Aug 30, 2021Fracked is a promising cover-and-shoot VR FPS for PS4. If it featured a longer campaign and smoothed-out difficulty then I'd consider it a must-have for the platform. For now, I hope to eventually play a sequel that expands on this very epic formula in such a manner.

Oct 29, 2021Fracked does a good job of making me feel like an action hero with its wide variety of activities, but the one-note combat can be a drag.

Aug 20, 2021Fracked is an exclusive PlayStation VR game that gets the job done. Equipped with an almost non-stop "action" gameplay alternating phases on foot, skiing and climbing with a concept of taking cover using motion gaming, it is very easily placed in the list of the most popular VR games. more fun to play yet. However, we regret that the adventure ends fairly quickly (3 hours maximum), with an obvious lack of variety in terms of enemies and environments. The cel shading, associated with nice effects of light and particles, make Fracked a very beautiful game in virtual reality that does not have to be ashamed of what is done on competing platforms, especially since it is fully optimized for PS5 with maximized resolution.

Aug 16, 2021It doesn’t hurt that the game is designed with a confidence and flair we don’t often see in VR. Absolutely everything down to the menus has a level of swagger that makes for a stunning experience. Cel-shading works well in certain settings, and VR is absolutely one of them: it allows Fracked’s environments to have exponentially more detail and complexity than a similar game without cel-shading, adding much more life to the title's alpine mining facility.
-
Aug 28, 2021Fracked has fun shooting, climbing and skiing mechanics in VR but fails to connect these elements across a disappointingly short game hurt by PSVR exclusivity.
-
Aug 16, 2021nDreams is well versed in making highly polished VR titles and Fracked is no different. The art style is gorgeous, adding a comic book blend to the action playing out. And there are some wonderful ideas and mechanics employed. Unfortunately, they’re not given the time and breadth to be expanded upon, and that’s certainly the case when it comes to the narrative. Fracked is exuberant and exciting to play, it just burns too bright and fast.
-
Sep 3, 2021Fracked has a lot going for it: satisfying weapon interactions, a great visual style, a unique and very functional cover system, and a handful of side activities like skiing, climbing, and light puzzling to break up the game's pace. When it comes to combat, the game lacks the variety necessary to keep things interesting through the end, petering out early on with just three enemies and two main weapons. The story does its best to drive the action forward, but feels underdeveloped, leaving the player wondering what their motivations are and scratching their head at the perplexing ending.

Aug 16, 2021Fracked is a blast to play, even if it isn’t quite the massive shooter epic to round out the PSVR era. By all means, its arena-based action is polished and thrilling, offering refined fast-paced action with intense combat setpieces. But the game’s simply over far too soon, never getting a chance to really expand on its core elements and deliver the rich experience its mechanics deserve. Fracked starts off at a sprint and never really lets up, but the finish line is far closer than it should have been.
