Laser League is a difficult game to describe but it’s basically an online multiplayer game in which players, or teams, run around an arena attempting to activate nodes that project a wall of light of their colour. These walls vary in size and in the way they move and if a player is hit by a wall of the opposite teams colour they're eliminated (although they can be revived by team mates).Laser League is a difficult game to describe but it’s basically an online multiplayer game in which players, or teams, run around an arena attempting to activate nodes that project a wall of light of their colour. The last team standing wins.

Despite that complicated sounding explanation the game is actually pretty simple in practice and it’s easy to pick up the game and get straight into the online action. At first Laser League is a fairly enjoyable experience but even after just an hour or so my interest began to wane. I've seen comparisons being drawn to the hugely successful Rocket League, a game that also first came to the public's attention as a PS+ offering, but whereas Psyonix title gradually revealed hidden depths I feel as though I've already seen everything this game has to offer.

I don't think they'll be many people still playing this in a few months’ time...

Accessible and refined to near perfection, this could be the indie multiplayer game of 2018. [July 2018, p.80]
