    Incredibly bad, amateurish and worthless "remaster". They couldn't even improve past issues/bugs and also created millions of new bugs. Just cause you copy+paste same Palm trees all over the map and copy+paste new grass textures doesn't mean you can ask 60 dollars/euros for it. This is biggest joke i have seen in gaming, on same level as Cyberbug2077. You promised quality of lifeIncredibly bad, amateurish and worthless "remaster".     The weirdest thing is the draw distance.
    It has completely ruined San Andreas... the map looks tiny, like some kind of condensed Fortnight map.
    It's particularly abhorrent when you can see Las Venturas from Los Santos or Mount Chilliad from Santa Maria beach.
    The limited draw distance worked to the games benefit... it made the map seem huge. Now that sense of scale and wonder have been completely ruined. Not even a slight haze like in real life... :(

    To say that I am disappointed is to say nothing. Once again I was convinced that Rockstar is not the same, since they give their great games to just anyone.
    1) Bad optimization
    2) Horrible character models
    3) Bugs
    4) Unreasonably high price
    5) Intimidation and lawsuits against moderators
    All this makes you give a bad rating to your game.

This so called definitive edition is one of the most pathetic remasters of all time, especially considering how amazing Rockstar used to be. They were the top. They were the best there ever was. Where are there quality of life improvements and *much more* that they promised in NewsWire article? And now they ask 60 dollar for this. Whoever worked on this have only slight experience in photoshop, thats it. They have no idea how to program new things. This is most amateurish product, billion dollar company has ever released. I absolutely dont care that Rockstar North didnt work on this. They hired the studio, they green lit it, they were okay to release it in state like this. Its all on them. Everything. Now Rockstar Launcher has been down over a day, i cant even play Red Dead Redemption 2, because it asks me to connect to internet and i cant do that, because launcher is down. This is ridiculous. They have milked GTA Online over 8 years and thats all they are capable of for now. Yes Red Dead 2 was great, but that was 4-5 years ago. Thats a long time. I have zero hope for GTA 6, absolutely none. I bet it fill be with short story and extreme focus on online, i mean who know, maybe whole game will be just online, but im pretty sure they will design GTA 6 map, so it would mostly fit for online.     There are a plethora of issues with the games. The same old bugs can be found, carried forward from the PS3/Xbox 360 versions. I understand there are licensing issues with some songs and that they have to be removed, but the games just aren't the same without them.

    If you're going to name the game as the "DEFINITIVE EDITION", then at least put some effort into actually fixing it before releasing it. Why Rockstar allowed this studio to butcher the same game TWICE is beyond me. This trilogy is nothing but a quick cash grab. It is not worth your money.    … Expand

    Халтура! Не стоит своих денег. Оригинал и то был лучше. А тут кое как подтянули текстурки. Модели почти такие же кривые. В катсценах вообще ужас персонажи будто из глины. Карта иногда вообще пропадёт как в старой версий с модами. Мелкие объекты появляются прям перед носом. Очень ужасные игры! Им цена максимум 0.1$Халтура! Не стоит своих денег. Оригинал и то был лучше.     For Rockstar Games is the publisher, this remaster is an absolute catastrophe. I am absolutely disappointed and would not recommend it at the moment. It is almost unplayable on the Playstation 4 because the framerate keeps dropping. Very very sad, Rockstar & Groove Street Games.

    This indecency sells for 60 euros and I can't get it back. Sony make a refund on your platform please. And Rockstar Games and 2K must publicly apologize to the players for such diarrhea that they poured on our favorite games. It would be better to make a remake or nothing at all.     Terrible remaster. Nothing more than a quick cashgrab from Takedown Two which are the same **** with an anti-modding stance and that took down numerous mods and sued modders because they came up with something far better than this terrible remaster.

Even Silent Hill HD collection put in more effort than this, and those games were an insult to all of survival horror. This "remaster" is nothing short of an absolute lazy, unfinished, cash grab from Rockstar. This "remaster" is nothing short of an absolute lazy, unfinished, cash grab from Rockstar. The updated visuals are not impressive by any standards for modern systems, and character models are laughable and in most cases WORSE than the original ~20 year old games. These games are plagued with bugs, glitches and crashes that render these games virtually unplayable and extremely frustrating. So far after about 8 hours (give or take) of gameplay I have encountered numerous crashes, ugly lazy ground textures that levitate way above where they should be, numerous spots where you can just walk/fall outside the map, ugly inconsistent/tearing textures, and so on. The rain is without argument worse than the 2001 original in GTA 3 and looks ugly and simply tiled. During chase missions your target will glitch outside the map and spawn across the map forcing you to fail the mission. Cars will randomly, and very often, immediately explode upon catching on fire, causing you to fail missions/die much more frequently than the original game. I had originally started the game with the goal of achieving 100% completion, but upon returning to Portland from Staunton the entire El Burro payphone mission line had reset itself after completing it. The new aim assist is broken and will only aim at the closest target, even if the closest target is completely behind you. This may be a minor complaint but the San Andreas menu sounds are a HUGE issue for me, especially when GTA 3 and vice city HAD their own menu sounds. I am at a loss for words with how disappointed I am with this release and STRONGLY urge those who have not purchased it yet to stay as far away from it as they possibly can, and any poor soul who has already bought it to request a refund. It is abundantly clear that this remaster was done by a completely inexperienced team and was rushed as fast as possible for sale. There is no excuse for this with the game being EIGHTY CANADIAN DOLLARS, PLUS TAX.… Expand

    It's a cash grab, plain and simple. Yeah, the environments look nice, but the game is full of random bugs, and the remodelled characters look like Miis. Grove Street Games should never be allowed to work on these games again.

The environments look decent, but you better pray it never rains in any of the games because the rain looks more like milk, and it falls in a very visible grid-like pattern. The white rain makes it difficult to see where you're going as well. I truly expected better from Rockstar games, the same people who brought masterpieces such as GTA IV, GTA V, and both Red Dead Redemption games. I know Rockstar didn't personally work on this remaster, but they had to have overseen and/or greenlit the project for final release, so they're just as complacent in this as Grove Street Games.… Expand

Their poor excuse of “keeping the feeling of the originals” is a laughably bad one as it just makes their poor effort into this project look a bit less awful. Do. Not. Support. This. Mess.

    I love all the games of the GTA series. With great trepidation and hope was waiting for this trilogy. I paid money, but I received not Remaster, and the negligent work! Minimum number of new textures. Many mistakes.

    Anyways, going back to the trilogy, all they had to do was spend a year or two investing in changing the engine to one similar to gta 4 or 5 and updating the graphics MUCH more. If they were any smarter they would have know they could have made a huge profit in the end but oh well I guess. Talk about not knowing how to run a business and showing your true greedy faces.     If this is the definitive edition, then i rater play the PS2 version. DON'T BUY THIS GAME! Bugs all over the place, horrible characters, removed coop on San Andreas, removed missions on Vice City, unrealistic draw distance, bugs on missions and that is just the beginning. This remaster is awful, and Rockstar should be embaressed to launch such a bad version of this games that change the industry.

In GTA 3, it is just shy of impossible to see when it’s raining. They’re white streaks that cover the entire screen, being more akin to TV static than actual rain. In VC and SA, the issue doesn’t seem to be quite as intolerable, but nonetheless they are still just white streaks flying across the screen instead of something that actually resembles rain drops. You could go through the r/GTA or r/GTATrilogy for 5 minutes and spot 30 bugs players have found, which vary from immersion breaking to game breaking. There are removed songs and animations in each game, the most egregious of the animations being everything muscular CJ does now. And as far as missing songs goes, the company that made this game has amassed an unbelievable amount of wealth, and it’s nothing but laziness and greediness to not work out licensing for the ACTUAL DEFINITIVE SOUNDTRACK. The games’ audio received almost no polish. It seems the only thing actually done to change these games from what they were before is the graphical appearance. When these games were current, they were the best looking PS2 era games around. With the “Definitive” editions just released, they are still nothing more than the best looking PS2 era games. The only changes to make gameplay any smoother are the free camera, and free camera drive by controls. By today’s standards, GTA 3 is next to unplayable. Nothing about it feels good. It was a chore to complete, and it’s a game from my childhood that I have incredibly fond memories of. I even go back and play the original version once every 2 or 3 years, along with VC and SA. These games deserved improvements to make them appeal to the generation that didn’t get the chance to play them when all the hype surrounded them. Instead, we’ve gotten 3 bug ridden messes from a studio that already ruined the 10 year anniversary edition of, arguably, everybody’s favorite game, San Andreas (I prefer VC for the story, and SA for gameplay). If changes aren’t made VERY soon to fix performance issues, and eliminate the dozens of bugs players are coming across, I think the legacy of these games will be tarnished, and the reputation of all companies involved will be questioned of laziness and greed. tl;dr: It’s a rushed mess. It is incredibly apparent they needed at least another 2 months to have the games properly built. And now, instead, we’re going to have to wait and hope that they add patches that we should’ve never had to wait for in the first place.… Expand

    The performance of this game on PS5 is terrible. It gives you two options, Fidelity mode or performance mode. Both are terrible and both have constant frame drops. The game also crashes way more than it should

    Thank you for this piece of cra#p, why you do that with classic game? I want my money back, it's not worth any $. Sad that Rockstar Games go to the same way us Ubisoft and EA. Absolutely not playable, ugly game. We lost tons of music and charm of this beautiful game.

    While it has its rough edges, Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition is a worthwhile remaster of three classic titles. Its visual overhaul prevents these games from feeling overly dated, and the quality-of-life improvements modernize the experience in a way that meets today’s standards. Sure, its new art style and character models won’t mesh well with everyone, but it may grow on gamers as time goes by. And sure, while these aren’t the “definitive” editions we expected, this is an admirable attempt to introduce three groundbreaking games to a new generation, and I’m glad it exists.
