Sure it might be a bit more expensive than it should be, and it doesn't have the DLC (hope it comes eventually), but it's exactly the game I remember.

The price for the bundle is acceptable for me considering I loved the games so much when they were out before. Does it hold up to modern ARPGS? Probably not. Is it fun? Yes. Will I play the heck out of this? Yes.

So, there may be some issues, but even if nothing changes, I'm happy with my purchase for this and the second game.

The game is actually quite awesome of the cool, fun locations to travel trough game, such as S.H.I.E.L.D. Heli Carrier at the start, Murderworld, Asgard just to mention a few. The combat is also pretty great when we talk about that each character have many diffirent powers, weapons to attack with and etc. MUA1 is the greatest, and that I was write much of here. The second one is much more unintresting unfortunately. Expand

First, some performance issues over the original games make it feel like a newer version of itself. Those who say its the same game clearly don't remember the poor framerate of the earlier versions. Having played MuA 2 just before the Civil War movie on the xbox 360 I can testify it runs much differently.

Second, the concern about DLC was addressed days after release. It took a couple of weeks but the dlc characters are there.

Third, the price. Yes it's a but high, wait for a sale maybe? The alternative is this stuff not existing. This is the definitive versions of these games and I was more than happy to pay considering back in May I wished they would do this, but knowing licensed games rarely get re issues.

The ps4 port runs great now and I'm having a blast. so much so I'm neglecting newer games, but I love these games. If you passed on it earlier go back and give it some love.

    Marvel Ultimate Alliance
    Great Potential
Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a dungeon crawler beat em up where you play as your choice of 4 marvels heroes, or a mix with online or local co-op out of 25 different characters to be unlocked with collectibles , secrets and story progression.
You team up of course to stop doom from doing his usually doom thing of trying to take over the world…
your journey to stop him will take your characters to a variety of locations like Atlantis and asguard…
unfortunately while the scenery does change at a decent pace, the gameplay doesn’t…
This game is a monotonous and ridiculously long 17 hours…
During this 17 hours you do the dungeon crawl thing of just killing everything for fairly minimal loot with very much welcomed but too thinly spread out puzzle and platforming sections …
Bosses will drop rings for stat boosts, but that’s about it…
There no real incentive to explore or even defeat all enemies other than unlocking new characters as leveling up doesn’t seem too significant... and if you have your favorite 4 unlocked, why even bother finding these hidden figures…
As you level up your stats unnoticeably increase and you unlock new moves that you can assign to a button command.. you can also unlock suits by using characters or completing a comic mission hidden throughout the world…
These optional comic missions tell the story of one individual character to give more insight on them to new fans and hit that nostalgia button of existing fans of characters.. And as stated already, completing these missions successfully will unlock a new suit for your character... and thankfully these suits are not just skins... they all have their own special perks which will actually give you a hard time choosing from… and you can upgrade these perks with the coins that enemies drop.. but again it doesn’t really feel too significant….
Combat in this game is fairly basic, but characters do all handle and feel unique, some can fly, some have projectiles, some are straight up brutes… if you get too bored, which you definitely will, you can switch out your team at any time when you run into a save point…
there’s also over 17 boss battles and mini boss battles in this game… but are essentially either a straight up beat em up brawl or dodge attacks and do a quick time event…. Which are surprisingly some of the more better boss fights as they throw in a splash of variety… but really aren’t that great and don’t require any real strategy…
While Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a great love letter to the marvel fans, packed with material that even I can appreciate while not being a marvel fan.. I feel like the game drags on and keeps you in its lackluster locations far too long, ultimately making this game feel like a drag...
That being said, if you’re a marvel fan I still believe this game is worth your money
    I give Marvel Ultimate Alliance
    a 7.5/10

(Review based on the PS4 port and not in the actual game)

Marvel Ultimate Alliance is a Great game. an Top Down Action RPG similar to Diablo with the most Beloved Marvel Heroes and Villains included! truly is an awesome game...
BUT the PS4 Version is Garbage! and I'll tell you the Problems!

Problem No. 1: No DLC Included
if this was suppose to be the Superior version of the game, so you expect a LOT of Improvements and all Previous DLC released on it.. Guess what? NONE OF THEM ARE HERE! that means no Sabretooth, no Magneto, no Doctor Doom, no Venom (My favorite Marvel Villain) and NO HULK!

Problem No. 2: The Performance or Graphics didn't changed a bit
I'm not the one type of guy who Cares more about graphics rather than Gameplay and Content (I'm excited for King of Fighters XIV on PS4) but just to remind you, this is a REMASTER on a 8th Generation Console... and it still looks like a Last gen game. the Performance is bad, because it doesn't even run on 60fps per second like you expect on a PS4 game (and Remaster too) and it still has Slowdowns! this ISN'T PS4! even Project Diva X looks better than this

    Problem No. 3: The Price
$40 Dollars is the Price for this game on PS4. the fact that Activision didn't bother on improving the game and even Make the price cheaper bugs me... and guess what, if you don't buy the Bundle for 60 Dollars, and get just one of the games, you will have to pay more 40 Dollars to get the other game! there are so many better remasters and games with the Same or Cheaper price than this Port

Problem No. 4: It's shows how Activision only cares about your Money and Nothing else
This is a Cheap, Lazy and Unbelievably bad Remaster/Port of a Great game, don't buy it! Instead pick your Xbox 360 Version on the Xbox Live Arcade Marketplace that Includes all DLC Characters and for the same price as this "Supposedly" Improved version.

    F*** Activision

UPDATE: it's a 5/10 now since some things were fixed the problems like the lack of Gold Edition characters and some other issues as well

I was excited about this game because I thought they would atleast make the game close to the next gen/current gaming PC. Pretty obvious now that all they did was release the same game to collect extra profits off fans of the game. It really is pathetic how they are using fans of the game to exploit more money. Funniest part is that they are charging 40 for it.. Outside of GTA and Last of Us( which were both great remasters), you rarely see a remastered game cost this much. Hopefully the game doesn't sell very well because this will set a new precedent for gaming companies. Expand
