Most impressive though is how much fun Second Son is to play. With the variety of powers available, and the very good AI, this game is simply a blast and it's hard to ever put the controller down. In fact, Second Son only falls short in the lack of variety of enemies, and the somewhat strange story arc.

The story isn't bad, in fact, it's almost very good. Unfortunately, very likable and seemingly major character will be introduced and then almost completely discarded until the very end of the game without any explanation. This is a real shame since the interactions between Delsyn and his supporting cast are truly enjoyable and often humorous experiences, and it feels strange to suddenly not see certain characters for extended periods of time.

Overall, Second Son is a great game. It may be short, (only about 12 hours), but it offers a lot of replay value with alternate good and bad story lines. The karma system feels out of place and antiquated however, with there only being a few story centered good vs evil choices to make. The rest of the time, karma is simply awarded based on whether you kill your enemies or just subdue them.

This is a very good game but I would recommend renting over buying. Reason being that the game is relatively short, can be Platinumed in a little over a week, and there is no multiplayer component to speak of. The powers that you get are unique elements that you typically wouldn't think of, unlike the stereotypical/generic electric powers of the first 2 games.

The story is easy enough to follow. Nothing outlandish but not incredibly dull either. As far as character development, Delsin (the main character) is really the only one who undergoes significant change from beginning to end, which should be expected since the player can choose whether he becomes good or evil. The combat is smooth but somewhat repetitive. The boss fights are fun, though. Overall there are no glaring weaknesses in Second Son, but as I said it will be collecting dust on your shelf from lack of use just a few weeks after buying it. RENT!

Infamous: Second Son is a strong entry in the series and possibly one of the best games released yet on the PS4. Gameplay is top notch and the game is stunningly beautiful. The only issue a had was with a weak story and poor morality system.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Let's get started with what is ultimately not the most important part of a game: the graphics, facial animation, and particle effects in this game are beautiful. That goes without question. The environment is very realistic and is fun to play in.

Gameplay: Delsin's power sets are quite different that those used by Cole in the previous Infamous titles. He absorbs different powers from the environment depending on what is needed. Some provide added maneuverability and precision while others are fierce but don't help if you're trying to get around the city. Overall these powers are fun to use. Hit and run strategy is encouraged with the removal of the ability to take cover, and fighting while climbing (aiming while holding onto ledges and such) is discouraged by very high buildings and powers that allow you to ascend them easily. This does not detract much from gameplay however.

Open world: Sucker Punch got into open world design early on, and luckily for them it took off. People like having a lot of power, and a lot of space to let loose. However, a lot could be said about side mission integration. Shards can be found on the minimap after clearing a mean enemy base in certain districts, and after that the only reason to get 0% DUP presence is if you feel like being a completionist. This wasn't a problem in the first two Infamous Games since there were literally not enough missions to supply you with enough xp to unlock all the powers, you had to make and play their online levels as well if you really wanted everything, whereas I got almost all the powers on my evil playthrough while hardly clearing any districts.

Story: This story was significantly shorter than other Infamous games, and felt a little linear. Track down one conduit, get powers, track down another, get powers, track down another conduit, watch Reggie's very touching death scene that was actually really good, track down a conduit who is the head of the DUP, get powers in a boss fight, the end. The karma mechanic had little to no effect on the overall plot, which was disappointing.

Overall: If I had the option this review would be rated at 8.5. I love the series and it doesn't receive as much love as it ought to. However, second son doesn't quite live up to the outstanding experience that was the first two games. More karma and open world mission integration were needed, and the story was over and done faster than it needed to be. I love it, the only bad thing I can say is that I want more.

This game is a lot of fun and the gameplay is amazing. You will feel like you have super powers. The story has a couple strong points, but isn't amazing. At the end of the day it is a game, gameplay is king, and playing it is a blast.

I'll keep it short: Everything is perfect except the story isn't up to par with the first two (but it's still great), and the parkour isn't as solid as it was in the past (but this is remedied by incredible ability to fly around the city). 9/10.

My first good playthrough on normal was fun, smooth. Not very challenging. Second playthrough, evil on expert. Much better. The combat had more memorable moments. Its more challenging and the karmic differences become apparent. I enjoyed how on my second playthrough smoke was so much more fun to play. I found myself using completely different powers, flying from rooftop to rooftop, taking more strategic approaches, launching missiles springing from rooftop vents. Taking down towers from 3 blocks away and generally feeling like an evil badass. If you take it for what it is you can have a ton of fun, just don't expect a GTA killer.

While it's a solid 8, it could be higher. This is mainly due to the so-so story, repetitive objectives, and crude execution of the classic inFAMOUS morality questions of becoming good or evil. I'm guessing the developers didn't have enough time for variety of objectives or finer tuned morality leveling. What they did have time for, however, was excellently developed and implemented.

You begin the game as a small town trouble maker with no real abilities at all. After a series of events, a wreck in your town leave the conduits, or bio terrorist depending on who you ask, freed and running for their lives. You character comes into contact with one of them and through some sort of hocus pocus becomes a conduit himself. images6Now with the ability of Smoke you will start to have fun toying with the different ways to use it. This only leads to problems for the young…hero?

This leads me to the next part of this game. The Karma system. Doing good and bad things can effect the game in different ways. Good guys get certain abilities later while the baddies do the same but in images2different ways. For me, after running through both ways, I feel the good was a little easier to stay alive while the evil made it easier to kill large groups. There are SO MANY ways to gain or lose karma. Everything from killing drug dealers (evil) to healing hurt civilians (good, duh) The one thing this didn’t effect… much to my surprise, was the story line. While there were tiny differences ( If you want to know what they were then play the game) but not enough to really make the game worth playing through twice… unless you are hunting trophies. Otherwise, just 100% on the path you choose. You won’t miss much.

One of my favorite things about this game was the choice in powers and the variety of abilities within said powers. The was three main powers (and fourth once you beat the game) to choose from. There’s Smoke, that yo u start with, Neon, and video. They all hXkyQdU1ave their advantages but once i got neon and especially video, i never used smoke again… until they made me.The wings of video (see right) made it super easy to travel through the large map! Neon was great for long distance and was a huge help when it came to upping your karma levels!images(see blow) Concrete is the last power and is fun but not easy to use. Just have fun finding all the different ways to kill the DUP’s!

Another fun and innovative add-on to the game was the graffiti art that you could do. They let you choose good or evil and you had to turn images3the controller sideways, shake it like a spray paint can, and then aim it while holding the trigger. It was fun and for some reason, never got old!

Over all the game was good, not great, but good. The story keep me wanting to play more…which is why I beat it so quick… it really doesn’t take long to beat but there is plenty to do after to get 100%. If it sounds like fun to you then chances are you will love it and play it till your passed out still holding the controller, for a day or two.

    So lets review:

    Pros:
    Great story
    awesome powers
    fun game play

    cons:
No difference in story line from good to evil
    No online play

So overall it was good… let’s say 8/10

And as always, This is Steps

One does not really even need to talk about the graphics and design because looking at the game for just one minute will explain everything. It truly is the best looking game on PS4 with a stunning design of Seattle. The first real city in the Infamous series. The weakest and most disappointing part of the game is it's flawed story. After playing the game I came to realize that at no point did I care about any of the characters or the struggles they experienced. I also found the city to be a bit boring regardless of how beautifully designed it is. With repetitive mini games after the first five times of accomplishment and people who walk around and only "Gasp" at your powers, there really isn't a great amount of depth in the city as a character in itself. The story, however, isn't fleshed out. It's hard for me to ignore that it feels like they were working with a good story that just didn't get implemented perfectly into the core gameplay.

For what it's worth though, that's pretty much what the first two InFamous games were like. They were both fun, graphically spectacular, but the story was serviceable at best. This is no RPG. It's an action game and the story is a relative weakness, if not a moot point throughout much of the experience. It's a way to have some kind of purpose, however unreasonable or illogical, to get you from action A to action B.

It's the action that locks me in to all of the inFamous games and this one blew me away. The bigger the action, the better the graphics generally have to be. Second Sun shines on the PS4. It's gorgeous. The weather and particle effects show off the power of the PS4 in a way none of my other games do. Often it runs above 30FPS, making climing and exploring the city dolphin smooth.

I was hesitant to buy the game until it was on sale for $20. Now I'd pay full price for it. The inFamous series has always felt like one of the most under-exposed game franchises ever. I don't know but one person who has played any of them. If you enjoyed any of the other inFamous games, Second Son is a no brainer. It's a must-have for anyone who enjoyed the other games enough to complete them. It's intuitive, glitch-free (for me, absolutely), beautiful, exciting, and best of all, fun.

This game is excellent. I waited until it came out to grab a Ps4 and it certainly didn't disappoint. The only reason that it's a 9 is the story wasn't as good as the original InFamous and the amount of blast shards and audio logs was rather small. However the game as a whole is loads of fun with replayability to play as both good and bad.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Pure awesomeness this game manages to significantly change the Infamous formula and not for the bad. The upgrade to next gen has truly showed with the most realistic looking cut scenes known in video games, but the game relies less on cartoon style cut scenes but don't worry they are still there. The game is far more fast paced than its predecessors, and the cover system is no longer implemented and now is replaced with a dashing system which makes Delsin fly to roof tops to recover health, but the majority of enemies have powers of their own, and they will follow you. In this game there is 4 different powers smoke, neon, Video and Concrete all having their own specialised characteristics depending on your alignment, so a good character with neon could focus and slow down time and aim for weak spots to subdue them, or with evil alignment have increased speed and conjure up a deadly stasis bubble. Instead of Ionic powers in infamous 2 you have karmic streaks that are similar but are used differently and there is a different 1 for each power, they are area of effect and take out pretty much all enemies and are earned by gaining karma in small bits. There is now 5 karma levels on each side and are easier to go though. Infamous second son is a must buy for around $50 Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I never played Infamous 2 (although thanks to a friend i am aware of the canonical good ending), letting you know before hand. I did play infamous 1 though, and enjoyed the heck out of it. I had so much fun in the game's open world, choosing the villain's path in all of the game's though moral choices. I am glad to say Infamous: Second son is a worthy successor to Infamous (and it's sequel which i heard was also great).

The story takes place almost a decade after the second, following the death of Cole, along with many conduits being detained and thrown in jail. We play as Delsin Rowe, a regular young adult (or so he believes, who is the average representation of what adults think young people are like nowadays. Yes Delsin, along with many of the supporting characters who we meet along the way are cardboard cutout, two-dimensional stereotypes. It's not that huge of a problem though. Now, a conduit invades Delsin's lodge or something, and after touching his arm, Delsin learns that he has the conduit power of absorbing other powers. The conduit hunters come in, and their leader, Augustine, in a search for the truth of what happened, jacks up all Delsin's people with her rock powers. This leads Delsin on a quest for her powers so he can save his friends and family. It's a little underdeveloped for my tastes, but still delivers. The story is short yes, but with the two different endings that can be achieved, it makes you want to play the game twice. I of course went the villain path first, no hesitation.

The gameplay is more refined and entertaining as ever. It's the standard infamous first person shooting, but what's different here is the inclusion of FOUR different conduit powers to be unlocked and used in battle. I personally enjoyed the Neon powers, which felt like Cole's signature electric abilities. Each ability has it's own unique attacks and special attacks, they all feel different. Now the moral choices. They don't have as much impoact as infamous 1. Having played the game twice to get both endings, the game progresses the same way no matter what you pick. You don't get any special phone calls from allies, nothing. The only thing that is different is some of the powers you can unlock. Oh, and one more thing, the game looks beautiful, no doubt one of the best looking PS4 games currently.

Infamous Second son, while not as good as the first, is a worthy successor to it's two predecessors.

If you haven't played any other inFAMOUS games already, then this one is a great introduction to the genre and concept. I wasn't familiar with the series prior to this game and I found it very easy to understand and get into.

The game is extremely fun, and the combat mechanics are interesting and different from most games-- there isn't a lot of melee fighting and most skills are at range. The way the abilities are managed is fantastic, and exploring your new skills and receiving them is ridiculously addicting. Using them is pretty amazing too-- they feel intuitive and natural, even though it takes some getting used to.

The story is not the strongest, and the over-used Troy Baker is voicing yet another lead, but it is heartfelt and interesting and I can't really fault it. It is solid. The characters are likeable, even the lead, who can be annoying at times. The graphics are beautiful, with Seattle coming across even better than it really does. The content isn't huge, it will keep you immersed for a good week most probably (if you do side quests and such) but you could probably rush it in a few days.

I really enjoyed this game, and I missed leaving the inFAMOUS world when I was done. I wish they'd release some DLC or another stand-alone pack (there is one, but it somehow was less fun for me), perhaps from the point of view of another character, or even if the main from this game came back, that'd be awesome.

The game has numerous activities aside from the main story which are very fun to do. I usually only went to main-story missions after hours of side-quests.Fun!

The story is captivating and interesting as well. Following a very dinamic and funny character, the story is easily the best in the franchise if you ask me.

The main story playthrough is not that long, but it might as well count as half of the game, since it should be done in two playthroughs (good and evil). Because you mainly have different powers, activities, missions, etc, so the second time around it will probably be just as fun.

It's a great game from all aspects and I want to thank and congratulate Sucker Punch and Sony for what they've achieved. Amazing!

Immediately you start the game and are just in awe of how much detail was put into it. The water actually looks like water, the faces look every bit as impressive as Killzone Shadow Fall's (minus the horrible audio-lip sync issues that KZ:SF had) and good god...when you arrive at the destination you spend most of the game in (Hint: It's a Washington State city...)...don't even get me started on how cleverly the environmental elements are place and work with you. The particle effects...beautiful.

My ONLY complaint with the game: 3 separate occasions in the entire game (not too shabby) I watched civilians walk into walls and momentarily glitch. This type of thing takes away from the immersion, BUT it's not enough to take away from the game as a whole.

Delsin, unlike Cole, has a fantastic personality and sense of humor. While I appreciated Cole and had respect for the character, video games are about escape into the world the character are in. I'd compare the personalities of Cole and Delsin to that of Batman and Iron Man, respectively. Sure, I could be a hard-ass with the occasional one-liner...or I could have some fun being the immature brat with superpowers. Both have their place in video games and media in general, but I enjoyed how Delsin takes the situation he's in seriously while not taking HIMSELF too seriously.

I don't know how exactly to explain it...but this game feels...well, FUN. It's fun in a way many games aren't able to be. It creates scenarios where you can say "wait...I can climb up THAT?" or "Ha, I didn't know I could use that as an energy source!" or "Wow, I wasn't expecting that to happen!" In the same way some of the greatest games of the all time have done, Infamous Second Son challenges players to actually have fun at the same time as playing through the story. You're not saying "ugh, if I could just get past this one part...". You're saying "I liked the way that felt!".

Second Son is a harmonious melding of an intriguing story (especially when you take it to it's fullest potential with "Infamous Paper Trail") and entertaining gameplay. Maybe the plot isn't a highly cerebral one as is that of "Bioshock Infinite", but it doesn't have to be. It's a perfect balance that makes the world and it's characters come to life.

ISS borrows, smartly, from other successful games. If you enjoyed collecting items and completing missions off of the in-game map in Assassin's Creed (and I do), you will find more of it here in ISS. If you liked upgrading skills and searching for new ones, that's here too. Snappy control and marvelous graphics come together to give the player with these preferences lots to do.

I should also mention that the characters are very likeable, which surprises me a little. They seem a little more human than in any game I've played (probably due in part to the exceptional facial capture technology and excellent acting).

Also, the games looks absolutely outstanding.

Some reviewers have mentioned that the gameplay is repetitve after a while. They must be playing a different game because I've not seen this at all. In fact, I'm not sure what they're referring to exactly.

With this new protagonist, we players can relate much more to the inFamous universe. Very well done. The A.I. isn't as weak as the first two. Similar, but improved. Visually this game is stunning, the powers, the town, and the animations (especially the facial ones) are all incredible. Gameplay wise the controls are smooth and responsive and Sucker Punch actually did a decent job of making use of some of the dualshock controllers unique features without making it feel too gimmicky. The additon of "hipfire" makes the combat much more fluid and helps add movement and flow to the combat. And the powers do feel unique from each other and none of them are overpowered enough to make the others obsolete. However there are some things that keep this game from being any higher than a solid 8-8.5/10. First of all, the enemy AI occasionly bugs out at close range and just stops for a bit, nothing too bad and it will probably be patched later on but still kinda detracts from the action. Second, even halfway through the game and there is still only one enemy faction which does make the fights a bit stale but this somewhat countered by the relatively diverse number of enemies in this one faction. Third, the objectives do get somewhat repetitive when you're clearing the districts but this will only bother people who want to 100% the game. Overall one of (if not the best) game on PS4 at the moment and I would highly recommend it to series veterans (like myself) or to people new to franchise that are curious. And newcomers don't worry the previous games stories don't play a huge role in this game so you can get by with just a brief summary of the game's lore. Expand

I don't think Ive seen a game yet on next gen consoles that has this much fluidity when moving to the combat. It never stutters even when your taking on tons of people and destroying things at the same time it's consistently smooth through out. The powers are great only three of them were interesting and awesome to use. The obvious power your get at the end doesn't really compare to the other three IMO. AI is good and smart when it wants to be. Not saying the AI is bad but at times your notice the AI just sitting around trying to find you and you be somewhat close to them.
Its a good story, but not everyone will like it. It has its moments where it got interesting other times not so much. If your not trying to get all the extra stuff and want to get through the story you could beat it in about 10 to 12hours which isn't bad but could of been longer. Voice acting I will say is great and Troy Baker did a great job with his Delsin Rowe character.
There's enough replay value to keep on playing, but not as much as I would of liked it to be. If your like me trying to 100% on your first play-through with collectibles, side missions, and clearing each part of the map the replay value will start to shrink unless you sign up for the paper-trail which can give you more replay value. Overall this game is worth the purchase and you won't be disappointed with it.

InFamous Second Son is awesome, it's a bird with extra wings. That really knows how to fly. Sony has done a great job recreating Seattle and our protagonist Delsin Rowe, a nobody who has supernatural powers. I loved the presentation of the game. It was awesome.

Likely the Piss4's best chance at competing with Titanfall over there on the Xbone uno. Except that Titanfall is on PC now so **** the Xbone 1.
This is the Piss4's best available game. Even though it looked extremely stupid at first, it was surprisingly fun.

I know graphics don't mean everything, but I'm just putting it out there.
The story was good, a slight disappointment to say the least. The characters were quite forgettable to be honest except for Delsin and Reggie. The gameplay was smooth and the powers were interesting. However I feel Sucker Punch are starting to lose the rag with some super powers in the universe of Infamous they created. The likes of manipulation of video (although a good power to use in game) and the paper power springs to mind.

I:SS has been my most anticipated title for this generation so far, so I have tried to watch as little coverage as possible, and that really helped me enjoy the game more. I was familiar with what the first 2 powers were from seeing videos, but had no idea what the 3rd power was going to be. I was pleasantly surprised when I found out.

From a graphical standpoint this game easily outshines any other current generation game, PS4 or Xbone. The models themselves are fantastic. The reflections in the water from buildings, lights, etc. are beautiful. The framerate only dropped enough to be noticeable when pulling of the 3rd power sets ultimate move a couple different times, but not every time.

From a gameplay standpoint it's great. The way Delsin interacts with the environment, uses his abilities and upgrades his abilities all feel right. The AI is more intelligent than your typical AI. If you walk by a DUP squad and act normal, nothing happens, but if you use any of your powers they immediately get on the offensive, which makes sense.

Story-wise it was fairly good. Not the best, but up there. There were a few emotional spots that made me feel something at least, which most games fail at.

If you have a PS4 and don't have this title yet, get your @$$ to the store and buy it!!!

Cars and people fill the city quite well but could be better, I haven't seen ambulances or fire trucks. City size is quite large, definitely much larger than the city in Arkham City. And roaming it with your powers is amazing, the framerate feels so smooth.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I've finally got myself a PS4 and inFamous Second Son is obviously my first game on the new console, as I'm a fan of the series since the first installment. Since I'm a bit late for the party, I'll keep it to the point, in the pros-cons style.
    Strengths:
    - Graphics. They're awesome, the console generation leap is noticeable here.
    - Brothers. The only well-written aspect of the plot, Delsin and Reggie are kinda relatable and I could empathize with them.
    - Powers. They're original (really, there's no other game where you can control neon, or video, or concrete) and deadly and mostly useful, although lack of a simple grenade is a bit disappointing.
    Weaknesses:
    - Plot. The characters are mostly poorly written with little development. (For instance, you fight Fetch in one mission, BAM you're best friends in the next one, and BAM you bang her in the third one. Well, that was fast.) I hated Eugene in particular, he's a super-stereotyped nerd whom I hated and his boss fight was the worst designed one, all those angels and **** ugh.
    - Pacing. The storyline is very short and Seattle isn't very big, it took me around 16 hours to complete the game with ALL of the side missions, 100%. Besides, the last power, concrete, is given to you only in the last story mission, so you can't really use it anywhere but in clearing out the few remaining districts.
    - Karma. As before, here you don't get to choose between good and evil during your playthrough, but BEFORE it, as opposite karma-based missions are actually locked out this time. So even though I, whilst playing hero, was really mad at Augustine, I just couldn't choose the option to kill her. I'll do an infamous playthrough for that, of course, but still.
    - Continuation. Or the lack of it. I mean, there is little to no connection to the events of the first two parts, except for some lame paid DLC, this is ridiculous. As a fan of the series, I'm disappointed.
To sum up, SS mostly keeps up with its predecessors, the gameplay and graphics are stellar, but the plot and pacing have their issues. Not a system-seller, but definitely should be on your list when you've got the PS4.

Right of the bat inFamous: Second Son is gorgeous. Considering the quality of the character models and how far graphics progressed on the PS3 and XBOX 360 it's safe to say that consoles are of to a great start.

The game was available at the launch of PS4 and in many aspects it seem to serve as sort a tech demo. It features a lot of cool new... uh... features. It extensively integrates the speaker on the controller, the touchpad and in some elements you get to turn the controller sideways and use it as an improvised spray can. Luckily most of these doesn't seem awfully contrived or forced and just give an extra layer of interaction.

The story in itself isn't groundbreaking and nor is the narrative. For those who have played other sandbox games it's actually a little bit too familiar. Just like Prototype and nearly all of the recent Spider-Man games it's an open world cityscape being occupied by an invading or peace-keeping force. It's generic but inFamous manages to keep it's ideas fresh at least. Especially the powers at hand feel like a step-up from the bland mechanics of other games in the genre. However, and I may be nitpicking, they do feel like they're forcibly rewritten. The first powers you get are called smoke but the effects involved seems awfully fire-like. The main antagonist is sporting a concrete power. Here concrete just seems like some attempt at making an earth-like power without naming it so. But then we have the colorful neon and video powers making up for it all.

There's also a lack of real defense mechanism in the game. You main key to survival is positioning, movement and having good enough aim to take down enemies before they take down you. Considering the game doesn't provide you with the most obvious indicators of incoming attacks there's a fair bit of trial and error. At least the first time around. My second play-through felt a lot easier once I gotten the hang of all the different encounters.

Basically, once you get the hang of the combat it's all down to you. It may be frustrating at times to be overrun by enemies without any proper ways to counter the barrage of attacks. Too many games to day just let you press Counter or Block and be done with it. But my immediate impression is that most of the time you're not really fighting a boss battle but rather trying to battle the game mechanics. The Arkham-franchise may be overly simplistic but it sure makes you feel like The Dark Knight making short work of villains. Not saying there's not moments where you feel powerful but it feels a bit degrading being forced to cover through boss fights or having to repeat large sections of a boss fight when you fail right at the finish line because you got a bit too eager or accidentally hit an obstacle on your way to cover.

Still, for all it's worth, inFamous: Second Son is a good game. It's fun to explore and toy with your powers, despite it's formulaic approach it's rescued by it's integrity. It's a solid production, great voice acting and interesting characters. It would have been fun to see a bit more though and some serious attempts at breaking the status quo regarding superhero sandbox games. Until we get to see some truly innovative takes on superheroes in games inFamous: Second Son is probably the best we get.

One day, you get smoke powers, and it becomes your responsibility to save your tribe from dying at the hands of Augustine's concrete daggers. The story is essentially you getting new powers to help you fight Augustine, and I enjoyed it. The story is well told through cut-scenes and dialogue through your phone. I thought the voice acting was great, especially from Troy Baker who voices Delsin. The writing was also really good with good dialogue going on between Delsin and his brother as well as with the other characters you meet along the way. I also thought the villain was a real b**ch (which is a good thing). The only problem I have with the story is that it was short. On normal difficulty, you can beat the story good or evil in about 12 hours, which is disappointing compared to the previous inFamous games. But overall, I still really enjoyed the story. 9/10

    Gameplay:
inFamous: Second Son is an action adventure game where you'll be getting and using new super as you play. There are 4 in total and all of them are fun to use. I won't spoil the 2 powers you get later, but I can say that Neon is one of my favorite powers to use as a hero. What's also great about all the powers is the way you travel around the decent sized Seattle. With smoke, you can dash forward or through air vents to get to rooftops faster, with neon you could run at fast speeds through the streets or up walls, with the 3rd power, you could glide far distances and use satellite dishes to boost your distance, and for the last power, you turn into a "running tank" basically. Each power has their own unique sets of upgrades, and switching between them is as easy as pressing on the touchpad when you're near a power source. In the fictional Seattle, you'll also be liberating all the districts from the D.U.P. (evil corporation). So you'll be eliminating D.U.P. headquarters, destroying spy drones, hidden cameras, secret agents, spray painting walls (with some clever art using the Dualshock 4's motion controls), and eventually, you'll perform a district showdown on one of their propaganda billboards. Going for 100% completion isn't hard, and getting all trophies isn't hard either. There's also a karma system where you can choose to be a hero or a villain. Both sides offer exclusive upgrades to your powers, exclusive missions, different dialogues, and different endings so there's some good reasons to replay the story and do the opposite side. Doing ALL of this should take about 20-24 hours to complete. However, the A.I. in this game isn't the smartest. I counted 8 different enemy types in the game, and the game mixes them up to try to make each fight feel different and challenging. If you're playing on expert difficulty, or if you suck at the game, you might feel overwhelmed and have to retreat to recharge health and return to the fight. Overall, the gameplay is better than the previous 2 inFamous games in my opinion. 9/10

    Graphics:
This is not only the best looking PS4 game out right now, but is also one of the best looking games on consoles now. The graphics look absolutely stunning due to great lighting, character models, particle effects, and map design. Another thing is that during my playthroughs, my game stayed running at 60fps with rarely any frame rate drops. THIS HOW A NEXT GEN GAME SHOULD LOOK (Titanfall). 10/10

    Sound:
The gun shots from your enemies sound great, but nothing special. The sound your powers make when using them, or recharging them is great. The games soundtrack is great, but nothing stands out other than the music that plays when you're spraying walls and that awesome Nirvana cover theme. 8/10

    Multiplayer:
There is none, and I'm disappointed that the user-generated missions that were in inFamous 2 were removed. No score.

    Overall:
This is the PS4's 1st must have game. Great story, gameplay, gorgeous graphics, and great sound designs are my reasons for picking up this game. But, because of its short amount of content, I don't think this game is worth picking up a PS4 just to play it. But, if you already have a PS4, then get this game. Verdict: 9/10

The only downside with this game is that the main story is pretty short, but they have compensated it with the bonus mission paper trail and probably coming DLC's for the game which will probably increase the duration of the game.
The paper trail is a bit complexed in the beginning since you need to use your computer for the tasks. But when you understand it, it is pretty fun to play the paper trail missions.

The series has given players a chose in their own morality; something no superhero game has done before. Instead of playing the role of the typical good guy, the player can choose how to handle every situation. Most superhero games have leaned over the subject and simply focused on the players having fun, all power, no responsibility. Infamous never grazed over that. Every action the player takes will have backlash. This hasn’t changed in Infamous Second Son.

Set seven years after Infamous 2, Second Son follows a new protagonist, Delsin Rowe. Living as a carefree graffiti artist, Delsin constantly gets into mischief as he tries to spread his art to the world much to the annoyance of his brother, Reggie, a state police officer. One day, the brother’s lives take a turn for the worst as a truck containing three conduits crash near their Akomish tribe. In this moment, Delsin comes into contact with a conduit and discovers he can siphon their powers to use as his own. This sets Delsin apart from the series’ previous protagonist, Cole, in a big way: Delsin gains new powers as the game progresses and is not limited to one. Within this opening moment, Delsin is also hit with a bombshell of a choice involving the people in his life. The choice is left up to the player and determines Delsin’s path to becoming a hero or a villain, creating the backbone for the story to come.

After this, the game transitions into the same game fans are familiar with. As Delsin steps further down his path, he will encounter the likes of different conduits, gaining new abilities. The further you get within the game, the more of a weapon wheel Delsin becomes. From various powers such as smoke and neon, the powers are unique and very creative. I would’ve never thought smoke could be used so effective until Delsin has it within his grasp. When Delsin phases into a cloud of smoke and passes through a ground vent leading to the roof of a building, gaining a sniping advantage at the D.U.P.s below, you feel powerful, you feel in control. All of the powers are fun to use and have their own unique play style, from the smoke’s shotgun like blasts to the neon’s super speed.

You are limited to one power at a time, however. You can swap powers by draining from an appropriate source, such as a smoke stalk or a neon sign. This can prove annoying in the heat of battle since some sources are more common than others. There will be times where you want to keep sniping them with smoke pellets but have to swap to neon since there are no smoke stalks close to the action. This will come to a more common effect later in the game when more abilities open up to the player.

The combat is still as fun as ever. Delsin controls the chaos with his wide variety of attacks and movements. Chaining together smoke grenades that stun the enemies, while quickly dashing into a vent for an aerial comet drop is as satisfying as ever. Conflicts also showcase high levels of environment destruction. If a sniper is making you feel anxious during conflict, you can quickly send a rocket hurtling towards their tower and watch as their perch crashes down onto his allies. Car’s explode, D.U.P. walls crash around them, bodies ragdoll, and ash flows through the air with beautiful particle effects. This is the battlefields that take place within Seattle, all without a single hiccup in the frame rate.

Sucker Punch succeeds once again at creating a beautiful world to explore in. Seattle is full of life as you run around the occupied city. Neon signs reflect of the wet streets and rain drops leave ripples as they land on puddles. Each building has high qualities of detail and creates excellent points of view. There are several times during a play through where you can stop in awe as the sun touches the city in a beautifully rendered sunrise.

The story clicks as Delsin attempts to weaken the DUP and the action is fun and engaging, but Infamous Second Son isn’t without flaws.

The missions outside of the main campaign are small and varied. These missions range from destroying DUP mobile units, destroying cameras, uncovering secret agents, spraying buildings with graffiti, and finding audio files. All of these missions can be completed within minutes, even seconds, and are fully displayed on the map. With the lack of variety in missions, side activities felt repetitive quickly and leaves the experience feeling empty overall. The plus side to completing these missions however is more shards as well as new vests for Delsin to wear. More shards lead to new upgrade paths, leading to a more powerful Delsin.

Another issue I had with the side activities were the lack of karma based missions as the previous games had. The karma missions in the previous games were unique and always different than the next, some of the best missions within the game. With such a strong experience, it’s surprising not to see such a big part returning to Second Son. This wouldn’t be such a big flaw if the karma choses within the story weren’t lacking as well. There is only a few throughout the campaign, leaving fans of the mortality system with a hollow experience. All of the karma is mostly based off your actions within Seattle such as stopping drug deals and silencing activists. Karma is still a big role but doesn’t fill the shoes that Infamous 2 established before it.

Overall, Infamous Second Son is still the same game you’ve enjoyed in the last generation. It’s still fun to explore the city and fight dastardly villains, but its lack of variety in karma and side activities leave players wanting more in their experience. Its presentation is excellent, its gameplay is fun and unique, and its story is engaging. Infamous Second Son is a game that shouldn’t be left out in any PS4 owner’s library.

inFamous: Second Son is a true demonstration of the power of the Playstation 4. The game looks amazing, and the gameplay is fluid. The story is intriguing, yet the side missions feel repetitive. The choice system involving good/evil is never fully expressed, either. Cole's Legacy is a nice diversion, although somewhat pointless. Finally, the Paper Trail dlc is just downright terrible.

I have been anticipating this game ever since it was announced. Is it a great game? Yes. But it doesn't live up to the previous games. In my opinion InFamous is the best in the series. The order goes InFamous, InFamous 2, InFamous Second Son.

I have been anticipating this game ever since it was announced. Is it a great game? Yes. But it doesn't live up to the previous games. In my opinion InFamous is the best in the series. The order goes InFamous, InFamous 2, InFamous Second Son.

    Graphics: 7/10

Right off the bat, InFamous Second Son looks great. It is certainly not the best the game on PS4, but it does look nice. The cutscenes look amazing and everything runs at a smooth pace; however, I am disappointed that the game gave up its comic book look. The effects look nice and lip synching is mostly on. Graphically the game is great, but not astounding.

    Story: 6/10

Here is where InFamous Second Sons falters the most. In InFamous and InFamous 2, humanity was at stake. In InFamous Second Son only a small group of people were really at stake. It kind of beats you over the head with the whole "equality message" to the point of being annoying. I really enjoyed the more human elements of the story and Delsin is a great protagonist. He is funny, witty, and very likable. Delsin kind of reminds me of Deadpool. His brother is caring and has a strong sense of justice. The villain is a cartoonishly evil women, but at the end they paint her in a more sympathetic light. I cared about Delsin and his quest to save his tribe, but little else. This, however, led me to dread playing the evil version. Playing the evil version always leaves a bad taste in my mouth. However, aside from a few cases of who lives and who dies, there is really no difference in the story. It seems like Sucker Punch didn't want to do an evil version, but were stuck with it. Delsin just becomes unlikable. If you choose not to play through the evil version, no one will blame you.

    Side Activities: 7/10

I was sorely disappointed in the side mission, because there are none. In InFamous, you expanded your zone of control by doing a number of side missions. Collectables now run the show. However, collectables are still fun. My favorite is the spray painting one. It is creative and fun. I always wanted to do them and completed them, even if I didn't need to. Most side activities won't keep you unless you are a completionist which I am.

    Gameplay: 9/10

This is where the game shines the brightest. It has taken the gameplay of the previous games and innovated them. Smoke is the most similar to lighting of previous games. Neon is my favorite, it is like an up close sniper rifle and lets you move really fast, which is really handy for collectables. Video was disappointing and rarely used it. It uses a semi-automatic stream of projectiles, and it allows you to glide up buildings and in the air. Concrete was also fun, but you get it at the end, so you rarely use it. Concrete is like a machine gun and allows powerful movement, but limites jumping capability. The variety of powers is extremely fun and keeps you hunting for shards to increase your power. The melee has improved, but feels light and floaty. If there are future InFamous games, I hope with see more of Delsin and more varieties of power.

    Final Verdict: 8.5/10

I have recently adopted a .5 scale, except for a few circumstances. I wasn't sure if I wanted to give it a 9/10 or an 8/10. An 8 felt low, but I wasn't sure if the game deserves a 9/10. In the end I decided that if I had to struggle to give a game a 9, then it doesn't deserve a 9. The final verdict is an 8/10. It is great and a must own for PS4 owners. However, I still say InFamous is the best in the series. This game proves story does matter. I know I sound disappointed, but I had a great time while playing it.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Suckerpunch has created a damn good game. There are some serious moments, one that almost mad me cry, and that part where you can either kill ore spare Hank, really brought me into tears. And the vocal performances don't hurt either. The truly shows of what the PS4 can do and it has a superb combat system, one that emphasizes movement over cover. I might have a few gripes though: the story was over really quickly and the game didn't do enough with the touchpad but still thumps up for SuckerPunch. Expand

So the long wait for triple A exclusives is over... Hard to believe it's been nearly half a year since the ps4 graced our homes...six months without anything truly great...or have we? That depends on your perspective.
Killzone shadowfall is undoubtedly the best looking game on any console but suffers from lackluster campaign and a mediocre multiplayer, drive club was held back and this left us at the mercy of generic multiplatform titles and indie games.

But I digress, today we're talking about INFAMOUS SECOND SON, a game many have been looking forward to for so many reasons.
The third installment of the infamous story fast forwards us several years into Delsin Rowe, a petty criminal living in a tribal community with his newly appointed sheriff brother. Delsin becomes unwittingly embroiled into events when a convoy carrying bio terrorists is sabotaged. Cue events which leads him and his brother to a glorious looking Seattle to find a 'cure' to help the tribe and uncover a truth he never went looking for.
so was it worth the hype?
    Firstly, how does it look...
Seattle looks fantastic, it's not exactly street for street accurate but the landmarks like the space needle are there and it's about as big as New Marais in infamous 2.
There is no dynamic weather or time but that's not to say you won't see Seattle at night or in the rain. Suckerpunch have cleverly combined the time of day to coincide with Delsin's powers. I won't spoil too much but one power sees you harnessing neon, night falls and you feed off neon energy by draining signs over town. Combined with the rain it adds a fantastic little touch when it reflects off the rain soaked ground.

This time you have several sets of powers, each set is upgradable by collecting shards. This adds a nice touch but people who strictly follow the main story will miss out as you can only enjoy one set of powers at a time and it's not a choice, so enjoy, do side quests etc and really play about with your powers.
The karma system is back, good or evil, I'm playing evil right now with five stages.. From thug to infamous with each stage unlocking perks to your upgrades but also has exclusive powers depending on which side of the coin you flip... For instance, being evil will unlock a certain perk like an execution move which isn't available if playing as a good boy but dont fret, good karma has its own set to enjoy.
The missions so far have been anything other then average. Good here, kill this, destroy that. Which is pretty meh and I expected more. Whilst there are plenty of side quests I feel they could of made the main quests a bit more substantial. Every mission has been played outside, unlike gta v which puts you in the odd building or whisks you to another part of the map previously inaccessible on free mode.
It's a fun game and it's story isn't anything too exciting but enough to keep people playing. In respects, it's like an upgraded version of infamous 2. The phrase 'if it isn't broke, why fix it' leaps to mind
And yeah, it wasn't exactly broke but it did require upgrading. I feel it only made a graphical leap and not the leap I expected from say GTA IV to GTA V. It's enjoyable, the characters are warm and funny at times and it has plenty to do but it's a tad repetitive and has me looking forward to my next set of powers just to keep me interested.

If you enjoyed infamous 2,you'll easily enjoy this but don't expect anything too different except the story and your powers. It's still an open world game which truly lives up to the phrase 'open world'

For me, I've played games with strong characters and storylines such as The Last of Us and GTA V but I have to say this game has one of the strongest storylines and the characters are believable, especially the relationship between Delsin and Reggie, and Delsin and Augustine. As for the graphics, every movement seems to make sense, facial expressions seem in sync with the voices. Love this game. The story kept my attention. Using the various powers to travel around Seattle did not feel like a chore. The fighting was rarely repetitive. Overall it is just a fun game to play and I am trying to finish the Evil Karma version to get the Platinum Trophy. I rarely do story modes twice but this was is still fun the second time around.

The graphics are amazing but not only does this game look good it plays excellently. I never experienced a frame rate hiccup nor any graphics popping in and with the speed at which i was moving between rooftops around the city this is nothing to be taken lightly. The power effects also had me slack jawed every time I pushed circle i got excited to see everything that was going to happen. My personal favorite was the neon power where there was a trail behind you as you were sprinting.

I enjoyed the story although it left a bit to be desired and was extremely predictable there was only one scene that caught me off guard that i will not spoil here but the rest of the ending i saw coming from a mile away.
