Technically and mechanically well constructed Mech action. The challenging campaign is definitely more entertaining than the multiplayer skirmishes.

It's a fun, stylised romp, with a plot that ticks all the "good versus evil" organisation boxes. Playing from start to finish isn't going to set your world alight, but what will be provided is a solid and fun run and gun, with some neat twists to break up the sections, and keep the interest right up until that last terror spreader falls under a metal Mecha boot.

Hardcore Mecha doesn’t bring anything new to the table, but it is extremely enjoyable. While having Japanese-only VO could cause you to miss dialogue in heavy action sequences, you might be having too much fun flying around shooting things to even notice.

It’s by no means easy, but as you progress and upgrade your mech, you’ll find it strikes a decent difficulty balance. If you’re up for a somewhat challenging game with a very anime-inspired look, then Hardcore Mecha might be just what you’re looking for.

I love MegaMan games and this really scratched the itch funny enough.

Highlight is definitely the controls. I felt like maneuvering well

Highlight is definitely the controls. I felt like maneuvering well was so rewarding.

It's pretty much impossible to get multiplayer going which would be fine if all the Mecha were available in the Simulation mode, but really cool ones are locked there. I don't understand why they put so much on multiplayer when it's not that big but here's hoping the high marks encourages more solo Mechas to use or better yet, local Simulation mode and 2v2 online matches.

For a China hero title, I was pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is pretty fun and gives the player a decent amount of options in battlefieldFor a China hero title, I was pleasantly surprised. The gameplay is pretty fun and gives the player a decent amount of options in battlefield and customization. I especially like the characters and the j-rock like music. Multiplayer was pretty fun, although it's also the game's biggest drawback since most of the game's additional stuff is accessed there, which is very questionable. There's survival mode which more or less fixes that issue but it hinders the campaign, making it rather repetitive. The story was especially not that interesting (though they atleast tried) and it sucks that you only play as one mech in the campaign. A lot of questionable design choices holds the game back. Still, it's an enjoyable game nonethless. Some flaws here and there, but overall, if you love mechas, then I recommend this game. If you're not a fan of multiplayer games, then I suggest waiting till it drops to maybe $15. Full Review »
