    Before diving to the heart (pun intended) of my review, I think it's worth mentioning that Kingdom Hearts III is not a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, but it's the conclusion of the entire series, including the spin-offs.
    Fortunately for newcomers like me, Kingdom Hearts III does re-cap parts of the story from the previous Kingdom Hearts games in different ways, making Kingdom Hearts III's    Before diving to the heart (pun intended) of my review, I think it's worth mentioning that Kingdom Hearts III is not a sequel to Kingdom Hearts II, but it's the conclusion of the entire series, including the spin-offs.
    Fortunately for newcomers like me, Kingdom Hearts III does re-cap parts of the story from the previous Kingdom Hearts games in different ways, making Kingdom Hearts III's story easier to follow. However, just like in the previous Kingdom Hearts games, Kingdom Hearts III's story is convoluted and the writing is weak for the most part... but I didn't hate it, even though some cutscenes are overly long and the pacing has issues.
    The gameplay is great though despite being very easy, and it's extremely diverse; there are so many different things to do, it's actually impressive.
    The characters - including the Disney characters - are pretty good too.
    The visuals are stunning and the music is really good.
    Also, the Disney worlds represented in Kingdom Hearts III are the highlight of the game by far; they're absolutely wonderful!
    The new outfits, Keyblades and U.I. changes are cool as well.
    Now, I don't know if it's an unpopular opinion, but honestly, I don't like how some Disney characters are major party members in this game because it ruins the immersion for me; I'd prefer if all of the Disney characters in this game were side-characters in different Disney worlds, but it's not a big deal at all.

    - Poor writing
    - Long cutscenes & pacing issues

    Despite its fair amount of flaws, Kingdom Hearts III made me feel like a kid again at times and that's one of the sweetest compliments I can give to a videogame.

    Do I recommend it?:
    For newcomers, I'd recommend reading a summary of the stories in the previous Kingdom Hearts games or play Kingdom Hearts: The Story So Far before playing Kingdom Hearts III.

    Game with the magic that characterizes the saga. History has reached a point where it makes no sense. For the rest, the game is superfine to play and on a difficult level +. The DLC combats are where the combat really shines and they make it a great game

    Great Video Game, very fun and enjoyable to listen to, and has amazing graphics

    Update: after playing the whole game series from 1 and portable games; this game is like Arkham Knight where the main story is just the conclusion of it, and in that regard, it's a great game however is not best as i think the second game is the best of the series.

    An absolutly fantastic finale to kingdom hearts full of nothing but pay offs for everything the series has done, even pays off the mobile games in a satisfying way. The only major issue is its difficulty and by that I mean the complete lack of it, the game at times is laughably easy.

    If we're talking pre Re:Mind I would've given it an 8.5. Amazing visuals, lovely level design, iffy story though it has its charm if you're a diehard fan like me, and the combat is ridiculously fun. Not to mention the phenomenal soundtracks with some renditions being better than their original compositions (in my opinion). But with Re:Mind's inclusion... my god. The combat is so muchIf we're talking pre Re:Mind I would've given it an 8.5. Amazing visuals, lovely level design, iffy story though it has its charm if you're a diehard fan like me, and the combat is ridiculously fun. Not to mention the phenomenal soundtracks with some renditions being better than their original compositions (in my opinion). But with Re:Mind's inclusion... my god. The combat is so much better, the limitcut bosses are some of the best in the series (especially the super secret one) and it fixed the problems I originally had the story. If you were to pick up KH3, pick it up alongside Re:Mind, but if you can't do that KH3 alone should be good enough to satisfy you.… Expand

    Cómo no hablar de decepción con esta entrega si es uno de los juegos con menor dificultad que he jugado en mi vida, casi tratandote como un niño de 5 años, sin incluir ningun personaje de Final Fantasy y narrando una historia inentendible por culpa de tantos y tantos años de enrevesarla con doscientas entregas en ochenta y cuatro plataformas diferentes.     Visually its breathtaking, Gameplay wise its fun, story wise it contiunes the saga that was build up over all older titles. In term of an final conclusion it is not fully forfilling. This story changes some of the fates of previous characters wich take a bit of the deph of and sad moments from other games away mostly Birth by Sleep. The ending ´makes me rly emotinal but is also not rly an ending. But the small critisim away its still a fantastic game.    … Expand

    I've never been more contradicted about any game. I want to love this game, I do. But there are few things that bug me too much. I love the worlds and the Kingdom Hearts franchise in general, but this is definitely my biggest disappointment yet. (until the Re Mind dlc)
    All and all, the Disney worlds look amazing, game is fun to play but all the carousels whatsoever bring the experience a    I've never been more contradicted about any game.     KH3 concludes an arc started with 358/2, days, Recoded, and Birth by sleep where everything finaly comes together for the final battle against Xehanort. If your looking for setup it happens in those games, KH3 is the last piece in the Dark Seeker saga and return to full action combat first, rpg second formula, and osaka's (non numbered titles developers) first mainline KH game so they doKH3 concludes an arc started with 358/2, days, Recoded, and Birth by sleep where everything finaly comes together for the final battle against Xehanort. If your looking for setup it happens in those games, KH3 is the last piece in the Dark Seeker saga and return to full action combat first, rpg second formula, and osaka's (non numbered titles developers) first mainline KH game so they do stumble here and there, but nothing game breaking unlesss all you want is the same combat from Kh2FM

    These games are made with love and honesty, but also require alot of dedication as there is alot to do. KH3 is not much different in that regard not counting a few elements from the last numbered titles. These games are not for everyone but if it hits you it hits you.     Half the time I had no idea what's going on.

    That didn't stop me from having a blast with the combat and getting slightly obsessed with understanding the lore. I remember playing KH1 and KH2 back in school and no convoluted story will ever get me to dislike this series. KH3 is an awesome game with interesting characters and an exciting journey concluding. I really hope they soon    Half the time I had no idea what's going on.

    Traveling to different Worlds and making new friends, this is pretty much how I see Kingdom Hearts. It's worth to mention that this was my first Kingdom Hearts game, but I did read a summary of the lore and the previous games, and I can safely say that I understood the story... or some of it, but unfortunately the story is indeed overly complicated and it didn't click with me, so I knewTraveling to different Worlds and making new friends, this is pretty much how I see Kingdom Hearts. It's worth to mention that this was my first Kingdom Hearts game, but I did read a summary of the lore and the previous games, and I can safely say that I understood the story... or some of it, but unfortunately the story is indeed overly complicated and it didn't click with me, so I knew from the get-go that I shouldn't expect great story writing. The best things about the game are the magnificent worlds, gorgeous visuals, spectacular music and enjoyable gameplay mechanics.     Out of all the Kingdom Hearts games I have played (1, 2, the DS one with the fraction of days), I think this one had the least amount of Heart, ironically. The gameplay was very smooth and solid, but it was a bit on the easy side, and the Disneyland rides felt out of place and incredibly OP--to the point where I was avoiding using them in order to make fights harder and more fun. Overall,Out of all the Kingdom Hearts games I have played (1, 2, the DS one with the fraction of days), I think this one had the least amount of Heart, ironically.     Despite having a very complicated story, Kingdom Hearts 3 succeeds from such an amazing gameplay standpoint. The Battle system in the game feels like such an evolution from the previous games. Movement, Keyblade transformations, Attractions, Flow Motion, all of these combine to make a very engaged battle system that makes Kingdom Hearts 3 a fun time to play. Battles feel like they haveDespite having a very complicated story, Kingdom Hearts 3 succeeds from such an amazing gameplay standpoint.     this game took 12 years to coming but it was absolutely worth it,ok the story is confusing, the ultima weapon in a pain in the *** more than kh1 and 2 but this game is GREAT buy it kh fans!

    This is the best game of the past decade for me. Sora taught me on change and friendship. And it was the game that made me mature. The combos are wicked, the story is good, the characters are inspiring, the voices are on spot, and the soundtrack is spectacular. Definitely a game that I would strongly recommend. Don't Buy Balan Wonderworld, buy this game instead.

    I think this game would deserve an 8'5. It seems thought-out and polish. Graphics are good, the plot got really messy after the first Kingdom Hearts and they messed it up, so don't worry much about it if you don't follow the plot; just defeat the baddies and enjoy the new Disney worlds, which is the essence of this game. A bad thing from this game is that it hasn't autosaved and it shouldI think this game would deserve an 8'5. It seems thought-out and polish. A bad thing from this game is that it hasn't autosaved and it should have because when you finish a world there are many dialogues and you can't save. This would be my main complaint. It took me almost 31 hours in normal difficulty, fighting with almost every enemy I found and I only died once (in fact twice if I count the time that an item saved me) at the end of this game. Be adviced that the final battle is long and it is the most difficult. If you are used to games I'd recommend you to play in normal. If you are new with games try easy and if you are a pro or you want to spend time leveling your team, try the difficult level. To sum up, a must have game if you played and liked KH1 (and 2 too) and like Disney movies. Specially recommended for teenagers in my opinon. P.S: Don't waste your time looking for the Mickey mouse symbols. I finished the game with only 24 out of 90. They say that in normal difficulty you can see a secret ending if you find at least half of them but I took a picture of all the symbols I found and I'm still far from that achievement.     When it comes to its technical aspects KH3 is TOP. But, story wise is pitiful at best. Nomura needs to let FF13Versus go, otherwise Remind would have been even better. Also, I have to add that the game is an 8 now that it has Remind, I probably give the game alone a 6 or so.

    But all in all I really enjoyed what I get. A 3rd full game with Sora where you are companied from Donald and Goofy just like the first and the second game. The Graphics and animations are really well made. And the soundtrack is thanks to the composer Yoko Shimomura great as always.

    If you like Action RPG's, Disney or Anime, you should give Kingdom Hearts 3 a shot. You might like it. :-)

    Since it is a continuation of the story though, I would recomment to play "KIngdom Hearts: The Story so far" first and then come to this title.    … Expand

    Thank you Square Enix for this amazing game.
    I am seriously amazed of how good this game is. The attention to details, all the stuff we can do while fighting , the exploring aspect of many different worlds, the characters personality and the way they interact with each other And above all, the stuff we can do while fighting plus the great graphics.

    The game is a masterpiece except the story unfortunately is just so convoluted. And i hope they let disney characters involve more to the main story in the future. If you remove all disney characters, the main story will still go on its own. Like indiana jones

    Was it worth the wait? Absolutely. Is it the best one in the series? I wouldn't say that. Nut it is the best looking out of them all. It's great to see brand new worlds to explore and new combat mechanics to this fun adventure. Though it kinda left me questioning the ending. There is still lots to love about this one.

    I was not really a fan of the series, I only ever played KH:BBS on the PSP before, I had to watch a youtube video on what the story so far in KH knowing KH3 will be the last in the Xehanort Saga I just had to play it. Hikaru Utada really nailed the songs in this game so much, as for the story I may have not understood it by the end I still enjoyed it, gameplay was fun had a little learningI was not really a fan of the series, I only ever played KH:BBS on the PSP before, I had to watch a youtube video on what the story so far in KH knowing KH3 will be the last in the Xehanort Saga I just had to play it.     A nivel jugable no innova mucho respecto a sus entregas numeradas principales; donde si destaca es a nivel técnico, donde se ha hecho un trabajo tremendo para volver "naturales" las apariciones de los protagonistas en las distintas sagas de Disney. Un punto realmente destacable, a nivel gráfico y artístico, es el mundo de Toy Story.
    En tanto, la compleja narrativa no logra dar una    A nivel jugable no innova mucho respecto a sus entregas numeradas principales; donde si destaca es a nivel técnico, donde se ha hecho un trabajo tremendo para volver "naturales" las apariciones de los protagonistas en las distintas sagas de Disney. Un punto realmente destacable, a nivel gráfico y artístico, es el mundo de Toy Story.
    En tanto, la compleja narrativa no logra dar una respuesta satisfactoria al final del juego; deja más preguntas abiertas que cerradas, y ademas deja puertas abiertas a una nueva secuela. Y lo que va pasando no se explica bien o directamente no se explica, es todo muy porque sí. Aun así, no quita que me emocionará con el final del juego y soltara un par de lágrimas.     First KH game and III was a lot of fun. The gameplay is aesthetically pleasing and diverse, the fabricated storylines are interesting and overall it was fun exploring the different worlds Disney-Pixar have created.

Obrigado Square enix, vcs me fizeram lembrar dos meus tempos de garoto quando ficava horas e horas jogando os primeiros jogos da série

For example Toy story world looks so realistic and detailed , just like the movie does , when you start at Olimpus , you have the same art style as you can see in Hercules from 1997. I loved that.     The graphics are stunning, the soundtrack is amazing and the gameplay is fun and dynamic. The story is good, but some Disney worlds feel like just marketing, they lead nowhere. The lack of Final Fantasy characters is also disappointing. Nonetheless, very fun to play.

    This game had it flaw but even if I look at the graphics I didn’t get bored. This game has fun gameplay, great graphics and saga concluded perfectly. I know the storytelling is bad in someway but, I like it actually. deserves 10 imo!

I don't know if this was because of corporate meddling, but I would have loved to see a different take on these worlds.

    Sometimes I also would have preferred to get back to the gameplay, but couldn't because of the heavy amount of cutscenes that will jump you at every opportunity. I wish the game would have been more concise, even if it meant cutting down the number of cameo characters.

    Overall, though, I had a very positive experience. (Note: I have a completely different opinion of the ReMIND dlc. Avoid that at any cost...)    … Expand

    I bought Kingdom Hearts 3 in a sale to play with my youngest daughter (age 6) and we have both thoroughly enjoyed the game.

    Visually the game is beautiful, imaginative and looks as if you were really inside a Disney movie. The detail to each level shows Square Enix clearly has a passion for Disney. The wealth of characters and worlds really is amazing. The game takes you to visit characters from Toy Story, Frozen, Tangled, Big hero 6, Pirates of The Caribbean and many more. Each world is crafted with love and has a real sense of magic. The voice acting and animation during the many cut-scenes is top notch. Each world has its own story that incorporates the characters that live there.

    Kingdom Hearts 3 is an action RPG, on the surface it looks like a game for kids (it can be on easy settings) but crank the level up and you get yourself a pretty hard-core action RPG. Combat is similar(ish)to Final Fantasy 15, in that all action is in real time. Battles are in real time so in-between bashing X to attack you will need to evade, cast spells, use items and change Key Blades (Your main weapon).
    Fight long enough and you get to use special attacks, each Key blade has different abilities which grow in power as you fight. The coolest features of battle are the special attacks and link summons.
    Special attacks create famous Disney World attractions that are used as weapons these include; The Pirate Ship, Big Magic Mountain and The Mad Tea Cups. They are amazing fun and brilliant to watch in action.
    The link characters allow you to summon strong allies to help you in battle. Each summon will unleash a powerful attack and an insane finisher; they are a graphical marvel to watch. My favourite is the first summon unlocked (Wonder Balloon) which is a cute looking chubby, bouncy creature that you jump around on until it explodes into hundreds of smaller creatures that fill the screen with colour.

    Level design is interesting and fun, I don’t particularly like that enemies tend to respawn over and over, but that’s a staple of JRPGs so to be expected. Traveling from world to world via Gummy Ship is always enjoyable; at this point the game becomes a space shooter. The game is packed with fun things to do, the many mini-games along your journey add variety, and you never feel bored. The sound score is big and conveys the sense of magic throughout the game.

    But there is one let down for a new comer; the main story line. This may not be an issue to long term fans but to me and my daughter it was very confusing and at times very long. The story goes back 2002 and has spanned over around 15 games (I think). So there’s a lot of characters and talk of things you have no idea about. Characters linger too long on dialogue that makes no sense to a new player and I found myself skipping the scenes that didn’t contain Disney movie characters. I liked Sora, the main character but a lot of the other characters I didn’t care for. But that criticism is entirely because I haven’t played the other games.
    Luckily within a Disney character’s world the cut scenes are fine, and easy to follow as they are almost separate mini stories.

    So overall I loved the game. My daughter also loved it, she found it easy enough to play (on easy settings and with my help) and we both enjoyed the story within Disney worlds. Graphically the game is stunning, the music sound and voice work are top quality, the gameplay is fun and the action and combat are brilliant.
    I’d highly recommend Kingdom Hearts 3.    … Expand

I really enjoyed different things in this game like the end of Xehanort, the awakening of Ventus, Terra that battles and defeats his darkness (I mean Terra-Xehanort) thanks to Sora too, Aqua that comebacks to the realm of light after a very beautiful boss fight between Sora and Riku against her and then, one of the thing that I appreciated the most, when Lea(or Axel if you want), Roxas and Xion reunite after a while, it was very emotional.… Expand

It came full circle in the end (not gonna spoil it but people who have played the game know what i mean) and while there sadly was a lack of FF characters i must say: it still worked because the game was so full of Original characters that there was literally no room for more. Not without the Story having to suffer from it. Also they will probably get added via the remind dlc so there is that. The worlds felt disconected from the over all story because this time they dealt more with certain themes that would get relevant in the end and not with pushing the story itself like in the other games. The combat was basivally KH and over all Action rpg heaven. The gummiship was actually fun this time around as well. So over all an awsome game. It would also be rated way higher if there weren't certain critiques giving the game a low rating for having "too much zippers." Stuff like that ruins not only their credebility but also the one of the newssite they are working for. Was the game perfect? Hell no. No game is perfect. Not even games like breath of the wild or Persona 5. It is a very fun and enjoyable game though and should satisfy even Hardcore fans though IF they haven't hyped this game up for themselfes like it should be basically the second coming of Jesus.     This is my first Kingdom Hearts game and im totally surprise. The game is so much fun with so much variety. I want to play all other games to. Only thing is that sometimes characters a present in the game that were in the Game 1 or 2. So it would be nice to have some background story, but overall i love the game.

While I do have problems with the game and I can see it’s flaws, I feel like the good of the game outweighs the bad for me enough to be considered my fourth favorite Kingdom Hearts game in the series. It’s not perfect, butKingdom Hearts is my favorite video game series of all time alongside Pokemon, and as such I hold each KH game in a special place in my heart. This game is no different.     Game is great, i don't know why i listened to the haters and let them influence my decision for so long. Now that i got it and played it, the game is fantastic.
    The combat is much more similar to KH2 than it is to the handheld games which is good.

    I was hoping for more of a finality on the series but the ending left me feeling like we'll see another game in about 10 years or so... I loved what I played but I feel like the series needs to come to a close. 8/10, will be buying the next game on the PS6 I guess.

    Pero como todo tiene sus cosas negativas, como la dificultad, ya que me aprecio muy fácil incluso en modo experto (no probé el maestro todavía), la cantidad de relleno que hay en el medio de la historia es impresionante, literalmente lo tocho es el final, cuando en el Kingdom Hearts 2 había mas contenido con respecto a este tema, tambien el tema del reciclaje con los villanos y musica pero se lo deja pasar por lo que pasa en el juego, y el mayor problema del juego SON LA CANTIDAD DE PERSONAJES JUGABLES, no me podes poner a Sora el 90%, Riku 8% y Aqua 2%, cuando hay mas personajes jugables con sus respectivos villanos que aparecen en el juego.
    Aun así con todos estos defecto la saga cierra satisfactoriamente y un poco confuso con respecto a los nuevos villanos que aparecerán en algún futuro juego.    … Expand

    I am a big fan of Kingdom Hearts, it is easily placed in the top 3 of the best episodes.

    So after a long, long time waiting we finally get the next big installment in the KH series? So does it live up to the lofty expectations? ... Yes and no. The good parts: the gameplay is fantastic. It takes all the good parts of the spin offs and adds it to KH2, with a couple new mechanics even and makes the best combat in KH's long history. The new worlds are for the most part ver good,So after a long, long time waiting we finally get the next big installment in the KH series? So does it live up to the lofty expectations? ... Yes and no. The good parts: the gameplay is fantastic. The new worlds are for the most part ver good, with beautiful graphics, voice acting, and feeling of their original materials. Parts of the story work well, with some well deserved fan favorite moments. Now, the not so good: The story misses more than a few moments, with some aspects like playable characters or bosses fights lacking or missing at all. It doesn't take the risks that I expected after all this time waiting, nor it truly gives us something totally new or original or really spectacular. The finale of the saga doesn't live up to the lofty expectations, but for fans, it is a ver solid and enjoying experience. Hopefully with DLC it can reach at least one more point.… Expand

    I’ll be honest for a second, the wait for this game wasn’t quite as excruciating for me. That sounds bizarre, I know, and I’m not trying to invalidate those who did have to wait long for this, but for me, I hardly knew about this series until this particular game was announced in 2013. And yes, the wait between announcement and release was definitely long, but consider this: I only firstI’ll be honest for a second, the wait for this game wasn’t quite as excruciating for me. That sounds bizarre, I know, and I’m not trying to invalidate those who did have to wait long for this, but for me, I hardly knew about this series until this particular game was announced in 2013. And yes, the wait between announcement and release was definitely long, but consider this: I only first played a “Kingdom Hearts” game in 2014, and I didn’t properly get into the series (or, for that matter, beat a “Kingdom Hearts” game) until 2017, only two years ago. By the time I’d set my hype-thrusters to max, not only was the game relatively close to release, but I still had several games left to play in the series. By the time the game even came out, I still wasn’t even done “Birth by Sleep!” But now, about six months after it’s release, I’ve finally gotten through the game…and in the time I spent away from the Internet beating it, I came back to find the game’s been a bit polarizing. Not precisely bad, but it seems there’s some rather mixed opinions on it. So, what did I think? Was I satisfied after the long wait for the game? Well, for the most part, sure!
    “Kingdom Hearts III,” as one may expect from this series’s first totally new venture on PlayStation 4, looks absolutely marvelous. It’s vibrant, it’s colorful, the character models and animations are sharp, and the visual design of the Disney worlds are lovingly-created wonders to behold. The gameplay is also fine-tuned and polished to near-perfection: the combat is rock solid, the new Attraction Flow and upgrades to Keyblades help make things even more slick, the improvements to the Gummi Ship are much-appreciated, and many of the changes to platforming and controls are very welcome, too. Per usual, the music is incredible, the voice acting is solid, and while the story in “Kingdom Hearts” is usually a mess to interpret, I appreciate how things wrap up here and how said wrap-up leaves the door open for potential new entries, even if this story is the end of the “Dark Seeker Saga.”
    That said, there are some things holding this game back from living up to the standards of the other two numbered entries. For starters, I feel like, while the Disney worlds are visual marvelous, a few of them are actually quite monotonous, and don’t have the same memorability or wondrous gameplay design as previous worlds in the series (my two “lowlights” in particular are the Kingdom of Corona from “Tangled” and Arendelle from “Frozen”). Furthermore, I’m not quite sure what was going on with the bosses in this game. One minute, I’m fighting a rather difficult boss that takes me more than a few tries to complete, but then the next boss ends up being a cakewalk. It feels like the game didn’t really have any idea how to balance the difficulty out, and instead it chose to radically shift the difficulty sliders between the two furthest ends of the spectrum at free will.
    Even so, despite not being the “Game of the Century” that we may have hoped for, “Kingdom Hearts III” is another worthwhile entry to the franchise, and it’s definitely a rock-solid conclusion to the “Dark Seeker Saga” of this series. Here’s hoping the wait for “Kingdom Hearts IV” (or whatever the next game is gonna be called) doesn’t last until 2032.

    It was an experience. I've played the kh series ever since I first played the first one when I was 5 and I fell it love with it.
    This game is better than kh2 and kh2 FM, kh3 took what kh2 lacked and made it better.

    There’s still a little bit of content missing, but overall it’s a very big game.
    I’m waiting for the DLC.

    Kingdom Hearts III doesn’t go in the direction some RPG fans will no doubt have been hoping for. It’s unashamedly over the top in just about every way, from its barmy story and stunning presentation to its huge cinematic battles. There’s plenty of depth here too, though you’ll need to find your bearings first.

    There is no doubt that Kingdom Hearts III will make long term fans moved or even cry. As for those new to the franchise, I believe they also can be satisfied because of tons of classic Disney elements and solid combat system, even though they could barely understand the main story.
