I think most buyers of the game that hate it don't take the time to dig into the deep mechanics. Yes, on the surface it seems simple. Customization is fantastic, the modding community is bustling with activity, and it constantly surprises me with little details that make this game fun (IE, settings for random guys in your stable-or opponents stable- running into the ring, having a manager ring side, etc.). This is the first fire pro game I've played and I love the flexibility and gameplay. It could be that because I'm older, I dig the graphics and overall style of the game. But it still plays ten times deeper than what I've seen across other wrestling titles. It's not a button masher, it requires timing and true strategy to win in this game. This was definitely worth the 20 bucks or so that I paid. I've spent that on much worse in my lifetime. Expand

Well worth the wait. I have been a fan of the Fire Pro series since 6 Man Scramble on Sega Saturn. Love the NJPW licensing.

I bought this on recommendation from a few friends ( who are wrestling junkies ), I'm not big into wrestling ( IRL) but wrestling video games were always enjoyable for me. At first I hated this game, I couldn't figure out how to not get clobbered by the CPU. But once I started the tutorial, and got a feel for timing with grapples, I was having a blast. There are a ton of different modes including extreme wrestling. I also enjoy the old school arcade aesthetic to the game which was reminiscent of my childhood arcade experiences. This is also one of the most customizable games I've ever played, literally everything can be altered/modified/made from scratch. The menu's are a little tedious and overbearing, but it shows how insanely in depth customizing is on this game. The best part of this game also is that you can easily import characters made by other people, which there are literally hundreds of , therefore you can have the deepest roster in wrestling game history. A must have for wrestling fans, and for anyone that enjoys a change of pace in today's FPS and Fortnite filled world. Expand

The best simulation of professional wrestling ever created. Endless customization, a plethora of match types, and every wrestler is there for the picking/creating. You can even make your own ring.

If you've never played a Fire Pro game it will take time to learn the basics. The gameplay used to be a major hurdle for new players, but there's actually a training mode in FPW called Mission

The only thing this game needs is to have a royal rumble, with over 30 wrestlers. I am a fpw fan since the saturn, dreamcast and ps2. I always felt comfortable playing fpw. World is not staying behind, fpww is almost perfect.

Amazing game, great gameplay and interesting visuals. I also enjoy the tie in with NJPW since that one is my favorite wrestling promotion. Costumization is more deep than ever, with several accessories for your created characters. I am really happy that the king of wrestling games is back.

Easy to play but hard to master, the game plays out the way you would watch a match on tv smooth and realistic. If you don't mind the old school arcade style and graphics and only care about gameplay then this is the best wrestling game that hit the shelves in a long time

Before I begin, this is just a personal preference. But, FPWW is a complete wrestling game. The gameplay logic is where it's at along with the customization! The fact this game doesn't get enough attention is a shame. Especially with how bad WWE 2K has been this past year, the controls do take some time to get used to and the graphics aren't amazing by any means. This is a bit like marmite. I always wanted to play a Fire Pro game during the last decades, as I had heard they were really something special. As a wrestling fan, I was up for trying any wrestling game. But they always seemed only available via import. So in 2018, we finally got a straight UK release for Fire Pro on the PS4. You can make pretty authentic caws but the system is not as user friendly as it could of been. I found the gameplay itself disjointed. I certainly couldn't play it for long sessions. Fire Pro has it's moments, but I wasn't blown away. When it comes to retro wrestling games, you can't beat the N64 classics. Expand

Above all else, Fire Pro Wrestling World presents a level of freedom not often seen in videogames. Dedicated players have every opportunity to craft their own wrestling experience. Whether this experience adheres strictly to well-known promotions or something wholly unique is up to them. Anyone seeking a solidly crafted and entertaining experience won't be disappointed, either. The action is soundly compelling, and there's enough depth to stick around for the long term. It's also worth taking the time to explore both the Mission and Scenario modes, as they really add a lot of flavour to this excellent wrestling game.

Fire Pro Wrestling World is an ode to the past of videogames and to the past of wrestling, but just a small number of players will love it. Japanese wrestling is not so popular in the west, and the gameplay of Wrestling World is enjoyable only if you are into retrogaming.

This is a game of pure wrestling which aims to replicate the most technical and psychological aspects of the discipline by offering a rigorous, but very rewarding gameplay. You need an investment in terms of hours and effort to get satisfaction from Fire Pro Wrestling World, but you’ll get a game that can last, literally, decades.
