Regardless of these minor faults, Golf With Your Friends is a fun, colorful way to experience minigolf in the comfort of one’s own home, either alone or with a group of, well, friends. There is a ton of variety in both courses and game types, the mechanics are simple to pick up and the game’s in-engine physics simulate the feel of a real golf ball (or hockey puck) quite well for the most part.

Tee up, because Golf With Your Friends is on par with the best golf games. Channeling your inner caddy with several other players is as fun as you make it, with mode customization that can modify gravity, bounciness, and tons of other factors. Dressing up your spherical friend is also delightful - seeing balls wearing cowboy hats and scuba masks defy sports game conventions. Despite some frustrating map designs and distractingly hollow early 2016 graphics, Golf With Your Friends scores a birdie in my book.

Golf With Your Friends is a mixed bag. To run with the golf analogy, some clubs are great, others are going to leave you gasping in exasperation. It's better with friends, but sadly the moribund online means this is a local only affair. The three new courses are generally good barring Volcano.

It’s a cracking good time with friends but on your own, it’s a meanderingly frustrating tiresome glitch-filled experience.

The digital age is a double-edged sword... not dealing with physical copies of games is nice, but when you run into a title like Golf WithThe digital age is a double-edged sword... not dealing with physical copies of games is nice, but when you run into a title like Golf With Your Friends, and wish you could return it... you're screwed. First of all, I'm surprised - Team17 games usually seem a bit more polished than this. (A little bit, at least) To start, local multiplayer can only be achieved by taking turns, and SHARING the same controller. Wow guys, way to max out that tech.

There are plenty of little hang-ups and issues that plague the game, like glitchy walls suddenly disappearing. The clincher so far has been the penalty strokes. The game says it will add 2 STROKES to your score if you run out of time on a hole... which is incorrect. It adds 2 strokes TO YOUR MAXIMUM ALLOWED SHOTS. So, if you have it set to a 12-stroke-per-hole maximum, and you run out of time on your 6th shot, you would assume your score for that hole is an 8, right? NOPE... it's the max shot allowed (12) plus 2. In other words, EVERY hole you time-out on counts for 14 strokes. It's ridiculous, and quite frankly amazing how someone could screw up simple math (and a simple explanation) like that. IF you decide to suffer through this game, take my advice - turn the hole time limit up to the max (5 minutes, or infinity), and don't run out of time!

Plenty of other little hiccups run rampant. You quickly realize that during the hole preview (where you hit triangle and are free to move the camera around the hole), you can STILL wind up adjusting power, adding spin, and even HITTING the ball! Several times, I've been mapping my path to the hole, when I accidentally tap X and "whoosh"... there goes my ball without me properly lining it up.

A few other mentions... the menu screens seem somewhat convoluted and clunky. The par suggestions for each course seem designated by super-nerds who played this crap nugget for weeks and weeks, then decided their VERY best shots on each hole should be considered par. And again... one shared controller for local multiplayer? Blows my mind...

Everybody's Golf is also $20, and is LEAGUES better than this game, in every respect. DO NOT BUY unless you are just dying to play a mini-golf game, and have no other options. **raises hand** Like me.

Marvelous game from PS Plus. Very worth paying if you aren't paying full price.

one of the worst games i've played in the last few years!!

the physics are SO off. you shoot in an 45 degree angle on an even boundary and the ball doesn't only NOT bounce in the same angle, it just bounces 90 degrees in the wrong direction.
the bar where you can set the power to shoot is completely random. you can do it exact the same way multiple times and it will differ every single time. for example: on the same spot you should uphill with full power. sometimes the ball is too short to reach the edge to the next level & sometimes it's way to much power and it goes out of bounds.
also if you have to shoot and there is a gap in-between you can land 1 meter after the obstacle and the ball glitches through the floor and you have to start again.

it is unplayable and a torture. definitely won't recommend this game.

the music and the level designs are awesome, that's why it gets 2 instead of 0 points
