    This is the first, and coincidentally, the best game that I have played on PS4 so far. Featuring amazing storyline, graphics, and countless hours of fun, this game is an incredible journey when playing with your partner.

    Best Co-op game I've ever played.

    We need more of couch co-op game like this one instead of online co-op. Hopefully they are making another masterpiece of couch co-op game because its very hard nowadays to find a couch co-op game (in the world of Playstation).

    This is a great game. The authors managed to create a game that is simple to play, but still never gets repetitive. The story is touching and it makes you care about the characters a lot. My girlfriend and I loved playing it.

    The absolute perfect game to play with someone who doesn’t game often. I played it with my girlfriend and we had a blast! The gameplay changes all the time, and the game manages to be challenging while being very forgiving. I really enjoyed this one, I hope more couch multiplayer titles come along!

    This is one of the most funnier video games that i ever played, the story is original and even beeing not the better part of the experience, is kinda interessing. The fact that this game is maded for playing with a friend makes him so original and had a very different gameplay form the majority of the games that are launched nowdays

    This was the most fun I've had while gaming in a while. The graphics & art are amazing, the gameplay is excellent and the story is decent enough. The little minigames in between also add a nice little distraction from the main story and add to the diversity of the gameplay. The only minus was the camera which sometimes can act a little sketchy, Other than that, absolute must-play.This was the most fun I've had while gaming in a while.     The best co-op game i have played i enjoy the concept of the story and the characters have great personality i enjoy playing this game every single time this is a piece of art! I love seeing the Swedish inspired house cause the game was made in Stockholm Sweden this game is worth buying.

    Sat down with my GF to play this game expecting the good old couch coop fun. And we kept getting surprised with how amazing this game is. It's new,    I said this once and I will say it again: Josef Fares is a genius. He just gets better, with every new game. Brothers was mind blowing and A way out an incredible surprise. Now, he takes the coop trademark even further with It takes two.

It's new, it's fresh, it's engaging; never boring, never repetitive, a feast of gorgeous visuals, funny dialogue and mechanics that never allow the game to get old.     With every new stage, world, every new secret and Easter egg discovered I was amazed by how creative this game is. It is a love letter to gaming, to nostalgia.     The variety of this game is incredible. They switch up mechanics around every corner, and you explore so many different environments. They really rely on the co-op mechanics. I had a wonderful time.

    One of the best if not the best Co-op games around. Every section has new gameplay gimmicks that are fun and engaging. The variety offered in this game is quite astounding really. The story can be divisive. I liked the back n forth between a divorcing couple AND I really enjoyed some of the darker elements of the story.

It's marketed as a co-op adventure, so any reviews that state it should have a single player mode is either a troll or someone who obviously can't comprehend the most simplest instructions. With that out of the way, this game is unbelievably good! I was very surprised and impressed by the variety of levels and gameplay this game delivered on a regular basis. I was constantly commenting how awesome this game is at every turn. If I had any gripe about this game, it would be the story. It deals with some serious issues about kids and how it effects them when their parents divorce. Now the story isn't bad, but its such a fun game that the story kind of brings you down a bit. But that's just me, you may have completely different feelings when you play it. Again, I was very impressed by this game and can't wait to play through it again with other friends that haven't experienced it yet!… Expand

    Do you like Coop Games ? Maybe even Couch Coop ? Do you like Pixar ? Maybe Toy Story ? Even if you don’t , maybe try this one. This is pure fun, lovely story and you gotta play as a team. Graphics and story, its all there, like going to the cinema and deciding how Toy Story is gonna end.

    Amazing co-op game! At first I kept seeing all the ads for the game and it didn't peak my interest, but I heard some people say good things about it. Convinced my friend to play it with me and we both loved it.

    One of the best co-op games in a long time.

    Creative levels with good dialogue with 0 repetition. The graphics are good, sound design is good, characters are good, the platforming mechanics are good. There's only 1 problem tho, the glitches. Sometimes stuff happen that make me unable to continue the game so I have to reload to the last checkpoint but still one of the best games ever and    If you have a partner, PLAY THIS GAME.

Amazing level design, fantastic gameplay mechanics and a very good story overall despite a somewhat abrupt disappointing ending. I was very surprised with how much this game has to offer in terms of content as I racked up roughly 15 hours on my first playthrough. A joy toA massive step up from A Way Out which was an impressive game itself but this takes it to another level altogether. Amazing level design, fantastic gameplay mechanics and a very good story overall despite a somewhat abrupt disappointing ending.     We had a blast playing this with my girlfriend. She is not a hardcore gamer and hasn't touched the controller for half a year since we last played Overcooked 2. It was easy for her to get the basics, and overall enjoyed the game a lot.
    The game itself is a masterpiece in my opinion. Graphics are great. Runs well on PS 4 Pro with no hiccups (sometimes the fan goes crazy).
    Gameplay wise -    We had a blast playing this with my girlfriend. She is not a hardcore gamer and hasn't touched the controller for half a year since we last played Overcooked 2. It was easy for her to get the basics, and overall enjoyed the game a lot.

    Gameplay wise - absolutely amazing. Level design is very good - no repetition with great and addictive gameplay. Collaboration is a key and we haven't had a case where one of us does all the things, while the other player feels left out. Both players are actively engaged in the gameplay.
    Story is not the main point of the game, it gets you going and you are pushing the game just to see the next beautifully crafted level instead of the story. There are some points in the dialog and story that makes you cringe but it is alright.
    We need more couch coop games like that. I would recommend it all the way.    … Expand

It borrows from very clear references such as Mario Kart, Mortal Kombat, Dance Dance Revolution and I could name a few more. The game just wonderfully transports you from set to set in rather seamless manner. In terms of platforming this game might be one of the tightest controlled platformers in recent memory. My character throughout this story (Cody) controller a bit like a Mario in Mario 64, with its tight jump, ground pound before jumping to get a higher jump, dashing then jumping to reach further, it all felt very comfortable while being fast and agile. Story wise, it’s cast of colourful anthropomorphic characters have great personalities (aside from Dr.Hakim but that was intentional) most voice acting is accompanied by great motion capture making the characters seem more alive and connected. In the end, this game is a must have! Hazelight studio really outdid themselves and their hard work and dedication finally paid off!… Expand

    Pretty outdated graphics, animation like it's 10 years old. However, I give a rating of 9 as an encouragement to the Creators for creating a forgotten type of game for two people on a console. I remind all creators that consoles support more than one controller and gained popularity thanks to the games for two players.

    The only real issue I have with this game is that the story is mostly (except that one part, you know the one) generic and un-memorable. Controls are fantastic, gameplay is fantastic, I recommend this game to just about everyone. A really great follow up to "A Way Out" that allows for new video game players to experience the magic that a lot of more serious players seek.

The only negatives I felt detracted from the game was the main narrative and the amount of unique abilities you could do at one time. Usually, you could only do one or two unique things. I think this was done to make the game more accessible but to me it made the gameplay less interesting. Also the narrative wasn't as interesting as the gameplay to me and felt very repetitive.     It takes two is a really nice game for two players with a surprisingly emotional story. But you need a second person with a not so little amount of skills, otherwise you will have a very hard time since it really does take two people to complete each and every challange. The game was lucky to win Game of the Year, 2021 had no real challengers otherwise it would never stand a chance.

    Platform estremamente vario e creativo, da giocare obbligatoriamente in due persone.
    Stile grafico originale e cartoonesco, controlli precisi e semplici da imparare.
    Longevo il giusto.
    Livello di difficoltà leggermente tarato verso il basso, il che permette di giocare anche con un compagno che non sia necessariamente esperto del genere.

The 2 main characters are monsters for that. Seriously. I hated the main characters after that, but honestly I didn't really like them before either.     It would be absolutely awesome... if you have a (girl/boy)friend who's at least as good with the controller as you. If he/she is a beginner, then it's not worth it, in fact this game is getting very frustrating very fast for people not used to 3d platforming :( I had to sell my copy so it wouldn't stare my and my girlfirend in our faces...

    Minus number two is gameplay. I'm not going to complain about the strict multiplayer, it's still more a game for couples than for typical gamers. But in video games it is accepted that it is easy to play at first, and then the game gradually becomes more difficult. Here this is in the beginning, and then the complexity does not change. Me and my girlfriend were just bored of playing the second half of the game.
    The rest of the game is very good.
    Some of the jokes are not bad, some are like cheap comedies with Sandler.
    I give it 7/10 because kids and casual couples should really like it.    … Expand

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. It Takes Two is a great coop game. One of the best designed puzzle/platformers I've ever played. The visuals are gorgeous, the variety is insane, the controls are pleasant and responsive, and every new area brings something new.

    At the same time the story is a huge weak link.

    The game centers around a husband and wife on the brink of divorce who are magically transformed into toys and have to navigate and world of magic and imagination, where toys come to life and squirrels wage a high-tech military campaign against wasps.

    The mini-stories that every new area is centered around are pretty great: they're fun, quirky and pretty out there in a good way. But the major plotline is, plainly, mediocre. First, the game does very little to make the characters even remotely likable. The man and the woman are in a toxic relationship, they shower each other with generic family-drama-style whiney complaints; the daughter character is hardly more than an equally generic sad face. There's no depth to the conflict, and there's very little reason to root for them. They look like people who, indeed, should not be together.

    The other story issue I have with the game are the sudden displays of cruelty and unceremonious violence in this otherwise quirky and funny world.

    The protagonists-turned-toys are shown in-universe as being able to constantly resurrect upon dying, and they're constantly subjected to being killed (including by each other) for laughs—note, they're also clearly shown to *not* be immune to pain. Characters (toys and even household objects, many of which are randomly alive in this world) are routinely hurt, mistreated and downright killed off. And while this may be viewed as an intentional attempt to demonstrate how these people grew cold and unempathetic over the course of their failed marriage and how this supposedly contrasts the mind of their innocent child, even if that was the idea, it doesn't work at all. The game paints a cutesy, brightly-colored, fairy-tale-like atmosphere, as if it's going to tell a Pixar-like tale of emotional growth, and scenes of cruelty feel downright tone-deaf against that backdrop.

    Me and my S.O. have been playing It Takes Two and enjoying the gameplay a lot, but the story bits have made us both uncomfortable more than once. We're not setting our expectations high for the conclusion.    … Expand

    A Way Out had at least an interesting plot twist. The game of the year, It Takes Two is the pinnacle of girlfriend gaming. Hadn't it been a split screen coop, the game would lay forgotten in 60/100 aggregated for its mediocrity.

    I can't wrap my head around why everyone loves this game so much. To me it represents an evolution of all of Hazelights' strengths and weaknesses from A Way Out with one exception - unlike A Way Out, It Takes Two is actually fairly good-looking and has some very well designed levels which wasn't the case with A Way Out. But being a better version of a terrible game is nothing to bragI can't wrap my head around why everyone loves this game so much. But being a better version of a terrible game is nothing to brag about.

    So the pros are back, the game constantly introduces new mechanics and is constantly changing - it never really allows itself to get boring. The cinematic moments are back and better than ever with some of them being so good that me and my co-op partner said "yooo that was awesome" out loud. Unfortunately all the cons from the past are also back and so much worse.

    While A Way Out's plot and characters were dull and boring the plot and characters in It Takes Two are aggressively bad and obnoxious. Considering this annoyingly lengthy game relies on a divorce storyline it's baffling how the writers managed to make two protagonists who could never, would never and should never have gotten married in the first place, let alone have a child. It's like they are an amalgamation of everything terrible you could have in a SO and the things they do show that they really don't care about their daughter, they just want to get out of the situation they are in, making the ending just laughable. Add to that a love guru who made me roll my eyes every time he was on screen and you really start to wonder " If they tried, could they make this any worse?" . The other problem is that once again Hazelights' game is a jack of all trades but a master of none. Almost all mechanics feel cheap and uninspired. There were a few that were fun but the vast majority just failed to impress.

    If it wasn't for the bonkers amount of different and well-designed levels, the few amazing cinematic moments and the few fun gameplay segments I would say this game is another dud. Instead I'll say that It Takes Two is a step in the right direction for Hazelight but a marathon run away from a genuinely good game. Please guys, fire all your writers and hire new ones. There's no way that you beat the bosses, even at a very early stage, when one of the players is inexperienced. To me that's a huge design flaw.     More like It Takes Years. It's very long and drags out so much that we got incredibly bored and were wishing it to be over.
    The four points are for the co-op missions, which are honestly very fun, and the environments are very pretty to look at, but the story drags so much. The reasons for their divorce were laughable.

    Hasta Brasil tiene una traducción propia, que es solo un país en el continente.

    No recomiendo el videojuego si quieres algo de single player, y obviamente tampoco por hacernos jugar en inglés o el español ibérico.

    It Takes Two takes the tried and true action/adventure-puzzler genre and turns it into possibly the most collaborative split-screen co-op game ever created. Coupled with the presented marital issues between the main characters that make for fantastic springboards to discuss with your own Player 2, It Takes Two will strongly resonate with just about anyone who picks up a controller. Although character development was a bit lacking and the story somewhat sluggish, these issues do not diminish the incredibly imaginative level design and supremely enjoyable boss battles. If you’re looking for a case study in co-op puzzle games that deserves to define the genre going forward, grab a partner and pick up It Takes Two.
