Guns up is a great free to play game, and would have been a fantastic regular game. But, yet again the f2p model fails to contribute, and it feels like you waste a lot of time doing stuff that you could just pay 2dollars for.

For what it is (which is an absurdly fun, money-grab tower defense), Guns Up delivers on what it was meant to. This means both the fun of building up your base or detroying other player's bases' and the ever agonizing feeling of having cash advantages shoved in your face will be lurking behind every bullet your expendable soldiers are shooting.

If you have a PS Plus subscription, there will be some neat advantages that will surely give you a headstart, so might as well give it a try and decide if the game is worth some of your money. Repeatedly.

For a free game it's very good. Played for a few hours straight and didn't get bored. Yes the layouts are the same but difficulty increases. Few different game modes which are enjoyable and the PVP is fun too. Not loads to do yet is still fun.

Guns Up! is another free-to-play to game that you either like it or you don't. For someone who BARELY puts money into these games, Guns Up isn't a bad experience. As a matter of fact, this got a little addicting for a bit for me. But once you hit that progress wall, all the fun ends...which is where free-to-play FAILS. But once you hit that progress wall, all the fun ends...which is where free-to-play FAILS. Let's be real here, casual gamers will foolishly put $50+ dollars into these experiences, JUST TO PROGRESS. Real gamers don't and we know it. If this wasn't a FTP, I would've enjoyed this much more; hell I woud've put $15 bucks down just to get the full experience. Sadly, FTP will never go that route and will continue to do what this game does...shine in mediocrity. Expand

A lovely chunky art style may lend a certain jolliness, but ultimately, it's a bit too lightweight and rather too tight-fisted to really satisfy in the long run. [Feb 2016, p.87]

Astonishingly, there's no replay function for your defensive performances. [Feb 2016, p.122]

A mobile freemium game in a poor disguise, then, Guns Up! feels soulless, with all the variety locked-up tight, early on, behind level gates and constant, nagging pleas for cash. [Feb 2016, p.90]
