    Fantastic, I'm only a few hours in but the combat is super engaging, the clunky mobility of early Kingdom Hearts games is completely forgotten in light of some of the most enjoyable movement I've ever experienced in a 3rd-person game, and the graphics are beautiful. Hopefully this game sells 10 million copies and forces Disney and SE to partner up more. The one minor negative I'd give it is that while the voice acting is excellent the fact that audio is recorded in many languages is obvious in most cut-scenes and leads to some strange timing/pauses, I don't know how expensive it would be to rewire these to be language-specific but it would significantly improve the occasionally-awkward timing of dialogue. I can't get over how fantastic and varied the abilities in this game are, I'm confident I'm not even close to seeing them all and there are already dozens of good ways to win any given fight, it's incredible.     It's been far to long but it was worth the wait. A magical adventure with its complicated story, yet easy to grasp if you play the previous titles, closes a chapter while seeding the ground for more to come tails. Amazing variety of gameplay never gets boring. A must play!

    This game realizes its Disney worlds amazingly well, the best that the series has ever done with greatly improved level design and exploration. Tangled, Pirates of the Carribean and Toy Story were done particularly well. Character interactions are excellent. The story for this arc is wrapped up very well. The minigames were also surprisingly enjoyable. Amazing game.

    The wait was worth it Nomura and the team have pulled it ofg and delivered a masterpiece. This is now my new favourite game ever. It deserves an 11/10 story, worlds graphics and the ost all blew me away i cried 6 times throughout the game

    This is just perfect, nothing more, nothing less. Graphic is beyond incredible, gameplay is so various that will never become boring, the ost is amazing. This is the game we were all been waiting for.

It's an enjoyable and fantastic rollercoaster of a journey that shows just how much the series has grown while still remaining true to itself. This end to the Xehanort saga was an end that did not disappoint in the slightest.

    Pros:    As a huge fan of the series, I have enjoyed most entries. In fact, the second game is my favourite game of all time. Kingdom Hearts III is no different here. It's an enjoyable and fantastic rollercoaster of a journey that shows just how much the series has grown while still remaining true to itself. This end to the Xehanort saga was an end that did not disappoint in the slightest.

    Pros:
    - Graphics and character/movie likeness are off the charts here. From visually stunning Pixar characters to scenes like the Let It Go segment from Frozen to the eerily good looking Pirates of The Caribbean world and characters, Kingdom Hearts III truly excels at presenting these properties; much more so than it ever has previously. Accuracy in voice, animation, models, particles and effects, lighting and everything in between is absolutely phenomenal. It was a joy to see childhood favourites of mine such as Buzz and Woody and Mike and Sulley in my favourite videogame series at last.

    - The combat of Kingdom Hearts is my all time favourite gameplay of any game or series. This time the combat offers the most fun and amount of depth. It sticks to its roots and shoots further beyond with its new transformations, abilities, forms and keyblade leveling systems. It plays extremely well and while to some it may seem quite floaty, less quick and snappy than Kingdom Hearts II; it still keeps it quick and flashy. There's no denying the love and effort they have put in and how fresh it truly feels. The combat is certainly up there with II as the best combat in the series.

    - Movie story representation/continuation is amazing and top notch while including Sora and co. into the movies. Some scenes look like they were just pulled right out of the movie!

    - World designs are an improvement over Kingdom Hearts II which in many fans eyes felt empty and flat. There is a lot more platforming here and the world's are filled to the brim with detail and love. Each world also has it's own specific forms of gameplay included which keeps each world unqiue and fresh. They're also huge and all varied in setting.

    - The music and overall story and conclusion is in my opinion the best of the series. Having immense knowledge of this series and it's narrative and all the little intricate details it entails, I am completely satisfied with the road this game takes. I don't want to spoil anything but I really really really enjoyed the story and cutscenes of this game. I hope those who are also massive fans will appreciate it as much as I did... For newcomers, it's certainly going to be less enjoyable and would be fairly confusing, but they would most likely have fun with the game.

    Cons:
    - One of my favourite hub worlds from the series, Twilight Town, is back for Kingdom Hearts III. It's a beautiful world and what is present is a blast to the past... But I can't help but feel disappointed by the lack of areas this version of the world has. With only 3 recognisable sections, there is much to be desired in terms of how Twilight Town should have evolved. (atleast these areas are all now one area with no load screens!)

    - For as much as this is a con, it's also a pro. When you find out there's only 8 Disney World's in the game, you'd imagine how fans could be upset... It's a small number of worlds and I can't help but feel like there should be just a few more. The pro to the small number is that these worlds are receiving the benefit of attention and quality. They are a joy to play in, being the biggest and most impressive worlds in the series in more ways than one. (Movie representation, graphics, world specific gameplay elements, map size, etc.)

    - Not a con, but a personal complaint. WHERE IS HALLOWEEN/CHRISTMAS TOWN!? My man Jack Skellington deserved to have his world in incredible graphics and scale.

    In conclusion, Kingdom Hearts III is incredible. It's fun to play, beautiful to look at, mesmerising to listen to and emotional and uplifting to watch the scenes. I'm proud of the team for accomplishing such a spectacular game. Well done, Tetsuya Nomura and the rest of Square Enix and the Osaka team. The wait was worth it and I look forward to the bright future of Kingdom Hearts. Those who dislike Kingdom Hearts are truly missing out and I'm super thankful to be a fan of this series. 10/10    … Expand

    It's the game I was waiting for. Kingdom Hearts is one of the most emotional and brilliant games ever made! I keep playing the game since the very first one, and I felt really happy with all the evolution of the whole series! We have one of the most exciting ends of ever! The combat is superb, the soundtrack makes you wanna cry and de story, well, it's kind hard to keep up, but it's beautiful!

    It's what the fans always wanted, it's pretty much the best ARPG out there, the gameplay is what FFXV should've been and the story is there to be appreciated by fans, that shouldn't frighten newcomes tho!

I'm 35 hours in and every second of it I've just been smiling through. Pure Joy is the words I would use to describe this one. I would consider myself a more casual Kingdom Hearts fans.     It may have taken a long time for this game to come, but it was totally worth the wait. I features all the things that made the franchise great in the first place, and has better combat, more worlds to explore, and much more content. Definitely a must play.

However, Kingdom Hearts 3 is not about that, except for the convoluted story but that is one of the main draws of the series and not following the other games can only put the person to guilty and not the series as a whole. It's a game with a wonderful spectacle and immense immersion to bring old fans into their inner child again. The series is still as full of heart as it always has been. The new Disney worlds are the best in the entire series, offering a great balance of combat and exploration, and some of them bring new original stories instead of the usual "rehash the movie's story". The writing in this game is also one of it's strongest points, being remarkably solid with an actual humor (previous games attempted such thing but never quite succeeded and it felt too shoe-horned in).

    The combat is, as many people say, quite easy and that may lead to a boring playthrough. However, as someone who loves to experiment with the mechanics of the game I found that KH3 doesn't encourages X mashing as much as the other games and wants you to unleash everything out. It turns each fight to it's own show of sparkles and spells. Considering that enemy sworms are bigger than before and enemies have more HP you will need all the tools to bring them down quickly. Now that critical mode is out I seriouslt want to see people complaining about no challenge (it's arguably the hardest the series has been).

    The series will never grow with it's fans and that isn't a bad thing! Just remember that your past memories will never leave you and let them take you to a nostalgia dance with familiar friends.    … Expand

    A Absolute Masterpiece! Makes FF15 combat look like a complete joke! This games combat mechanics stay true to the original and customization is as robust as ever!

    The Game looks and sounds Incredible. If your a fan of kh1 and 2 on ps2, You already purchased this game.

    This game is amazing, the gameplay is very fun (a little to busy too, but you can decide which feature you want to use). The attention to details is impressive, the artistic direction is amazing, i think is the best-looking game for console right now. I love it

    Game is great, i don't know why i listened to the haters and let them influence my decision for so long. Now that i got it and played it, the game is fantastic.
    The combat is much more similar to KH2 than it is to the handheld games which is good.

    Level design of maps also better than ever, they have the openness and verticality of DDD maps but the complexity of KH1 maps, so it's literally the best in the series.

    So I just finished the main game today, and I'm surprised to see the game get a lower score than it did. I read some of the low score reviews and I just had to laugh. The game really deserves a lot of praise and is really well done after waiting.     I am somewhat disappointed that there's no Final Fantasy characters in the series anymore, being a big fan of Final Fantasy and the series starting out with the appeal of FF characters crossover with Disney, but I get it. The games became such a big thing on its own and added so many unique characters of their own to substitute, that the FF characters no longer have a place in that universe. Also, FF is saturated with crossovers in all the other recent FF games now, so besides maybe one or two FF superbosses, it's probably a good thing there is no FF characters in KH anymore.

    Aside from that, the combat is super fun with the transformation keyblades, there are a lot of mini games to play and things to do for side content. I'm going to go back myself and do all the side content now, maybe try to unlock the secret ending, and all that fun stuff. It's definitely worth the full price if you're holding back and waiting for a price drop.    … Expand

Kingdom Hearts I, and II were perfect games in terms of how the pacing of those particular stories played out. Kingdom Hearts III on the other hand feels like a jolly, and gallant mosey through DisneyIn terms of story, there is something for everyone; however, the narrative pacing adopts the DDD approach to storytelling and nukes you with original Kingdom Hearts lore in the last world. Kingdom Hearts I, and II were perfect games in terms of how the pacing of those particular stories played out. Kingdom Hearts III on the other hand feels like a jolly, and gallant mosey through Disney worlds (best they've ever been), where Kingdom Hearts retains its humorous and light-hearted nature, until some of the darkest and shocking moments in the entire Kingdom Hearts series happens all at once -- and its a little overwhelming. The story overall was wrapped up mostly in a satisfying way with some great dialogue and interactions particularly between the members of 'old' organization XIII, and the main trio.

    The combat is floaty, and obsessed with glitz and glam, but it is definitely the best version of that particular Osaka team combat system design; however, it still fails to live up to the solid combat design of Kingdom Hearts II. The attractions were gaudy, long, drawn out, and could have been done away with as it sucked me out of otherwise invigorating combat with a mini-game; furthermore, it is impossible to tell on occasion whether you are hitting the enemy, or not simply because of how massive and flashy the attractions are at times.

    It was an absolute joy to traverse through the Disney worlds in Kingdom Hearts III; which have all been designed with the utmost care, compassion, and meticulousness according to their original creators, and this part of the game drastically overshadows its numbered predecessors. However, the main reason this game does not earn a 10 is due to the lack of original worlds and characters that have been built up for years including but not limited to:

    The Destiny Islands crew: Selphie, Tidus, Wakka. Whatever happened to them?!

    The Hollow Bastion Restoration Committee... Our honorary members: Aerith, Cloud, Leon, Cid, Yuffie!

    100 Acre Wood, and Twilight Town was kind of a letdown, especially because I am in love with those worlds. It pains me to say Twilight Town was not expansive as I believe it could have been especially because of how good it looks in Kingdom Hearts III. I also believe it lacked crucial classical locations such as the sandlot, sunset terrace, and no train station... Really?! Scala Ad Caelum was a disappointment as well and felt anti-climactic.

    I'm also salty Traverse Town is not a part of this game (but that's a nitpick). ;)

    The music? Awesome as usual, although I would have liked to see more original compositions for the final boss music from Shimomura-san.

    As someone who holds this series in the highest regard, I was really hoping to call this a masterpiece... However, it was worth the wait, is an incredible game in its own right, and besides, it was joyous to see the half-pints again. I cannot wait to see whats cooking in Nomura-san's head for the future of the series. Regardless, I'm so happy that after all these years, Kingdom Hearts still has that magic that turns me into my 11 year old self yearning for more.

It does get a little disorienting to see the old graphics in flashbacks, but it's in no way a detriment to the game. In fact, it does more to show how far the graphics have come in a single leap.

    But the reason we're all here is closure, and guess what? You'll get about 99% of the closure you're asking for. Think of a character arc you want completed- yes. It finishes. Well, almost all of them. Isa and Lea are clearly going to have a bigger role in the next game.

    What's that? Next game? Yes, KH3 is the conclusion to the Xehanort Saga, not the series as a whole. Union X introduced a ton of new plot elements that still need addressing, and an entirely new plot element is alluded to by Isa and Lea regularly. But hey, we get to see Luxu's face.

    - Whoever complaining about the subs. Learn Japanese or English. at least you need to learn english

    Memorized? they said 50USD for a single player is a cash grab then what is RE2 Remake?

    - No FF characters? a bit disappointed but you are not playing FF. you played Kingdom Hearts.
    KH =/= FF.

    Nomura should learn that releasing this for newcomers is a really bad idea. Even people who usually played fighting games can review this game 1/10. Just go back to your game. enjoy it instead of spreading negativities and hate. I mean there are lots of that doing that because they don't like the game. But does kingdom hearts 3 deliver? Well yes it indeed does and exceeds this. Kingdom hearts 3 is a magical and most action packed adventure sora and the gang have been on yet, not to mention the most gorgeous. The use of the unreal engine 4 shines to make each cut scene, each action sequence, and every interaction memorable, it is almost hard to believe the visual fidelity that kingdom hearts 3 has at times. The writing takes a better approach, with jokes landing more often than not, and some truly emotional, while also cheesy scenes, however the writing captures the best of kingdom hearts cheese and all. The gameplay is the best the series has to offer as well! From flow motion from ddd, to the shotlocks from birth by sleep the combat takes the best from the series and enhances it also introducing its own original ideas. The combat is so vast that often times more often than not each encounter can have completely different ways of play. Another thing is enemy variety, each world has unique enemies and figuring out the best strategy makes kingdom hearts 3 all the more enjoyable. This is a satisfying conclusion to the story that began in kingdom hearts 1 and I am thoroughly eager to see where the series goes in the future, Kingdom hearts 3 is one of the best games of recent years, and is without a doubt the best in the series. Even newcomers will find enjoyment here, kingdom hearts 3 is a masterpiece, for hardcore fans and newcomers alike.… Expand

    Just finished the game, and I must admit I felt in awe in many instances due to the ambitiously cinematic cutscenes. Having played this series since the beginning more than a decade ago, it feels amazing to play this game.

The worlds are phenomenal especially the Toy Story world, the Pirates of the Caribbean world, the Frozen world, the Big Hero 6 world, and the Monster Inc. world. The visual effects and graphics were remarkable especially Sora's magic, the bad guys, and all of the Disney and Pixar characters. The bad guys are awesome. The gameplay is fantastic. I loved the special moves especially the Carousel and the Mad Tea Cups. The key weapons are cool especially. This is a for sure A+ video game.… Expand

    Kingdom hearts was the first game i ever managed to finish on playstation 2 in and i loved it so much. I never got an opportunity to play the second game till much later in 2014. I only played the other games in 2017 but it always held a special pace in my heart.     This is honestly the best game i have ever played. i loved every second of my playthrough and i love the way the spirit of Disney and the kingdom hearts franchise was captured in this game. The happy go lucky attitude of Sora alongside his friends is a strong affirmation that there is artistic merit in games which aren't morose or outright scary which is the common trend at the moment. The story built up beautifully and there were plenty of surprises which firmly distinguished it from other entries. Thank you so much to all the developers for this wonderful game. I'm really looking forward to the next game and I hope it comes soon because i will be first in line to continue supporting this beautiful franchise, but until then i will be replaying Kingdom Hearts 3 till 2020!    … Expand

    This is my first Kingdom Hearts game and im totally surprise. The game is so much fun with so much variety. I want to play all other games to. Only thing is that sometimes characters a present in the game that were in the Game 1 or 2. So it would be nice to have some background story, but overall i love the game.

    Great game, but clearly needs a little bit of work for some it's commands, and for that matter, the various different triangle commands are too rampant and sometimes get in the way of other things the triangle button is used for. However, the attractions, keyblade forms, and team attacks are all a lot of fun to use so I can't call them bad or anything.     Totally worth it!! Nostalgic moments indeed, same Kingdom hearts that we love!! I just hope it had more Worlds, but well still a 10/10 for me. I'll give it an 11/10 if more Final Fantasy characters are present, That's the only thing lacking it.

I love all the side-content, the collectables, the little details. This game was carefully made. The combat is the best its best. It feels more like a true action RPG than any of the previous entries. There's lots of variety of how to go about killing all the Heartless and Nobodies. It's just so FUN. And colorful. And vibrant. And just full of energy and wonder. It has classic Disney charm. The cut scenes, animations, and voice-overs are so good and the best they've ever been. All in all, this is a great conclusion for any Kingdom Hearts fan, recent or older. This is really a sweet, highly enjoyable experience and I'm very satisfied with how it turned out. My only complaint is not being able to play more than 7 Disney worlds, because they are really addictive andI have only played 10 minutes of the game and I am already wanting Nomura to work on the new Kingdom Hearts. The gameplay is fast and addicting, and finding collectibles never feels tedious or tacked on, I always try to find everything. The story may not be friendly for newcomers. Whole story is a bit complicated and I would advice to play or at least watch previous KH (or simply go in KH3 menu where is summary of most things that happened). Which is nice for Xbox players that didn´t have chance to play other KH or for a newcomers that just want to try it out. As much as story canLets start with story, I will not go in deep details so don´t worry about spoilers. As much as story can look tangled if u listen and are interested in, you will find your way to understanding. Don´t get scared just because someone says its SUPER complicated, its just a matter of wanting to know ;)

    For gameplay, lets say Im not player that immedietly goes for hard/critical mode. I fully enjoyed standard difficulity, which fully lets you enjoy story. If you prefer challenge there´s always hard mode, maybe in future they will even add critical. Lets not forget this game was meant for all age categories a bit easier difficulity was to be expected. Sora´s movements looks natural and fights are fun, with added abilities each keyblade has different even more.

    As some complained about „old graphics“ I can´t agree on that. Game has awesome coat and every emotion on Soras face just makes you feel all of it with him, two worlds meets in this game (cartoon and anime) and uses best of both of those to the fullest.

    SQ didn´t disappoint and KH 3 is succes. Only dissappointment are some critics, I don´t really understand how u can critize a game with story based on friendship, hearts and darkness for what its based on. Its same as critize Batman for being too dark, u just can´t expect Batman to be bright, shiny and smiling from ear to ear.

If you wanna get this game, I recommend not reading critics' reviews and play or learn the lore before KH3. I personally find reviews useless now a days, because most of them are opinion based. Everyone will have a different opinion to this game, so I'd try it out after learning the lore and you give your own opinion, don't let someone else's point of view good or bad deter you from making your own. That being said in my opinion I love this game so much, and have been following the KIngdom Hearts series for 13 years now, and will continue to do so. The games visuals are absolutely amazing and the story again may not be easy for a newcomer but definitely made me cry tears of joy and sadness.     Love everything about this game. I don’t understand some of the bad reviews, but to each their own I guess. Everything I expected plus more. Love the flexibility, the story, and how beautiful the world are. Go play KH3 now!

    You get everything wrapped up nicely and new gameplay mechanics that add to what already was a great gameplay set up. Seeing Toy Story was a real treat, something I had wanted since the first game. The ending was bittersweet and to me the best way to end the franchise.     The game was shorter than I expected. Only took 22 hours to beat it but overall that doesn't alter how I felt about the overall story and the conclusion.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I love this game, I have loved kingdom hearts since I was a child, and i think this is the perfect revival of the series. Theirs so much to think about with this game, which people don't think about. This is a sequel in the public's eyes to a 13 year old game. This game needed more Disney to sell copies, square did awful last year in terms of sales when it comes to just cause and tomb raider. Whatever kingdom hearts decides to do in the future will make sense. My only real complaint that I don't think they will fix later is the fact that sora runs too fast, which is the whole reason the game feels so fast. The worlds feel like they fly by because you're moving faster than sonic does in his own games sometimes. Almost all of the 100 bad reviews of this game are people who are mad because it does not have the content that they expected because they had only played the final mixes of the games. DLC will most likely make 95% of the bad review's touched upon topics irrelevant. Play kingdom hearts, enjoy life, smile.… Expand

For me, the franchise is not about the struggle to grasp its complex story at all. I find the complexity is purposeful as it makes you take a step back from your head and into the heart of it. Combat wise KH3 has delivered, a lot of people were nervous of how it would turn out due to previous KH games combat style changing and many people did not like that, I found it very mesmerizing as it takes the combat style from KH2 and adds elements from the other KH games, not for one second did I feel overwhelmed by the controls, mobility or commands, and yes I have enjoyed every other KH combat including CoM, Re:Coded and KHUX. For those who are complaining that the game isn't "Hard Enough", please please please understand this is not DARKSOULS or BLOODBORNE, KH is not branded as a Hard game, yes there are those very difficult secret bosses but that doesn't mean that the whole game must be difficult, granted, there is no critical mode even after beating the game which is a bummer for some (including me who beat all KH games on critical and got most of them Platinum, but I don't give it that much thought to the point that I ruin a game's review). Now that combat is out of the way, let's get to the part that I suppose die hard KH fans care about the most, The Story, now do not worry this is spoiler free so don't go closing your tabs, KH3 tries its best to be new player friendly, but if you think about it, its impossible, the amount of Story, plot twists and Characters in the KH universe is tremendous, I replayed all KH games 3 months prior to the release and STILL I have details and plots that I still forget, don't understand or never got an answer for, I am sorry to say this but don't expect to understand the story from KH3 alone if you're a new comer, as a community we are happy that more people are joining us on this adventure, but you'll either need to play the previous games (for which they include a bundle on the PS Store that you can get for around $120 as I recall) or you can watch the story on YouTube by a youtuber caled Everglow, he has a full playlist of the story in the chronological order and the videos are made with absolute passion, seriously check them out if you're not bothered to play all 6 games prior to KH3, but don't start the game until you have an idea about the story as it helps give meaning to the events happening in KH3. Now that I am done with new comers, KH die hards, I promise you, you will not be disappointed from KH3 story, it is more than we ever expected, it is well paced, though be prepared for a lot of long cutscenes (which is fine by me), also get your theories ready prior to playing KH3, because you have no idea if a theory is right and how satisfying it is when you get it right, I won't go any further because I don't wanna spoil the story in any fashion. I truly hope that you enjoy the game with your loved ones the same way I did and it would be an experience to remember, after all it felt like ages until KH3 finally came out, so make sure you make the most out of it.     The gameplay is really fun, the graphics are amazing, the soundtrack is gorgeous as always and help to give really impactful moments.

    Kingdom Hearts III doesn’t go in the direction some RPG fans will no doubt have been hoping for. It’s unashamedly over the top in just about every way, from its barmy story and stunning presentation to its huge cinematic battles. There’s plenty of depth here too, though you’ll need to find your bearings first.

    There is no doubt that Kingdom Hearts III will make long term fans moved or even cry. As for those new to the franchise, I believe they also can be satisfied because of tons of classic Disney elements and solid combat system, even though they could barely understand the main story.
