It's relatively short in terms of collection of games than its predecessor but it helps proceed the story to its conclusion. Overall, I must buy if you played the previous remixes or never got to play one of the games in this collection.

It's fun, but it leaves a lot to be desired, Aqua's game is better but it's very short, the story doesn't progress until the end of Dreams drop distance...

The HD version of Dream Drop Distance is very well made. Storywise, it is a bridge game between Kingdom Hearts 2 and 3 which sets up the eventy for Kingdom Hearts 3. It is also a relatively long game where the main story is like 25-30 hours and also has some side content to explore.

All in all I think it is a good package to enjoy before playing Kingdom Hearts 3. Since the games are older though, I don't think it is worth full price, but this is really subjective. I think right now it's worth like 20-30 Dollars.

I played Dream drop distance for 7 hours until I got stuck (more or less half of the game). Graphics could be much better for a ps4 game. I know I could finish this game if I look for information in the internet but because I'm not really interested in KH games anymore I'll just pass. The best of 0.2 Birth by sleep (the second game) is its graphics. Finally! A ps4 KH game with decent graphics! They didn't screw up the gameplay so this is another good thing. The bad thing is that it has too many and complicated puzzles. Expand

I started playing this game thinking it was going to be a disappointment.
    Boy, was I wrong.
    I loved the game!
The battle system is amazing, the worlds are pretty, it's challenging as hell, characters are cool and bosses are fun.
Had real good time with it.

2 things really bothered me, though: The Spirit System and the awkward writing.
Other than that, it's focking nice!

I have to ask, am I the only one that was a bit baffled when I heard this was a thing? Sure, "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" was the only "Kingdom Hearts" game that wasn't on consoles in some form or fashion (be it playable or through the Theater Mode), but I had to wonder at the time if this was just another excuse to keep us away from "Kingdom Hearts III." Sure, "Kingdom Hearts 3D: Dream Drop Distance" was the only "Kingdom Hearts" game that wasn't on consoles in some form or fashion (be it playable or through the Theater Mode), but I had to wonder at the time if this was just another excuse to keep us away from "Kingdom Hearts III." Hell, when you slap a number like 2.8 on the game, I immediately start lining a list of questions (first of them being, "what the hell are you doing over there?"). But okay, this was our last step before "Kingdom Hearts III," so does Square Enix still do good things with it? Well, sure!
"Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" (wow, that's an unwieldy title) brings with it largely new content: outside of the "Dream Drop Distance" port (which, in and of itself is a nice and well made port), this collection comes with "Kingdom Hearts 0.2: Birth By Sleep - A Fragmentary Passage" (jeez, another wild title), which is essentially a demo to prepare you for "Kingdom Hearts III," and it also comes with the "Kingdom Heart χ Back Cover" cinematic film, telling the story of new characters, The Foretellers. This is a nice, short film that adds some new development to an already detailed story, but the real cream of the crop is "A Fragmentary Passage," a three-hour demo of sorts that has great combat, beautiful level designs, and some overall rip-roaring gameplay while it lasts. The collection as a whole also continues to tick all the presentation boxes that the series is known for, specifically the beautiful graphics, smooth controls and fantastic soundtrack.
Unfortunately, this package is far from perfect: for starters, the frustrating Drop mechanic from "Dream Drop Distance" is only made worse when playing on a console, and it seems like the one handheld-to-console "Kingdom Hearts" port that benefits the least from said move. Furthermore, while "Kingdom Hearts χ Back Cover" does a nice job developing the Foretellers and keeping things short...let's be honest, the story of this series is already lop-sided and bizarre as it is, do we need to be more confused? And further, while "A Fragmentary Passage" is the real prize of the collection, it does suffer a bit from an inconsistent frame rate, which is disappointing given that the gameplay is so strong and it gives a great idea of how "Kingdom Hearts III" will play.
All in all, "Kingdom Hearts HD 2.8 Final Chapter Prologue" (Square, what the hell is the matter with your titles) is wholly unnecessary, and it's gonna be perplexing and unwieldy to some hardcore fans. Yet, this is still a well-made collection that did a nice job holding fans over until "Kingdom Hearts III" finally released. It's definitely not the best of the many "Kingdom Hearts" collections, but it's definitely worth a shot if you're a big fan of the series.

8.7 from me as a hardcore fan.

Great port of the 3DS game, looks damn fine on PS4 Pro. The 0.2 Passage needed way more depth tbh and Aqua is fan favourite for a reason, was a bit of a shame it was so short, it's the main reason I marked this down from 10 as that was more of a tech demo than a game (like Metal Gear Solid V: Ground Zeroes). The movie for Kingdom Hearts Chi: Back Cover is another reason this earns a 9. It's shorter than the other KH movies from 1.5 HD Remix and 2.5 HD Remix films they had and as a result, could've elaborated a bit more and pushed more animation in it (something all of them are lacking tbh), however voice acting is epic and it is rather attractive still. Story makes you want more.

I'm generous with the 9 by a bit, 8/10s are understandable ratings also.

I paid 30$ for this, and that's what I'd say this game is worth (Given KH 1.5 + 2.5 is worth $60)

That said, there's some fun gameplay here. KH 3d has fun combat, and flowmotion is an interesting way to move around and unleash special moves. Unfortunately the story, writing, and a few gameplay ideas are questionable. "Dropping" serves no purpose other than being one of the "D's" in 3D,

The entire premise is silly and potentially frustrating, but fortunately doesn't impact the game much. The story is confusing as usual, although this time even more so. My advice would be to turn your brain off and enjoy the individual world's stories.

On the bright side, KH 0.2 was a wonderful glimpse into the future KH 3, and is a good game on it's own merit. Aqua's journey into the abyss was interesting and fun, and shed some new light on certain events from past games and hinted at future events.
