Phenomenal story. A killer cast of new and returning characters. Incredibly fun gameplay. The first Judgment has been my favorite RGG title for 2 years, even after playing through the entire Yakuza series. Lost Judgment surpasses it.

What an incredible game, with a fantastic story and a well developed gameplay, it is even better than its predecessor (judgement) and polishes all of its major defects. Recommended 9/10!

    Lost Judgement
    A Great Drama
Lost Judgement is a 21 hour long action narrative detective adventure.. theres a lot here.. I’ve never played any of the Yakuza games or the previous judgement game and I was just fine hopping in here with Lost Judgement as it is a self contained story, Here you play as detective Takayuki Yagami, the game starts with a man being arrested for groping a woman

I’ve never played any of the Yakuza games or the previous judgement game and I was just fine hopping in here with Lost Judgement as it is a self contained story, Here you play as detective Takayuki Yagami, the game starts with a man being arrested for groping a woman at a train station, all while you’ve been hired to infiltrate a highschool to stop bullying.. a teacher from this school was murdered, and eventually all things get entertwined, a murder, sexual assult, bullying.. and you have to untie and connect all of the loose threads…
The game tackles a serious subject of suicide and bullying all while managing to not take itself so seriously at the same time… youll be handing it to these snot nosed bullies multiple times throughout the day, and solving a murder mystery by night, and I was glued to my seat.. at least for the first half of the game.. here youll do a mix of running from point a to be, stealthing past enemies, getting into fights, and scoping out areas for clues to to progress the story.. and every once in a while get into a chase or teach a dance class… theres a great amount of variety here to keep you enteretained not to menton the horus upon hrs of side missions to really flesh this world out.. but ultimately Lost Judement went on far too long.. I loved the story, all of the twistand turns.. but by hours 12 or so, I was just ready for them to get on with it… stop sending me on this wild goose chase and just end this already… None of the new information was compelling and even if it were, this new info would be stretch out across hours leading me to just be over it before even more new info came in to be stretched out another 2-3 hours.. this story could’ve easily been trimmed down towards the end..
But overall Lost Judgement offers a compelling murder mystery worth sitting down with for a week..
One that’s simple and accessible enough to feel like a tv series you sit down with for a few hours a night..
The pacing gameplay wise is amazing, and if you love your self some crime dramas pick this one up..
    I give Losst Judgement
    an 8/10

I've played all the Yakuza games and consider myself a fan, this one is not as good as the first Judgment or Like a Dragon, the story really comes unglued in the middle and I like the idea of the long side stories in the school but they take forever and there are too many unvoiced dialogues
The worst part is that the towns are stripped down versions of what they were in Judgement and Like

I still don't like the English dub of the main character which is a shame because everyone else is pretty good
The positives are that it looks pretty good and the story is strong for the first half, the side activities are a mixed bag

I give this game 9/10. The story of the game does not need to be praised and an extremely informative topic has been chosen for the story of the game, which has a complex and informative narrative. The soundtrack of the game is in line with the game and very, very attractive. The main and secondary characterizations are done perfectly like the previous version. The studio understood the problems of the previous version very well and almost fixed most of them. side-missions were a lot of development and are really interesting and fun and have something to say. I can't fault the gameplay as well as the cutscenes. The name of this title really suits the content of the game. I don't want to make the text longer, I hope we will play version 3 of this game soon. Expand

The game looks like a Yakuza reskin, but that’s not quite true. Lost Judgement is more refined, so to speak: there’s more emphasis on the detective work, and Yagami isn’t so keen to get into fights. Although there’s still plenty of random street thugs for you to beat up. [Issue#256, p.36]

Lost Judgment feels like a genuine alternative to the Yakuza games of yore, albeit one that’s still reluctant to leave its comfort zone.

While I enjoyed the experience of Lost Judgment overall, I finished the game with a lot of nagging feelings. The game was definitely rushed in some areas, and some more tender love and care were definitely needed in terms of refining the newer gameplay elements. It’s clear that Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio had a lot of new detective elements it wanted to explore, it’s just a shame most of them don’t work without either killing the game’s pacing or are just plain boring. The story, however, is very powerful and has a lot of presence, but makes some uncomfortable missteps. The combat is fast and frantic but can be glitchy at times. Everything points to this game being rushed, and it definitely shows in so many areas. Lost Judgment is a great game plagued by lots of little mistakes that sadly are too much to ignore. While it’s not as strong as the first installment, it’s worth playing to see how Yagami’s story comes to an end.
