The good news is that this is one of the best games ever made. The bad news is that this is one of the worst ways to experience it. But if for some reason the impressive PC port is not in the cards for you, then like me you may just find it more convenient to play this on your PS4 for cheap.

It helps that as you play the RPG elements make some of the game more and more enjoyable, but there's still a lot of downsides to this port. Be aware that this is essentially the PS2 game, so things like draw distance and framerate which you might think are improved are decidedly not. Also, given the clunkier nature of the game engine and the worsened controls due to the lack of the PS2's analog buttons, some segments will feel more difficult than necessary and may lead to frustrating repetition of some of the more complex missions. So given the game's considerable length, it may be very unlikely that most players will bear the learning curve and get past the first third of the content.

But underneath all that is still the core San Andreas experience, unmatched in many aspects even by this very series. Stick with it and by the time you get to the halfway point you will be more used to the quirks of playing this flawed port.

Best Game ever. The Original PS2 feeling on the PS4, not the trash mobile version

10/10, just like the PS2 version
I am so glad that when I researched the PS4 version, it turned out to be an emulation of the PS2 version, only with widescreen option. Yes, the controls were weird at first after playing GTA IV and GTA V for so long, but after one playthrough I got the hang of it. Will always be one of the best games that was ever created.

The game is good, but controls for me was a bit weird, since I'm used to GTA V. The game was good, exactly like PS2, but HD. The only reason why I don't like about the game is that when you are on a bike, and you sprint, It' s not that fast. And aiming wasn't good either. But good.

actually a very cool game. I love playing it on my ipad air. but I can't play a ps4 version. the graphics is much worse ios version, game looks very dark. different gameplay, for example after hospital you lose all your weapons, after mission failed you can't quickly retry, no cloud save, and so on. basically ps4 version looks like a ten years old game :)

Not as good as the original one for PS2. This 1080p version has slight v-sync problems and sometimes there's issues with the sound as well. The story and the atmosphere are still the same pure GTA: San Andreas that they were back in the day.

Great atmosphere, story, music, big map with variety of landscapes. Very well made characters and quite likable. Story based on real life events and blended in very well into this fictional world. Great content overall. The minus is the graphics because back then there were already open world games with better graphics. The minus is the graphics because back then there were already open world games with better graphics. So we knew it's possible but rs decided to not invest much into it and tbh I doubt the people there knew what are they doing coding wise. Either way it's still a great game and quite enjoyable. For me the PS2 version had better sounding and atmosphere while the PC version was tech heavy back then and had tons of glitches and bugs. The tons and tons of mods are what kept this game alive for years so as the fanbase held multyplayer. Overall a really enjoyable good game. Expand

Great storyline except for the plane missions in all honesty. Music and gameplay done right and its everything I wish GTA V had. Highly recommend picking it up if you havent played it yet. It's not a GTA game unless you spawn a tank out of no where and start blowing **** up.

What a joke. A downgraded version of a game that already doesn't hold up when you actually play it.

Grand theft auto san Andreas one of the most legendary games that came into existence the game was developed by rockstar north and published by rockstar games the game was released in 2004 the player plays as a former gang member carl johnson who returners to los santos because his mother beverly johnson was killed in a drive by shoot-out. Now the tech stuff this game isn't a remaster in any shape of form what so ever this game uses the ps2 code and emulates the game at 1080p with ps4 features and also trophies are included the game doesn't have any issues what so ever except the controls who for a lot of people will have trouble playing this game. the game had frame pacing issues in ntsc and pal but this has been patched is this game worth it in ps4? Yes i highly recommend purchasing the game also the game is often at sale on playstation store so i recommend to purchase the game whe is on sale. Expand

Let me warn you. DON'T BUY PS4 VERSION OF SAN ANDREAS.
    And here's why.
Yes, it has 1080p resolutio. Yes, it has achievments. But that's all! They did no effort in optimising this game for modern hardware - it's a **** PS2 port with - ugly graphics - 30 fps (constant frame drop incuding) - poor controls and bad aim system from iOS - laggy sound effects - picture is DARK even with

Big Smoke mission with chasing russians got me.
I couldn't hit bikers because there is somehow no auto aim in this stage (huh?) and manual aim is just garbage - too fast and you can't aim properly. I searched for sensitivity option.. but there wasn't one.
    It's not worth even 5$.
Got to steam and buy PC version for full experience, guys.

God that OG Loc mission and some others are so incredibly frustrating. Having to drive a bike through narrow passages where bumping something can ruin the entire mission, and then you can't just start over, all the ammo and health you lost is gone, and you have to go all the way back to where the quest starts to start over. I give this a number 9 large with extra dip. The aim is odd so that's why its not a 10.

more than 10 years and this game has aged well, the aim is a bit confusing, especially if you are used to the pc version.
the graphics, although outdated, are beautiful for the year 2004, with some details that impress you today. Outside the story that is great and holds you until the end

In my opinion the best game after GTA Vice City from Rockstar. Breathtaking free world, wonderful character adjustment possibilites and one of the best stories with many missions.
The only flaw of this game are the controls and sometimes the camera angle.

Please, don't take me for wrong, I love this game but it's practically unplayable on PS4. Rockstar didn't even try to add new controls, which are awful by the way. I understand that San Andreas was created in PS2 era, but I think they could enhance the graphics for PS4. Many times, when you aim, the camera rotates automatically and it's very tedious.

I didn't even finish the story

I didn't even finish the story because of the controls. It's a pity 'cos I loved the PS2' version of San Andreas.

Unless the game is cheap, don't buy this.

We just pray for a GTA Trilogy Remaster.
