Playstation Official Magazine UKMay 9, 2018Happily, I can report that it's all chaos in the best possible way. [May 2018, p.78]
-
Mar 20, 2018Clearly the best PlayLink title to date with enjoyable and original mini games, great support for your smart phone and a beautiful visual style to accompany the hilarious gameplay. As with any PlayLink title, this game is best experienced with friends since the AI can sometimes make some weird, irrational choices.
-
Mar 17, 2018Frantics is a charming and diverse party game and an excellent showcase for PS4’s PlayLink technology.
-
Mar 17, 2018Frantics is a fun physics based mini-game compilation that encourages backstabbing your friends. Fun and laughs will be the side effects of this wonderful 4 player game although it could’ve used a few more modes and games.
-
Mar 8, 2018Frantics is a nice addition to the Playlink family, allowing friends to get together and play minigames by using their phones. There is a good variety of games, although more would make it better. Plenty of fun twists such as the secret missions, traps, and auctions add to the experience.
-
Mar 6, 2018For about $20 USD, Frantics will provide gamers and non-gamers alike something entertaining to do at a get-together without burying their face in a small screen.
-
Mar 15, 2018Frantics delivers a fun multiplayer experience for anyone, even if they are not familiar with game controllers. This Playlink game includes 15 minigames.
-
Mar 7, 2018Frantics is a fantastic party game that controls impressively well using a mobile device. When you factor in the collection of 14 fully-realised mini-games, you're looking at a must-buy for those who love gaming with their chums.
-
Mar 23, 2018Frantics is a fun and polished collection of minigames, made unique by its wonderful aesthetics. The gameplay is very effective in bringing out the worst and most competitive side of the players involved, so it’s perfect for a night with friends. Ruthless competition, misconduct and wicked behaviour are combined well with a game system that, while maintaining the inclusive philosophy of PlayLink, do not skimp so much action and rhythm. In the long run it may become a little bit repetitive, but until then it’s amazing.
-
Mar 12, 2018While the gameplay might not be very deep or precise, Frantics succeeds as a pick-up-and-play game that anyone can enjoy regardless of age or gaming experience. The funny characters are ideal for slapstick violence, and the frequent alliances, backstabs and sabotages keep things interesting.
-
Mar 8, 2018Frantics is a game for those who enjoy the casual style of gaming. Thanks to PlayLink, the few minigames that Frantics has are very fun and entertaining.
-
Mar 7, 2018Frantics is a fun four-player party game that does its beset imitation of being a Mario Party lite. It’s engaging, fun, at times frustrating, but nonetheless a good addition to the PlayLink game family.
-
Mar 6, 2018Frantics is a solid title in the PlayLink line of games for the PS4 that’ll surely bring laughter, competition, and rivalry to any party. The unique art style and flow of game sessions truly make it enjoyable to experience and play through.
-
CD-ActionJun 5, 2018A collection of varied party minigames, great for kids, too easy for adults with some gaming experience. [05/2018, p.80]
-
Apr 11, 2018Frantics is a great entry for Playlink with impressive use of mobile devices for casual mini-games. The games are imaginative, amusing and easily accessible for everyone. If you are looking for a well-made game to casually spend time together with your friends, you cannot go wrong with Frantics.
-
Mar 19, 2018Although it’s not exactly the title that’s going to make this whole PlayLink experiment the next big thing, there are enough positive qualities here for me to recommend the game to anyone who is a fan of the genre.
-
Mar 13, 2018The game won’t win any prizes for originality and the final game can be potentially unfair, but it’s still worth checking out.
-
Mar 6, 2018A hilarious party game hosted by a sly fox, in which we take part in some crazy minigames where dirty tactics guarantee our victory.
-
Mar 6, 2018It lacks content and the tutorials could be more detailed for non-gamers, but as a party game for casual gatherings, Frantics is a very good choice.
-
Mar 6, 2018It might not be too innovative, but Frantics provides an enjoyable party experience that Sony's PlayLink service has been lacking. It certainly isn't a killer app, but the fun variety of minigames and its (mostly) responsive controls show how much of a good time PlayLink can provide when it's properly used.
-
Mar 9, 2018A good idea that have not been executed as it should be. The number of minigames and options included are really scarce.
-
Mar 16, 2018Even as a simple party game, it's difficult to recommend Frantics. There's just nothing that really stands out as a high point. It's flawed in almost every way that really matters and doesn't offer the levels of entertainment one would hope to get from a game like this.
-
Mar 9, 2018Frantics it's a funny party game for a little while, but the fun won't last so long.
-
Mar 6, 2018Frantics is an experience that we recommend only to those with at least a few friends to rely on, and only to the insatiable admirers of the competitive party game.
-
Mar 6, 2018Quotation forthcoming.
-
Mar 6, 2018Frantics is a novelty by virtue of Sony’s continued exploration of how phones can be used as controllers on a console, and I was impressed with how well that tech worked, but that’s mostly where my interest ended. Frustrating tutorials and a lack of options made a small set of already middling minigames a chore to get through, even with friends involved.
-
May 3, 2018Frantics is a party game where you use your smartphone as a controller. Despite a good amount of fun, the controls lacks precision and the game is quickly repetitive.
-
Mar 6, 2018Frantics fails to live up to its name by featuring an oddly slow pace. Beyond that it's not a fantastic party game experience, full of the same sorts of mini-games seen in past titles within the genre. Still, it works well thanks to the PlayLink functionality that allows you to use a smartphone as a controller. If you're dying for a party game for your PS4, it fits the bill, but there are better options out there.
-
Mar 6, 2018Frantics should be a fun collection of casual-friendly mini-games made in the Mario Party mould. Unfortunately, it's just criminally boring.
-
Jun 23, 2018Instead of being a true fun and accessible Mario Party-like game, Frantics remains an inconclusive attempt to make us laugh. Correction. We laugh, but at the game, not with it.
