Jan 9, 2017Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone is the holy grail of an already illustrious franchise. For existing fans of the virtual idol, this isn’t just some greatest hits album. Plenty of formerly arcade-exclusive tracks are available on console for the first time. Newcomers, meanwhile, are positively spoiled for choice and couldn't ask for a better time to start the franchise.
-
Jan 9, 2017Western Vocaloid fans—and the Project DIVA franchise itself—have now received the very best that Sega’s music gaming efforts have produced up until this point. Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone is a stellar rhythm game, offering fantastic gameplay supported by a massive list of music.
-
Jan 9, 2017Project DIVA Future Tone is a celebration of ten years with the Vocaloid crew, bringing nearly every song and outfit handcrafted for the digital singers into one complete collection on PlayStation 4.
-
Jan 23, 2017The lack of game modes and other such bells and whistles might put off some people, but I think it’s pretty much moot. Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone is a pure arcade experience, and to be honest, I think that’s Project DIVA at its best. The massive track list, fantastic music, clever beat maps, and sky-high difficulty ceiling make this one of the best rhythm games available. When you’ve got that, you don’t need a story mode.
-
Jan 9, 2017Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone is everything you love about J-pop. Its infectious music, snazzy visuals, and accessible yet challenging gameplay will have you shouting for an encore.
-
Jan 9, 2017There's so much content here that it's going to keep the most ardent Hatsune Miku fan busy for quite some time. If you've played previous games in the series, there's no reason not to grab this one, if only just to have all the content in one central location.
-
Jan 9, 2017Future Tone is the ultimate collection for any Miku fan, and a great starting point for new players. The number of songs and modules is staggering, and the 1080p/60fps visuals look incredible on PlayStation 4. This truly is a Miku masterpiece.
-
Jan 24, 2017This is probably the best game in the “Project DIVA” series to date. With 224 songs and more than 300 modules available in the game it seems more than enough to provide with hours attached to the gamepad playing this game from the classic series fan to the newbie ones or anyone who wants to play a great “rhythm game” completing the different songs at higher levels or trying the different survival courses.
-
Jan 13, 2017This is the total package for all fans of the vocaloid popstar. Over 220 songs, hundreds of costumes, haircuts and accessories as well as the proven and enhanced rhythm game mechanics make this a blast to play – unless you despise J-pop. In that case you should run. Fast.
-
Jan 9, 2017As the most content-rich Project DIVA game yet, Future Tone has a bizarre charm that should appeal even to the most vocaloid-averse rhythm game fans.
-
Jan 9, 2017What it lacks in frills, it makes up for in staggering volume, enough to satisfy anyone that's accepted Miku into their heart (that isn't already sick of playing older songs), or serve as a playable canon of popular Vocaloid compositions to pique the curiosity of the yet-to-be-converted.
-
Jan 9, 2017Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone es the best compendium of any Miku games and songs to date. With more than 220 songs to play, a ton of unlockable costumes, great visuals and music vids, and easy controls but challenging gameplay, this game assures hours of fun to all of those who buy it, specially Miku fans. The only letdowns? That veteran players could feel that there isn't anything new that they had already saw in previous Project DIVA titles and the lack of a portable version.
-
Jan 23, 2017Future Tone is a great game for newcomers and veterans that you can enjoy right from the beginning.
-
Jan 9, 2017While the Concert/Live Editor and Your Home mode is absent, the game packs tons of songs and customization features that emulates a pure arcade experience. Meanwhile the art style may have changed, but at 1080p and 60 frames per second, it’s the smoothest, most accurate and beautiful looking Project Diva game to date.
-
Jan 18, 2017While Project DIVA Future Tone is a welcome addition to the PlayStation family, it most certainly doesn’t hold your hand when trying to master every song. Hitting that last note and realising you’ve got yourself a perfect or even scraping a pass is the most satisfying feeling ever.
-
Jan 9, 2017The core Hatsune Miku gameplay has barely changed, so if you liked it before, you'll like it now. The most compelling case for picking up Project DIVA Future Tone lies in the options you're given as to how much of the game you want to buy. While the free, base package won't give you much to sink your teeth into, either of the reasonably priced add-on packs offer an awful lot of bang for your buck, and combined they make up the most robust and complete version of Hatsune Miku ever released.
-
Jan 9, 2017Think of Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone as a massive ‘best of’ compilation of her greatest hits that you can play and you can’t go wrong. It’s the kind of game that you’re likely to revisit for years to come.
-
Jan 13, 2017Quotation forthcoming.
-
Jan 9, 2017Considering the amount of content that Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA Future Tone offers, it really had the potential to be a standout game. Instead, it’s only a paradise for hardcore fans as anyone else will likely grow tired of going through the extremely long tracklist.
-
Jan 9, 2017SEGA and Crypton have polished the series’ challenging rhythm gameplay over the years, and Future Tone serves as the ultimate package for the most hardcore of fans to prove that they’ve mastered the art of very precise button pushing.
-
Jan 9, 2017Fans of the Hatsune Miku franchise (or Miku herself) will likely be happy with what Future Tone provides. The sheer number of tracks on offer is impressive, but there's no doubt that this is a rushed compilation that provides little for those that aren't Miku-crazy.

Jan 9, 2017Hatsune Miku: Project Diva Future Tone doesn’t miss many beats. Though a couple of my more recent favorite Miku tunes didn’t make the cut (notably “Love Song,” featured in last year’s Project Diva X), I am overwhelmed by what Sega’s latest vocaloid rhythm game has to offer.
