    Ion Fury is an incredibly fun old school FPS game. Using the build engine, which is now 25 years old, they've done a great job of creating a vibrant and colourful cyberpunk-esque future. Control and gunplay feel really smooth and the campaign is surprisingly long, without ever overstaying it's welcome. A nice throwback to the days when games weren't saddled with endless dlc, forcedIon Fury is an incredibly fun old school FPS game. Using the build engine, which is now 25 years old, they've done a great job of creating a vibrant and colourful cyberpunk-esque future. Control and gunplay feel really smooth and the campaign is surprisingly long, without ever overstaying it's welcome. A nice throwback to the days when games weren't saddled with endless dlc, forced multiplayer, hours of cutscenes and the developer's social agendas.

    Only minor complaints I have are the lack of enemy variety in the first half of the game, and 2 small types that are hard to hit and overused. But in many ways it feels like the real successor to Duke Nukem 3D.    … Expand

    Bought this game on all platforms, first enjoyed it on pc now the smooth ps4 version. basically the best of all console versions, this one is the smoothest in terms of framerate . about the game? we all know, its one hell of a ride. super enjoyable from start to finish. highly recommended.

    Easy a must play for old school fans of games like Duke Nukem. Like how can you not love this? Not to mention the atmosphere and music my god.

    Ion Fury is a decent retro FPS in the same style as classics such as Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior. It's fast-paced shooting in well-designed levels brimming with secrets while the main character makes "humorous" quips. There's nothing really wrong with it, other than the jokes not being that funny, and the game being a bit buggy when it comes to trophies. This Duke Nukem clone didn'tIon Fury is a decent retro FPS in the same style as classics such as Duke Nukem and Shadow Warrior. It's fast-paced shooting in well-designed levels brimming with secrets while the main character makes "humorous" quips. There's nothing really wrong with it, other than the jokes not being that funny, and the game being a bit buggy when it comes to trophies. This Duke Nukem clone didn't go much above enjoyable for me, which I chalk up to my standards for FPS games having changed in the past 2 decades. It comes down to personal preference though. If you love the aforementioned games, you should also like this. I was always more of a Hexen guy.

    A word of warning for those wanting to platinum this game. Create many save games in different slots, and watch out for enemies that get stuck in walls, and also the caterpillar enemies which sometimes don't get counted correctly.    … Expand

    This game has not been adjusted to run on console at all. They've just tried to adapt the PC Mouse controls to the controller and it fails big time. Controls are awkward and a concert reminder that you're playing on the wrong platform. Visually it's designed to look like a retro game but as someone who grew up playing this I have two games it really didn't give me that much nostalgia.

    La créativité, le soin du détail, les différents hommages, le gameplay, la musique, l'ambiance et le travail sur le 3D engine méritent toutes les louanges. En plus j'ai vu qu'un DLC était en préparation.

    Merci 3D realm de m'avoir fait revivre mes premiers émois sur Duke Nukem. J'ai adoré ce jeu, il est génial et parfaitement porté sur console. C'est le jeu de l'amour.

    PC is the way to go with this game, as there are secrets which are literally impossible to do on a controller, AND Maximum Fury is incredibly brutal on controller.

    On top of that, I really wish they would add a patch to let you enter cheats on console... even Duke Nukem 3D: 20th Anniversary World Tour has the ability to enable cheats. The only negative I can give is the control    PC is the way to go with this game, as there are secrets which are literally impossible to do on a controller, AND Maximum Fury is incredibly brutal on controller.

    This game is a homage to the old days of shooters and its obviously aimed at the oldies out there and it is a beautifully presented game that will make you feel 8 again

    Making do with clumsy PC controls will be a constant with ports until the sun dies so in the meantime lets celebrate what we have. Played thru this twice now, done some trophy clean up, and with a guide in hand its so fun to explore the depths of the levels and soak in all that 2.5D beauty. As a lifelong console gamer I never got the full breadth of PC style FPS’ so I relish this game’sMaking do with clumsy PC controls will be a constant with ports until the sun dies so in the meantime lets celebrate what we have. Played thru this twice now, done some trophy clean up, and with a guide in hand its so fun to explore the depths of the levels and soak in all that 2.5D beauty.     Ion Fury isn’t a bad game. In the conventional sense, it’s a very functional shooter reminiscent of the heady days of all the aforementioned titles, with that modern (albeit minimal) sprucing. But it’s so laden down with questionable and somewhat controversy-baiting humour that lets it down a tad.

    Ion Fury pays homage to something that is no longer welcome in modern gaming. Taken in with knowledge of the slurs and the -phobic, sexist comments, it recontextualizes what I saw and heard, and gives the content a misogynistic feel. Whilst I found Ion Fury to be enjoyable as an isolated piece of content, it’s impossible to ignore the context it’s in — as such, I find it hard to recommend.

    Despite some of the complaints I have, Ion Fury is still a fantastic game that can hopefully kick-start a resurgence in classic, FPS games.
