A boring, unbalanced and slow videogame. A part from a few, all the voice actors sound like damn robots, the dialogues are horrible and the general pace of the game is too slow.
The combat system, something I hoped would make me like this game a bit is bad.

Before diving to the heart (pun intended) of my review, I think it's worth mentioning that Kingdom Hearts III is not a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, but it's the conclusion of the entire series, including the spin-offs.
Fortunately for newcomers like me, Kingdom Hearts III does re-cap parts of the story from the previous Kingdom Hearts games in different ways, making Kingdom Hearts III's story easier to follow. However, just like in the previous Kingdom Hearts games, Kingdom Hearts III's story is convoluted and the writing is weak for the most part... but I didn't hate it, even though some cutscenes are overly long and the pacing has issues.
The gameplay is great though despite being very easy, and it's extremely diverse; there are so many different things to do, it's actually impressive.
The characters - including the Disney characters - are pretty good too.
The visuals are stunning and the music is really good.
Also, the Disney worlds represented in Kingdom Hearts III are the highlight of the game by far; they're absolutely wonderful!
The new outfits, Keyblades and U.I. changes are cool as well.
Now, I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but honestly, I don't like how some Disney characters are major party members in this game because it ruins the immersion for me; I'd prefer if all of the Disney characters in this game were side-characters in different Disney worlds, but it's not a big deal at all.

    Pros:
    + Intriguing premise
    + Charming characters
    + Exciting gameplay
    + Impressive Disney worlds
    + Gorgeous visuals and music

    Cons:
    - Poor writing
    - Long cutscenes & pacing issues
    - Too easy

Despite its fair amount of flaws, Kingdom Hearts III made me feel like a kid again at times and that's one of the sweetest compliments I can give to a videogame.

    Do I recommend it?:
For newcomers, I'd recommend reading a summary of the stories in the previous Kingdom Hearts games or play Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far before playing Kingdom Hearts III.
Fans of the series must play this game.

To be truth, I love the art style and the characters. But the game is so confusing to play and the mechanics aren't my type of favorite although I do like this series, there were some wrong things that happened in this game that I honestly wished they were much better. But overall 7/10

La música es emotiva con temas clásicos de las películas así como de la saga en sí que enfatizan la acción.

Definitivamente es un juego para toda la familia y que pueden contemplar los niños sin problemas de que vean cosas inapropiadas como suele suceder hoy en día.

It was nice to wander in his fun and colorful world. I went so far as to unlock all the achievements in the game. The combat system was good enough for me. The spaceship controls are weird, but it's over now :) The story is too complicated for me now, but it didn't seem as impressive as the second game. Maybe it's because I'm getting old.

Game with the magic that characterizes the saga. History has reached a point where it makes no sense. For the rest, the game is superfine to play and on a difficult level +. The DLC combats are where the combat really shines and they make it a great game

The biggest problem in my opinion, is the fact that the game is not aware that it's full of uninteresting plot points, boring villains and overly long cutscenes that don't add anything to the story.

On the bright side, I absolutely loved the magnificent worlds you visit throughout the game, they look gorgeous and every single one of them feels unique.

The gameplay is a fairly easy, it doesn't require any strategy but it's enjoyable and there are many abilities you can unlock, making it feel fresh.

And lastly, there are some surprisingly fun mini-games that add some charm to the game.

In the end I was left satisfied, but there is some serious wasted potential here.

    Final Rating: "Good" ~ 7/10.

I think this has the best fighting mechanics of all the games and like being able to change keyblades on the fly. Everything else is fine, but that is kind of my problem. It doesn't feel grander as they remove some feature for others and the stuff they removed I thought was better. The content is not bad, just ok.

How do you remove the colosseum!? That was one of the best parts of the series! And how come there are no Final Fantasy characters? I wanted to see Squall, Cloud, and the others. Also, once you finish a world, there really is no reason to ever go back, unlike in the second game where you were incentivized to see how things have progressed in each world after nearing the end of the game, you don’t have that here. The whole game just feels a bit lacking in comparison to what came before. The stuff that is in KH3 is fine, but I would rather have the coliseum than cooking (which the buffs it provides never really mattered in my hard playthrough).

I do wish the story had more substance and had a bit of a better ending. Don't get me wrong, it is not bad, just not that amazing. The series is already infamous for the most complicated story in video game history. The devs just assume you played all dozen or so games, spent hours online watching story recaps and summaries, and simply look to finish the ending. I just wish the plot for the third game was more coherent and substantial. There are multiple main characters who do nothing but stand around and talk, such as Kairi, Maleficent, and Pete. I really wanted to see Kairi training and fight alongside Sora in the game; we get neither! The whole thing reminds me of the scene in Avengers End Game where the rat saves Ant-Man, It can be fun a game but the writing is just plain sloppy in places.

I enjoyed the combat system and the quality of life mechanics they implemented and it is still fun to play alongside favorite movie characters, even better here now that you don’t have to pick and choose between them and Donald and Goofy, all of them are on screen now which is way better. Adding Pixar was great. In fact, I think the Monsters Inc. level is the best they ever made and wished all the worlds felt like a direct sequel to the movies. At the same time, though, I thought the writing for Rapunzel’s world was the worst in the entire series of games and thought the Frozen world was very boring as well. I really didn't enjoy sitting there and listening to the whole Let it Go song. It would have been fine if it had been like in KH2 where you get to play a mini-game with Aerial, but here you just have to watch.

So, after a decade of waiting for this game was it worth the wait. Eh, I guess. They use pre-woke Disney and Pixar so that is great but do think they fall short of Kingdom Hearts 2. It's a good game and I like most of the content but it felt lacking a bit in all categories.

Great Video Game, very fun and enjoyable to listen to, and has amazing graphics

Update: after playing the whole game series from 1 and portable games; this game is like Arkham Knight where the main story is just the conclusion of it, and in that regard, it's a great game however is not best as i think the second game is the best of the series.

An absolutly fantastic finale to kingdom hearts full of nothing but pay offs for everything the series has done, even pays off the mobile games in a satisfying way. The only major issue is its difficulty and by that I mean the complete lack of it, the game at times is laughably easy.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Kingdom Hearts 3/10, and it would probably have been 2 if I hadn't come up with that opening line. It was, monstrously bad, failing across the board in level design, individual stories, characters, overarching story and gameplay. It was a culmination of all the games up until this point, and the way they did that was by cramming every bad part of the previous games into this one.

KH1, combination Hack'n'slash and JRPG. KH3 is not a JRPG in any way, shape or form. They removed the interesting command deck they'd nearly perfected with Birth by Sleep and Dream Drop Distance, but they kept the barren, too big areas and the rail-grinding and wall-running. No character building, no use for the magic system, no difficulty unless they decide to artificially inflate it with massive HP and attacks that do absurd damage, which has admittedly been a failing of the series since KH1.5 and 2.5 introduced their secret bosses. Bosses like Sephiroth, Reaper and Kurt Zisa were fun, they required thought and strategy and changing around your abilities. Not so with the formula for powerful bosses they've crafted since. I thought they'd kind of gotten the hang of it again after DDD introduced Julius which was a boss that made us use the environment and certain useful commands to our advantage, but no, KH3 decided to make all its ReMind bosses boring and artificially aggravating.

Now let's look at the story. So, they begin with the three heroes of the KH series each embarking on a mission. Sora needs to reawaken his power, Riku needs to save Aqua and Kairi needs to train. Now, considering the fact that they'd made 2 good games with branching, interconnected stories (BBS and DDD), why did they not think "Let's let the player swap between these three?". Let Kairi run around some new Disney worlds that Sora had never seen to get stronger and have her own adventures. Let Sora revisit his old friends while trying to get over his mental block (characters that spring to mind include Cloud, Elsa, Jack Skellington, Ariel and Beast. And have Riku coming to terms with the darkness inside him while exploring the dark worlds.

What we get instead is Kairi removed from the story for 90% of the game, Riku going through his own stuff in cutscenes apart from a couple of gratuitous gameplay sequences, and Sora traipsing through flat out copied and pasted Disney films with Sora and Co sloppily photoshopped in! Then we learn that Sora's story is irrelevant because the power was inside him all along (Barf) and then he DeusExCaliber's Riku and saves Aqua (Dumb) and then it's straight onto the final fight which manages to tie up the Nobodies and Apprentices storylines nice enough, but fails to be either interesting or fun beyond those fights.

Much like KH as a whole, they go too big and flashy without enough meat on any given section or story beat to be remotely entertaining. Huge worlds, huge fights, dramatic set pieces chained together and a combat system which basically boils down to "look at this pretty **** pirate ship/explosion/fiery lion, aren't the ps4's graphics amazing!?"

How, in the name of Zeus, Genova, Calypso, Hades and every other god featured in this god-awful game, can the studio have spent a decade making it and have it still feel rushed. Granted, Disney didn't help since I imagine they insisted the game followed the scripts of their stories, and I'm almost tempted to say that I enjoyed the Toy Story world minus the unnecessary size and length, but the love of all that's sane, why did Disney feel the need to have the Frozen soundtrack shoehorned in?

In short it was a poor climax to a declining series made even worse by gratuitous Disney masturbation.

Now about the plot, I don't wanna be a cry baby, but believe when I say the best way to describe is the following: imagine a 13 year-old writing a fan fiction the afternoon after her/his first heart-break. People say the story of the saga is complicated; let me tell you it is not. The story of the saga is quite simple, but they try to make it look complex by adding unrelated ideas extremely bad brought together, as if someone wanted to look smart asking silly questions in the most convoluted, poorly rhetorical way. All in all, it looks like a game whose only virtue is its name; other than that, its an old game, where all the effort has been put in making it pretty, not even being that nice to look at after all. Kingdom Hearts 3 offers players a stunningly wide array of rewarding, heterogeneous combat options taken from many previous installments, keeping the experience extremely fresh throughout, and adds new gamechanging mechanics such as the possibility to defend while airborne or switch Keyblades on the fly, which is a massive revolution allowing for more creative combos and a more fluid combat flow. Even after all of this, combat still greatly suffers from a restricted player agency due to the somewhat random and awkwardly time-restricted nature of Situation Commands, instead of the rewarding resource management on which KH2 relied. Nonetheless, just like KH2, KH3 offers a massive set of combat options, and while the main campaign is a little too easy with mostly simplistic bosses, the post-game content provides a wide array of challenging, deeply variegated bossfights with multifaceted movesets and interesting mechanics. Level Design is breathtaking, with huge open spaces developing in different ways in each new area. They lack meaningful platforming or environmental challenges, but they're packed with various collectibles, secrets and most of all minigames. KH3's greatest strength is in fact its gameplay variety and richness: on top of the tremendously upgraded Gummiship section, we find a staggering amount of polished, charming fun minigames and side-activities to enjoy and master, both self-contained and tangential to the core gameplay structure. The game's greatest weakness, on the other hand, is the story, especially as the finale of a saga lasted eight games. Most blatantly a horrible cutscene direction, with awkward silences between lines and stiff, slow action scenes. Most painfully, an unimaginative plot that tries to unravel the massive tangle of storylines built throghout the years in the quickest, simplest ways possible leading to a linear, bland story that disregards many previously established rules thus creating an embarassing amount of plotholes in a series that ironically prides itself on the importance of its story and complexity of its lore.
