Jump Stars is a mostly enjoyable multiplayer party game with simple yet fun single-screen 2D platforming gameplay within a variety of stages. That being said, the dual nature of its premise will make most gamers scratch their heads.

Jump Stars is a nice, cheap diversion if you have a couple of friends to play with. Unlike almost every other game out there, you cannot play single player. There are also just a handful of game modes to choose from. It’s a party game you might come back to when the mood strikes. The fake game show announcer with dual personalities injects some, well, personality into the game, and the characters are amusing to play with. There’s not a ton of content, and multiplayer is required, but $9.99 ($7.99 for PlayStation Plus members) seems like a fair asking price for Jump Stars.

As far as party games with mad quiz show hosts go. Jump Stars is serviceable, but there's better out there. [Aug 2017, p.86]

A quiz game that does little to hold your attention after the initial impressions.

Instead I was left disappointed with a side order of dissatisfaction followed by a large cup of regret. The biggest downside for me is that there's no single player. You had to have at least 2 players to play this game, which makes it impossible given the current global pandemic means we can't have mates round to our houses. Ultimately this is one party game I won't be playing again. Expand
