    this game is awesome! it's beautiful, fun to play, original...i can't remind when an original game (not a sequel) was great in all the ways that this one...
    Those who gave 0 to this game, i am sure they haven't play it, and even they don't have a PS4...

    I just love this game! Spent 5+ hours in this beautiful world and can't get enough. Honestly, don't trust the people who rate it 0 - those are not genuine ratings. The world is massive, the combat and dynamics great. For me personally, the best PS game since The Last Of Us.

    Soundtrack: Incredible. One of the best ever. Going to listen to it while studying/working. Gameplay: Engaging and FUN! Combat is one of the best I've played in an RPG. Story: I want more! Graphics: A technological masterpiece with a few visual bugs here and there that don't impact the experience and immersion. Voice acting: Pretty terrible at times.     Avaliar este jogo com uma nota menor que 10 é até falta de consideração com os produtores. Nunca vi nada parecido em termos de qualidade. Se preocuparam com detalhes mínimos. Nao percebi as falhas técnicas relatadas por alguns como queda dos frames. História envolvente, jogabilidade fluida, criatividade, beleza e qualidade técnica impecáveis. Título obrigatório para os amantes de RPG.

The leveling up system and point distribution is just right, not overbearing and not lacking. The combat mechanics are solid and tactics are easily used.     Open world... What can I say? This game is better than The Elder Scrolls VI: Skyrim, Fallout 4, Uncharted 4, Assassin's Creed Syndicate, Grand Theft Auto V, Far Cry Primal, etc... If you make an open world, it's awesome to do it like this - filled with engaging side quests, cool collectibles and a land that keeps you wondering what's behind the next hill!

    Incredible game with some of the best graphics I've ever seen. On a 4K tv this is just mind blowing. The story is super intriguing and the gameplay is slick and feels amazing. Anyone who gives this less than a 9 is either crazy or a troll. Seriously! Incredible. If you own a PS4 you need to play this.

    Absolutely beautiful game. I'm several hours in. Stunning visuals, fun and smooth gameplay, great story so far, awesome movies weaved in, and no bugs yet. One of the best stories so far that I've seen since the first few Assassin's Creed games. Absolutely a MUST PLAY RPG.

I noticed that there were a ton of users giving this game a 0 score and, upon reading those reviews, I noticed that nearly every single one of the reviews was complete garbage--people badmouthing open world games, people criticizing the great gameplay, people complaining about the types of missions in the game...and the list goes on...

    Anyway, these fabricated false reviews compelled me to review the game accurately, so that it's true worth is being correctly communicated to gamers interested in giving it a try!

    Overall, it's an incredible game with a great story, a huge open world, awesome gameplay, and beautiful graphics! If you're a fan of those things, then definitely give it a try--I doubt you'll have any/many complaints about Horizon Zero Dawn!    … Expand

    Awesome game, one of the best ps4 exclusives, if not the best. the graphics and visuals are astonishing, the story is very intriguing. Just the intro makes you attached to the main character. a must buy for ps4 owners. butthurt xbox fans keep hating and rate 0 so you might feel a little better.

    Pra quem curtiu The Witcher 3 e tava com saudades de um bom jogo de mundo aberto em um estilo parecido, Horizon é um jogo indispensãvel. O jogo pegou mecânicas interessantes de alguns outros jogos, adicionou vários elementos próprios e o resultado é um jogo que com certeza entra pra lista de um dos possíveis GOTYs de 2017.

    This game is awesome the story is great and the side missions will keep you playing this game for hours the graphics are also great and i think guerilla did an an awesome job with this game and that it is going to be one of the best games of 2017.I definately recommend it to everyone and especially if you already have a ps4 this is a must buy for your collection

    The best game of 2017! Really innovative design and story, great characters and incredibly enjoyable gameplay. Graphics and sound design is equally awesome too. A must buy!
    I'd pitch it as like Skyrim and Fallout 3 merged together, with the creases ironed out.

    But I decided to give this game another chance, so I recently bought the "complete edition" and am currently playing through it at the moment.
    And oh wow, what an amazing experience! I have been playing it nonstop for several days, and I'm having a real hard time putting the game down - it's very addictive!

    If you played games like the recent Tomb Raider games, and FarCry Primal, this game will feel very familiar - you certainly see where they took several of their ideas from, sometimes to the point of almost being copy & paste.
    But I don't mind, as those are some of my favorite games on the Ps4 - especially FarCry Primal.

    What really stands out to me in this game, are the fantastic enemy encounters you'll have with the games creature-like machines. You'll encounter anything from Horse-like creatures, to Raptors, elephants and even a gigantic T-Rex!
    These fights encourages lots of strategy, because some of them are VERY tough to best. They will charge at you, shoot at you, and even borrow under ground to launch an upward attack - it's all very impressive.
    I can't remember the last time combat in a game was this engaging.

    I also have to mention the visuals. Just wow, is the first word that comes to mind! Lots of effects, lush environments, and great character models. Aloy look really great, with her thick, beautiful hair blowing in the wind as you run through the open environment.

    Of course, not matter how fantastic a game is, it's never without minor flaws.
    And one that instantly comes to mind is a somewhat confusing gear-upgrade system. I feel like I never truly get the hang of it. It should have drawn it's inspiration from games like Fallout 4 for instance, as I loved the way you upgraded your guns and armor in the game - very intuitive.

    The climbing can also feel a bit finicky sometimes, and isn't as good and intuitive as games like reboot Tomb Raider for instance.

    These are very minor complaints mind you, and the game is a truly amazing experience. One of the absolute best games on the Ps4, and even one of the best of the last generation Imo.

    It gets a 9,5 score from me, with the title of "highly recommended"!    … Expand

    This is a perfect example of a game made by people who were passionate about making it. When you play the game you can just see how much heart was put into this game. Sadly may developers these days make games without caring, they simply do it to get paid. But this game was made by a group of people who really care about what they're making and it just shows.

    This is a true AAA title on PS4. Fantastic acting and story, deep plot and quests. I read some negative tripe about Feminism and whatnot in other reviews but these are the autistic screechings of those so hypocritical they can't see they're just shedding crocodile tears.
    Truly a wonderful game full of fun.

    Just finished the game today. Easily one of the best games I've ever played.
    My only gripe was the potion management and thats just from a lack of buttons on the PS4. Everything else about this game was just that good. Can not recommend it enough.

    The game's strongest point is the story, i love the way you uncover all the pieces of it and the magnitude of it in the world they created, very chilling. The gameplay is very entertaining and fluid, the only low point of it are the melee attack with the spear, they don't really register i found.     This game is a masterpiece. It is well-polished, has a great story and is without a doubt, the most beautiful looking game on the PS4! It's sad how xbots, pc, and nintendo fanboys will give this game a zero just to lower the overall user score. If you have a PS4, this is a must-buy. You will not be disappointed.

Far from this, Horizon Zero Dawn is a very polished game, with deep personality, one of the best OST out of there and technically almost perfect.

The facial animations seem to have taken the style of L.A.     The secondary characters could have better animations.

    Besides, all the other sections of the game are excellent, voice acting, graphics, the story omg i loved it.

    The game is very well optimized, almost always played at 30 fps.

    I only had one bug, it was during the first cinematic, however it was not serious

    From the moment the game started I was mesmerized, the beauty, the story telling and how well they explain the movements etc of the game. I'm not at all an RPG gamer, I dislike it, but for this game it's different. I think Guerilla games did a very well job with this and it deserves it's credits! I really enjoy the game and the details are stunning, i'm hooked. 10/10 it's definitely a must buy!

    Hands down one of the very best games i have ever played. Combat feel very statisfying, graphics are absolutely stunning even on my standard ps4 and steady framerate in addition to that, no idea how they managed to do that. And the story is very interesting to me at least. I just wish there were more quests, other then that i really cant complain.     Great animations , physics, game-play , new ideas , story , memorable characters and awesome STABLE FPS with maybe around 00.3 % of bugs and glitches.

    This is one of the finest games I've every played. Totally immersive story and environment. Aloy is an amazingly likable and memorable character. Combat is fun and satisfying...bow shooting element is phenomenal. It has been two weeks since I finished the game and I still think about it. I really hope that DLC and a sequel are in the works.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I finished the story portion of Horizon Zero Dawn and it was exceptional; one of my top 5 favorite games of all time. The performance from Ashly Burch was phenomenal she did a great job at giving a charismatic and deep performance by conveying authentic emotion; Lara Rossi, Lance Reddick, John Hopkins, and Adjoa Andoh gave superb supporting performances. The open world is so much fun, I how much extra stuff there is to do. I love how with a lot of the conversations you have choices of how you want to respond which effects Aloy and the story. The writing specifically the story and characterisation of Aloy is outstanding, I love how unique and original the story was and how well created Aloy was she is one of my all ime favorite video game characters now. The visuals are gorgeous. The world design is beautiful, the robot designs are so cool, and the character designs were excellent especially Aloy. The combat is awesome but the melee attacks are kind of boring. The music was also spectacular especially the end credits which was really beautiful sounding. An A+ from me. I will definitely be posting more screenshots.… Expand

    Amazing game, great graphics, the story is awesome and the characters are so much developed wiith their own relations and stories. The gameplay is nice aswell, just dont give this game a 10 because I think it lacks some camera adjustment options, should be zoom out , you should get a view from the top, when in combat sometimes I got machines behind me that I couldnt see. Best game of 2017 no doubt

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. The story of horizon zero dawn is outstandingly awesome in every aspect of plot-making technique. Thrilling and horrifying backstory described accurately through the main story, using holograms, audio logs, data points, and vantage points. It is that good because two movies can be made out of HZD that would tell us about pre-apocalyptic and post-apocalyptic worlds. Graphics for 2017 colored, well-structured, mingled with particles, effects, and overall beauty but with a flaw of render distance to improve fps-rating to a stable number. The OST gives emotions of hope and hopelessness at once. it coated all of the characters into one theme of struggle, prevailing, surviving, and living.
    I got one point off because interactivity in this world comes to a zero. Everything plastic, almost indestructible, only machines can ramp a tree down or a bush, or rocks and other stuff but the player cannot do a thing in settlements, camps, wildlife world. The world is just a texture as NPCs in it.
    Facial animations and cutscenes were greatly advanced in frozen wilds DLC, although in the main game it was terribly executed, You would lose connection to people, main characters, their emotions, feels, sentimental talk just because of unnatural acting(voice acting was superb though).
    The AI for machines was made pretty good but for human enemies is just another story. it is blunt, foolish, annoying.
    I would recommend anyone this game who wants a great story, characters, world, RPG mechanics, fun and exciting gameplay.    … Expand

    Aloy is a great character. She has depth and personality with the full range of emotions (which is to say she’s multifaceted and not at all a 1 dimensional character). She’s strong but compassionate and real. The rest of the cast is also memorable and each has their own distinct personality, making the whole narrative feel complete and immersive, instead of having each NPC feel cut and pasted.

    Graphically this is definitely the most beautiful game I’ve ever seen. I don’t know how they were able to pull it off. There’s some much detail in everything and the environments are beautifully lit. The machines themselves are really impressive to examine because of how detailed they are.

    The gameplay here really shines brightly. I found it to be highly dynamic and felt like I had options for how I would approach each fight. This made combat never feel stale, even with familiar enemies. I’m a big fan of upgrade systems, and this game definitely satisfies in that regard.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Ah Horizon Zero Dawn - a game I was initially hesitant about playing at the time of release. It took some time before I decided to invest my time into this new IP from Guerilla Games but I am very glad I ultimately did. The introduction of the game offers all valuable information the player needs in a very effective way. Without dumbing anything down for the player, the MC Aloy is immediately thrown into a story flow tutorial which includes a delve into that sweet sweet lore of what happened to the earth pre-game, its current state, and how to survive. Hellbent on finding her birth mother Aloy goes through a very thorough and well written story that weaves all available parts of the game together. Once completing the introduction the player has free range of the entire map. While it is advisable to grind some levels before entering certain areas, nothing in this gorgeous landscape is locked - the world is completely open to players choice. Despite it's age, Horizon's graphics are impressive in both the nature landscapes you cross and the giant machines you face all have a fantastic intricate design. In general, the gameplay is highly enjoyable. From the way Aloy moves, the varied combat systems with a wide variety of weaponry, and radio tower completions are all fun to do, unlike in other games. While Aloy is a character that can be slightly molded by the players choices, she is at her base interesting and entertaining. Her development from a naive but brave outsider, to respected and well educated leader is fantastic to playthrough. The ending of her plotline is slightly predictable but no less fascinating, in that while it's kind of obvious she is a clone of a pre-postapocalyptic woman, it is so wonderful to go through all the data and stories the machines, ruins, and an ally by the name of Sylens teaches Aloy, and the player. HZD is a game that anyone can play and enjoy, even those people who prefer to only play as characters of their own gender. For soundtrack lovers this game is a gold mine with a most delightfully played orchestra whose musical influences change with the regions, fights, and cinematics. With great influences from indigenous music, one can get lost in the sound of the flutes and once again lost with more European influences including mesmerizing string pieces and French horns. The diversity of the soundtrack also rings true with all aspects of the game. HZD is in no way a white washed game and contains vitally important characters of all races, genders, and even those with mental illnesses, in a way that feels organic like in real life. Though HZD is not entirely a perfect 10 and does have it's failings in various ways, though when thinking on it I can't actually recall what it is I don't like about this game. It may just be a personal hang up. From the studio that made Killzone, a boring grey shooter, Horizon Zero Dawn is a colossal improvement not just for Guerilla Games but for a great deal of studios and releases.

    TL;DR Horizon Zero Dawn is a gorgeous game with great gameplay, soundtrack, HUD, combat, and graphics. Plus! There are no microtransactions, expensive DLC's, or useless multiplayer modes. Guerilla Games just did it right.    … Expand

The story will take Aloy across multiple vast locations each with a history and character attached to it, and everything presented builds up to an epic and emotional climax.
    The gameplay on the other hand is also great. The fights against the machines are exciting and engaging, with an appropriate level of challenge. It requires you to plan and be precise with your shots, and doing so will reward you big time. But most importantly, every tier of gameplay, from combat, to stealth, to exploration all connect to concise whole. My only problem with combat is the lack of depth with melee attacks.
    Horizon Zero Dawn feels like the completely package. It takes many tried and true tropes in games and works together new refreshing ideas. There's so much to engage yourself with, and all of it is so engaging and fun. I love Aloy's story and I am so excited for the future of this IP.     Saindo um pouco do enredo. Pode se dizer que os gráficos são de ultima geração, mas em alguns momentos sinto que poderia ser mais polido, mas merece um 10 de qualquer forma. Musica se encaixa como uma luva. Jogabilidade é outro ponto chave do jogo, flui muito bem e é extremamente divertido e desafiador, pelo menos no início, matar os "dinossauros" robóticos. Com o tempo vc aprende sobre os pontos fracos das criaturas robóticas e a satisfação de matar um desses bichanos em 1 minuto quando outrora vc levava 10, é muito gratificante. Resumindo, Jogabilidade + Enredo são o carro chefe do jogo, uma combinação que foi feita com capricho. Simplesmente Amei Horizon: Zero Dawn, valeu cada centavo e espero aumentem o tempo de vida do jogo com DLCs/Expansões.

    Leaving a bit of the plot. It can be said that the graphics are of last generation, but at some moments I feel that it could be more polished, but deserves a 10 of any form. Music fits like a glove. Gameplay is another key point of the game, it flows very well and is extremely fun and challenging, at least initially, to kill the robotic "dinosaurs". Over time you learn about the weaknesses of robotic creatures and the satisfaction of killing one of those **** in 1 minute when you once took 10 is very rewarding. In short, gameplay + plot are the flagship of the game, a combination that was made with whim. I just finished playing the game after countless hours and I'll be going back to start a new game+. Great value for money even at full price.     Awesome game. Awesome graphics, gameplay, sound, the guns are just so sweet and I don't care what anyone else has to say, I like the story. The touchpad control is really cool and intuitive. It's a feature that has surprised me as before I played I wasn't expecting much from its inclusion but it does actually add to the experience as a whole.

This is a big open world full of different things to do and filled with details. It's beautifully crafted and properly tested - after 40 hours i saw only 2 very minor glitches not affecting the gameplay. Even at full price there is clearly enough content, and enough quality, to make this game worth both your time and money. We'll start with the goods things:

    - The story is interesting, This weird dynamic of a post-apocalyptic world, mechanised animals, and dynamic relationships between tribes sucked me in. Whilst its true that the story's progress is somewhat predictable it was, for me, unique and kept me engaged.
    - Gameworld - this is vast and wonderfully realised. Graphically it is very good, in terms of how interesting it is I would say on the whole it is very interesting with a lot of things to find and discover. There are no go area's and dreaded 'you are leaving the playing arena, you will reset' elements but overall I found it to be very good.
    - AI. It is very good. The AI is responsive, seems to learn and seems ready for your plans of attack. I am not a sophisticated player by any means and am quite happy to hack and slash my way to glory. This is simply not possible here - you have to plan, you have to develop strategy, and you often have to use your entire arsenal or weapons. This is quite unique as, with most open world games I play, I will have a favorite weapon and stick with it. You are not afforded that luxury here and this keeps the game fresh.
    - Controls. On the whole I found these very intuitive, very responsive, and this makes for an enjoyable experience. There is nothing worse than poorly conceived controls as this basically impacts on everything in game - thankfully this game does not suffer from such issues.
    - Characters. I thought these were well conceived and provided enough interest to make the game, and story, engaging. Overall a definite plus. I really live the protagonist too, good strong character who I certainly felt an affinity towards.

    Some negatives:

    - The side quests. These can be very repetitive and sometimes very time consuming. A number of them do have interesting stories attached which helps alleviate the feeling of 'been there, done that' but the overall nature of then, often 'fetch this' or 'speak to that guy' makes them tedious after a while. The hunting lodge side quests were, though, an excellent addition, and a great way to teach/re-enforce some of the more complex battle mechanics and tactics.
    - Climbing. It may be that a few of the more recent games I have played and enjoyed, Assassin's Creed Origins and Zelda: BOTW, have superb climbing mechanics in them which makes Horizon's look all the worse. But there are numerous points were a relatively short jump to a higher platform should be easily made but isn't because the programming simply doesn't allow for it. This is not game breaking but it is something that I do not think should be present in AAA games. To have a jump up to a different platform, in which your head is touching the platform, but be unable to make it is really poor - especially as in other points in the game your character scales mountain with veritable ease (but only because they have 'climbing points' on them).
    - There is a lot of looting and crafting. This is just a personal gripe but I do not like excessive collecting and crafting, I do not like spending tons of time in the in-game menu's managing my itinerary because I do not have enough space for something I found, I know it adds to the realism somewhat but this is a game about post-apocalyptic earth in which robot animals reign supreme, I do not think foregoing inventory limits would've had much of a negative impact on proceedings, This is a minor gripe, but a personal pet peeve.

    Overall - I would recommend this game to others. It's a lot of fun, it is very intuitive, the story and setting is unique and compelling, and, whilst the missions/main quest do not offer anything different from other open world titles, the open world itself does provide a unique twist and one which well keep you interested.    … Expand

The visuals and imagination of the world in this game are literally breathtaking at times, such vast and well detailed environments of all different climates.     The content of the game is also superb, a rich story line that engages the player, but not only this, there is tons and tons of material and side quests to complete aside to the main storyline. Horizon can also boast one of the best AI systems I have played, it is clear Guerrilla put many hours of thought into the design of each of the machines which makes for a vast catalogue of different machines all with different strengths and weaknesses. But not only this, the gameplay of the AI is brilliant, the fact you can play this game for 30+ hours and still find it entertaining is testament to this. One of the main reasons for this is the difficulty of some of the machines/quests, I had the game on its hardest setting and a couple times found myself stuck for a good few hours on one machine, however I always felt l was capable and within reach of defeating it. Part of this balance was down to the rationing of resources, I would quite often find myself in a battle and having to carefully ration my resources in order to make any real progress in the battle.

    I've never written a review on here but seeing the negative reviews compelled me to, I honestly believe anyone giving this game less than a 8 (even that is too low as far as i'm concerned) has either never actually played it or they are lying because they have an agenda against PS4 (e.g, Xbox Fanboy)    … Expand

    I play video games since almost 25 years. This was one of the greatest games I've ever played. It has so much detail in a lot of topics. AI, Landscapes, Weapons, Animations. It is just brilliant.

The dev team clearly had creative freedom and you can tell the attention to detail is there. Overall the most important aspect of a game is to be fun and it is!     Great amazing game. GG created one the best games of the decade. A breath taking experience from beginning to end. Aloy is the best protagonist the game industry has seen in years. The story is riveting and compelling. The graphics are the best in the business. Simply a masterpiece.

    This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I read a lot of reviews before writing my own and I truly enjoy this game. I'm giving it a 8 due to bug issues regarding certain missions but, most of those are fixed at the time this review has been written and information availability. I personally find the story to be very deep and engaging if you take the time to pay attention for data points otherwise it'll seem far more shallow than it is. That being said, my recommendation to developers is to give this information more freely to make the story more engaging for those players that don't want to spend time searching for the data points. There is enough information in the story to create several more games but, you won't realize this if you don't spend the time searching for the information. Most reviews have one of three complaints the first being the story is weak (it would seem that way if you don't get the right data points), traveling (for those that haven't figured out there is a single fast travel pack that lasts forever available pretty early in game), and those that say it's so similar to other games in the same genre but, hate on those other games as well as this one (those people will never be pleased).

Think 10, 20, 30 to 1. Sometimes so many high powered machines that the only reason you win is because, at the end of the day, it's a video game. What's more, the machines are specifically engineered with real actual living animals as inspiration. Which means they should behave like animals, right? Nope. They attack you on sight even if you pose no threat. They don't attack each other regardless of territory. And above all, this game employs the worst save mechanism imaginable - camp fires. Which means these incredibly difficult combat operations, often multi-layered stages with each next phase involving more and more difficult machines to face, all by yourself, you have to get to a campfire to save your progress - if there is one.    … Expand

    I didnt really think any game could capture me in as much ass the Wicther 3 did but this game already has taken its place as the greatest game i have ever played. You care so much about the characters that going through dialogue options is a must. I really hope that have some extra content later on.

    Loving it so far. Obviously, if you don't like open world games this won't change that. I really don't know what the people who complain about the open world were expecting. I don't like multiplayer games, that's why I don't buy them and don't write bad reviews saying that they are boring. For real, I can't believe so many reviewers gave the game a negative score.

    I've been playing for hours and I can't put in down. To my surprise, Aloy's story is very interesting and I can't wait to continue playing through it. I love single player, story-driven games; and this is definitely one of the best i've played so far. If you have a PS4, you'd be doing yourself a huge disservice if you don't get your hands on this game.

    One of the nice things about horizon zero dawn is the attention to detail. The side quest and "errands" as they're entitled, are full of characters and stories that feel important. The level design is very reminiscent of the Witcher and CD Projekt's input and opinion are absolutely present.     Guerrilla Games and Sony took the risk of developing a new IP and it paid off. Beautiful game with mystery and exploration. This game will appease anyone who loves Uncharted, the Far Cry Series, and the Last of Us. Brings a vibrant and fresh feel to the almost tired open world genre.     Farcry and Monster Hunter had a baby and it's called Horizon.
    This game retains the open world roaming, hunting and crafting aspects from Far Cry
    at the same time, it is very satisfying to take down huge machines.

What I mean is that the times I did die, it was never something that wasn’t my own fault or stubbornness. This is something I deeply admire about this game. It’s not a cakewalk. It’s not afraid to challenge your every move, and it does it without being a complete troll. The story was quite fascinating to me, and I found myself really anxious to find out what Alloy finds out next. Gorilla studios, the developers that brought the Killzone series to the PlayStation, really show what they are capable of and although I never believed Killzone to be bad games, they just never quite clicked for me. After playing HZD I cant help but admit to the reader how wrong I was about my perspective of Gorilla being a somewhat mid tier developer. HZD in my humble opinion rockets Gorilla Studios to legendary status. This game is an instant classic, and although it shows a lot of influence from other games Gorilla has crafted the perfect mesh. If I had to say one thing I wasn’t super impressed with would be SOME of the side missions. It seems like they might have tried to go the Witcher 3 route. Making each side quest a strand of a much larger thread and just as important to the lore as any story mission would. HZD just misses that mark. I never felt like I was doing tedious filler, but I think there were a couple that I would have loved to see expanded on. If you own a PlayStation and are a fan of open world RPGs chances are you are playing this game as I write this. If you are not a playstation owner and are a fan of action RPGs go buy a playstation and this game like now. Throw away any stupid ideas of console loyalty and get this game.… Expand

I have probably taken more than 100 screenshots already, just like a traveler taking photos at scenery spots. At least in my opinion you just cannot easily win by shooting the same type of arrow and rolling all the time. You as a human being is truly fragile in the face of huge machines. Two hits and you're gone.

    Cons: The main story, its scripts and voice acting are actually decent and intriguing, if not particularly groundbreaking. A part of the story towards the end actually made me want to keep going and see what really happened, though the denouement seemed a bit disappointing tbh. There are still various holes here and there which appear a bit too inexplicable, mawkish or abrupt, and many characters were either saints or dumb crazy villains, too one-sided. though I understand that for any video game, in a lot of cases you have to sacrifice the story coherency for the sake of gameplay purposes, as long as it's not outrageously nonsensical. However, the side quests are really sub-par. The quest contents are highly repetitive and the script writers are totally short of innovative ideas and feel rushed (In 3+ occasions somebody died in front of you after saying their last words. Seriously?). Eventually you'll feel a bit drained out and soulless, just repeating the same battles with various types of machines all the time, doing the exact same kind of task over and over again. On this front it just falls massively behind truly great open world games such as GTA or The Witcher, where any side quest can be hugely surprising/entertaining/edifying.

    In all, I'd say even just for its graphics and visual arts design, you should buy it. They are executed magnificently. However, it's clear that the developer just didn't put the best part of their budget to fully fleshing out the world with script writing/voice acting and treating side quests with care, which really is a shame. Otherwise it could have been a real 10/10 game.    … Expand

    This is just the GOTY of 2017. One of the best experiences I've ever had in a videogame.

    Not only for the graphics, but the awesome story and immersion that it gives; it's beyond anything ever made.

    The sense of exporation and finding things is in every corner of the map. The battles can be simple but get very intense. At times, I found myself getting the andrenaline rush I used to get from playing Horde on Gears of War - barely surviving and yelling out loud as I tried to find cover or land shots while fleeing.

    Its also entertaining to just look at. Had no problem co-playing with the girlfriend and switching off to keep the game going. I will admit, there is definitely not a lot of "new" features in this game, but everything was done right. It just feels good to play.

    Highly recommend adding this to your collection and calling in sick to work for a week or two.    … Expand

    Absolutely outstanding. Did you like FarCry Primal? Do you like post-apocalyptic sci-fi? If you answered yes to both of these, BUY THIS GAME. It's been quite a while since I found a game SO HARD TO PUT DOWN and I'm loving the BEJEBUS out of it.

This game is fantastic and is easily in the top 5 all time games I have ever played. One thing you cannot appreciate by watching videos of gameplay is how smooth and great the game is to play, the mechanics of this game are big plus for me.

    You can of course compare to Far Cry 4 or any other open world games... There are elements that will be common to any games that fit this genre - that's expected. But the way they built it here is not the same at all. There is a LOT of variety in this game, something I have never seen before.

    What a great leap forward for Guerrilla Games! This Open World RPG has pretty much what an Open World RPG needs! The story, the weapons, stealth aspects, the AI.... need i go on? This has to be my Game of 2017 and even Game of the Generation.

    Everthing about this game is flawless. It was a pleasure to play. Great stealth, strategy and intense battles made it an awful lot of fun. The story was unique and well told.

    This game is beautiful, and really fun, I spent like 5 hours playing it, which I don't often play that much, but when I do is because is a great and fun game, good job guerrilla and sony for have a great game developers, btw Whats going on with the hate? 200 people gave a bad score? must be xbox, nintendo or pc "fanboys" please just stop being a salty and ignorant if you don't have it.

    Simply the best game i played this year. Gameplay mechanics are on point. Everything is easy to understand even though there's a lot of content. The best game visually that i have ever seen the decima engine is really good.

Horizon is easily a 9 out of 10 game, losing a point only for falling victim to open world collectable content padding (nowhere near as bad as Ubisoft level, however) and some cringey voice acting of minor characters. Horizon is easily a 9 out of 10 game, losing a point only for falling victim to open world collectable content padding (nowhere near as bad as Ubisoft level, however) and some cringey voice acting of minor characters. The story is well crafted, the characters are believable and relatable, the music and sound effects are top notch, and the combat system is fantastic. Even the collectibles felt woven into the overall tapestry of the game's story. By this I mean finding collectibles expanded the game's world and helped unravel mysteries unlike collectibles in other (read: Ubisoft) games which are often just thrown in scrap only tangentially related to the game's setting (looking at you, Assassin's Creed). I do admit to finding the hunter trials a bit tedious but not overly so.

    Horizon is the rare game where I'm genuinely sad that I have completed it. And yet I am glad, even though it means not coming back to this well designed world until a sequel, that there are no plans to extort players for DLC and no examples of content cut to sell later as DLC. I can only hope any sequel lives up to the bar set by this first game.    … Expand

    The unfortunate fact of Horizon is that most of what it does well, other games have done better, and they did it with a compelling who and where. This is the game you play after you’ve finished The Witcher 3, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, and Far Cry: Primal. It is the greatest hits compilation of open-world games. Yeah, sure, you might want to own it, but the real connoisseur has the original albums.

    Horizon Zero Dawn has an unforgettable protagonist, world, story, visuals, soundtrack and gameplay. Due to minor issues with inventory management and quest selection, I cannot call it perfect but I can say it is absolutely worth your time.

    There is enough spectacular action to keep you occupied for a couple of weeks, but Horizon is not the hot new killer app for PS4.
