never Sleeps story arc.

With a new villain to fight in Marvel's Spiderman, the DLC Turf Wars and Hammerhead character seems enough reasons to try the new content but unfortunately, once again it's below our expectations.

With two thirds of the season pass in the bag I can honestly say that I'm invested.

This DLC content comes off feeling a little 'more of same.' It doesn't introduce anything terribly new, and feels like it has less content and depth than the first chapter. I'm holding out hope that the third chapter can wrap this up neatly.

Overall, Turf Wars felt much more exciting than The Heist in terms of action and combat. The three new suits are way more badass, with the first two being heavy-duty, Iron Man-style get-ups and the third being an insanely satisfying, animated surprise that you’ll have to unlock yourself to admire. The enemies feel more dynamic, and while the content is limited, the story is short, and the plot is easy to feel indifferent towards, Turf Wars is fun and leaves us wanting more in the way of Yuri’s ominous storyline.

Although there is not much improvements comparing to the previous DLC, Turf Wars is still a solid action-adventure due to its core gameplay mechanics, and plays an important role in laying the ground for Spider-Man: Silver Lining.

While some may be disappointed with the lack of new features or gameplay additions in this string of DLC, the effortlessly fun swinging and fighting, along with an interesting narrative, makes it worthwhile for those who are happy to play more of Marvel's Spider-Man. The Heist continues the City That Never Sleeps story well, further developing characters we're familiar with as well as introducing us to a nasty new bad guy in Hammerhead. It's not the longest or most original DLC out there, but those looking for an excuse to keep playing will definitely be satisfied.

In truth, the real value of Turf Wars is entirely dependent on the final piece of DLC scheduled to hit a month from now. Provided it delivers on an exciting finale, all of the rough spots in the tale will be worth it. Until then, your enjoyment of the Turf Wars DLC will be entirely dependent on how excited you are to fight loads of enemies and how invested you are in the characterization of one of your allies. Overall, it isn't great, but it does enough to keep things intriguing until the final installment.

As many faults as I can find with Turf Wars, it’s still a lot of fun to play. Stepping back into the Spidey suit is exhilarating, and this chapter offers up some of the toughest challenges yet.

Turf Wars is a minor step backwards because of the high bar set by the main game and the prior episode.

A grey second act that ultimately sets us up nicely for a far brighter finale.

The second DLC is a step back and Hammered is a less interesting villain with a very poor characterization. We hope that Silver Lining, at least, will be a perfect finale.

A classic transitional chapter: it does not include particular novelties, nor does it propose an unforgettable story, but adds new pieces to the narrative mosaic, preparing us for the grand finale.

Turf Wars shows promise in its two hour story, but mostly sets up a more interesting third act with (hopefully) more interesting boss fights. At some points, it’s far too hard and the last fight is almost unfair. But the core of what made the main game so compelling is all still intact and is more than enough reason to pick up the DLC.

A DLC that does almost the same things as previous DLCs but one that is less interesting.

Whilst more Spider-Man is never a bad thing, the DLC doesn't last that long, and there's nothing really new to keep you entertained outside the story.

Even if there’s some good moments in this DLC, such as the long-awaited good use of the spider-bot, Turf Wars struggles to develop its scenario. It doesn’t give any answer and worse, it adds new questions. Frustrating.

Though the thrill of being Spider-Man has barely dulled, Turf Wars simply doesn't offer enough content, new or otherwise, to keep you engaged for any decent period of time.

Sadly the second DLC for Spider-Man disappoints. It's more of the same with a run of the mill story that ties you over until the third and final part. The one saving grace is the great gameplay that keeps you from hooked until the end.

Turf Wars is a substantial step down from The Heist as its unvaried and brief campaign along with its stereotypical story make it an easily forgettable piece of content. That being said, there are some redeeming qualities but they are too few and far between.

If you’ve already played The Heist you’ll easily be able to imagine how Turf Wars plays out. In fact, if you’ve played any story DLC from the last few years it follows a very familiar path of artificially extending the running time of the parent game with the bare minimum of new features and enemies. But more of the same is exactly what some people want from Marvel’s Spider-Man and it’ll still be interesting to see how things end with the final DLC next month.

Like The Heist, Turf War is an okay addition to the overall package.

There are people who didn´t like The Heist, I loved it. But when it comes to Turf Wars, everything is annoying and obnoxious. Worst Spider-Man story for a video game to date. No depth, no fun, no joy. Missions, bases, challenges and narrative are utterly disgusting. The only good things are the real Iron Spider and the Spider Armor MK1. Not worth buying nor playing, unless you really want the suits. Full Review »
