    If you want a good football game, you're out of luck. They have not added enough for it to be worth $60 or even any discount price. The improvements made on this game would have been a monthly update/patch on any other game. You get Face of the Franchise and Pro bowl, which were both in the game in older maddens. There is really nothing new and not worth the money at all.

    Releasing games with minimal, cosmetic changes to it and charge for them full retail price as for a completely new product should be banned and prosecuted. I am not even starting here on ridiculous monetization aspects of it concentrated on exploitation of modern, let's be honest not very smart kids....

    While improved on some mechanics (not all -- zone coverage is still too easy to manipulate), Madden 20 ultimate fails to deliver in an overall capacity. You don't even need to compare this to 2k5, as Madden 08, a game made 12 years ago, holds more depth and detail (as well as better gameplay) than Madden 20. Hell, X-Factors were in Madden    Save your money for Maximum Football 2019!

    EA continues to put profit before people when they continue to disregard what the fans have been asking for year in and year out. The franchise pales in comparison to Madden 08 or 2k5 in regards to depth, and we continue to be without create-a-team for some reason, isolating the more creative sports gamers.

    Face of the Franchise is "okay", but becomes repetitive and unrealistic. (Yeah, like Tom Brady is going to message a rookie before gameday)

    I am happy I cashed in a free rental for this game, as I wouldn't honestly pay $20 for this game, much less $60.    … Expand

    To the NFL; please. Cancel ea’s exclusive contract and let 2K or some other company make a madden game. They’re a garbage company and don’t give a damn about the sport of football, or gamers playing the football game. They’ve bastardized this once good franchise with subpar performance, and an insane greed for money. We need a community proud to buy this game, and you’re not helping by allowing EA to screw gamers AND the NFL (after all, it is your organization they’re using.     Madden gets worse every year. Yeah the game looks pretty and the graphics are nice but the gameplay is utter trash. They don’t want to put money into the game to make it better but they fool kids into buying this game every year.

    I'm glad to see the low user review scores, the Madden community is hopefully starting to wake up. They release the SAME GAME EVERY YEAR. All the new things they added this year were in previous games and were taken out. That's not a new feature! Last year they made around 800 million on Madden, where is that money going? The only thing they put any effort into anymore is the terrible MUT mode, which is for whales that like spending a lot of money on worthless digital items. It's time to start voting with our wallets and demand improvements, or they will keep on releasing the same lazy crap every year. Like I said they made $800 MILLION DOLLARS off of it last year and can't even be bothered to fix bugs or really make any improvements.     this game sucks. Animations, tackling, etc, the "roboqb is back"; Blake Bortles can go 24-25 against a top tier defense. EA is a joke and Madden is a joke. Madden truly haven't been good since '08. Honestly save your money and buy NBA2K.

    Bad, bad game. Games fee scripted. If you go near a SS who is a star underneath him you will fumble the ball even if you cover it up. Joey Bosa will always get 5 sacks a game even if you double team him. I’ve played madden since 2003 and this is the worst one yet. Do not pay money for this game. We cannot allowing EA to keep making **** games.

The game doesn’t call touchdowns because it gets stuck in animations. It never saved the progress and it’s the most frustrating thing ever. I have a scrambling QB whose speed is on 99 yet the linebackers are waaaay faster than my QB and tackle him always immediately when they are in pursuit of me scrambling outside the pocket. I loved madden but I uninstalled this garbage. Idk how IGN keeps giving this game an 8/10 year after year smh… Expand

    This game has some of the worst Animations I've seen a sports game. It ruins the emergion when you're playing and players can't be tackled. I can't recommend any buy this game because of poor gameplay and lack of meaningful and depth game modes

    Same game as last few years I wish they would put efforts like the 2l franchise. Focus on what players want, customization, new game modes, realism. This year was disappointing idk how they keep doing it.

    I loved Madden so much for so long, since they can't make a game with any depth, I went ahead and bought an xbox original and PS2 so I can play games that are fun and make sense. Games that were made to seem like they actually cared about the players, not the same thing with the same problems year after year.

    How so little effort can be put into improving a game is astounding. EA cashes in year after year on people who have never had the chance to see what a real football game could look like. Madden was best in '08 when they made it immersive. Thanks for the garbage, EA. It sure is in the game.

    Physics are a total mess. For every cool looking play you get 4/5 bizarre looking ones. The game is fun vs friends, but much less so vs the CPU. Madden 20 has a lot of psuedo difficulty....meaning you'll miss open wideouts randomly for no reason, your wrs will drop easy balla, & on face of the franchise your kicker will miss a tonal of field goals.     Same broken plays, same broken game. I’ve lost 4 games of online play to things uncontrollable to human stick skills or even things possible in a working game. Audible glitches, offensive line play is so bad my linemen turn around and stare at my qb getting chased. This game is laughable. In 27 days I free to play grind an 83 overall team with an 85 defense. People glitch the same plays, same players. It’s not even football. I get in to grind challenges I cheese to win, then build a team that can’t win vs any money spent or really in general because the fumbles and game is so broken. So yeah, never ever reviewed a game, this is my first. Please do not buy this and please do not spend money on mut. It’s not worth it whatsoever. Go play ANY other game that will actually bring you enjoyment. Don’t break controllers or get frustrated you could have a stroke just because your player freezes halfway through the turf and the other team easily walks it past them. Just go buy another game. Any other game. Not this one. I haven’t even mentioned the degraded and inexplicably terrible franchise mode they have. It’s even more of a joke. For any real football fan that plays madden, I feel you. But it **** sucks and you know it. It’s not representative of what happens on sundays. EA Sports, it’s definitely not in the game.… Expand

    Alot of people who rate Madden bad either dont play it or haven't played it in years. True is not a perfect game, it does have some issues, but its a fun game. I understand some people frustrations but this game isn't that bad to where it rates a 0 from people.

    Many overpowered Players like Hopkins Ort Donald, Kick Return often results in a TD through glitches, sometimes you cant tackle receivers, juke moves are too overpowered

    So sick of EA's microtransactions, I think I'm done with AAA games and enjoy indie games more. So glad they are bringing College football back in a few weeks.

    -I think you could create a fan as well
    -Offline fantasy draft
    -Chris Berman half time show (rumbling bumbling stumbling his way into the end zone)
    -Different game day announcers

    I could go on forever.

    Its obvious that they are pushing you towards their crappy MUT mode to spend more money. This game has regressed and anyone that says otherwise clearly never played older Madden games. At this point, you're paying $60 for a roster update. EA needs to lose the license so someone who gives a damn can make an actual football game.    … Expand

The gameplay is slightly improved from 19, but(Tl;Dr at the bottom) Where to start. Still can just run cross-routes and inside zone the entire game with no problems. This game is terrible. EA does not care about us. A prime example is shown by the fact that on the practice field, it still has a banner that still says “Madden 19” on it, even after a couple patches. On top of this, when called out, they had to ASK what field it is, despite the practice field being the only field in the game that does not have full stands (which you can clearly see). It’s absolutely embarrassing. Stick to the 2k football games, Madden 10-12, or anything from the 360/ps2 days. Absolutely not worth your time or money. Horrific game considering the scale of the company creating it, hardly worth considering a triple-A title. Tl;Dr: Horrific video game, it’s depressing that we still have games from 15+ years ago significantly better than today’s game. Do not buy this game or any Madden until EA gets their **** together. We will not get a better game until people stop feeding into this. You’re better off anyways.… Expand

    Madden NFL 20 is still one of the best videogames if you want to simulate any sport but it's very clear that it needs more: more graphics, more gameplay changes, more news in its modes... X-Factor is a good new, but still insufficient to sense that gameplay is different that last year's edition.

    Madden NFL 20 takes a step in the right direction and I really enjoyed the X-Factor additions to the series. While I still think some form of competition would force EA to make more drastic changes, I’m not optimistic with any developers taking a spin with the football genre (maybe the XFL?). If you haven’t caught the pigskin for a few seasons, Madden NFL 20 is the right route to run for this year. With the new consoles coming (most likely) next holiday, I’m looking forward to seeing what EA builds upon from Madden NFL 20 and brings over to next gen. For now I’ll enjoy taking the Broncos to the Super Bowl, while beating up the cover pretty boy, Mahomes (not bitter at all).
