    Game has several issues but also does a lot right. Visuals are good. Soundtrack is top notch. I personally found the gameplay loop to be addicting, Story is solid by itself without all the extra junk. Characters are the best part. Noctis and his bros have such great chemistry. I personally enjoyed the open world and what it had to offer. It’s not done the best but it’s also unique. Isn’tGame has several issues but also does a lot right. Visuals are good.     One of the best RPG of the year, and that I've played in my life. A gorgeous and functional RPG that makes you wanna play more and more. The history is simply beautiful, the characters development is so good that you can feel they evolving during the game. The combat is good, but remarcable, the skills of noctis and the teamwork are the glimpse of it. Talking about teamwork, theOne of the best RPG of the year, and that I've played in my life. I listen to the soundtrack even today, and it's breathtaking. The graphics aren't the best, but good for the time that was launched. The map is huge and have so many side quests to do.     An absolute gem compared to the burning pile of mindless trash that is 16. Manages to retain some qualities of slower turn-based ff and yet also delivers on exploration. The characters and setting are fresh, the world vibrant. F ff16.

    After spending more than 200 hours playing Final Fantasy 15, I can feel more than satisfied with the work done by the development team.
    One of the most fascinating openworld games that I've recently played, with a simple story but an extremely large and epic Lore, and a wonderful world to explore.
    I especially enjoyed fishing in the awesome and huge world of Eos, becoming my new favorite    After spending more than 200 hours playing Final Fantasy 15, I can feel more than satisfied with the work done by the development team.
    One of the most fascinating openworld games that I've recently played, with a simple story but an extremely large and epic Lore, and a wonderful world to explore.
    I especially enjoyed fishing in the awesome and huge world of Eos, becoming my new favorite minigame within the Final Fantasy franchise.
    The characters are beautifully characterized, and the gameplay is simple but very fun and intuitive.
    Honorable mention to the excellent soundtrack, and to the excellent main villain, Ardyn Izunia.
    This is a game that I can easily recommend to any gamer that truly loves explore and play openworld games.    … Expand

    Pad in hand, the game is fun to play, and it works.
    The spirit of the journey is there, the well-written characters are there, the plot accompanied by an interesting Lore as well.
    But what amazed me the most was the wonderful world to explore. I loved dungeons, enemies and bosses, and found spells and Summons to be particularly spectacular. Epic like the classic chapters of the    Pad in hand, the game is fun to play, and it works.
    The spirit of the journey is there, the well-written characters are there, the plot accompanied by an interesting Lore as well.

    It's a good game, but not on par with previous games in the franchise. They should have finished the game before releasing it. Hopefully the royal edition fixes that

    Final Fantasy XV is, essentially, the most beautiful and cool Final Fantasy game that you can play today.

    It has a fun battle system, a nice plot, a great Lore, a wonderful graphics and a majestic soundtrack.

    Definitely a truly remarkable and enjoyable game.

    Final Fantasy 15 it has a phenomenal gameplay completely action full of spectacular combo, chains attack, parry, the powerful magics, the epic Summons, the Arminger Unleashed, and much more; and a cast of truly characteristics and very well written characters, Noctis, Ignis, Gladio and Prompto, in pretty much every aspect.
    Even with their respective jobs and hobby.
    The whole execution of the interaction between the chocobros are truly remarkable and special, something that hardly you can see into a videogame today.
    And that makes this game even more unique.

    The whole story it is also truly interesting and pretty cool, even if to the player is asked to have the patience to follow different kinds of media between an anime (Brotherhood Final Fantasy XV) and a movie prequel (Kingsglaive Final Fantasy XV), and to play the other DLCs released, the whole operation it is pretty much fully rewarded, with intriguing evolution and absolutely stunning events, that makes this whole big operation definitely worth to be followed.

    I've spent over 250 hours in the Eos world of Final Fantasy XV, and it easily became one of my favorite Final Fantasy games ever.    … Expand

    One of my favorite games of all time, and I was surprised to notice that is my favorite Final Fantasy. The history cloud be better explained, but even though the game is amazing. It’s a true Final Fantasy game with very nice drama, soundtrack, heroes, classic monsters, etc.
    It’s started the trend for a more action combat system perfected by FF VII Remake and FF XVI.     I will never ever forget the journey i had, with "my friends". The quality, soundtrack, graphics it was a masterpiece. Yes, it had some flaws, i get it. But why disctract yourself from an epic journey?! the game feels very personal, you bond with your brothers and overcome everything together.     This is one of the only games that had me hooked for days on end. In my writing I realize however my bias in liking this game so much, since it was my first Final Fantasy game, my first PS4 game, and my first modern AAA game title.

    This game was really hard to beat for me, not because of its difficulty, but because it was really boring and not interesting at all. There are a lot of issues in this game.
    I'll start by the pros:
    - The graphic is really amazing
    - It has one of the best ost I have ever heard in videogames - The villain is really one of the best in FF's history
    And that's it.

    The cons:
    - The open world is lifeless, boring to explore and not rewarding. - The story might be good, but it is told in the worst way possible, its really hard to understand it without watching any video online. Many things happen and you dont know why. The ending was really amazing, and that makes you angry, because only in the end there are good scenes, and there are some emotional scenes that you just cant feel them, because the game did nothing to make you like the characters.
    - Combat is just boring. You can finish it by using 2 buttons and if you are dying you can easily revive your team.
    - The subquests are really bad, boring and basically useless to complete. There are too much of them and most of them are not that rewarding, plus they add like nothing to the story.
    - The second part of the game was different from the rest of the game. From an open world it becomes a very linear game. - Regalia. Thats the car you can explore the world with. It basically drives alone, you dont have to do anything special if not moving it. Many times it takes ten minutes to go from a place to another and more than once i didnt pay attention to the game and just waited those minutes to arrive at destination...

    Final fantasy XV is a game that really suffered its bad development, it could have been one of the greatest game of all time, but there are many missed things that just cant be unseen. I really wanted to enjoy it, but it felt like the game did nothing to be interesting in any way.    … Expand

    final fantasy xv is one of my favorite final fantasy game and i been playing this game since 2016 my favorite collaboration in this was XV and XIV crossover events when i replay XV with new game plus i always don’t forget to do a crossover game with XIV and my favorite memories in this game is everything especially the ending. “you guys are the best”

    My first FF game. After around 25 hours, it was a beautiful experience and a nice tale about the friendship.I will start with pros first. Played it on performance mode and it goes smoothly on PS5. Landscapes are nice,but what i most liked are the bossfights with epic set pieces. Bossfight with Ifrit was phenomenal.The game story time is on point. Not too much, not too short. Now, as forMy first FF game. After around 25 hours, it was a beautiful experience and a nice tale about the friendship.I will start with pros first. Played it on performance mode and it goes smoothly on PS5. Now, as for the cons - Sometimes there are boring parts where you fight with the same dull enemies . Side quests are not fun, i beat maybe 7,8 of them and i quit. Checkpoints are sometimes really far far i away, so it can happen you beat 2 sub bosses, you die after that and you start over. I found it preety annoying since this is not a soulsborne like game. But dont get me wrong, it happened 3,4 times during my playtrough. All in all, Noctis is a great character, and it was a good experience...… Expand

    Despite several issues due to it's very complicated development, I can only recommend playing FFXV. Mostly for its characters development and a little bit for its story (do the DLCs after you finish the game and watch short Ardyn movie, it brings a lot to the lore).

    This isn't a Final Fantasy game, this is an atrocity cobbled together by the husk of a company who now focuses almost exclusively on crappy remakes and gacha games. Play 1-13 (and avoid 7) if you want a good Final Fantasy.

    When you’re driving and want to stop and go back you have to press L2 until you’re stopped, then let it go and press L2 again to slowly back up. Any 10/10 game becomes a 0/10 when you do stuff like that.

There is a sense of urgency, yet you just chill with some funny dudes until things go downhill and then it's suddenly a linear game - Story is told in a weird way. Some important    FFXV is a weird game, but it worked for me.

    There are a lot of flaws, but above all, I enjoyed most of it. It really felt like a road trip with some funny dudes you can bond with.

    Cons:
    - Pacing is bad. There is a sense of urgency, yet you just chill with some funny dudes until things go downhill and then it's suddenly a linear game
    - Story is told in a weird way. Some important plot points are told in radio comms, which you might totally miss. I couldn't grasp the whole story from playing it. Reading up on it, it might have been a pretty good story though.
    - Not really that immersive considering you run around with the most attention-grabbing clothes and have retainers who wear normal shorts and 3/4 bermuda trousers.
    - Some of the quests are really stupid, but at least I got a good laugh out of some.
    - Filler open world content to pad out the game
    - Some of the music tracks are really grinding my ears
    - Some passages of the game are really bad towards the end

    In my opinion this is the best single player FF since FFIX, albeit it being completely different. However, you can clearly see this was a game in development hell, since a lot of things feel very disconnected.    … Expand

    Much to my chagrin, the way that Noctis, Gladiolus, Prompto and Ignis interacted did not feel much different from other games in the franchise. While there was much less dialogue between characters than in previous entries, I did not think that the decrease in quantity equated to a proportional increase in quality.

    Perhaps most surprisingly of all, FFXV's combat felt lacklustre. I was deeply disappointed that I ended u feeling this way, as I believe that more enjoyable combat, in tandem with the solid graphics and overall skeleton of the game, might have gotten me to push past the elements I didn't find enjoyable. I recall making it about halfway through the game before becoming frustrated and abandoning my playthrough.

    Much better than FFXIII, but that is an extremely low bar. If you have never enjoyed a Final Fantasy game (especially a modern one), I do not think this will change your mind.    … Expand

    A wonderful action jrpg openworld game, full of marvelous wonders to discover.
    This is one of the most enjoyable that I've experienced, so I can safely recommend this, if you like openworld games with a great action gameplay, and a beautiful story.

    P.S.: both the lore and the OST of this game are gorgeous

    I've wasted a few hours playing this god-awful game. This one of the worst of the serie, maybe on par with XIII.

    The story is ridiculous.
    The combat is boring.
    The music is meh.
    The graphics are lacking.
    The controls are bad.

    I dream of the day Square would make a FF at the level of the VI

They completely neutered this game in order to sell their movie (which bombed), and Tabata went on record saying he dumbed down the gameplay so people his age could still play it.     Final Fantasy XV has a special atmosphere. The open world parts are interesting and full of side quests. But these are a bit repetitive. Also the indoor levels get boring after some hours. But worth playing!

    But the mandatory content isnt particularly good. The plot seems rather straight forward at parts and then unnecessarily convoluted at others, and never is it particularly deep and interesting until the end. Somehow, the ending made me emotionally invested and impressed, even though the entire plot leading up to that point wasnt great and occasionally seemed very rushed.    … Expand

    It would be much more fun with better dialogue/cutscene system or just PL localization. Fallout4/Skyrim were fine with english, but this game is too much jRPG style. When u're loosing with story its pointless to play next hours. Maybe next time give option - minimalistic english or native english.     About gameplay - fighting is satisfying but teamwork isnt. Companions are fine when u're not steering companions. Perks/synergy system is little bad, when u're limited. I think Mount And Blade system is 10 more satysfying when u doesnt care too much which perk and perk tree isnt strange. Just use bow to increese its level than same speed increese blade skill - just for using it. Also loot is too much jRpg gun+1, blade+2 - no immersion (visualisation isnt as much important as stats like in ERing)

    I played Final Fantasy XV in 2018 and thought it was an above average game that I liked.
    However, I dislike the DLC microtransactions in this game.

    For me Final Fantasy 6 and 7 is the best ones so this xv is realy terrible and should not be named even final fantasy, cant be bothered to play it anymore, story and gameplay is a joke. This is even more worse than ff xii. If you want jrpg tales of games are that.

    Update:So finaly i got and played it to the ending and now i can finaly say this is the worst final fantasy game i have ever played.

The story, the MUSIC oh my god, the graphics, the ending. The four friends and his journey, the interactions, it's simply amazing! This game will bring you joy and sadness, nostalgia, melancholy and a lot of emotions, well done SquareEnix!

    The story starts out easy to follow, but starts to lose its steam around its second act. It quickly becomes a mess of confusion as most Final Fantasy stories do. There are some jarring transitions to certain areas in the game that seem to carry little purpose. Although its third act is VERY short compared to the first two, it wraps up the story quite nicely and gives a very nice feel-good moment, thanks to the strong characters. Most other Final Fantasy casts aren't as likable, despite what some nostalgia-blind folk might tell you. This cast really does make the story worth seeing through to the end.

    If you're not one for story and characters, then the gameplay is rock solid. The combat is similar to that seen in the Kingdom Hearts series. It's fast, frantic, and fun. Attacks flow well, and you have special abilities that your partners can use for various purposes. Multiple enemies can become a chore if you don't defeat them fast enough, but it doesn't take away from a very solid and enjoyable core system. In my opinion, it beats just about any turn-based system out of the water.

    Overall, it's a game that puts its story behind its fun characters and equally fun gameplay. A gorgeous world packed full of giant creatures to battle, which can only be taken advantage of fully with the current open world and free flowing combat systems.    … Expand

    A fun action experience, with a wonderful world to explore.

    This is the classic case of "don't judge a game before you are actually playing it".
    Definitely recommended by me.

    I love this game. I played this game twice and I really enjoyed everything. Graphics, battle system, stories, characters etc. The only problem I noticed when playing this game on PS4 is the slow loading time. Overall this is a great and memorable game I have ever played.

I have played it for soo long and have a lot of memories playing it .. the gameplay is something new and invigorating for a final fantasy game , I throughly enjoyed the story and the unique cast of characters you’ll encounter noctis seems to be the must human out of all final fantasy characters next to squall and zidane.. the cast all have their own struggles andGod do I love this game..     This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. So I've played almost every game in the series and have been a long time fan. This is my least favorite in the series, though I still enjoyed it. But yeah let's get into my issues with the game. Keep in mind this will review the game pre dlc
    First the combat between not being able to see what I'm doing when fighting hordes of enemies to magic being a joke it's already mostly autopilot. And not being able to switch between characters is a huge negative. Now the summons while they look awesome the requirements to trigger some of them are ridiculous and too specific. Another thing the side missions in this game are a joke and mostly boring fetch quests. As far as the gameplay ff7 remake took everything this game tried to do and did it leagues better.
    Now for the story... The game was not finished there are sections of the game missing. They remedied this in the dlcs but for a game series known for its story this is a sin. I even missed main elements of the story because I didn't do a specific thing in it's too large too empty open world. Open world does not mean key elements of the story should be missable mgsv made this mistake too. Also they didn't show noctis's homeland being destroyed no pre rendered or anything it just kind of happens. They could have used scenes from the movie. But anyway what I got from the story I did like.
    So on a final note I enjoyed the game but they really needed more time with and it needed a more stable direction.    … Expand

    When someone thinks about what a Final Fantasy is, the first thing that comes to their mind is an epic story.
    While the second thing that comes to mind is a great OST.
    And this Final Fantasy XV possesses both of these qualities. An overall epic story, even if told on multiple media, and a simply spectacular OST. If you wonder how much it has to offer, I can only answer that it has    When someone thinks about what a Final Fantasy is, the first thing that comes to their mind is an epic story.
    While the second thing that comes to mind is a great OST.
    And this Final Fantasy XV possesses both of these qualities.

    An overall epic story, even if told on multiple media, and a simply spectacular OST.

    If you wonder how much it has to offer, I can only answer that it has a considerable amount of beautiful and really interesting content that can keep you hooked for over 200 hours, to complete all the secondary, dungeons, minigames and explorations of the open world.

    Ultimately, a Final Fantasy game with all the trimmings.

    Good game. Good open world fun. But totally botched and ruined by the finale. This game is a wonderful example how you can ruin a great game at the end nonetheless.

    Being able to create something really special and different like Final Fantasy XV (into a big franchise already so variegated) I'm sure must have been a really great feeling.

    To visit every single dungeon, and every single panorama, offered by the game I spent more than 100 hours of gameplay.
    And I think ultimately, it was really worth it.

    After so many years of development, Final Fantasy XV is not what I expected it to be. The universe is immense and beautiful and the characters are just fine. But the story is short and disappointing and the gameplay suffers from lack of depth. FFXV is a good game, but it can never bring the former glories back to the series.

    Despite a divided feel, torn between what it was and what it plans to be, Final Fantasy XV has a lot to offer. If you're a diehard JRPG fan, then it's a positive sign that the series can cross over to a new format. And if you're just looking for an open world adventure, Final Fantasy XV certainly has that in spades, while doing just enough things differently to separate it from the likes of Dragon Age and Elder Scrolls.
