May 16, 2018Chock full of an overwhelming supply of retro-gaming goodness, FOX n FORESTS will take retro fans back to a happier time with an all new adventure to experience. Though challenging, it is done in all the right ways, and the story presented like a fairy tale will leave a smile on your face long after the rage face has dissipated.

May 27, 2018Slavish adherents to modern sensibilities may wish to look elsewhere. However, if you’re looking for a blend of fast-paced fun and familiar flaws, you can’t go wrong with this game.

May 25, 2018It challenged my reflexes and platforming skills, and the love that went into bringing Fox n Forests to life is clear.
-
Jun 1, 2018A lovingly crafted 16-bit platformer for fans of Wonderboy and Ghouls 'n' Ghosts, Fox n Forests has enough style and addictive side-scrolling gameplay to ultimately outweigh its structural flaws.
-
May 17, 2018With several secrets to uncover in each stage and a risk versus reward checkpoint system, FOX n FORESTS comes off a creative action platformer with a strong identity of its own.
-
May 17, 2018Fox n Forests is impressive in its authentic SNES visuals, sound, and gameplay. That being said, if it were an actual Super NES game then it would be one of those obscure titles that only a handful of gamers enjoyed back in the day.

Playstation Official Magazine UKJul 2, 2018Mostly enjoyable game that prolongs things by forcing you to revisit levels; levels that aren't compelling enough to withstand repeated visits. [Issue#151, p.88]
-
May 16, 2018Fox n Forests delivers a religious homage to the 16-bit era platformers, with satisfying big sprites, pixelart backgrounds, but also loose collisions and a mad respawn system. Its numerous upgrades add a nice touch to the adventure, but serves as a weak excuse to revisit the same stages over and over. This is particularly unfortunate, because Fox n Forests still has nice aces up its sleeve, like specific controls and shoot'em up stages.

games(TM)Jul 14, 2018Captures the 16-big feel, but falls short. [July 2018, p.83]

Jul 25, 2018Decent, but held back from greatness by a number of frustrations that masquerade as difficulty.
