Playing with your friends or even against the computer on standard or lower difficulty makes for a fun tennis game. The problem with the game befalls anyone that wants to complete the entire game at the highest of difficulties, and that's where the game definitely shows its age and reminds us of how bad AI and difficulty were in the PlayStation 2 era. If you're planning to play this game just casually with friends, it's worth the buy, but if you're going at it solo for completion or trophy hunting, I cannot in good conscience recommend this PS2 classic. On a scale of 10, I'd give it a 9 if we were rating it on a frustration scale. The difficulty of the computer goes from manageable to nearly impossible at the drop of a hat. There were many times against the higher difficulty AI where I'd be up five games to nil in a best of six competition, just to lose over and over until they would literally get seven games on me in a row to where I couldn't even hit a serve back to them, or they would return the ball in an area that's impossible to get. This type of AI isn't just archaic, but also incredibly unfair, especially for trophy hunters. To make matters worse, it doesn't even have a Platinum, making the frustration to get 100% on it ultimately pointless. I'm not exaggerating when I say that I had an easier time completing Super Meat Boy than getting through the challenge mode on this garbage game of yesteryear. For casual gamers, check it out and play it with your friends. It actually can be a lot of fun, even though the controls feel very dated, even with full use of the DualShock analog controls. For completionists, I say skip this. It's definitely not worth the annoyance from getting little return for your buck.… Expand
