Jan 10, 2017What should be a sleek and swift experience feels like a local train stuck in traffic, a metaphor that the game emphasizes each time that it chooses to momentarily strip Kat of her powers.

Jan 10, 2017Gravity Rush 2’s personality and unique, physics-bending gameplay make it so unlike any other open-world game that it gets my whole-hearted recommendation, despite a few faults.

Mar 7, 2017Gravity Rush seemed like an oddity on Vita, but then, the entire Vita was an oddity, wasn't it? On the radio friendly unit shifter that is the PS4, however, Gravity Rush 2 still seems wonderfully unlikely and out of place. What a strange delight. [Recommended]

Jan 12, 2017Though Gravity Rush 2's seemingly bottomless charm does much to make up for its pedestrian characters, it can't quite cover the game's considerable design issues. Most frustrating is how reluctant it is to fully embrace its intoxicating "fly anywhere" sensibility.

Jan 10, 2017I can’t summon the necessary bile to truly dislike Gravity Rush 2, nor can I summon the necessary warmth to love it. In the aftermath of its grand finale I was exhausted in every way, happy to have gone on such an epic journey and just as happy that it was finally over.

Jan 10, 2017Ultimately, Gravity Rush 2's biggest problem may be explained away as an ungainly leap from handheld game to console game. Instead of creating larger and more elaborate challenges around the game's wonderful core mechanics, Japan Studio stuffed this sequel full of undercooked odds and ends.

Mar 7, 2017Gravity Rush 2 is an ambitious game, an open-world title without vehicles to drive or guns to shoot. It feels like something many critics and fans have asked for, a new kind of blockbuster that deemphasizes violence and weapons, making room and time for some bigger and more audacious ideas. Like Kat’s control of gravity, it sometimes loses control, and soars off into an unexpected and unclear direction. But like the free fall, the adventure is most enjoyable when you relax and simply see where it takes you.
