    Biggest **** game ever made! Has nothing to do with football at all. Every step is triggered by animations and an algorythm machine in the background. Example: Make a pass to a really wide open receiver - the cpu decide if its a catch or not! You want blocks from your lineman zzzz nope they stupid like the last five years!     This franchise has made next to no improvement in over a decade, if anything the games have lost features at every release.
    Despite showing improvement over Madden 19, Madden 20 is underwhelming to say the least.
    Franchise is barebone and boringly repetitive, features that were in such games a decade ago are nowhere to be found, nothing feels realistic or immersive and you'll find    This franchise has made next to no improvement in over a decade, if anything the games have lost features at every release.
    Despite showing improvement over Madden 19, Madden 20 is underwhelming to say the least.

    Franchise is barebone and boringly repetitive, features that were in such games a decade ago are nowhere to be found, nothing feels realistic or immersive and you'll find yourself dumbfounded at every turn at how some most obvious things aren't included.
    personalization is next to inexistant.

    The gameplay itself is shameful, the user vs user experience basically consist in a small array of meta plays that you can use over and over.

    The User vs CPU experience is the worst video game experience i've had. The game feels scripted, lacks logic and is solely animation dependent. EA seems to struggle with balancing difficulty and their solution seems to add a threshold to your players. Speed is limited, movement is limited and all players seems to lack awareness. On the other hand the AI players feel like a superstar all team, movement, speed and blocking is superior to anything you can accomplish and ratings seem to have little to no effect on them. Making the whole experience extremely frustrating.

    Ultimate team is a Pay to Win mode, matchmaking is a nightmare and forces you to either spend a ridiculous amount of time building a team or pay it for in game content. The pack system resemble online gambling and should not be allowed on a game with such a large age range.    … Expand

The madden community is sick and tired of the ignoring of major issues/ lack of features, in favor of the virtual gambling targeted towards children in “Ultimate Team.” For a company that makes billions of dollars they basically release an updated roster dlc with only new features that change nothing about the horrific gameplay issues.EA has been doing nothing to their game since 2016.     Worst game in existence. The game is almost decided right after the coin toss. The game rewards people who do the same **** 20 times in a row but makes it impossible for people who try to choose the right play for the situation. If madden is going to keep being made, it shouldn’t be by EA. Here’s an example of how bad it is:

He takes it back bc somehow Juju can now moss Earl Thomas. I get the ball again and I scramble with Lamar and guess what? Another fumble. He turns it around and scores after James Connor jukes our three linebackers at once. It’s tied now. He makes a 56 yard field goal to win it. I hate Madden so much.    … Expand

    A game that thrives off of microtransactions instead of user enjoyment is a travesty. The game has fewer features then it did a decade ago and has only increased the number of bugs and glitches. Leaves me feeling defeated, because of gameplay flaws, scripted plays, triggered animations, lack of depth, empty “new” additions, old useless features (challenging plays??), the list goes on - andA game that thrives off of microtransactions instead of user enjoyment is a travesty.     This madden like the last 4/5 maddens is awful! the developers are so lazy they forgot to put the banner up for the patriots 6th Super Bowl at the beginning of the season until damn near October. The defensive backs make spectacular jump ball catches when wide receivers play horrible defense in janky animations. Sometimes the running back just gets hit in the face or stomach unresponsive. This usually happens when the running back is in the best position to make a big play. Or my favorite he just drops the ball. The madden animations are so trash its hard to even be competitive some teams just get better animation plane and simple. The advanced audibles put the players so far out of position if you guess wrong its like your giving away yardage. This game is awful from head to toe. I can not even say it looks good anymore because thats all it has is good visuals of the players physical makeup and uniforms and so on. However overall the game is a tragic disaster with plays that don't work challenge feature and instant replay that doesn't work.… Expand

    If you are rating this above a 5 you’ve most likely never played a down of football in your life. The blocking schemes never make sense the defense moves in unnatural ways and the ai is not smart enough to realize then when you’ve run the same play on them 15 time you’re probably gonna run it again even on all madden. Besides the fact that it doesn’t play like a football game there aren’tIf you are rating this above a 5 you’ve most likely never played a down of football in your life. Buy the original xbox and get NFL 2k5. 15 years later and madden is still attempting to compete with a 15 year old game. All of their "new" features are in many maddens on the original xbox and ps2, like the pro bowl. its CRAZY how the hardware we have now is so much better,just awful. there is nothing else to say. simulation football games should NOT have a 'meta'. Nothing is good about this game other than EA sports getting the names of the players right. Would rather play head coach or madden 08 on pc than this garbage. no depth to franchise mode, all their energy seems to go to MUT. I do not find MUT fun or appealing. Bring back squads with regular teams. Bring realism, depth and consistency to franchise mode. At the very least,created an account just to say how much I hate this game and series.     All this game cares about is selling MUT packs. It is a sad break from a game that had such a long tradition of success pre Madden 13. Shame

    Hadn't played madden in a few years and decided to give it a try because of a few positive reviews.
    What I found were Bugs, canned animations, and a franchise mode that is still behind the previous generations of consoles. Madden is broken and EA has no intention of fixing it. Save your money and buy madden 12 or one of the 2k games instead.

    One of the worst of the Madden franchise installments by far, looking back on the games that went before it, how many of the features the community has been asking for have been implemented? Don't invest your money into a company that treats it's consumer base like cattle and until future Madden on PS5 prove they're listening to us, don't give in to the hype.

Gameplay is not good, with the AI being even worse, but EA tries to hide the lack of football logic by having constant big plays and over the top    TL:DR Not recommended, better of spending $60 on Madden 16 or older (best case is madden 12 and older) and other football alternatives. Franchise is horrible, no coaching carousels which is present in Nba2k series and MLB THE SHOW (idk about other games), commentary is very repetitive and boring, with the other sports games surpassing madden easily in this category. Franchise still has no career stats tracker showing teams, which is unacceptable in my opinion. While I enjoy online heavy modes in games, MUT is an awful mode meant to milk fans. MUT is a basically a pay-to-win card trading game with RESETS every release, which makes this mode simply cash grab. If your cards stayed with you, maybe MUT would be decent, but that fact alone ruins MUT. FOTF is still glorified connected franchise, with slight improvements, but still no where near as in depth as Road To The Show or Nba2k. KO and The Yard are nice additons and decent side modes, but the bad gameplay makes nether mode worth playing. These two modes are simply in the game to give an appearance of change. Madden 06-12, was more in depth than this game is, and this game is released as the last current-gen madden before next-gen. Madden 12 was released during 360/ps3 days. This game is really a sad story of how what was once a household name for football and a must have game in the 2000's has gone to a dumpster fire. EA doesn't care about this game or the fans, but us, the longtime fans continue to criticize in the hopes of reliving the glory days of madden. EA has abandoned the community that gave rise to a golden age 2005-2009 for a community of youth and causal sports fans who have yet to realize what playing Madden 2006 on ps2 was like. There was once a day where you could create whatever team you wished for, built a team off of realistic gameplay and good trade logic, and when bored, mini camp mode existed for both player progression and for fun. The days of being good at football are long-gone, with the days of cheese and overly gimmicky and poorly tuned gameplay.    … Expand

    Complete trash. Came back to the franchise after 14 years off and it’s gotten worse. Bring back ESPN 2K series. What a shame that a game that’s 15 years older has better physics than the sorry excuse of a simulation football game madden 20 is.

Nowt his game is taking on an NFL Blitz type style and the MUT mode is ridiculous with the card updates and rating garbage. Remember when EA was" If it's in the game, it's in the game" SIMULATION STYLE.?!.     -X-Factor abilities are a highlight of this installment but about 90% of them are worthless/don’t work when you need them to
    -The receiver catch rate is atrocious on All-Madden, which is the only mode realistic enough to play - it’s even worse when you have a created QB and you can’t control the receivers at all so you just have to pray that they don’t bobble it or fumble it
    -Speaking of receivers, their first defense against a contested catch is to volleyball the ball up in the air so one of the 4 DBs surrounding him can get a gift-wrapped pick - this happens maybe once a week in the NFL, it can happen several times per game in Madden 20.
    -The amount of fumbles, picks, and sacks in this game are laughable - it feels like the game has played the “Fumbleitis” card from back in the Madden 01 era when cheat cards existed
    - Defensive pass rushers > elite pass blockers all day- yes, you will be sacked several times a game because the OL will let the DE through uncontested - your QBs X-Factor ability to dodge incoming DB blitzes has never worked either -Your DBs will blow coverage on almost every long conversion attempt by your opponent’s offense - the only way to avoid this is to User Lurk with a defender, which ironically still leaves huge holes in pass coverage
    -The computer opponent will suddenly get a huge momentum shift in the second half when they are losing and go into God mode, I’m assuming so the game stays close - trash QBs will have a perfect passer rating in the second half -You’ll be tasked to put up 400+ passing yards as a game goal against an elite secondary, resulting in you only being able to reach all of your weekly goals only a couple of times a season
    -QB accuracy is a dumpster fire when there is any pressure at all
    -Most games you have to take what the defense gives you, no matter how much you study defense and make pre snap adjustments

    I could go on but you get the picture. In an attempt to make Madden 20 fresh and new, EA once again gave us another football game riddled with frustrating glitches, unrealistic gameplay due to an overpowered computer defense and the worlds worst offense, and the recycled MUT online mode that isn’t worth playing unless you want to spend thousands of real dollars and use exploitative game tactics to win.

    After playing a couple of long franchises and several created player iterations, I took the game out of my console and threw it in the trash where it belongs.    … Expand

EA should move off from the frostbite engine as the animations give the player no user control.

    FRANCHISE - EA is letting us play the pro bowl again. After removing it. They removed and then advertised it like it was the biggest thing to happen to the game. The Scenario Engine is super flawed and there are a lot of issue that need to be fixed. Franchise still needs the overhaul it deserves cause it can't compete with franchise modes such as 2K's MyLeague and MLB The Show's Franchise. We still don't have things like training camp, better scouting(clicking 3 buttons isn't scouting), create-a-team, and a whole lot more.

    FACE OF THE FRANCHISE: Ok. WTF is this. 2 college games. 2. Only 2. Without the NCAA games, fans have been wanting some sort of a licensed NCAA type game. But advertising 2 games is super stupid. I would've been fine with 1 full season. Acting is terrible, and the 3 voices you can choose from are corny as hell. The draft combine is just the passing drills. No 40 yard dash? No bench press? No broad jump? Also, you can only play as a QB. I understand why, as the mode is in it's first year. After you get drafted, it's just the career mode we've had for years! Nothing else after the story! This was terrible even for its first year.

    MUT - not many improvements. Still no practice mode and things like create a team like the other sports games. Micro transactions still ruin the game, and I feel like the pack odds have decreased from last year.

    SUPERSTAR KO - No one asked for it. The game takes up too many resources that EA Devs have been saying that they don't have. The reason this mode exists is for marketing. I'm not saying the mode is bad(it's kinda fun), but with problems in every other game mode, EA decides to add the **** Migos and DJ Khaled.

    the game is trash. but what is worse than that is microtransactions. they manipulate young kids to waste a lot of money and gamble. the same game every year with less content and more cost. this is not how a video game should be

    Wow udder trash. Animations are outdated. You get sucked into tacklers. Lack of fluid anything honestly. Menus have changed thats about it.

    Madden NFL 20 is still one of the best videogames if you want to simulate any sport but it's very clear that it needs more: more graphics, more gameplay changes, more news in its modes... X-Factor is a good new, but still insufficient to sense that gameplay is different that last year's edition.

    Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).
