A collection of some of Capcom's best fighting games, which are still incredibly fun to play today. Only HD remasters or remakes are better than this, but you won't be able to stop playing and wanting to share with friends.

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection Arcade Classics is nothing short of excellent. With seven amazing fighting games bundled together, it offers a huge variety of characters and well-designed bonuses, making it a must-have for fans of the genre.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is sensational. It’s Capcom’s best retro collection yet, in fact, packing in not only one the best fighting games ever made, but also one of the best side-scrolling beat ’em ups. The truth is, each and every game included here is a classic in its own right, though, and all play absolutely flawlessly and have been enhanced with additional features and more. What more can I say, other than it’s Marvel-ous.

All the legendary games from the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection remain endlessly fun and show no signs of aging, even decades later. The compilation itself is of the high quality we've come to expect from Capcom in recent years.

Marvel versus Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a superb release from Capcom. It has all the 90s Marvel/Capcom arcade classics, a decent Punisher game, and some goodies that were only featured in Japan (mainly Norimaro). The collection will please any gamer who enjoys classic fighters. The younger crowd may not love it, as fighting games have become more complicated and competitive, something not as prevalent in these, but it’s a great way to revisit some classics for those who enjoy doing so.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics gathers some of the most important parts of Capcom's history and offers them back in a comprehensive package. To experience such a rich collection on modern consoles with today's standards is an opportunity nobody should miss.

Overall this compilation is a fantastic package, it’s really hard to find flaws in it. Although I did wish in offline mode there was a way to quickly reset the game instead of having to go back to the game selection to restart. It’s certainly a minor nitpick. With a Capcom Fighting Collection 2 already set for 2025, let’s hope we’ll get other Quality of Life changes and this might be a pipedream, but perhaps Capcom can take a page out of Jackbox’s playbook and put out a single launcher for their various collections. I mean the company sure has a lot of retro compilations (I’m counting 3, Arcade Stadium, Fighting Collection and Beat’em Up Bundle).

A full and comprehensive release of all of Capcom's Marvel games in arcade-perfect condition, with a bunch of options, extras, and bonuses. This package includes everything the fighting game community has been asking for. Spend some time, attempt to get good, then hop online to get beat up. The advanced players been waiting for this for a long time.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics largely makes good on its simple premise. All of the games included here are of a great quality, and Capcom fortunately hasn't messed anything up in the porting process. This combined with some of the ancillary bonus features makes Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection just as interesting as a historical piece as it is a game that can be played with friends. Whether you're a newcomer or a veteran to Marvel vs. Capcom, this is a collection that is well worth the price of admission and should hopefully pave the way for a wholly new installment.

Most players know whether they are interested in this collection. The fans have been begging for it for years. We finally have it, and as of this writing they managed to sort out the issues with the Xbox version, so it is coming to that console next year, so it will be available on literally everything. It is impossible not to recommend this package if you have any sort of interest in fighting games. There is a reason these games are still so well revered, and this collection gives a whole new generation of players a chance to find out why.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics may not have some of the single-player content or historical context I’d love to see in the very best collections, but what it does offer are six of the best fighting games ever made in arcade perfect form with seemingly excellent online infrastructure. That’s more than enough to make this a must-own for anyone remotely interested in the genre.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is easily the best and most robust collection of classic Capcom fighters so far. While the lack of crossplay is still a disappointment carrying over from Capcom Fighting Collection, everything else about this collection shines bright. It is a truly exhaustive compilation that celebrates so much no matter how much you're into Capcom, Marvel or both.
  15. Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is an intensely unwieldy name, but it’s a hearty collection of some of the best arcade games Capcom ever made. If you’re a fighting game fan or an arcade nostalgic, you owe it to yourself to play Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection.

MARVEL vs, CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is exactly what it says on the front and so much more. This collection is a triumphant return for a selection of games that many thought lost to complicated industry red tape, and it comes back with some serious bite. The 6 fighting games in this collection are almost perfectly preserved for new hardware and modern audiences, with a suite of additional features to fill out the experience into both a preservation effort and a deep-dive into Capcom's history with Marvel. While it might take a bit of work for newcomers to get to grips with these classic games, the effort is well worth it for one of the most well-realised crossovers in gaming history.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics brings us six great fighting games from one of the best crossovers in this genre, including a beat 'em up that not all of us enjoyed back then. This is the way collections should be released: Additional enhancements, Gallery Mode, and tweaks to online options. What else could you ask for?

Capcom is doing an excellent job with its collections dedicated to classic fighting games, and this Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is another gem that brings together seven titles that have made history in the genre. Marvel vs. Capcom 2 alone is a must-play for all enthusiasts, but all the other games included are also very interesting, especially because they show how the tag team formula introduced in Capcom games has evolved over time. Lastly, the inclusion of an online multiplayer mode with rollback netcode and many other options makes these old fighting games more accessible to a younger audience.

The collection is indispensable for Capcom fighting game fans, both for the older ones who experienced that era in its entirety and for newcomers to get to know it better. These are memorable games, capable of rekindling the flame of nostalgia while preserving the legacy, ensuring that these gems are not forgotten by time and modernity.

When it comes to preserving history, this is about as good as it can get from an official source. Between backwards compatibility and being on a platform like Steam, there are fewer ways that even a licensing deal expiration can get in the way of playing this collection in the coming years. And in the meantime, having these games on current platforms makes them more playable than ever, although not having cross-platform play is a big bummer. And for even deeper diving and appreciation, the museum content is as top-notch as we’ve come to expect from Capcom’s recent slate of classic collections. “When’s Marvel?” finally has a suitable answer.

A solid collection, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics will appeal to fans of 2D fighters. A few new tweaks don't detract from the arcade charm, making this a worthy collection for those who have always wanted to settle a bet about whether Ryu can beat Cyclops in a brawl.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a beautiful and nostalgic tribute that revives 7 iconic fighting games. Although the lack of additional modes and cross-play limits its potential, it remains an excellent option for both veteran and new players. Still, we can’t help but feel that Capcom could have done more to make it the ultimate collection.

Six Marvel fighting games and one obscure beat-’em-up might sound like a downgrade compared to the other, larger Capcom Fighting Collections, but the star power of Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics makes it more than worth investing in. Despite a lack of evolution compared to its predecessor, the respect for these titles is felt regardless, and it makes the case for an MvC4 better than anything else. Anyone with an interest in the fighting genre should find something to love here, and The Punisher might even spark love for a different corner of Capcom's catalog. A thorough Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection has been a long time coming, and its arrival feels like the celebration it should be.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics brings together multiple beloved arcade classics. The seven games included in the collection haven't been heavily altered from their original arcade releases, save for the art and music galleries and online play, but that's perfectly fine. These games were great in the arcade and they remain fun today in their unaltered state. The six fighting games, when played in order, can show the evolution of bringing the Marvel Universe to Capcom's approach to fighting games, starting with the straightforward one-on-one matches of X-Men: Children of the Atom to the three-on-three tag team matches between 52 characters in Marvel vs. Capcom 2. Countless hours of enjoyment can be had fighting against friends in the six fighting games, with The Punisher serving as a nice bonus game when the gameplay style needs a change of pace.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics includes some of the best fighters in the genre and is a must-have for enthusiasts. Packed with a range of features such as the ability to alter display filters, online options, training modes, and even a music player, the game is comprehensive. Although I would have liked to see a museum-style mode with interviews and commentary on the game’s creation, the quality-of-life improvements and rich selection of fighters make this a standout collection.

What makes every game in this collection so special (despite the best efforts of Sir Spamalot Magneto), despite some being 30 years old, give or take, they still play as good, if not better than most modern fighting games, which is testament to the talents of the developers. It doesn't matter if you were playing the original games back in the day or for the very first time right now, Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics surpasses anything nostalgia has to offer and is one of the most definitive collections of fighting games that you’ll play today.

Marvel Vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is a complete package that delivers a wonderful collection of games while adding modern niceties such as a feature-rich training mode, and high-quality online play. It’s great to see Capcom learn from its mistakes to dial things in with its most recent collections. While it is a fairly priced product, the value is considerably worse if you only buy it to play Marvel Vs. Capcom 2. So, I do encourage everyone who picks up this collection to at least try the other games included. Odds are you’ll have a marvelous time.

Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is an essential release if you’re after one of the most prolific parts of fighting game history. The museum mode is a treat, and the games themselves seem to be arcade-perfect conversions, apart from MvC 1 (which should hopefully be fixed in a patch given it’s fine in the PC release). While some bonus features from the console versions of these games would’ve been nice, it’s still undeniably a great collection of titles.

Marvel vs Capcom Fighting Collection combines seven superb arcade classics, even though Marvel vs Capcom 2's superiority does make five of them feel a tad redundant. The addition of The Punisher is a welcome extra, but the Museum mode is on the basic side.

MARVEL vs. CAPCOM Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics is one of the great surprises for all those veterans of the arcades during the 90s and early 2000s. Despite everything, it can be just as enjoyable for those people who, like me, didn't have the chance to live in that era. However, I think some new modes would have been perfect, but the online mode will give it more life in the competitive aspect.
