.hack//G.U. Last Recode shines in its engaging story, eclectic cast of characters, and unique ability to handle the concept of a game within a game. In the end, I would recommend it to JRPG fans who are looking for a unique universe to explore as long as they're prepared for generic dungeon crawling and a less than stellar combat system.

You're getting a lot of game for your buck, and a great story to boot, but be prepared for some repetition.

These remastered games include a new chapter that is amazing for those who love the JRPG genre.

This title which includes the three original games plus a fourth one, totally new in the series, offers quite a number of hours with an interesting cast of characters and a story which becomes more appealing with next chapter, besides a simple but enough combat system. However, the graphical quality despite seems good in some aspects, in others seems obviously outdated.

This game has sparked an interest in anime that I didn’t know I had. I would highly recommend this game to anyone who enjoyed the PS2 game, as well as anyone who wants to check out a series that has withstood the test of time.

A very enjoyable JRPG experience inspired by the MMORPGs. Lot of content and upgrades not found in the PS2 originals.

Last Recode is a very well done compilation, which includes three games that never saw an official release in Europe and a brand new fourth one. That's a lot of quality content for just fifty bucks.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode gives you good bang for your buck, with an original chapter as a bonus. The game has aged a little, technically and gameplay-wise, but the vision of CyberConnect 2 is still fascinating after all these years.

The only painful notes of production remain the technical aspects.

Featuring improved graphics and more polished gameplay, .hack//G.U. Last Recode offers a fascinating look back at a classic JRPG series. While repetition can sometimes bog things down, the story and characters will keep you coming back to The World, determined to see Haseo’s journey through to the end.

.Hack//G.U. Last Recode is a JRPG history exhibit, and it’s well worth the price of admission.

.hack is back with the remaster of the G.U. series, adding a brand new chapter. Unfortunatley, the old feeling of the mechanics is now obsolete and not so fun anymore. The big value of the plot remains, but is difficult to suggest if you are not a fan of the JRPG style.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is an incredible package of remastered games. Three excellent RPGs from the PS2 see new life once more along with a new finale. Improved visuals and gameplay refinements make them look and play a lot better than before. The extra layer of polish on it shows when you compare them to their PS2 selves. It’s a magnificent bundle for .hack fans - new and old. Hopefully this time, .hack is here to stay.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a generous package with the three original PS2 episodes plus a new closing chapter. The modern improvements help make it more palatable for today's tastes but there is no doubt that this still looks and plays like an old game. How much of a negative that is will depend on the player.

Although Last Recode feels slightly dated, it still holds up in 2017. A touch more attention to detail on elements of the remastering would have helped on the visual front, and the overall pacing may frustrate anyone not accustomed to JRPGs of the era. But the sheer volume of content makes it worth fresh eyes – especially given it was never released in Europe to begin with. Adding in a whole new game and a tonne of bonus content makes it a worthwhile purchase for fans of the genre.

Last Recode has its highs and lows, but overall I think that as a bundle it has a great amount of value to it.

The .hack//G.U. Last Recode remaster is a more than worthy way to experience the original PlayStation 2 releases, offering several enhancements which improve the experience considerably and a real closure with the new Reconnection volume. The enhancements, however, do little to improve the stiffness of the experience, the repetitive dungeon design, and the slow story pace, making .hack//G.U. Last Recode a must buy only for fans of the series. Newcomers, however, may still find something to like in the games, as the story, albeit slowly paced, is quite interesting, and the world well fleshed out.

.hack//G.U. Last Recode is a great attempt to modernize an older franchise. All the improvements made by CyberConnect 2 were not only needed but welcomed. Sure it still suffers from designs of its time but that shouldn’t deter you from a good overall experience.

While .hack//G.U. Last Recode’s story still find ways to convey freshness and exuberance, its formulaic dungeon structure and repetitive progression sequences feel dated almost right from the get-go.

This is the real .hack GU collection.
Really I was missing this franchise but play it again in this graphics and generations make me happy.
