The game shows “classic” (old) episodes and lets you play along on a separate device. When everything works, it works well.
The game forces you to use a separate device to ring in and answer questions. There doesn’t seem to be a way to just use a controller. I used my cellphone. You open the Playshow website and enter the 4-digit code on screen or you can scan an onscreen code with your device. The process is quick and works well, there’s no app to download.
Once you get into the game, the show plays out and lets you ring in to answer. When you ring in you can bring up a keyboard to type or use the microphone on your device and answer. Here’s where it gets very murky.
The voice recognition is spotty. About 30% of the answers I gave were not what showed up on screen. However, the game is very generous with the answers. This is an issue. There were times I gave the wrong answer and the game considered it correct. I also had the correct answer a several times and the game said it was wrong. About 5 times a game, I was told my correct answer was wrong.
The interface would also at times suddenly disconnect or I would be told my orientation was incorrect. There was no simple way to get back into the game. You had to close the game and restart it to get back into it.
The wager system needs to be cleaned up. The timer is way too short and you are unable to make a wager quick enough.
There are virtually no statistics kept other than games won, correct answers, contestants beat, and top contestant streak.
Overall, it’s a fun game if you like Jeopardy! Just be prepared to be frustrated with the voice recognition.… Expand
