Loop8: Summer of Gods has A LOT of dialogue. If you don't know English to make the choices, stay away, as there are much more conversations than actual combat moments. Despite this, the game is interesting and shows us a facet of the Japanese people that we are not used to seeing around here. Loop8 isn’t able to present a coherent whole – underwhelming writing, overly simple mechanics, and an annoying loop mechanic simply don’t mix. [Issue#29, p.94]

Loop8: Summer of Gods aspires to capture the human experience through a multitude of ambitious subsystems. Unfortunately, virtually none of these ideas make a meaningful impact on the game. The end result is a shallow, disjointed, and undeveloped experience. Rather than reflecting the nuances of our everyday lives, Loop8 most closely resembles the lives of aquarium fish.

Loop8: Summer of Gods offers an intriguing premise with a wide cast of characters and strong social component but lacks to offer more variety in its gameplay, which results in a constant feeling of repetition.
