    Guardians of the Galaxy is a huge relief after last year's bad Avengers game that Square Enix was also a part of. I'm happy the same mistakes weren't repeated over at Eidos Montreal. This is overall a really good linear-style third person shooter with faithful ties to the comics, good humor and a highly replayable choice-driven story. Though the combat plays a little on the bland, genericGuardians of the Galaxy is a huge relief after last year's bad Avengers game that Square Enix was also a part of. This is overall a really good linear-style third person shooter with faithful ties to the comics, good humor and a highly replayable choice-driven story. Though the combat plays a little on the bland, generic side, issuing commands and combos with your team does help elevate the gameplay to a much more enjoyable experience. There are also of course a few bugs ranging from sound, graphical clipping and even a couple instances that required me to reload a checkpoint.     Youll be going forward through these linear sections, dealing with obstacles in the way and uing the other guradians to progress such as groot making a bridge or drax tipping things over or breaking walls.. and then there will be a fight, enemies will swarm you and you use your abilities and command the other 4 guardians for them to do teir special moves, and youll be able to fill up a meter to huddle up for some extra damage and listen to some classic 80s tunes while you kick alien butt.. at first this is all really fun, but eventually it just becomes tiresome, combat is so repetitive and a slog to get though due to how spongy enemies are, it just never feels satisfying and was my least favorite part of the game.. I enjoyed the traversing and problem solving, dealing with waves of bullet sponges, not so much…
    That’s being said, marvels guardians of the galaxy is a crazy goofy adevnute, there are great action pieces here.. the world is fun to get around, the writing is hilarious at times, and I loved the incorporation of 80s music,
    The game does overstay its welcome for somone not really a fan of the IP, but this is still a great game to run through

    I've never played a game let alone a MARVEL LICENSED Property, where I wanted to blast thru the action sequences so I could get to the next part of the story, or an interactive conversation to help patch up a friendship. It sounds insane but this is one of the best written and voiced/acted videogames EVER MADE. AND I won't lie... I cried last night... because of this game. Enter my wifeI've never played a game let alone a MARVEL LICENSED Property, where I wanted to blast thru the action sequences so I could get to the next part of the story, or an interactive conversation to help patch up a friendship. Enter my wife who now thinks I'm an utter whackjob. I honestly might prefer these versions of the Guardians of the Galaxy characters to the films... I know, WILD. How's it play? It's fun. Does it have performance issues and bugs aplenty?... Oh yes. But it is one of the most entertaining and engrossing games I've experienced in years. Kudos to Eidos Montreal for pulling this off, cuz I can't imagine the pitch to make it so story/character driven was an easy sell. Bravo tho... bravo.… Expand

    Мир не открытый, игра линейна. И это замечательно. Честное слово, открытый мир игру испортил бы.
    Герои прописаны замечательно. Характеры и отношения членов команды, особенно Дракса и Ракеты, на протяжении игры меняются, видно что они живые, а не тупые нпс, им сопереживаешь. Некоторые озвучены, как мне показалось, актёрами озвучившими фильм. Класс! Мантис просто великолепна! Думаю одна из лучших героинь второго плана вообще в играх. Шутки переданы отлично, иногда даже смешно. В игре вообще очень много персонажей комикса "Стражи галактики".
    Кстати теперь вы управляете не всеми героями по очереди как в Avengers, а только Звёздным лордом. Все остальные члены команды управляются вами, но вы им отдаёте приказы во время боя. Герои улучшаются, а ваш протагонист ещё и прокачивается.
    Боссы великолепные и их много. Но полноценных, так сказать, всего два. Остальных ты либо не успеваешь победить, либо они самоубиваются практически без нашего участия.
    Да, ещё в игре лицензионная музыка 80х - 90х годов. Я просто офигел когда перед битвой с финальным боссом заиграла «The Final Countdown»!!!
    Но самое главное это невероятная атмосфера. С героями банально грустно расставаться в конце игры.
    Есть и недостатки. Например в игре всего три сейва! Почему так мало? Ведь игра с обследованием уровней и если что то пропустил, всё баста, начинай игру сначала.
    Прокачка тоже странная. Я прокачался на 100% примерно на 10ой главе, а в игре их 16. Запчасти было не на что тратить.
    Но всё это мелочи. Игра отличная, это такой аналог фильма с увлекательной историей. Жалко Йонду Удонта не показали, а так даже Танос есть. Игра имеет огромный задел для продолжения, может в нём и Йонду появится. Буду очень ждать.
    И ещё одна важная мелочь. В игре нет никаких ЛГБТшных сюжетов, нет никаких не к месту напиханных негров, нет не нужных феминистических акцентов. В наше время это просто счастье!!!
    Советую всем! А поклонникам Стражей, играть в обязательном порядке!    … Expand

    If you are fan of Marvel's universe and Guardians of the galaxy in particular, this is a must play experience. The game itself is fun and enjoyable but what makes it special is the continuous interaction between the characters which gives you the feeling of being part of an a epic space adventure.

    GotG is a mediocre one-player campaign experience. The banter between the Guardians is great, but it never seems to stop. The actual mechanics are fine, but not nearly as polished as they could have been. Combat is messy and chaotic, but the enemy models are generally bland. (You'll be fighting a lot of blobs and variations thereof.) Upgrades are fine but not all that compelling. The majorGotG is a mediocre one-player campaign experience. Because the game has no real flow, and is constantly tripping over its own dick, for all its admirable qualities, cool aesthetic, and sparkly dialogue, it just isn't all that fun to play (given how little playing the player actually gets to do). As a side note, Guardians does NOT run well on the PS4. The frame rate is often atrocious, and loading screens can take upwards of 30 seconds (which gets real burdensome real fast when a sudden quicktime event requiring some button pushing or stick jockeying kills you, only to drop you prior to a two minute scene that you're forced to watch over again. Lather, rinse, repeat. After "playing" Guardians for nearly five hours, I'm guessing I got in around an hour of actual gameplay. As someone who often enjoys triple-A single player campaigns, I wish Guardians was way more compelling than it turned out to be.… Expand

    Have had a lot of trouble enjoying this game on a PS4. The game is very buggy and has a big effect on gameplay when trying to activate team members, shoot, use abilities with Star Lord. Love the story and am just really disappointed I can’t enjoy the game. Guess I need to get a PS5.

    This game was surprisingly good ! The story, the universe, the characters, all of it is just amazing. I really went in not hoping much but it's just funny and cool and has an interesting story. Aside from a few technical issues on ps4 ( inconsistent frame rate, buggy sound...) the game really looks amazing. I am glad that they took the time to write a great single player narrative.

    When you only focus on the story and leave the programming to a bunch of retards you get this garbage! Spent more than 40 hours for the plat,now that I've got 2 trophies left the black screen in chapter 12 won't let me proceed. And yes,tried loading previous chapters up until chapter 12 but still not working. Just stick to making your fu**ing sci-fi movies .

    It's.sadly not great because it has numerous technical graphical issues on ps4pro. It's simply not opimtised and i fear it will never be because they want you to buy a ps5 version. But it mostly runs ok on pro. And On vanilla it's a mess.

    But to be good you must accept that it's not some action adventure as much as a telltale story game or like that quantum break tv game hybrid or like become human etc. It's an interactive movie and when you accept that fact...the often linear limited janky gameplay becomes acceptable.

    The voice acting is superb as is the lip synching. The new guardian look and lore is absolutely fine and you'll quickly love them and want a sequel or dlc.

    The story is excellent for a video game though as a film it could be better. But i was always engaged.

    The music is amazing. Beyond technical issues if you have a 5.1 or 7.1 set up the licenced rock and pop tunes sound fantastic and really sell the game and brand.

    The actual sound is far less impressive and a low point. This connects to the lack of polish.

    The graphics are good but nothing mind blowing for 2021 and could have looked and ran alot better. The hdr is washed out. The framerate is under 30fps most of the time whicb is annoying. Also some pop up and lack of overall polish if you go to places not 100% on rails.

    Gotg is very much an onrail game but there are a few minor choices and seemingly endless alterntive scripts. There is a surprising amount of variety in such a rigid structure.

    And no microtransactions! And finding the outfits is rewarding and rhey look great.

    Well done devs! I hope you make another one as this game is awesome. So much better than that avengers rubbish (which I also play). On a ps5 or a pc this game might even be a 9/10. If you like Guardians comic or films then you have to own this.    … Expand

This game has zero microtransactions. Everything is unlockable (there is a couple of outfits extra in the deluxe edition, which I would say are    Spoiler free

    But also this is just a really great game especially for fans of the GOTG, it's more in line with the comic books, than the movies story wise but even then has its own take own take on origins etc. The soundtrack is epic, you have a great selection of licensed 80's classics, a great new album made for the game by a band called Star Lord and a great original score.

    Some may get disappointed you can only directly control Star Lord but I think that makes sense gameplay wise, as you get to control when the other guardians use their special abilities,.

    In some ways it's a lot like Mass Effect but not really an RPG so not quite, just a real fun third person action adventure game in space. A bunch of amazing Marvel Easter eggs and even non Marvel references. Like a Chewbacca figure for example.

    Guardian of the galaxy is 8/10 for me. Really fun to play, loved the script and direction of the game, it was like " I'm watching movie " type experience, Great implementation of GFX, very well highlighted stars, galaxies and different species that we interact with in the game. Good combat system. Great and fun dialogues

    If you like Guardians of the Galaxy movie type humor, you'll enjoy the dialogue of this game. It's a fun action RPG with a lot of fun dialogue. Wish there were more varied bosses but the overall game was fun.

It´s incredible well written story really fits the template of the comics, including characters, atmosphere and humor - all served without any microtransactions!     Very cool game, honestly i didn't expect that. The disc has lay down for months, Waiting for me to play. Vivid locations, Thoughtful guardians and zero **** that what i really liked in this game. I liked the marvel's movie about guardians, but the game is even better sometimes. There are small tech failures, but i guess because i played on my ps4 slim

The enemies are literally the most generic "Alien#1 looking creatures I've ever seen. No imagination went into their creation. All combat also takes place in a box, similar to that last Tomb Raider entry. The combat mechanics also aren't any good, they're a throwback to the PS2 generation (and not in a good way). The game is also plagued with QTE's which have been tiresome since Shenmue on the Dreamcast. The game also has a tendency to try to let the soundtrack carry it's more pivotal moments, like the films did. This is no substitute for actual good storytelling. Overall this title is a decent summer rental but honestly nothing more. I wouldn't recommend it to any friends either. Marvel's Spiderman offered a way more compelling experience.… Expand

    Just like the movie, i was surprised how good this was. I was nervous after the dumpster fire the Avengers game was. But obviously this game was done by completely different people and it shows. This game was a blast from beginning to end. No Virtue Signalling characters, No Politics just a good and fun story. Hope this will start a trend.

This game is based on the characters and events from the comics, not the movie universe and that only serves to aid this game in every way. This is definitely for people who like story-games, if you’re looking for something that you can turn off your brain and just shoot, this is not for you. For this game is like a BioWare and Telltale game put together.

    The story is immersive and completely engaging. I felt every moment with the characters and loved each time I got to interact with them or when we got to hear their backstory. I truly felt that the growth the Guardians went through was earned. There were moments where you got to make a choice, in dialogue, in character events, and like Telltale games the characters would remember it and have an effect down the line. And like a BioWare game, the way you interacted with your team could help rally them together or set them against each other. Everyone was well voice-acted and there were so many moments where I was just laughing because the comedy was gold. To say too much about the story though would spoil it, but it’s like a well-written book.

    The gameplay is super fun. You play specifically as Star-Lord but you have complete control over the rest of the team’s actions in a fight, as you unlock everyone’s abilities as you progress. I loved being able to pair the different abilities together and learning what would work best in a particular fight. The special abilities pair together for combos that are what you’re working for. Each ability on its own isn’t too powerful, but together you can destroy enemies. There’s a minimal skill tree that actually makes sense as it’s paired with the story, you earn things as the characters grow.

    Just as the creators promised, there are no microtransactions or DLC. They focused completely on story and characters. The collectibles (costumes, things for your companions) were all located in game, in easy to find places if you just looked. And the collectibles for your team would actually enable a conversation with them that gave more history to the characters.

    My only problem with the game was once I got to Chapter 8 and fighting on the ship begins in earnest, bugs begin to appear. Throughout the next few chapters I had odd happenings of we’d defeat all the enemies but the fight wouldn’t end, I’d be trapped and couldn’t continue to the next scene. The game thought that the last enemy killed was still alive, in fact the first time it happened the enemy was invisible but I found his health bar floating. We managed to trigger a finisher but nothing happened, it still acted as though he was alive. I couldn’t even jump off the ledge to fix it; I had to reload the last checkpoint. This happened a few other times. There was also an instance where I went down the path but no companions followed and I couldn’t get back to them. Once again I had to reload the last checkpoint. One of Drax’s collectibles was bugged where after speaking to him, I was frozen in spot and couldn’t do anything but reload. And nearer to the end a few times, Groot should have been speaking but no sound occurred. It’s very odd especially since when I popped the game in, it had an update. I’m not sure what the update involved but clearly it didn’t do anything to solve what should be easy to fix bugs. But while frustrating, it didn’t ruin the game experience for me.

    I would absolutely recommend this game for comic fans and any fan of great story games. I’m so glad I got it. I even found that this game has a prequel book that involves the time of the war that is constantly referenced to in this game, along with just before the game!    … Expand

    Ich konnte das Spiel nun ausführlich testen und zocken.
    - schwacher Sound - Hin und wieder Soundabbrüche
    - Soundbugs, so das man das Spiel neu starten muss - krasse Ruckler - nie eine stabile Framerate - Jedes Level fühlt sich an wie eine Arena die Geschichte ist gut, die Interaktion zwischen den Charakteren ist auch gelungen.     It's okay, but it feels more like they wanted to make a movie more than a video game because there isn't much game to play. Too many cutscenes and QTEs instead. When there is combat, it feels too crowded. Enemies are just damage sponges. You're better off just playing on easy and enjoying the story. In combat, you can only play the one character, so that isn't so fun. In dungeons, you'reIt's okay, but it feels more like they wanted to make a movie more than a video game because there isn't much game to play. Too many cutscenes and QTEs instead. Kinda reminds me of playing Final Fantasy 7 Remake in that respect.

    Graphics look real nice on my PS4 Pro, but the game has some pretty long load times and buggy. I actually got stuck in the wall and between objects a few times. Had to reload my last save!

    Didn't like how your other crew members just wouldn't shut the hell up! And it sounds like they're all shouting too. Over time I just tuned them out since they really said nothing of value anyway.    … Expand

Хорошая картинка и приятная музыка, ценителям классического и хард РОКА точно понравится. Много отсылок к комиксам Марвел присутствует в игре, для тех кто знаком с ними, будет возможно интересно, а тем кто не знаком, это не повлияет на сюжет... ИграИгра интересная и весёлая.     I have to say I went into this expecting just another **** game, i just got it bc it was on the free games catalog for ps plus extra. But MAN THIS GAME IS GOOD
    The Story is really REALLY well made, the voice acting is FLAWLESS, I think this game really got the right vibe for all the characters in it.     Отдельно отмечу отличную работу с загрузками. Они замечаются только когда умираешь. Но в остальном, как только загрузился уровень -    Я в восторге!

Да, они происходят либо во время кат-сцен, либо в каких-то маленьких интерактивных моментах, но всё выглядит так, будто игра "бесшовная" даже на PS4.

    В игре нет практически ничего лишнего, она не будет заставлять вас гриндить и сражать толпы безликих врагов. Сражений ровно столько, сколько нужно. Сюжета ровно столько, сколько нужно. И сюжет даже может заставить вас пустить скупую мужскую слезу даже в линии Дракса... ДРАКСА!!! Я серьезно.

    Боевая система - интересна. Не знаю что там с её критикой, мне было интересно с самого начала и со временем становилось только интереснее, ведь и боевая система углублялась, добавляя новые приемы всем членам команды.

    Лучше, что делалось по Marvel за последние несколько лет, включая фильмы (со времен игры про Человека Паука и последнего фильма про Мстителей). Я остался доволен и сюжетом, и геймплеем и вам советую.

По факту користувався однією, або двома здібностями у кожного ( всього 4 здібності на кожного члена команди ).Розмови між персонажами цікаві, і взага персонажі вийшли хорошими та цікавими.Єдине що тримало в цій грі до кінця це сюжет який як на мене досить цікавий, а от бойова система дуже занудна і цікава кілька годин. Great storyline, gameplay, characters, the soundtrack is so good and all together it creates such fun atmosphere, the time fly bye playing it.     Story is quite engaging for a superheroes game where I'm not into the movie of GOTG. The only issues is the banter sometimes are just way too long and you cannot move your character and camera when you enter this state.

    Gameplay is fun and every mechanic in the combat system is well executed. I think this is the best game in terms of team fight but you are the one who control all of your team and its flarking great.

    The issues that I have is the game still has some game breaking bug. Sometimes I got knock away by enemies and Peter merged with the object in the environment which mean he's stuck and cannot move at all. Then, after I meet matriarch and beat all the "goons" I cannot proceed with the game. I reload the game and restart the fight and turns out there should be a platform for Peter and the gang to climb after that but it's not showing at all before I reload the game. The subtitles also bugging where sometimes the subtitles is not active. I need to pause the game and resume it to make it active again which is weird.

    Other unpleasant experience is the characters itself when they are not in the cutscene. The Voice Actor did a great job at delivering their lines and making the context of the story clear but the animation team (?) did a terrible job. The VA is quite expressive when delivering their lines but the in game characters face are way too flat, they look like robot.

    The game is flarking great but I don't think its worth a flarking 60$ so better wait for a sale for this game.    … Expand

    Yes it was buggy, so all games nowadays are. Wait couple of months and it plays just fine. Not a revolutionary game but cant expect that on ps4 anymore. I havent had such a immersive story line in ages so strong 9.

    Stellar title. Dialogue is hilarious just like in the films. Gameplay is easy to learn and compelling. Plot is somewhat deep and simple to understand. Enjoyed the smoothness of the game.

    O jogo é excelente em questão de historia, a gameplay também é boa mas tem seus erros, por exemplo: na hora de vc trocar de elemento e meio difícil, pois é no dpad que troca e isso atrapalha um pouco na hora de trocar o elemento, mas o jogo e legal do início ao fim, e as conversas dos personagens durante a gameplay são ótimas, e o design dos personagens estão perfeitos, só não dei nota 10O jogo é excelente em questão de historia, a gameplay também é boa mas tem seus erros, por exemplo: na hora de vc trocar de elemento e meio difícil, pois é no dpad que troca e isso atrapalha um pouco na hora de trocar o elemento, mas o jogo e legal do início ao fim, e as conversas dos personagens durante a gameplay são ótimas, e o design dos personagens estão perfeitos, só não dei nota 10 porquê a troca de elementos é meio ruim, mas esse foi o único defeito que eu achei no jogo, minhas expectativas eram baixas mas quando eu joguei o jogo eu amei e zerei sem nem perceber, então joguem sem medo porque esse jogo é maravilhoso.… Expand

    I cannot recommend playing Marvel's Guardians enough for the experience it provides. Its decision to focus on story, characters, and ambiance instead of trying to throw in a bunch of content that pads the adventure results in an amazing game. It is right up there with the Arkham Trilogy and Marvel's Spider-Man as one of the best superhero video games of all time.
