    I'll keep it short...

Story sucks like usual and is like 4-5 hours long
New characters are not used very much in the story
    Bugs and glitches (Patch coming)

The creator is still great and way better than the creator in LBP2.

Do not buy the game if your sole purpose is to play the story mode.

The creator is awesome but the story is lacking and we do not get to use the new characters very often in the story.. They make sure that Sackboy stay number 1

Game is on par with LBP2 but with a better creator.. 9.5/10

LBP 3 must the most disappointing game in the series (unless you count LBP Karting, which is even worse). It's not bad, it's just underwhelming. The fact it launched with tons of bugs and glitches didn't help with reviews, but these have since been fixed.

The Adventure mode is the shortest and by far the most boring out of the 3 LBP games I have played (the others being LBP 2 and LBP Vita). Other than that, everything else is exactly the same as previous games, because the series hasn't progressed much since LBP 2. There is the usual 4 player co-op (both online and offline), there are some gadgets, there is the usual nonsensical story and some cute art style, but nothing new. The new characters could have refreshed the stagnating series' core gameplay, but sadly they are little more than a cameo.

Aside from that, there are more and better tools than ever to build whatever you want in Creation mode and better tutorials to understand how it works. You can make anything ranging from a simple platforming level and an basic arcade game, to whole cut-scenes/movies and even entire games like RPGs. It's essentially a suite to create games for those who are patient and skilled enough. The LBP community have created some amazing things you have to check out. You can also import levels built on previous games, so you have instant access to pretty much all of the user-generated content since the first LBP game.

LBP 3 is still a good platform game to play either solo or with friends, but fans of the series won't find much to excite them. It's a pity LBP has hit a wall, there may not be another new LBP game, and original developers Media Molecule are now working on Dreams. Let's hope for the better.

I finished the “main story” game, and I played a fair number of community levels and still feel there is a lot to discover in this game.

I do think this LBP is a lot like the other LBPs, which isn’t bad in itself, although you won’t find a lot of new, super-exciting stuff in my opinion. Having said that, this game still excels at what is supposed to be good at, as a level editor.

Gameplay is very similar to the other ones; this is a platform game with a lot of puzzle-like kind of things. The “main campaign”, it is good fun and it serves its purpose as a kind of tutorial of the kind of things you can do in LBP, plus you need to do it to unlock a lot of stuff to then build your own levels. There are quite a few multiplayer cooperative levels, which are absolutely fantastic fun, downside is that you’ll need people to play them as, literally you cannot do it on your own. Also worth mentioning is that, if you’re after unlocking all the bits and pieces, you’ll also need to find other players, as some of the secret areas can only be accessed if you got help from another sack boy. If you have some regular friends to play, then the better, but the game itself has a “party finder” tool that works reasonably well.

As in the other LBPs, the “main campaign” only scratches the surface of the game. There are some absolutely fantastic and fun levels out there that have been made by other players. You can find very different focuses, from platform classic levels, to puzzle focused levels to super-fast, frenetic levels. There is a level for everybody here. Even if you don’t like creating your own levels, I think just playing other people’s levels is fantastic. Other people’s levels are rated by the community, so it is easy enough to avoid playing those that are bad because you’ll basically see bad reviews/low scores. I don’t think the community is very toxic in this game as I found the reviews usually correlate with reality. In practice, this game is in essence infinite, you’ll play it until you get bored, because there are just thousands of levels, so in terms of duration, I believe you can stay with this game for a lot of hours.

Graphics are decent for this kind of game, no complaints in there. Music, as usual (in my opinion) in LBPs is fantastic. Some really nice songs in there.

Bad things, multiplayer felt a bit laggy at times, not a lot of times but more than average. Also, I think this game has unfortunately been cut into pieces (DLC pieces) a bit too much. There a lot of extra things you can buy with real money, that hinders a bit the creativity when it comes to level creation; don’t get me wrong, the default stuff is numerous and very nice, but there are a lot of things locked in dlcs. If you liked the other LBPs, this is a safe choice I think, if you like platform games, there is a good chance you’ll like this one. I do believe, however, is a lot more enjoyable if you’re open to multiplayer, so if you’re looking to solo a platform game, you might wanna look elsewhere.

A lot of level gliches(something will not work and you need to restart).
Not responsive control(often jump or rocket jump is not working).
Really bad camera when playing 2nd half of game levels in local co-op, you kill each other by too big distance(single jump or tube make such distance).
Terrible respawn mechanism (your mate is dead, you go forward to continue but in corner you see respawn point, then your mate respawn, camera focus on him and you die) There should be button that you hold to trigger respawn.
At end game try to be longer by just not giving you respawn points that results with glichy levels a lot of tries.
Game is short! really too short - 65 euro for so short game?
While game is short I had to buy extra strory that cost me 7 euro and it took us 3h to complete... lol.
Game can crash during loading(in 3 days few crashes, only crashes I had since I bought ps4).
Face/mood mechnism and R2/L2 hand control is also not used at all. Do you remember Oddworld fart-hello-sing minigames? With those faces/hands this should be somehow used in this game like in oddworld.. but well faces/hands are useless.
This game looks half completed and overpriced. I guess someone pushed devs to complete while first half is nice designed(first robot fight was for me WOW, cool game) and 2nd is really poor quality. Local co-op was also pretty skipped in testing.
Hope some big patch will be released to fix at least control and respawn problems. Too bad game is so short and every another short story try to get your money.

Maybe it was because nothing seemed new/groundbreaking, or the addition of voice acting (which I definitely don't like), but something was definitely not right.

My biggest complaint is the difficulty. With the addition of the new characters there's tons more ways to fail and die while trying to finish the adventure. I basically have given up on the Great Escape level because I wanted to snap my controller in half. This LBP reminds me a lot of the LEGO Games (collecting, multiple characters with unique abilities) and so I wish they would get rid of the "you die you have to restart the level."

The game itself is good, but lacks too much differentiation from its previous iterations. Fortunately, I've only run into a few bugs. LBP3 has joy to be found, but doesn't differentiate itself enough to stand out. Media Molecule didn't work on this, and it shows.

There are a few bugs plaguing the game but there is nothing really game breaking. Many times, we ran into an error when we tried to pull up another profile saved on the PS4 when another player joined the game. This required me to delete the profile several times. It was incredibly frustrating to lose all the collected outfits and stickers associated with the profile.

The story mode is creative and fun but it is pretty short. There is definitely enough to keep it interested and the environment and levels look beautiful. As good as the levels look, not all of them are completely fun or amazing. There are a few areas in the game that require teamwork to access and those are pretty rewarding moments. However, there are other parts of the game that actually seem harder with more people since you share lives.

The new characters are fun to play with but others may not like them all. And since you spend most of the story mode unlocking them, it seems like the story ends much too soon. Creating levels and created levels is what gives this game the most life. I myself am not the creative type but I do find some of the levels other people created to be incredible fun.

A great game overall, although some others disagree I feel this is a fresh new addition to the series. What I love the most about this is just like the other playing together can add a whole new layer to the experience, what I also love is the fact that all previous game content I have carries over, this adds a charm to the game like pretty much no other game, at least for the console.

In my opinion, i dont like these 'Deals' MM Do. They´re probably my favorite team, because they can keep everything under control with their games, and bugs are not the biggest problem in their games normally at launch, but this one, seemed to be a little more buggy than usual at launch.
This game feels a lot more charming than the others, then it comes to story, cause it has more characters, funny challenges, and many small bonus-levels, and many of the "Come Back!" Moments (when you haven´t unlocked the tool to achieve the bubbles you want). As people (for some reason is arguing about), is that the story isn´t what you should buy the game for. Of course it´s not, and it´s never been. But to be honest, i´d like the history, and the feel of the game.
LittleBigPlanet 2 May´ve got the biggest update/upgrade of LittleBigPlanet, but i think, that this one has given a lot more, of what people wanted. Such as 16 Layers, (Ass)-O-Meter doesn´t really bother you anymore, if you know how to avoid getting a full Thermometer in LBP3.
    SUM UP/Final Verdict:
The game needs to clean the windscreen for bugs, that they´re working on, and then just listen to the community, and make LittleBigPlanet 3 More immersive than it already is.
I´ll definitely recommend buying this game, because it´s not disappointing in any way, and may be the biggest LittleBigPlanet Game ever made. Just remember beginners, that LittleBigPlanet, will make you smile.

Though many say they're a lot of bugs, I rarely ran into them but my main problem is the crashing. Another flaw is you very rarely get to play as the three other heroes in the story. Heck, after unlocking them, you get to play one level as them, then a boss battle, then on to the next area where you revert back to Sackboy then do the same thing. The only time were you use all four characters at once are in the final boss battle. This is upsetting to me especially because back at E3 2014 they hyped of using all four characters in with multiple friends which is never in the story mode. My overall score is eight out of ten.

I really enjoyed LBP3. As someone who is fond of the first game and pretty much skipped the second it was nice to dive back into the world. Everything is backwards compatible and they've added a heap of new quirky gameplay mechanics. Really good game. Some kids might find it hard to play, especially the later levels.

This game looks great. The charm of the lbp universe has really benefited from the upgrade in the graphics, all the textures and graphics look great on the PS4. The adventure mode on this game is far better than any before ranging from new hub like levels to the old familiar platforming levels which we all love. However multiplayer is where lbp 3's gameplay has always shined. Millions of levels that have been created by users are at your fingertips to play and enjoy with many styles of gameplay. The create mode is great. It has always been great and always will however i would have given this a 10 if they had added more new tools to your roster. The difference from lbp 1 to lbp 2 was massive but it does not feel that they have made as big of an effort. The 16 layers is amazing adds a whole new depth to the game but i would have like to have seen more. 9/10 would definitely recommend.

I've gotten a few hours in and have only seen one minor bug, otherwise it has all been smoother than any LBP experience I've had. Yes, it stinks that you can't play the new characters quite as freely as many people initially hoped, but even without any new characters the core game would still be the best in the series in my eyes.

Also, basing your entire review/impression on a few remaining bugs seems silly in the long run, as they have already fixed the majority and will continue to clean up the rest in the near future. I agree that it is frustrating that they shipped a product that has any noteworthy issues, but give it a week or two and it will seem ridiculous that so many negative comments were based around issues that no longer exist. The core product is no question the best yet.

But then I realized how many LBP3 user created levels there already are. Right now they have about 10 levels that are of the same quality of the actual game that I know of, and I've only looked at levels for about 30 minutes. Daily they have more and more.

I've seen levels that replicated The Last of Us Remastered and those levels looks JUST as good. I was blown away with the lighting effects, the rain and reflections.

The main reason why I'm 28 years old and totally in love with this game is just that it makes me feel like a kid on christmas day while playing it.

The music .. seriously the best ever in the series. One level that stands has a wacky Rock & Roll theme which features licensed 50's music. You'll be blown away both visually and audibly. Between the new characters, top down view, 16 layer 3D depth topped with a monster load of new creativity tools and other features (you'd need a book the size of War and Peace to list), you're going to be exploring for a long time to come.

I haven't even touched the amazing community levels yet as I want to first collect as many goods from the game as possible. Those who are racing through the campaign just to the to the end are missing out (or just not the creative type), which is why your goal will be a short one in comparison. It's understandable though, as some people just prefer playing rather than building. LBP2 was the only game I played the most on PS3, and LBP3 is the main reason I purchased my PS4 which has now has been completely justified! You guys/gals at Sumo Digital are frigging magicians! When LBP1 came out, I found that it's greatest shortcoming was the difficulty a player would have switching between layers. It was often clunky and resulted in characters getting stuck behind the scenery. With LBP3, they've made transitioning much smoother and easier to do, so this is much less of an issue and sackboy/girl actually behaves the way you want them to.

I haven't delved too deep into the creation tools but from what I have seen, they have greatly streamlined the experience. Level creation is easier than it was previously, What's more, you cna upload levels made in LBP1 or 2 and play / share them in 3, so there's virtually no end to the content you'll get out of this title.

Soundtrack is, as usual, great. Better than in LBP2 for sure, with a return to more indie rock and alternative music that blends very well with the overall experience while still standing out in a good way.

If you liked LBP1 or 2, you should get 3. This is Little Big Planet on steroids, with more level options, a better structured story mode, fantastic creation tools, and all the charm you've come to expect from the series.

As always the emphasis is on creation, player imagination, and good wholesome fun. The series bright, colorful looks are just as inviting as ever. The game's strength still lies in it's player created levels. The strong building tools you are given can allow you to make just about whatever you want. The option to share your creations and experience the work of others is just as great as ever.

However, unlike the previous LBP, the creation is really all the game has going for it. While that's more than enough to ensure that the game has a long lifespan, it's missing all the other stuff that made LBP 2 so incredibly enjoyable. There's a cool new mode that introduces you to the game's building mechanics through puzzle like levels, but ultimately it doesn't last very long. The biggest disappointment comes from the Adventure mode.

With things like new playable characters, a larger emphasis on storytelling, cool items, and new approaches to level design, one would think this would be the best adventure yet. Unfortunately the storytelling falls flat. I stopped paying attention almost immediately and the humor is strangely missing. The actual gameplay is fine, but it isn't long before things start to get on your nerves, especially with the late game difficultly spikes. It's only a few hours, but still managed to overstay it's welcome. By the time the credits rolled I was more than happy to be done with it's quest.

The return of the creation tools is the reason you should give LBP 3 a chance. There are plenty of new options and the game still serves as a great way to show of your creativity and imagination. If you can stomach the adventure mode, there's a lot of things to do thanks to the introduction of side-quests and the plethora of collectibles hidden throughout. It's got some nice, expanded co-op options that could prove very enticing for you and a friend. Yet, even with all of that there is still something incredibly disappointing with LBP 3. It's just not as charming as it's predecessor. Something that's probably due to the change in developers. It's not like Sumo Digital made a bad game. It's just that you can tell it's missing the Media Molecule touch.

Nonetheless LBP3 is still at the very least a decent game. One packed with content and some stunning tools that allow for seemingly endless possibility. It still allows you to flex your creative muscles and share your ideas with the world, all the while seeing what others are up to as well. If that sort of thing is up your alley, then this is the game for you. However, if you're just looking for a fun platformer game then this may not be for you. It's single-player offerings aren't among the more satisfying options out there.

What a disappointment. The game is dull, uninspired and frankly kind of broken. I lost count of how many times I had to restart it as the load screen just would not finish. Without mentioning corrupted save files and the sort. And it amazes me that even so many months after its release the game was not fixed. It's like they don't care.

Another huge mistake, in my opinion, was making the game more vertical than horizontal (a trademark of the series). The game became unnecessarily "complex" to explore, with sidequests and a few gimmicks to make it different (and longer). Nobody wanted that! Just give us a handful of GORGEOUS, 2D SIDE SCROLLING LEVELS. Is that too much to ask?

I gave up on the game. I don't have too much time to play anymore, so I really need to enjoy myself and have fun with a game I decide to purchase. I fear the franchise dies here, folks. And that is just sad.

Bugs are getting ironed out so the initial backlash should subside, and hopefully the community will continue to grow as times goes on. This game will go only as far as people will push it, because it's their levels that keeps this game's coop and multiplayer active.

Story-mode is short as usual, but I'm into this series for the level design kits and to enjoy other people's creations. If you are a platforming nut like I am and yearn for this type of gameplay that has been put on the back shelf of developers, then pick up this game. The possibilities are endless.

The campaign is not the best. However, since this is Little Big Planet, it doesn't matter. It's pure fun for me and my friend when we play ridiculous community levels. It's just good, clean fun. The graphics are good, and the bugs were patched. One gripe is that the soundtrack isn't memorable. That's it. It's fun.

Brilliant game.. Though there may be numerous bugs, they certainly aren't game breaking (for the most part at least). The main villain, newton, is full of personality and character, which is great, and if you're on the fence about this game, BUY IT. It's great.

The game is much, MUCH shorter than 1 or 2, with only three main hub worlds with three missions in two and two in the final one, plus the final mission, with some sidequests in between. I pushed through the whole thing in 2-3 hours at most. The new characters are the USP of the game, with three different characters to choose from, each with their own abilities and traits. However, just like the new gadgets the game introduces in a gadget wheel, they all just amount to gimmicks, with nothing really big to do with them, save for the final boss fight.

The level design, although fairly balanced, isn't nearly as good as anything in LBP1 or 2. They're also much shorter and generally less fun to play around in. The musical score isn't as lively and energetic as it was, and the game as a whole just feels less... fun. Which is the entire point of this series.

The multiplayer is also broken. Connection issues are the worst they've ever been, and connecting online outright doesn't work most of the time, requiring you to go back to the XMB and restart the entire game just to cancel it trying to connect. The Dive In function in PS4 does not work. It actually is broken. You press the button and nothing happens, so that's cool.

So overall, the game's single player is dumb, and its multiplayer is nearly non-functional, so this game is hardly a game at all. It's amazing how they skimped on the single player so they could get away with having the community make the game for them and they failed at even that.

Handing over this game to a different developer definitely hurt the game more than it helped it. For a game supposedly about imagination, the game seems to offer very little of it.

But the flaws in this game are more excusable, considering it was a newer team working on it, it had 16 layers to work with, and it was also on PS3, so they had two systems to work on. Overall, while I actually would've liked it better if they had just stuck to the PS4 version, and make completely 3D levels, it's still a great game. Expand

That's not even mentioning the broken community UI, the missing DLC on the PS4 version, and the general lack of improvement from LBP2 or V. The new characters have abilities that already were possible in LBP2 and there already was access to extra glitched layers. It's not to say that these aren't welcome additions, they just are not massive changes in a series that is starting to stagnate.

The story contains fun levels (if much less cohesive and polished than its predecessors) and the community will assuredly make awesome things, but until the developers patch the modicum of bugs I wouldn't recommend this installment.

Patches have done a good job of improving the game, but it still isn't perfect. Up to an 8/10 from my previous score of 3.

How can it become a 10/10? Sumo needs to fix the crashes, the profile corruptions, and the laggy multiplayer servers. If those are at least improved some, the game will be incredible.

I played two previous games with my friends and it was pure coop fun. However, this one feels fake. Everything is undercooked:
    - Loading times are ridiculuos
    - As a number of tutorial screens even in the world view
    - The gameplay is interrupted every minute with a video tutorial of sorts
    - The levels themselves feel generic

I stopped playing at 30%. This game has no more soul.

The gameplay is typical LBP, with precise jumping required alongside a half-intelligent brain to work out where to go. The usual modes are back, and side missions such as creating a vehicle to jump further than 2,000 metres are fun. The story mode characters are all voice acted now (sack people aside, who are still mute – this adds to their "cute" charm though) and the levels and characters look fantastic.

Ultimately a slightly longer story would make this a great game, as it stands it is still good though.

For this third installment it is no longer Media Molecule behind the sackboys so did Sumo Digital managed to make a wonderful game like two previous episodes ?

Technically it is disappointing for an exclusivity, you can clearly feel the weight of the PS3 version, the artistic direction is very cute (like always in LittleBigPlanet) but it could have been better detailed, with more effects (collision, dust, etc.). The server are not the strongest and you can be disconnected pretty often if you play a lot. Clearly not the technical level you could expect from an AAA game backed by Sony.

Concerning the gameplay you will find the three pillars of the game : play, create and share. The play part is upgraded with three new characters, each with their own attributes, it's a good idea, sadly they didn't make a great use of them in the campaign. Which makes for the perfect transition with the "share" pillar, the community of the game is still great, some levels created by regular players are simply amazing and you can find some levels created specifically for those new characters, all the levels from the two previous games are also playable so there is really a lot of awesome content available for the community and brought by this same community. Finally the creating tool is very easy to manage and offers a lot of possibilities.

The story is classic for a 2D platformer, the young ones will probably like it while the older players will be more fond of the characters and the funny dialogues. But the campaign is also pretty short (6 hours to finish it) even if you have to replay all the levels if you want the 100%, but like I said the content from the community is almost endless so you can end up playing the game for more than 50 hours easily.

So in conclusion LittleBigPlanet 3 is a good platformer but it is mostly based on the ground work made by Media Molecule and to its community, Sumo Digital didn't upgrade it enough to make this third installment as great as the two previous one.

    Near Endless possibilities
Newton wants to become the most creative person in the imagishpere and its up to you to stop him, so you set out to awaken the legendary sack heroes…
This is my 2nd favorite littlebigplanet campaign behind the original..
And of course you can play with friends or alone
The campaign clocks in at around 5 and half hours and not only offers a decent challenge... but a great variety in level design that’s fun to play through and sparks the imagination for those interested in designing levels for the community…
Each world acts as a hub world with 2-3 main missions and a few side missions
In the main missions you’re going through unique and charming levels to collect a marble..
These levels all feel different and each world introduces a new gadget to use...
which give even more possibility to level design…
You do occasionally have to reuse these items in later levels of the game... but I really appreciate the fact that they didn’t shove them all down your throat to use at once...
There’s no constant switching items which I find insanely annoying when games do that…
You’ll primarily be using 1 gadget and 1 gadget only in each level..
These levels also of course contain prize bubbles which adds variety to the creation tool giving creators incentive to play through the campaign other than to get ideas for all of the cool new hazards…
Sadly I feel the customization items for your characters are a bit lacking.. Tons of costumes... but very few accessories and other items to make you feel truly unique...
However if you have played through little big planet 1 or 2, you get to import your unlockable from them
once you’ve gathered both marbles or all 3 you unlock one of the 3 legendary heroes…
There’s Oddscock, Toggle, and Swoop… all of which are even more fun to use than sackboy…
Oddscok is a dog like creature that can run up walls and wall jump…
Toggle is the brute that can toggle between large to weigh platforms down or break items and to a smaller version to get launched into the air, walk on water and fit into small cracks... a character who I believe had the most promise in terms of level design… and swoop is a bird that can fly and swoop…
Sadly each of these characters only have 1 dedicated level each..
They’re so fun to play as that I actually wouldn’t have mind if sackboy got a bit of a break and most of the levels belonged to them…
But not completely focus on the new 3 because sackboy is still the star...
Each world also ends in a boss battle… and the final 2 levels are dedicated to all 4 characters which are easily the more stressful parts in the game…
especially considering the checkpoint limits where when you die too many times in one spot you’re punished by having to restart the entire level..
I’ve never been a fan of this concept and I’m still not…
and it definitely sucks when you have to go through these lengthy sections as each of the characters...
mess up with one and you have to do the others you succeeded in all over again…
And the checkpoints here are a little too generous at times in spots they don’t need to be while smacking you with very hard stretches that have no checkpoint in sight…
Making levels feel a little unbalanced at times...
The 2nd chunk of the game comes down to if you like playing levels or if you want to get your hands dirty and design them…
There’s an online mode that lets you play countless levels designed by the community and for those looking to design those levels..
Your only limitations are your imagination and your hard drive...
and of course the 16 layers max for your levels constraint... but you can go wild with everything else as you’re able to link levels and create adventure maps
You can design with any of the characters in mind that again play and feel completely different… it really is a great playground for the creative type.
And littlbigplanet 3 also does a great job at teaching mechanics by delivering tools and their functions in a puzzle mode...
so while you’re getting through these puzzle levels with the tools you’re also learning how to use them in creative mode without realizing it…
Littlebigplanet 3 is a huge improvement that offers a great deal of possibility in level design and gameplay... The campaign feels standalone again and the community creations here are the most impressive yet... so if a 5 and a half hour campaign isn’t long enough to you, head online and enjoy the community levels...
There’s something here for everyone and is a staple that should be in everyone PlayStation 4 collection…
    I give LittleBigPlanet 3
    an 8/10

Not everything is good here, campaign is a little bit short if you don't complete side quest and the new characters only have a couple of playable levels on this mode,a wasted opportunity for me.

But the mayor problem there is that conecction is not so good while playing online, something unforgibable in a game like this.
