    Trash cut down game compared to the previous ones. Online required to save BS. Only purchased it cheap and pre-owned, because the little kids wanted to try the VR section. The VR is a visually middling experience. Low rez pixelated track look, but with a nice detailed car interior. GT used to be my goto game back on the PS2/3.     lol, this game is a shame even with the monetization cr*p aside the single player mode is the worst in the history of the franchise, somehow almost all cups are accessible but you cant play none because you dont have the cars compatible with them, you dont know where or how the start 0 explanations and 0 ducks are given, disgusting game

Multiplayer matchmaking doesnt work, there are no matches, just destruction derby, five OK clicks required to leave after a race (stats screen, rewards screen, timing table, chat screen,..).

    After initial hiccups with multiple updates and long waiting periods... I was finally able to play the game and enjoyed it until I tried Sport mode to notice that it doesn't work... other players online don't appear in my daily races. Racing alone defeats the purpose of online gaming. Too many down sides to a potentially great game...what a shame; what a waste of money and time.

    You always needs to be connected on the internet, otherwise you can't do 90% of the game. The IA is poor.

    The cars are very expensive, so you can't buy a lot of cars. You gain cars that you already have and you can't sell it (you just can delete it from your garage). The online gameplay is good, but not even close other games like Forza, Project Cars, and others...     Always online politics is destroying games. For the GranTurismo saga is the end, many longtime fans are feeling frustrated and disappointed by the politics that started in GT Sport and carried on in GT7.

    Years after the launch and following the release of GT7 I feel like giving this vote. If initially thought it was a small parenthesis, now it has turned out to be the beginning of the decline of the GranTurismo saga, plagued by the scourge of the always online to save and play in single player.

    Awful, can’t be played, can’t earn credits. I loved this brand for ever brought PlayStation for this game. What a let down by a money grabbing company! Awful.

    Very beautiful game for that 10 Points BUT for this price is the singleplayer part a shame.
    After 10 h 49 min and 59 sec and 1.882 km racing the story part is finished. And now? I dont need the multiplayer!

    In GTS im not finished with the singleplayer but i have there 2.879 km driven.

    A new Gran Turismo game (following the highly forgettable GT6). It has a great community that keeps it active even with its failures.
    The bad: It does not have off-line game modes or home or local championships (only tests) rigorous Internet required. If you're not good at racing and you don't try hard you'll stay in the lower leagues without being able to advance, which    The good:

Irregular matchmaking (due to lack of users, so you will be matched with more skilled players and you will be frustrated as there is no feeling of improvement). It should not surprise anyone to be in the middle of carousel-type races in which no one risks, no one tries to overtake, the speed is constant and everyone is in line from start to finish. DLC for "premium cars" this is of vital importance since if you want to be competitive you have to make extra payments to have cars with which you will not make a fool of yourself in the races. Regular to bad graphics, many models come from GT6 that strangely only came out on Playstation 3 and not on Playstation 4. Bugs in the collision engine. Some curves and surfaces make cars behave strangely.

    The Meh!:
    A Playstation game that requires a permanent connection, remember that a black narrative was built in the press about Xbox One's Always Connect and there were many people who used this argument to attack the competition and this game precisely uses that feature for not only its main mode but for the whole game.     I recommend waiting for December patch before buying the game as it will add a real single player campaign.

    I really like the game, and TBH it is one of the better driving sims out there, but until they fix their dreadful SR system and stop punishing victims of bad driversI can't give this game a positive rating.     This game blows. If you're a fan of the older games, just completely ignore this entry. It's a mediocre racing, "simulator" completely ruined by a ridiculous penalty system and a useless driver rating system. The most recent update made it so that the penalty system no longer tries to identify fault and just penalizes both players involved in the collision. Which means when little TimmyThis game blows. Which means when little Timmy decides to ram you off your racing line you both get hit with a 5+ second penalty and it throws your entire race. You would think the sportsmanship rating system would prevent you from getting matched with people like this, right?

    Well you would be wrong. I was SR S and still regularly got matched with people who would intentionally brake way too soon intentionally attempting to cause a collision or would dive turns at insane speeds attempting to overtake. Which would lead to massive pile-ups in turns and everyone getting penalized. Polyphony's justification for this crap is, well you should be doing everything in your power to avoid getting hit even if you have to slam on the brakes or go off the track. This is chimp brain logic that Polyphony is using here.

    Thanks to the penalty system and how hyper competitive they designed the game to be, the online component(which is now 85% of the game) is a busted mess and is extremely frustrating. This brings me nicely to my next point which is that this game is basically online only now. Even when doing offline races without an internet connection, you get no less than 2 error messages telling you that you need to connect to the internet after every race. You also get error messages every single time you do literally anything that would sync data with their servers. Buy a car, get an error message. Change your driver livery, get an error message. Change your racing suit, get an error message. Speaking of customization there basically is none now.

    You remember how Gran Turismo was basically built on being able to customize your cars? That's good because Polyphony sure doesn't. There are 0 performance customizations available here besides basic stuff like tires. If you're expecting the classic Gran Turismo experience of spending time in the shop customizing and tweaking your cars there's absolutely NONE of that in this game. There's a pretty rudimentary livery editor for the cars, but that's it. The race rotation suffers from an extreme lack of content as well.

    There are 3 official sport races PER WEEK. The races used to rotate once every 24 hours, but Polyphony realized that this might accidentally cause someone to have fun. So they fixed the problem immediately and made sure that no one could possibly have fun with this game. While there are private lobbies, as far as I know these don't award SR or DR. So if you're trying to climb the ranks private games are basically useless.

    In conclusion: No Tracks, No cars and No fun allowed.

    Gameplay: This part is the weirdest to explain. While some cars have a good behavior on the track, inexplicably others have a very unpredictable behavior and in extreme cases the tweaking options will hardly be enough to recover them, add to that the lack of variety of customizations that the predecessors had and game is more like a mobile racing game than a GT, as the car improvements boil down to buying upgrade levels that some go up to 5 in performance and weight and that's all, no choice between turbocharger or aspirated, buy better brake system or anything.

    Conclusion Of the GTs I've played, which were all but the PS3 ones, I can confidently say that this GT is little better than the GT3 or the PSP GT, lagging far behind much older games like GT2 or even the best for me, the GT4. You'll miss the great tracks from previous games, the variety of cars and all the customizations that were possible in exchange for an online mode that forces you to play for ridiculous rewards as well as unfair punishments because the developer decides they would only have touch races which you are forced to run with toxic people, who are only there to disrupt the game of others.    … Expand

    I can handle difficult games and challenges. I’ve persevered with this game for almost a year but with the inconsistent and unfair state of the awful penalty system, plus the inflexibility and monotony of competitive online modes, not to mention the non-existent AI offline, I finally destroyed the disc and threw it away today. The game’s only saving grace are its graphics.

    I"m so sorry, i loved GT series so much till GT Sport who is going in total wrong direction. Poor driving performance, poor smooth tracks makes this game very disapointing. Car livery creator bring some fun to the game, but is not enought to make a racing game. I do not reccomend it to any sim driver who espect Gran Turismo like it was before.

If we are talking about competitive game this is wors example. All scheduled races is raiting ones. To gain raiting only is grind in 3rd event. If you dont like it or other 3 events you need to wait next week. It is obviously good try but all main mechenicks are not working. All cars are more slipery comparing to other sims.

    Score 1 is litery based on main concept and realisation of concept. GT Sport is not bat in solo mode but solo mode dont have a lot of content and it is literaly empty. If we are talking about competitive side it literaly bad. This litery main and worst part of GT Sport. With unobvios and not representative (exept high levels) ranking and penalties system ranking mathcmaking is bad. If you want to chill in racing game better spend time in any other sim.

    Pros:
    - Sim game on PS4 with stable online (in end of 2020 game with stable online)
    - Good livery desing editor

    Cons:
    - Bad simulation cars are more slipery that in other games.
    - Bad and unobvious ranking and penalties system.
    - All multiplayer scheduled races are ranked (Dayly ones too)
    - If you want to find fun find it by yourself (including other games)
    - No singleplayer content.
    - Some of penalties litteraly unfair and require a lot of grind to restore it.

    As result main part of games is concentaited on spotsmanship and ranking multiplayer. Unfortunatly it is not working.    … Expand

    It's almost impossible to comprehend how a studio could get a game this wrong after years of successful installments. GT Sport feels very much like an EA game in the way it almost abuses it's players. You're given just 3 racetracks a week (realtime) to race on. Talking of online, most of the races are terrible, short, 4 lap races. There's no time to develop any exciting battles. You won't find yourself able to pit in these races either. There's no tyre wear, there's no fuel usage. Infact you can barely consider this motoracing at all. Who ever sat as producer on this game clearly never had an interest in real Motorsport. After a few hours it starts to bare it's truths. As you realise you've been scammed for your £50, you'll feel a bit frustrated, maybe even angry.

    My advice? If you're interested in some semi serious, sim racing, then look on PC. Because all you e got here, is a terrible, half baked, barebones scam.    … Expand

    The penalty system ruin this game. I can't tell how many times I was push off the track and penalised by the game.
    Even the AI drivers are id.ots.
    If I could then I would return this game.

    Gran Turismo turned into a microtransaction cashcow. It looks cheap on sale, but you must also pay for PlayStation Plus because most of the game content is online based. Want to play against family/friends in your living room? your choices are extremely limited and it feels like a demo. In a few years, they will eventually shut servers down and kill the game = your money wasted.

    I tried to play with my friend and the only option was Arcade 1v1 with something like 8 cars to choose. Moreover you can't even play with the AI opponents only boring 1v1.

    I won't support locking online behind PlayStation Plus. I will never buy this service. Period.

    No carrier. How can you screw up series this bad is beyond me.

    I have not bought the game and will not buy it. Zero interest for online racing against other players. Absolutely loved GT 4, 5 and 6. Will wait for next GT version, but will only buy it, if it has a proper single player mode.

    It does not have enough content to be good single player game and does not even come close to handling multiplayer as it should be. With only pro i can think of being amount of players (also known as "rammers" "carmageddoners" "letmepushyouintothatchickanesoyoucangetpenalty" etc.) Keep away. There are so many good racing games that wasting money and time on this is like self inflicted wound. Considering amount of time PD needs to make this games it's pretty obvious they watch adult movies for 7 hours a day and use remaining part to do "whatever" in a game.
    Additional thing is adding "Real Driving Simulator" to title - this is plain joke.
    Cars drive like boxes on wheels - forget about enjoyable driving model from PC2 or realistic from AC or ACC - this is full blown arcade that tries to simulate simulation but fails miserably.
    Force feedback is bad, delayed and muted (RS300 GT)
    You cannot calibrate wheel or pedals (anyone with brake mod is sc-wed),
    You cannot set fov,
    You cannot set position inside cockpit. Some cars don't even have this view.
    Those are basic of basics in simulators or simcades. Yet this game fails and still dares to call itself "Real simulator" and put it on cover.
    If graphics could make a good game it would be 10/10, but in racing game there are many things more important than graphics and they are all really bad here.

    Get PC2 (it's not perfect but compared to this it is masterpiece), get Assetto Corsa or wait for AC: Competizione that is about to release in June 2020 and enjoy your racing experience.    … Expand

    Game feels incomplete it's not just a step away from what made Gran Turismo games great, it's a leap. Limited vehicles, limited tracks, and although vehicle tuning is there, there isn't any parts modifications. Just dialing up power and down weight. In a spectacular move, Kazunori Yamauchi gives the two-finger salute to 99% of the fan base and now exclusively caters to the top 1% of online racers. For everybody else it is an exercise of spaffing 400 Euro up the wall for a PS4 and a game that is utterly devoid of content.

    The single-player content is an afterthought at best. You have driving lessons that are so ridiculously easy, it makes me wonder if they are targeted at one-armed Parkinson patients. The driving missions do pose a challenge occasionally, but only because the player is put into a motorized wheelie bin and tasked with overtaking a Bugatti Veyron.

    The very core of Granturismo, the tuning aspect, has been completely removed. Cars can no longer receive suspension, brake and transmission updates to go with power increase. As a result, one ends up with completely pointless cars that handle like a hogwashly bladdered ballerina in army boots.

    For anyone familiar with the true Granturismo titles (GT1 through GT4), this overprized unpolished turd of a game is an absolute insult.    … Expand

    I am deeply disappointed by very poor cars choice - only 200 or so - definitely not up to 2019 standards. Game is not as realistic as it claims ("the real driving simulator") - nowhere near the standards of modern PC sims. I would rate this 6/10 as a game but 0/10 because of false claims that it's an actual driving simulator.

Completely eschewing performancr customization of any kind which has been a staple since the 1st game is unforgivable. Does a allows and enhamces that experience. Any tuning options that are in the game are a far cry from GT 6 and I was very disappointed. You can't put turbos or anything on cars anymore. Hell the Gran Turismo series actually taught me quite a bit about tuning nd various car companies. Making a racing game that is now dummied down with pretty graphics will swear me off from buying anymore Gran Turismo games in the future if they do this crap again. Get back to your roots! If u ever played dirt rally u know u can feel soooo much things like a single rock on the road, shifting, acceleration, brake... after played Gran turismo sport im sure i wont buy any ofworst race game ive ever played and im angry for money i lost for this. Just gonna play my PS4 games that I have for years, but never buying anymore Sony games. Only from PC from now on with the free and open internet it has to offer.

    Some single-player games too, now Sony is turning me off from being a consumer of their products to switching to PC I will be selling this coming Summer my PS3, PS4, and all the PS games I got to buy a PC.     Do not buy this game, there's no real single player (mp focused game).
    No tuning, lack of content (around 160 cars, in reality maybe 80-100 are unique). 27 tracks if I'm not mistaken.     this game should not have been called Gran Turismo... when you buy gran turismo you expect a nice carrer mode which begins with the sunday cup and then you buy cars and you mod them up. this gran turismo is all about multiplayer. even if the game is beautiful I was really really really disapointed by the solo campaign wait... no there is no solo in fact. disapointing

    Love it. I was afraid of how I will handle vehicles with the gamepad, since on PS3 I used a wheel. So picture my surprise when I saw you can use motion to drive.
    Wow! And picture my happiness when I tested and it works relly great!
    Also graphics phenomenal, detailz amazing. HDR wont work on my tv, but should.

    Outdated overpriced cuted game.

    There are no carier, no good graphics, no many cars, many race tracks, no rain, no dynamic weather and time, no tuning like in gt 6 and no other many things.

    And you can't save your progress without Internet

    The actual driving experience is what ruins this for me. It feels so much worse than the likes of Project CARS 1 and 2 and Assetto Corsa. The force feedback is poor as is using a controller. Still no sensation of speed in the game after so many years and complaints. Tje car sounds are dreadful. I hate to say it but they've wasted their time on the new sounds. The game is huge disappointment. The worst thing is that we are going to wait a lot for normal part of the series, because making GT7 is going to take another 4-5 years...     After being a long time fan of the series I´ve come to the conclusion that GT Sports really sucks! It took me a long time to accept it but now I did. And I´m not bashing on GT taking a new turn for going online and trying to be comepetitive online racer. It is kind of let down not to have so many cars and tracks and not to drive against AI for money to buy a new car and get upgrade partsAfter being a long time fan of the series I´ve come to the conclusion that GT Sports really sucks! The game for me was fun in the beginning but since i started online racing its been just frustrating to the part that i decided, it´s better not to play it anymore. And i gave the game really a fair chance i played 24 hours and i´m level 25. Driver Rating on the edge to B und sportsmanship C. But besides online play there is not much to do and online play is so painfully frustrating i can´t take it anymore. You either crash in the back of other cars because they don´t know what they´re doing or you get pushed out of the track both actiossn decrease your sportsmanship rating. It is generally just no fun in it. I like to drive comepetitevely also i enjoyed some of the racer and some drivers drive clean but the majority does not. So get ready to be pushed around while lowering your sportsmanship rating so you get in a class where you get pushed around even more. Sorry this is NOT Sport!… Expand

    How to say, when we play GT Sport one would say not at all that have play a GT. And it is a great pity. None solo career, a shame. 4 years for that? PD makes what of their day seriousness? I am disappointed to have bought it, to say that I cannot even resell it because I took it on the PSN.

    Estafa y gasto de espacio en tu Ps4, así de simple. Que para disfrutar la mayoría de la opciones se necesite estar en línea es de lo peor. No queda más que disfrutar lo poco que tiene: un bonito diseño y un gran control; pero un asco de opciones jugables. Una compra impulsiva de la cual me arrepiento.

    Ultimate disappointment. To think that the GT series has such a pedigree, you would at least expect to have some kind of enjoyment playing this game.
    Main gripes are...
    1. Online Only... In order to do anything in this game apart from the awful "arcade" mode, your PS4 must be connected to the internet and then onto Polyphony's servers. Whilst I would agree that most people who own a PS4    Ultimate disappointment. To think that the GT series has such a pedigree, you would at least expect to have some kind of enjoyment playing this game.
    Main gripes are...
    1. Online Only... In order to do anything in this game apart from the awful "arcade" mode, your PS4 must be connected to the internet and then onto Polyphony's servers. Whilst I would agree that most people who own a PS4 are permanently connected to the internet anyway, there are times when one would like to take a PS4 on holiday, to a friend's house, or simply the internet might be down. Needless to say, the massive restriction placed upon the user by NOT being connected to the internet is ridiculous.
    2. 12GB update file before you can even load the game. Why even bother producing physical media if you're going to end up downloading pretty much the whole game anyway.
    3. No difficulty settings. Not everyone is a hard core online master... Games like this should make it possible for users who are less skilled to still have fun playing the game. By lowering AI difficulty in order to "win" races, people can slowly develop their skills whilst still getting a positive feeling from playing the game... to constantly have to retry a challenge just to get a win you're putting casual gamers off.
    I'm selling my copy immediately, thankfully I didn't purchase it through the online store but I still feel robbed of £40+    … Expand

    Whilst the game has probably the best visual appeal of the sim-racing games I have owned thus far, after nearly 3 weeks game-play has become boring. This is in stark contrast to my experience of the final revision of GT6, which was my first racing sim. GT Sport leaves the distinct impression of a job that was left to the last minute to finish, or wherein the workload was vastlyWhilst the game has probably the best visual appeal of the sim-racing games I have owned thus far, after nearly 3 weeks game-play has become boring. This is in stark contrast to my experience of the final revision of GT6, which was my first racing sim. GT Sport leaves the distinct impression of a job that was left to the last minute to finish, or wherein the workload was vastly underestimated. As I live in a country where a 220ms latency to GT servers is an issue, though I drive online competitions from time to time I much prefer a good career mode experience. In this respect whilst the AI competitors aren't bad, the fundamental construction of the career mode is uninspiring. Added to that a limited track- and car variety makes for a game which gets old very soon. Due to the lack of variety the daily reward for driving 42km a day more often than not results in being rewarded with the same gift car over and over again. In the absence of vehicle variety why could they not have provided a choice of either gift car or game credits for future use? The game lacks the facility to test-drive vehicles on tracks of your choice on your own time and the vehicle performance upgrades are a dismal shadow of what was available in GT6 where you had a choice of different exhaust systems, ECU's, stage 1-3 engine tuning, turbo- or super chargers, catalytic converters, to name but a few. Apparently the latter was done due to the perception that the later generation of racers are less technically inclined. I cannot disagree more as I perceive the opposite to be true! Car enthusiasm is not a sport for the technically disinclined! Though I cannot talk from first hand experience, media literature seems to suggest that GT5 & GT6 were also initially launched in highly unfinished states with significant user criticism. This seems to be true for GT Sport as well. I take note that a tremendous amount of work has gone into this game thus far, and as an engineer I truly respect that. I just hope that Polyphony responds in similar fashion to its forebears by upgrading GT Sport to be the exceptional and polished product that it clearly has the potential to be!… Expand

    Yes, the game is pretty. I can play a lot of games that are pretty. Yes, the game has VR support, but at this point I'm sorry I bought a PS4, so I don't know that I'll be buying more hardware to play this game.

    GT Sport boasts an excellent driving model and superb car models, but primarily it’s a paramount step towards blurring the line between electronic entertainment and sport, and on a global scale. I just hope Polyphony continues working on the game until it reaches its full potential. [13/2017, p.42]

    Standard online races built on proven-by-the-years core of the Gran Turismo series. However, it suffers from an acute lack of content. In addition, if you play solo you have to avoid Sport. [Issue#280]
