    A trama é interessante, o que acabou não me prendendo tanto foi o enredo adolescente saturado pela Netflix, de resto é legal. O jogo é subjetivo para cada um, a experiência única é o ponto mais forte do jogo, em geral os personagens são bem construídos dependendo da sua perspectiva e o final é interessante e parece complementar a história do primeiro. Para quem for platinar, a dificuldade é 2/10, basta ir pegando os colecionáveis em cada capítulo para platinar em uma jogada, mas se quiser zerar o jogo sem se preocupar com isso, é só voltar nos capítulos após terminar.… Expand

    I love it when a game can take characters and make them feel like humans. Relatable, emotional and talk like theyre alive.

    I only had one problem, the ending of the game.
    It didn't live up to the hype and tension they were building in the previous episodes.
    It felt really simple and predictable and wasn't really that emotional probably because of the dialouge.
    But overall a wonderful game and it's worth playing a second time to see the other outcomes and choices.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. If you can live with consistency errors and care for an emotional journey, then Life is Strange is perfect for you.

    As a cinematic movie/interactive movie game alá Heavy Rain, Beyond Two Souls, Fahrenheit, et cetera Life is Strange does not have too much gameplay behind it. But for me personally it is just enough. The bit that you can do helps you getting emotionally invested in the life of Max Caulfield who really does care the most about her relationship with her best friend. While exploring this relationship it truly shows what kind of a person Max is, what she would go through, what she can and cannot accept and with a really beautiful, relaxing soundtrack and artstyle it is one of a kind.

    Contra: Life is Strange does not know what it wants to be. It starts of acting like it deals with the Grandfather Consistency Paradox (Overwriting Reality to make place for another one) and then mid-story swaps out for the Multiversal Alternate Timeline Explanation. But it does never actually explain "oh, yes, it is that way instead", it just treats it like that and not even consistently because it stil talks about "changing time" once in a while and that is a mis-use of the word in this context normally. Also, while a consistency paradox has its problems as you cannot overwrite the reality you come from (yes, not even turn around a pebble as it still is another reality) keeping this version of time manipulation would have been better for the story because narration-wise alternate timelines are pretty inconsequential for the point the story is so often trying to make. Nevertheless I have played through Life is Strange very often and I really can say this is a game people should at east have played once.    … Expand

    For some reason, even though that's my second playthrough, I can stop being emotionally damaged by this game. Actually, knowing some stuff about certain characters made some minor decisions harder. The difference they made objectively was not high, but your perception around it is what really matters. That's only possible because of how sensitive the creators were and how amazingly developed and relatable the characters truly are.

    Talking about sensitivity... hands down. That is one of the best soundtracks ever selected. OST included. I could listen to the main theme for hours. This game would not be that good without those tracks.

    But it is perfect? no. But that was the dev's fault? Also no. The graphics and other technical elements could be better. Facial expressions feel off sometimes and clearly characters could not express themselves the way they should. Obviously, that's a financial problem, so it's understandable. And, at least, the actors nail it. Amazing performances.

    This is an excellent story-driven game I like that it lets the viewer test which decision he is comfortable with thru the character's powers, also the added mystery of the game plot makes it a great game to sit back and enjoy as the story unfolds.

    Played the game recently on PS5. This was one of tremendous game I’ve ever played !!

    It was a pretty compelling story. Sure it's just a teen drama with a little bit of sci-fi (?) mixed in, but it does it well. The gameplay is your regular choose your path game, so nothing special there. The characters are what makes or break a game like this. Chloe is a **** but I can understand why. Good game. Another platinum trophy that was fun to get. Easy, but fun.

The entire point of the story is, "hey, you know that hours and hours upon gameplay you just went through? Yeah, you shouldn't have done any of that." There are some great moments throughout the game, but that is all undone at the end when the "right" choice is to undo everything you did, making the entire gameplay meaningless.… Expand

I played it originally 5 years ago, but it really has a lot of replay value once you forget the little details. The thing that makes this game such a masterpiece is the interactions. Every dialogue stacks up with the following, until the final choice. SPOILERS, but to me there's only one true ending. Unlike let's say, last of us, not making the selfish choice really makes sense too, for the characters and it feels so much more meaningful. Like, yeah, I think everyone wants Chloe to live, but what really makes that decision so powerful its the fact that...both make sense in a way. If you're selfish, it feels like you've been protecting Chloe every step, so you can't accept the fact that she has to die. It feels real because even if the moral choice is obvious, what we really care about is our own emotions and the ones we love. That person was always Chloe (check the journal and pay attention to your interactions, sometimes it's very noticeable and others a lot more subtle). The thing is, it's not about a moral choice, it's about a lesson of letting go. Everything started because of that decision. Nature has to continue it's course and maybe even if you save her, it doesn't matter and destruction will follow. The only way it's to accept that moving forward is what the entire game was about. You have to accept that moving on is the only way. And that's a beautiful yet heartbreaking ending to a masterpiece in storytelling. The game is full of tiny details, immersion, music, great characters, a **** of lovable cheesiness. To me Life is Strange is one of the best games ever made. Every decision makes you think.

    I did enjoy the first half of the game, because everything felt fresh, and the story was easy to follow, but the gameplay got more and more repetitive, and in the end I was left with more questions than answers.

    Being recent in Psychology studies, i can see this game as an incredible tool to help surpass feelings of loss and help understand certain "injustices" of life.

Por conta disso várias seções são lentas e desnecessariamente repetitivas. Já nos últimosEu comecei Life is Strange meio descrente que ia ser um bom uso do meu tempo, e até que gostei do que vi. O jogo se apresenta com mecânicas bem simples, a lógica aqui é seguir a história através dos puzzles e tentar fazer as escolhas que te encaminhem para o melhor final possível (ou um dos). Por conta disso várias seções são lentas e desnecessariamente repetitivas. Já nos últimos episódios o jogo entra em uma espiral de tensão que realmente te deixa entusiasmado e animado para terminar a história, ao menos pode se dizer que a escrita é muito bem feita aqui.     My rate for this game is a well deserved 8. First of all this is not a game for everyone. So if you are more into action and shooting games you probably should skip this game but those who enjoy relaxing games or prefer to focus on the plot you should buy it. My main complaint of this game is that voices are not syncrhonized with the lips (and it's a pity because the acting voices are really good). The last episode is a bit over the top but it's still holding fine. And the last thing is that at the end of this game you can choose between two options. I chose the one that in my opinion is the more logical but I think they should have given you the choise to do another thing. Also, I was curious about the other ending and of course I watched it and I still thing it's too positive and optimistic regarding the events that you see (should have been more dramatic. Doesn't feel fair nor balance compared to the other one). Because I didn't want to spoil anything I don't know if you people will be able to get what I mean. It probably took me arount 15 hours or even more because I tried to serach everything. My only advice would be that in the second episode when they tell you that you can't use your powers pause the game and search on the internet what you must say cause trust me, you will fail if you don't do that. Of course you can start over that part of this second episode but I still think it's better to do it as I said.… Expand

    Besonderes Spielelement von Life ist Strange ist zudem die Möglichkeit in jeder Situation die Zeit zurück drehen zu können. Das heißt, wir können gegebene Antworten oder Interaktionen nach dem Ausführen nochmals überdenken und gegebenenfalls wieder rückgängig machen, sollte uns der Ausgang der Aktion nicht gefallen. Der Clou an dieser Mechanik ist, dass Dontnod diese unglaublich geschickt auch mit dem Storytelling verknüpft. Unser "Zeit zurückdrehen" wird nämlich auch zum wesentlichen Moment der Storyentwicklung und kann Reaktionen auslösen, die wir im ersten Moment überhaupt nicht überblicken können. Im Zusammenspiel mit den glaubwürdigen, sympathischen Charakteren und den hervorragend geschriebenen Dialogen, schafft Life is Strange so eine Dramaturgie, der man sich als Spieler nur schwer entziehen kann.

    Life is Strange gehört sicherlich zu den wenigen Kleinoden der Videospielgeschichte, die es wirklich schaffen einen emotional zu berühren. Allein deshalb muss Life is Strange in dieser Liste auftauchen und sei jedem empfohlen, der statt Action auch mal ein gutes, innovatives Storytelling zu schätzen weiß.    … Expand

    The college setting didn't appeal to me at all and the characters couldn't compensate for that either. We have the boring, shy and nerdy Max, the naive yet super annoying rebellious Chloe, and... oh, just complete the list with whatever clichéd students you can think of.     I found the story completely predictable and at the same time not very believable.

    Gameplay is pretty much non-existent, just running around listening to monologues about coffee machines and cameras. If the information about it was at least interesting or funny ... but no.

    The only thing I can praise the game for: Decisions actually have noticeable consequences. However, that goes nowhere if they leave me absolutely cold emotionally because I can't stand the characters and I don't care about them.    … Expand

    As a young girl who is interested in photography, this game made me feel seen, heard and understood. As well, I was able to relate to the game’s themes of LGBTQ+ people, depression, suicide and    Life is Strange is a powerful and emotional game that covers many important topics. These topics range from everyday struggles in modern day youth, to worst case scenarios and complete nightmares.
    As a young girl who is interested in photography, this game made me feel seen, heard and understood.     As for the game itself, Life is Strange contains beautiful background animations, as well as a rather realistic character animation style. As well, there is a beautiful and sad soundtrack that goes along with the storyline well.
    The main character – a photography student named Max Caulfield – is quiet, shy and caring. She reminded me a lot of myself and my personality throughout most of my high school experience.
    If you haven’t played Life is Strange, I will sum it up for you: Max Caulfield is a photography student, studying at Blackwell Academy in Arcadia Bay. She leaves photography class one day and walks into the school bathroom, just in time for her to see her childhood best friend Chloe get shot by another student. Desperately trying to save Chloe’s life, Max suddenly gains a super power that allows her to rewind time. This power is used throughout the game to make important choices, which strongly impact the game’s outcome. Every action has consequences – some much larger than others. The more Max uses her powers, the more things begin to go wrong in Arcadia Bay; there are environmental changes, a solar eclipse and – depending on the player’s choices – a possible deadly hurricane. In the end, Max has to make the ultimate decision: does she save her best friend, or Arcadia Bay?

    I liked the soundtrack, some characters (Max, Chloe, Jefferson) and of course the final chapter. There were some game-breaking bugs, inconsistent voice actors and visual glitches in cutscenes. Not a fan of the edgy characters or the unrealistic melodrama. Overall it's a good game if maybe a little over-hyped.

A bible passage for example helps at a pivotal moment in Max's school life, which you'd never have thought possible when you came across it.

    Honestly the game has more surprises than anything, I once took a random picture and a trophy popped without realising it. It draws you in, and there's enough action or something going on to keep you invested. It's a game that if it was a book, it'd be encouraged reading from teachers. It's something that will make you think, make you feel, and you'll have fun along the way.

    Sure it's not that much different from a visual novel, but with tight camera controls, and a good mix of story and foundation for the little town bracing against an upcoming storm. It does much more than tell a story, or give a cheesy 1980's message. It points out vividly the good, the bad, the indifferent in people, in ourselves and in the characters it portrays. Nobody is a hero even with magical powers. Life just isn't as easily defined. Life is strange.

    I couldn't go into much detail to avoid spoiling it for you. But the game does get dark. really dark in the last couple of chapters. I even expected more of a split at the end when the playstation revealed in a percentage of what other people picked. I stand by the decision i made in my playthrough, even after i saw the other choice.

    A single choice you make, in life, shouldn't just be based on an outcome. It should be about everything that lead to that moment and beyond it; the good and the bad.    … Expand

So when the complete game was available I bought it. I should warn you that this game style like the Telltale games (Walking Dead, Wolf Among Us, Batman etc.) are not for everyone. Some criticize this for being an interactive movie instead of a videogames and it is not a wrong argument per se. However this is preferences and not a weakness of the game. I truly enjoyed the game like many others and we all want a continuation of this games story. The story follows Maxine Caulfield (Just called Max) who returned to her former hometown the small city Arcadia Bay to study photography at the Blackwell Academy. Her family moved to another town 5 years ago and she left a lot of people behind including her best friend Chloe Price. Arcadia Bay has become infamous as student Rachel Amber vanished without trace six months ago which is still a big topic. Max is drawn into the events of the game and the past also caught up to her. Small spoiler warning but it is in the games description even on Metacritic: Max discovers that she can rewind time (in a small amount) with all advantages like retrying and remembering what happened. However it is limited and she cant rewind for long periods. I think it is not even enough to win a lottery but enough for Las Vegas and still immensely useful. End of small spoilers. The story works really well. I was fully invested into the outcomes, characters and progress. It creates immersion and emotions which is the key to good story telling. Also the twists were excellent. Like in other games in this genre your decisions influence the story to some extend. There are different results or outcomes depending what you do, say or decide. It is more than in the Telltale Games as there are some bigger differences. The characters are the next strength of the game. Max is one of my favorite video game characters. She is relatable, smart and kindhearted. Her struggles and journey are amazing. This is also true for Chloe Price who is amazing too. She is equally good, relatable but a bit hardened by life. These two together are amazing and have a great chemistry. The support characters are good too. Kate Marsh and Victoria Chase are well written and genuine. They have depth and you see what they are made of. Also valid for Warren Graham, Nathan Prescot, Joyce Price, David Madsen and Mark Jefferson. The writers and voice actors deliver a truly good result. I saw no missteps and flaws as the experience was always enjoyable, immersive and intense at the right moments. Gameplay wise it is a bit like an interactive movie. There are some riddles or puzzles. I like how they integrated Max skills into this. However it is not a puzzle game and the core aspects are about decisions and creating your path through the story. There will be hard choices and decisions. Like I said there are often multiple outcomes for the events and past decisions can bite you in the back. Graphically I love the art style. The characters look amazing and all emotions are well transferred. I would buy an art book. Overall this was a positive surprise and I want to see more from the character. The game left an impact and I hope Max and Chloe’s story will be continued. An easy recommendation if you like this genre or good characters in an interesting mystery.… Expand

Although it lacks strong gameplay the story, setting, and characters make Life is Strange a perfect game for those who want to just relax and get immersed in a great story.

    A teenagers heaven but an adult story, with it’s dark moments and unexpected endings to a dillemas, this game is actually a memorable journey for me yeah I ignored the cringe teens dialog or moments but enjoyed everything else, the simple interactive gameplay the choices and decistions finally the soundtrack

I can say that this is the only game which has ever made me cry and i love it for it. I can’t wait to play this game again when the remastered collection of it comes out

This game does a lot of justice for those who are obsessed with getting everything on a flowchart. Life is Strange doesn't show your choices on a flowchart, though, but you're able to try out almost anything. I say almost because you can't exactly rewind mid-conversation. Only after an interaction is done. So, if you're someone who wants to see every possible outcome of your actions, this is the game for you. Max even encourages it. After each big choice made, Max encourages the player to REALLY think about their choice. "Aw man, blah blah blah. Should i rewind and blah blah blah?" So get ready to tell Max to be quiet every once in a while lol.
    The graphics are OKAY. Nothing too great. The art style is amazing, though. It's a good thing we're in 2021, because a remastered version is supposed to come out soon. If you get this game in 2021, there are going to be some glitches, but nothing that's too bothering. Sometimes it's actually quite funny. Won't spoil anything, but the game overall is a suprise, whereas the plot has many suprises too. The reason why I say that is because people don't usually suspect anything exciting for this game. I mean, what do you expect from a teenage rebel (not really teenage... the characters are about 18. Which means... college?? O_O) and the shy, nosy student? The game goes way differently than what you'd think.

    I enjoyed this thoroughly as a passive sort of experience, but I didn't mind that there was some level of challenge here and there. I thought the overall gameplay was great. There were a few moments though where I was like 'is it really necessary to have to do this? That's just silly', in regards to some of the puzzle sort of parts of the game.

    Lo que menos me gusto de este juego fueron las expresiones faciales, esta bien, es un juego muy barato en donde las expresiones fueron hechas a mano en una computadora, pero hubiera estado bueno que los personajes tengan mas vida, ya que los movimientos del cuerpo no parecen naturales y sus expresiones pareciera que fueran robots.     As far as story games go, this is pretty average. My biggest problem with the game is how unlikeable the characters are. Luckily Max is tolerable, but pretty much everyone else is obnoxious af. There is virtually no branching story. The reverse time mechanic is kind of interesting, but obviously generic. The story is quite boring most of the time.     Una de los mejores juegos de aventura gráfica que he jugado, el poder rebobinar en el tiempo para cambiar decisiones o situaciones es algo que lo hace original e innovador. La historia es emocionante y muy emotiva, no le he puesto un 10 porque algunas escenas o partes del juego son un poco aburridas pero por lo demás es un gran juego que tiene que probar todo el mundo.

    Beautifully moving story-based cinematic game where choices matter and affect the world around you. Characters stick and leave an impression on you, and the game remains memorable.

    An honest, sometimes even painful, story about friendship and finding yourself. Life is Strange is played with a lump in the throat and its ability to make a grown man tear up is its true "power".

    The Limited Edition of Life is Strange doesn’t introduce anything new. The graphics are the same, as well as individual episodes that form this wonderful adventure. The art book and soundtrack are still a nice plus that could push some collectors to purchase this edition.
