    Fuser is an amazingly accessible music mixing tool that will shine in the hands of aspiring DJs using the Freestyle mode. Sadly, many of its old-fashioned game design elements undermine the core of the experience.

    For a few brief moments Fuser reinvigorates the glory days of social music gaming and in the right hands can be effectively be an instrument of music creation, but outside of the campaign there's little for the rest of us to do.

    Fuser may not garner the attention of the masses like some of Harmonix’s previous titles, but it has plenty to offer for those in need of a party - whether it be by yourself, with your COVID-19-approved circle of friends, or with the game’s potentially bustling online community.

    If there's one thing Harmonix always gets right, it's the vibe. Whether it's Rock Band or Dance Central, Super Beat Sports or DropMix, the studio's games feel distinct and cool from the jump. Fuser, Harmonix's latest work, is no exception.

    While there’s definitely fun to be had with Fuser, the not-particularly-musically-gifted people (like myself) may struggle. The budding Calvin Harris and Tiesto’s of the world, on the other hand, will surely find enjoyment in the game.

    Fuser is a toy that wants to be a video game. The controls are not intuitive, the vision is limited, and the campaign is cringy to the core. I see that this game had its vision, but it fell through somewhere so they gave us a bunch of mixing options, some popular songs and slapped a steep price on it that is not worth the admission. I would much rather buy a real turntable than spend money on Fuser.

    There are also multiplayer and co-op online modes as well as weekly challenges where you can share your mixes online. Although you still use the same set of tracks and instruments they are scored quite differently, but as the game has not yet launched I could not find anyone to play against, hence this is a review in progress. We will update this review with a score once I’ve had a good stab at the online modes, but for the moment, despite my DJ diva heckles being raised to the highest point, I can say it’s pretty good.

    In the time of covid i had little to do there were no new games that i played and there was fuser i had finaly my new favorite game now i canIn the time of covid i had little to do there were no new games that i played and there was fuser i had finaly my new favorite game now i can make my own mixes like a house mix and dubstep mixes. And i can even go in to co op Freestyle and play with people on all platforms. Or i go in just Freestyle to make new mixes and save them on my fuser profile so people who follow me on fuser can see it. And with a new update i can now show my mixes with alot people in the diamond stage and you can get the diamonds when you lvl up with the new live events it is a amazing game and i say this game is it worth to but if like this type of games btw the community of fuser is one of the best community ever they are not toxic community. Sorry if there is bad english it is becauce english is not my first language… Full Review »

    I started clubbing heavily in 99-2012ish? I love House, Techno, Trance, Dance Music in general, Euro music from the 90's, you name it, love it.

    I played DJ Hero 1 & 2 to death and still have both, along with 2 turntables.

    I got super excited to hear a new rhythm game was coming out from Harmonix. COVID took a toll on everyone in 2020. I haven't played a rhythm based game since DJ Hero 2, Rock Band 2. It's been a while.

    Be very careful; this is not a video game as much as it's a tool to create your own megamix/music.

    The Campaign acts as a long Tutorial to show you everything you're able to do with the game, which gave more direction and a drive to collect 5 stars on each set.

    Other than Campaign, there's a freestyle mode where you could play to your hearts content. However, once you beat Campaign, you've pretty much heard the same songs over and over and over again.

    Battle Mode is really iffy and I still don't full understand it. It's multiplayer so I can't really comment.

    Social is where Harmonix will implement weekly challenges and you have to try and reach a top 25 in the leaderboard to unlock new aesthetics, clothing, designs, etc.

    When this game works, it works REALLY well. For me, hearing Paul Van Dyk - For An Angel kick in during the end of a set reminds me of the wee hours of the morning, finally leaving a club after a rave. Part nostalgia but the other part is missing.

    The game falls flat to me when it comes to replay value. I was hoping for more modes, couch co-op, more challenges, more direction? I'm not sure, since I'm not a developer.

    I spent around $90 CAD and bought the VIP version when it was on sale, wish I didn't because you can easily pick the songs YOU want through a DLC.

    Am I playing this game everyday? No. I walk away and walk back in randomly here and there.
    Guilty as charged, I'll buy some DLC here and there when a song drops that I need in my crate like Tiesto, David Guetta or Darude.

    I wish there was a leaderboard of some sort to fight for? It's just missing something to keep wanting to play it other than just creating your own megamixes. I love my dance music and I love the fair share of 80's tunes too as those grew on me in my later years but this new hip hop and pop music is brutal to my ears. If you like the tracklist, it could be for you but for me, it's fun at times.    … Full Review »

    This is the game that I’ve been hoping for. being a bedroom DJ who likes eclectic mixes and mashups, I can say that Fuser captures the sameThis is the game that I’ve been hoping for. being a bedroom DJ who likes eclectic mixes and mashups, I can say that Fuser captures the same vibe when you successfully pull off a beat lock mix in real life. As a bedroom DJ with my wife as my only fan, it also gives me the chance to reimagine myself as pre-pandemic, festival-caliber DJ. Yes, there are some DLC and unlocking songs too, and the library isn’t that expansive, but it still gives a challenge in the sense that you have do make do with some songs you like, fuse them with newly discovered ones, and create one, wild, eclectic mix.… Full Review »
