The devs for this game are wonderful. They hold regular discussions on reddit where they post updates and take questions. They are updating content weekly and always updating and tweaking the games balance. Twice I've contacted the devs and they are always responsive. I had a time-gate somehow close as soon as opened it. I sent a message through the in game browser, and they got back to me the next morning and re-opened it, no questions asked. In hindsight, I may have accidentally held the button to close it instead of start the adventure. I'm not sure, but they didn't ask they just resolved it.

The game itself is great, but in order to idle, the game has to be running like it does on the PC. The problem with that is, the PS4 can't multi task so it takes forefront. You gain gold offline, but it's negligible. The game is designed for the PC and to be running in the background, in which you can level up and idle whenever you want. So I can't say it's a true idle game for the console, but it is free.

This game does not resemble that, however, there is plenty of lip service for fans through the detailed characterisation of the characters and in its own right, as an idle/clicker game, is a real contender for the best of its game genre.

The game is also imbued with fantastically thought out gameplay properties whereby it can be played as deeply or as lightly as suits the player.

This is very clever as the developers have enabled it to be perfectly playable at a linear functional level or at a far more involved one whereby the player can access a deeper experience through tweaking and tuning the almost endless permutations of the game’s intricate gameplay mechanisms.
I have been playing this for a couple of years now, and the constant introduction of new content has kept it fresh and engaging. Another great element is that this is not a pay to win, persistence and commitment affords one a great time, without necessarily paying for success. This is very generous on the part of the developers, and as such I highly recommend that some purchase, however small, should be made to enable the continuation of this game to be made.

It's not perfect, I personally would have liked less cartoonisation to therefore reflect a dark experience, buy taking this approach it is more inclusive for younger players too. In short, Idle Champions is a highly recommended 9/10 game.
